Remote desktop viewer - Samsung Galaxy Tab Plus

I was wondering, did those that have experienced with them, which was the best one to invest in. I nave been looking a splashtop and thinking that maybe my new piece of technology goodness might help me get back into mmorpg's. Any help with the matter or opinions would help greatly. thanks

I have Splashtop and it's alright. I prefer PocketCloud (which is free). Splashtop requires a server app to be installed on your computer, and PocketCloud just uses RDP.

I like Splashtop, no familiar with PocketCloud, but will definately check it out!

I use it for basic desktop stuff. Neither work great for video. Not sure if it would work for games or not.

Splashtop for Android/on the 7.0 Plus doesn't work well for video. On the iPad it's such a perfect system that I regularly use it to view video and you couldn't tell that it's a remote system

One is $14, the other is $10 there is also another option called logmein. Has anyone tried this one? This is $30 though

I personally use PocketCloud and Splashtop, Splashtop is aware of the issues with the Tab Plus, but don't have an ETA on fixes.
Pocketcloud works perfectly, there is also an auto discovery software for them. I use it to manage my servers/computers for work and have no issues at all.

LogMeIn works, but it doesn't work as well as Pocketcloud or Splashtop. Both of them reformat the screen automatically. Of the 3 I would rate them
#1 Pocketcloud, amazing software great support
#2 Splashtop Great software, not formatted properly for our screens
#3 Logmein, works, but not clean or efficient, had problems with it and the image quality/speed is slower than Pocketcloud or splashtop

And there is a free version of pocket cloud i think it just limits the number of saved connections.

[Q] any success with PlayOn mobile app?

has anyone had any success with the playon mobile app on the transformer? I downloaded the trial windows and the mobile app from the market. Set up the server and the tranformer sees the playon host. i can browse the video, but once i select something to play all i get is an information type box with the program name and such. i cant seem to actually get any video from the thing.
thoughts?
-J
Yes mine worked. The trick is to tap the blank area. Then it will pull up the video in full screen.

Playon's business model is BS. I bought a key years ago when it was 40. Now I can't use "premium" features. Total bs

Same here.
I have also been using Plex on my desktop (connected to TV) for a long time, so when their Android app came out I jumped on it. Much better app IMO, and a fair, one-time, fee. Happy to pay anyway, since the desktop program is awesome and free.

Interesting. It seems like Plex only does locally stored media though. Is there a way to have it stream from basic Hulu?

If you have a Mac, yes. If you're running Windows, not yet.

Best tablet ssh client?

I recently picked up a TF and really like it so far. I have been using connectbot on my phone for making ssh connections, but this app doesn't format itself well for tablets.
Anyone have a favorite ssh client that works well on tablet sized screens?
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
I like ConnectBot on the TF - only gripe I have with it is it handling of the shift-key, mainly because of the keyboard dock being able to sort out shift-key without having a "sticky shift" key functionality offered to phones.
Anyone else using a different ssh client?
I'd probably be happy with connectbot if it supported landscape.

I use better terminal pro. It seems to work well with the tablet form factor as well as with the keyboard dock.

A Remote Desktop App with right click?

Splashtop HD comes with the tablet, but right click doesn't work. Any apps that have right click and work well with the infinity?
I'd highly recommend Jump Desktop - it's now my goto RDP App.

Try Jump Desktop. Supports left and right click, as well as the scroll wheel on bluetooth mice. However, it does NOT support tap to click for some reason.

No tap to click either? that's awesome. I've been looking for that feature in the android settings. I'll have to try this when i get home from work
Splashtop uses long click as right click. I just used it and it works fine.
TeamViewer
I too remember having rightclicks available in Splashtop itself <?>.

Logmein Ignition works well too.

I use Splashtop THD. If you go to settings>asus customized settings, and set "right button behavior" to "show context menu", right click works properly.
I have been using Teamviewer for a really long time too.

Splashtop 2 is free on the market right now. The included splashtop doesn't have good mouse support, but the newer versions on play do. I dont have any way to connect my mouse at the moment to test it though. Setting the right button behavior as I mentioned earlier is a must though, because android registers right click as back by default.

For some reason it doesn't work all of the time. It works for me in Windows, but not in a lot of games. And in those games where it does not work, the game is mostly unplayable with Splashtop HD.

It is free but requires a $2.99 a month subscription as an in-app purchase to unlock most of the functionality (at least 3G/4G RDP and more). There is a ton of drama atm with them giving this subscription free for life to all current iPhone users who bought a previous version, but only giving Android users 1 free month.
I'll have to check out TeamViewer.

Personally, I didn't like TeamViewer at all - I hated having those stupid "codes" instead of using the computer names, etc... It is free though...
I've found Jump Desktop to be my favorite. It just works - even over the internet.
That and they disabled that damn "tap-to-click" "feature" that drives me crazy when using the trackpad! That alone is worth switching!

You have to go into "My Cloud" - it's the second "box" going down the left hand side (it's not labeled Spashtop though).

Oh wow I didn't realize that. At least the THD I bought before 2 came out was only a one time payment. But THD hasn't seen much development love either. It doesn't have many resolution settings (unless you use database hacks). I would definately stay away from them for now.
I really like 2x Client. It's free.
Logmein ignition for use when not docked or not using a BT mouse, Jump Desktop otherwise!
I got Splashtop 2 and my right clicks work now in all my apps. Teamviewer was pretty awkward to use and quite sluggish considering it reduced the screen resolution quite a bit. For now Splashtop 2 works fine over my home network. We'll see if I need it beyond there.

Project Smartglass for Microsoft XboX360 Released

Impressive app. Allows for the control of the Xbox360 on the Android phone. Very responsive as long as you have connected the phone and your XboX on the same wifi network, otherwise it's pretty laggy. Using IE on the XboX becomes much more useful in that you can easily scroll and navigate the browser using your Android phone's keyboard and pad app that allows you to scroll horizontally and vertically. Still playing around with it.

Note 10.1 as a second monitor

Just intersted to know if anyone else is using their tablet as a second monitor and what software / setup is being use and there general latency / experience is like. I use idisplay on both USB and wifi and performance is pretty good, refresh is high enough to watch web video but it crashes media player when I drag movies onto it, havent found out why that is yet.
I mainly use mine as a second monitor for use with Presonus Studio one, I sometimes drag the midi track or a vst synth onto it so I can twiddle the knobs with touch instead of my mouse.
I use splashtop 2 on mine to access my 2 monitors.
