Best tablet ssh client? - Eee Pad Transformer Themes and Apps

I recently picked up a TF and really like it so far. I have been using connectbot on my phone for making ssh connections, but this app doesn't format itself well for tablets.
Anyone have a favorite ssh client that works well on tablet sized screens?
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App

I like ConnectBot on the TF - only gripe I have with it is it handling of the shift-key, mainly because of the keyboard dock being able to sort out shift-key without having a "sticky shift" key functionality offered to phones.
Anyone else using a different ssh client?

I'd probably be happy with connectbot if it supported landscape.

I use better terminal pro. It seems to work well with the tablet form factor as well as with the keyboard dock.

Confirmed by a few users ive seen. But I've yet to get an update to say otherwise.

Works like a champ! It seems to be knocking out my BT keyboard making life rather annoying right now.
Using a Microsoft mouse. Looks just like the transformer video showing off their mouse. I look at my Xoom differently now, especially with the cheap stand.
doenst work at all with my microsoft presenter 8000 bluetooth mouse. $80 mouse

I was wondering, did those that have experienced with them, which was the best one to invest in. I nave been looking a splashtop and thinking that maybe my new piece of technology goodness might help me get back into mmorpg's. Any help with the matter or opinions would help greatly. thanks

I have Splashtop and it's alright. I prefer PocketCloud (which is free). Splashtop requires a server app to be installed on your computer, and PocketCloud just uses RDP.

I use it for basic desktop stuff. Neither work great for video. Not sure if it would work for games or not.

Splashtop for Android/on the 7.0 Plus doesn't work well for video. On the iPad it's such a perfect system that I regularly use it to view video and you couldn't tell that it's a remote system
One is $14, the other is $10 there is also another option called logmein. Has anyone tried this one? This is $30 though

I personally use PocketCloud and Splashtop, Splashtop is aware of the issues with the Tab Plus, but don't have an ETA on fixes.
Pocketcloud works perfectly, there is also an auto discovery software for them. I use it to manage my servers/computers for work and have no issues at all.

LogMeIn works, but it doesn't work as well as Pocketcloud or Splashtop. Both of them reformat the screen automatically. Of the 3 I would rate them
#1 Pocketcloud, amazing software great support
#2 Splashtop Great software, not formatted properly for our screens
#3 Logmein, works, but not clean or efficient, had problems with it and the image quality/speed is slower than Pocketcloud or splashtop
And there is a free version of pocket cloud i think it just limits the number of saved connections.

Bluetooth mouse? Any that work?

Anyone have any bt mouses they use that work? Can you use one while using the keyboard?

Any bluetooth mouse should work I believe. I think you can have 2 devices paired at the same time too.
I use a Dell Bluetooth Mouse with a Bluetooth keyboard all the time. They work very well together. Now with Onlive Desktop, I have a very productive business tool with my Touchpad.
I bought my mouse used for $9.00 here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002G9J3MO/ref=oh_o00_s00_i00_details
Good luck!
I'm using a Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000. Yes you can use a bluetooth mouse and keyboard at the same time. Pretty much any bluetooth keyboard and mouse will work as long as they use are HID compliant which almost all are.
Hell I'm using a Mac mighty mouse for it and it works

Microsoft Bluetooth Mouse 5000, Microsoft Bluetooth Keyboard 6000. Work great together on Ubuntu (haven't tried in Android, but there's no reason they wouldn't work).
I bought this mouse off amazon and it DOES NOT work with the touchpad. With cm7 it would work but be extremely flighty. With cm9 it will pair but will not function...I also was looking for a mouse to use with the touchpad....specifically for splashtop. Also the mouse paired hid.

It doesn't have the best review rating on Amazon, only 2.5 stars. It's probably just a bad BT mouse in general. If you bought from Amazon or a Fulfilled by Amazon seller, they have a really good defective return policy that won't cost you anything to ship back/return if its been less than 30 days. They let you print off a prepaid (by them) return shipping label.
You may have to pay a bit more for a better brand if that one won't work. I've never had an issue with Microsoft or Logitech mice. Dell, HP and possibly other OEMs usually have rebranded Logitech stuff so they are good as well.
Blueputdroid on my Droid 4 works perfectly.
I get high fives from my tech-inclined friends for doing citrix remote desktop from my touch pad using Firefox running on Ubuntu 12.04 running on cm9 with the Droid 4 serving as Bluetooth keyboard, mouse and wifi hotspot. It is a sight to behold.
If you have an android phone you might consider this.

Alright guys so I got a mouse but It won't pair. I explained in another thread why, but it pretty much won't connect and if it does the mouse movement doesn't do anything even though I see the cursor on the screen. It works great on my galaxy nexus though. :/

I tried my iMac magic mouse and bluetooth slim keyboard but none of them do anything (could be a hid thing)... they do pair, and the keyboard I can register and pair when I type the passcode. Has anyone tried these?
Also, for those using Splashtop, does it support the keyboard and mouse? Its such a hassle to click/drag or open the keyboard to type.
Am using an old BTM-100 Anycom BT Mouse. Works very smooth.

Haven't tried with webOS, but with CM9, both my logitech BT mouse and keyboard work like a charm
I have the Razer Orochi and it works fine.
Sort of mouse related....I have the Logitech Mediaboard Pro for the PS3 (keyboard + trackpad) and it's worked well so far.
Using a Bluetooth mouse made this tablet even more awesome.

Project Smartglass for Microsoft XboX360 Released

Impressive app. Allows for the control of the Xbox360 on the Android phone. Very responsive as long as you have connected the phone and your XboX on the same wifi network, otherwise it's pretty laggy. Using IE on the XboX becomes much more useful in that you can easily scroll and navigate the browser using your Android phone's keyboard and pad app that allows you to scroll horizontally and vertically. Still playing around with it.

Connecting a phone with the Note 10.1 in order to use the phone's keyboard?

Okay so bear with me here. I'm trying to figure out a way to connect my Samsung SGH-I927 (Captivate Glide) to the Note 10.1 so I can use the physical keyboard to type with on the tablet. Is this possible in any way so I can use the tablet as a monitor and my phone as a keyboard?
Sent from my GT-N8013 using XDA Premium HD app
No you cannot do that as to recognize the phone drivers will be required which is not possible
Why dont you just buy a usb keyboard in that case a cheaper option or a bluetooth one
Oh okay, I was just wondering if it was possible. I wanted to find another way for people to type on the tablet without having to buy a new device. Thanks for the answer though.

Sv: Connecting a phone with the Note 10.1 in order to use the phone's keyboard?
There are apps to remotely control other Android devices, isn't it possible that such a solution will work? Since you can control the controlled device both with the actual device and with the device acting as a remote control, you should be able to use your tablet for everything and then just use your phone to write. I've not tried this though, if anything I would like to use my tablet keyboard to my SGS3 but since I can send sms using my tablet there's really no point to be honest.

You understand what I'm trying to achieve here right? It would be nice to be able to type on the tablet without having the virtual keyboard come up on the screen, using your phone as the keyboard for your tablet. (I'm assuming it's easier for most people to type faster on the phone rather than tablet). I'm not talking just sms, more as overall typing in every app, if possible.
Again, this is just a question which I'm hoping that we can find an alternative to using a bluetooth keyboard. It would be helpful for anyone who doesn't want to lug around more accessories for their tablet.

I think so! I'm sorry if I confused you with the talk about sms, that's just a sidetrack why I don't think many have this kind of suggestion.
However, my solution for you would be this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tournesol.tabletremote something like this, an app that allows you to remotely control another Android device including typing words (at least that's what the description tells). So, you use your tablet like you use to do and when you click on something where you wish to write you minimize the software keyboard on the tablet and use the phone instead.
I've not tried the app though, but there's a couple of different apps that do almost the same but in different ways and hopefully someone will do the trick.

No, it's okay, i just didn't want to be limited to sms .
I was looking at apps last night but it was late and didn't feel like running tests on different applications. I looked at that yesterday, I'm going to try it out later today. (still in bed at the moment since it's only 6:47 am). I also saw this app, and the interface seems basic. https://play.google.com/store/apps/...m=organic&utm_term=android+mouse+and+keyboard I feel like this could work also. The remote desktop by Kolakowski Damian doesn't let you control the tablet in the manner that you want to.

Well, there's a chance that you have to test a couple of different apps before you find someone that does what you want it to do and more importantly, in the way you want it to. But I can't see why you shouldn't be able to do it, I have the Unified Remote app to control my PC with my phone and typing works great even though I don't get any auto correction. After all, it's a quite simple feature and shouldn't involve too much data transfers that can cause lag if implemented correctly.

Tablet remote definitely works, but there's one major problem to it when you use the physical keyboard on the glide. If I wanted to enter special characters (colon, semicolon, apostrophes) it would not register on the tablet and only certain keys would hit. It works for the regular virtual keyboard on the phone.
If you want an alternative, smaller keyboard for easier typing, try out tablet remote. I'm sure there are more apps which I will look into and post on here.

I'm basically just guessing here, but I think that might be because you are not using the same ASCII codes on your OS as your app. In my opinion that shouldn't be a problem since it should just send the codes to the other device, but if it's converting it to text before sending it over there might be a problem. After all, the most common use for this app I suppose is typing in an URL or maybe search for a song, at least that's that I'm doing when remotely control another device.
If there's not any settings where to specify regions in the app, hopefully there's an app that supports US (?) keyboards.
