There are lot of themes available for our device out here. instalation is really easy. download the zip, flash it via xrecovery. you are done.
problem comes while uninstalling it.
as such the only way to uninstall a theme is restoring a previous backup.
but it may so happen that
1. you don't have enough space for a backup
2. you don't want to waste time making and restoring backups
3. you want to try out a theme for a few days. so when you restore backup you lose all data of those 3-4 (or more) days.
so for all you guys, here is an easy way to backup your current theme and restore it later without making a full backup.
______INSTRUCTIONS______
1. download the two zip files from the given link below. (both zips on the same link)
2. "BEFORE INSTALLING YOUR NEW THEME", flash 2file-pt1.zip . this makes your backup of current theme.
3. install whichever theme you like by flashing it's zip which you have downloaded. feel free to download and try any theme from xda themes and apps section. enjoy the new theme.
4. when you want your old theme back, just flash 2file-pt2.zip this will restore the backed up theme you made in step 1.
______IMPORTANT NOTES_______
>step 2 creates a folder "modchamp" on your sdcard. do not delete it. the backed up theme stays in that folder.
>step 4 will backup the theme you had before performing step 2. so in step 3 you can download more than one theme and try all of them. you can always go back to your initial theme whenever you want.
>devs who open and read the scripts in my zip (i know the those who know scripting will definitely go through my zip thoroughly), pleeeeeease don't laugh at it. i am a noob at Linux commands and i know the script looks embarrassing.
______FAQ______
Q. which files are backed up and restored?
A. framework-res, semcgenericuxpres, systemui, settings.apk, semcphone.apk, offline chargemon pngs, bootanimation (full list in post #9)
Q. i just installed a new theme, but i had not made a backup. how can i uninstall it?
A. new theme overwrites old files, which CANNOT be restored if backups had not been made.

rarely those files are included. I'll add those in the script in another zip then if you say. but more files i add, the more time consuming the affair becomes. lol.
as far as themes for wolf or stock ROM goes. the files i included are more than enough. mostly themes change systemui and framework-res only.

I want to publish a script to COPY a THEME from a ROM A to ROM B.
But i want to ask the agreement of the Theme Creators....
Can i do it ? It will extract the Theme of the ROM A and can be apply to the ROM B.
My idea :
i install a ROM A, i like it Theme, but not other things..
and i want this theme on an another ROM (ROM B)..
Say me if you are AGREE or DISAGREE with my script ?
Theme = staus bar + all SE apps skined + Reboot Option + Transitions animations
i agree if it is the best we make it better
Hope not every litle kid is going to steal themes with this
But if it works i can be very useful
i test it.. it work !!!
But i can't check what users will do with my work...
i hope it will use it for personal use... not to steal a theme and release a ROM with this steal...
My test :
1) I flash my X10 with a ROM A (eminence 1.2)
2) My script extract all companent of the theme of ROM A and copy it on le SD card
3) I flash my X10 with the ROM B (Blue Spark 4b)
4) My script Relace the theme of my New ROM B, with the theme of the ROM A (previously backuped)
5) Reboot, and i have the ROMB with the theme of ROM A...
I appreciate your work but there are already scripts available to do it.
Anyway I will still try yours . Thank you.

I am currently outside and search in the XDA App s..ks. If I remember correctly you only had to copy the framework-res apks to respective folders and it copied the pngs with same name from one to another. It only worked with pngs and not the xmls.
Do a search. It must be somewhere in the android section.

no need to decompil/compiling anything.... juste a copy/past
It work for ONLY the SAME version of FW...
A024 to A024
NOT A024 -> 2.2
my script is realy not hard to write and to use... i'm not a THemer, i never create a theme...
I juste know my script work perfectly on A024 FW ... tested with Eminance 1.2 (ROM A) to Blue Spark (ROM B)
tested The copy of the Theme of Eminance 1.2 to a Global Generic A024 recently flashed by SEUS (no xRecovery)
good luck.. hope you'll make something

Changelog and download link here
Update 1: 29/12/2011
Screenshot and change log here

First Version
I have created ICS theme (look and feel) for Froyo (DDKF1).
Download ICS-DDKF1.zip
Extract the contents
Push framework-res.apk and twframework-res.apk into /system/framework
Reboot and Enjoy ICS look and feel.
Screenshots attached.
Note: This is for deodexed version. You can try on odexed version but backup original files.
This is for ddkf1 and ddkb2 and not tested on other froyo ROM's. You can test the same but keep backup of original files.
Disclamer: I will not be responsible for any damage to your phone.
Features:
1. ICS Theme / Look and Feel
2. 1% battery mod
3. ICS Animations (enable all animations from settings)
4. Transparent notifications bar
adb steps
Assuming apk files are extracted to c:\ics-ddkf1 path
on command prompt
adb push c:\ics-ddkf1 /sdcard/ics-ddkf1
adb shell
su (you should get # prompt)
stop (this is important as it will not remove your accounts)
mkdir /sdcard/frame-bak
cp /system/framework/framework-res.apk /sdcard/frame-bak/framework-res.apk (making backup)
cp /system/framework/twframework-res.apk /sdcard/frame-bak/twframework-res.apk (making backup)
cp /sdcard/ics-ddkf1/framework-res.apk /system/framework/framework-res.apk
cp /sdcard/ics-ddkf1/twframework-res.apk /system/framework/twframework-res.apk

I decided to make a theme for myself, and it would be pitty if i didn't share it... I personally use Launcher 7 and NoLock, so it would look the best... i made it so it goes well with blue tiles from Launcher7 ... Any suggestions would be pretty cool...

Phone and Music Player can be pushed, or you can simply copy them to phone and then use root explorer to copy them to your system/app.
Credits go to UOT Kitchen for status bar battery.
On screenshots u will see red ! thats where i have hidden some parts of image, for privacy.
Here is the Google Play link to Launcher 7 that i used : Launcher 7
I reccomend using: NoLock or WP7 Lock to get full wp7 feel, but its preety buggy still, and i guess we will have to wait for devs to work on it ... (main bug is that you have to unlock when someone is calling you, and then answer)
I also reccomed using it with black keyboard from fazlihellmuth, here is the link to his keyboards: ICS themed keyboard
Credits go to fazlihellmuth for keyboard.
!! Theme warning: if flashed on xxkqb it will remove your lockscreen and replace it with one from xxkpo (this is still to be confirmed, so if anyone is willing to test, just send me a pm), as for phone and musicplayer just flash them on xxkpo.
!! As for keyboard, it can be flashed on xxkpo as well as on xxkqb (so i guess it works on any rom, if it's not pm me so i can change this statement)
p.s. i am starting my work on value pack theme. And about screenshots, i will update them tomorrow with changes in this version of theme.
Great Effort

Hi
Just thought I might share with anyone on a LRK rom an orange theme I have. I made this for ClassicRom but should work fine on any LRK rom and possibly 4.0.4. There are some issues with LR6 with wrong text displayed but all good on LRK but haven't tested on previous 4.0.4 roms.

Thanks to grgsiocl, criskelo and ruger94, if forgotten anyone sorry
The usual make a backup and flash at own risk

Edit: made some slight changes for the better and couple of png issues fixed

So you dont need to reflash the rom you can either use a root explorer and copy the replaced files from the rom you are using or unzip the theme zip and replace the files in there with the ones from your rom, zip then flash.

You want to get the apks from the zip file you flashed for the rom. In system/framework you will need framework-res, criskelo-res or lidroid-res depending which one is there and twframework-res. From system/app you will need axt9ime, mms, contacts, jobmanager and systemui. Either replace the files in the zip for the theme with these and flash or copy and paste them in your system with a root explorer, if going to do that do app folder then framework and will need to hold power down to reset the phone after framework is copied because it will lock up the phone. Worst case you can just reflash the rom without wipe.

nice looking
lrq update plz
thanks for the skin. can you get the notification dropdown to support 240dpi?
and also...maybe the orange hex color to be FFFD9640? This orange is a *bit* dark..
currently the orange gradient bar is 3/4 way down on the screen, and not at the bottom. other than that, it is totally awesome
thanks!
Nice job - Look's great
Working on updating this to lrq as well as the other themes I have. Don't plan on supporting a different dpi as I don't use a different dpi sorry. As for the hex code I have done most of the xmls already but will look into changing to the code suggested when get another chance. And for the drop down curtain I wanted to make it that way for something different so the black faded into the orange
