Galaxy S4 Available in Canada(Bell) on May 3rd

Spoke to a manager today at the Bell store.
They told me they are very sure the phone will be coming to Bell stores on May 3rd. Pricing was not 100% positive but is expected to be around $650 no contact, which is almost identical to the $640 projected for the USA.
(old news) You can pre-order the phone for 50 dollars from most of the various carriers. This is a DOWN PAYMENT.
Just figured I would share since it seems Canada isn't getting too much love Looking forward to the launch
PS. I looked at the Xperia ZL while I was there and it was a very nice phone, I don't get what all the screen fuss is about.

AFAIK Virgin Mobile Canada is getting it on April 26th. I would expect Bell to get it on the same day.

If it's like last year, the phone will be $50.00 cheaper @ Virgin. So get your phone from them if you are with Bell.

Ah, I must have missed that post, thanks. None of the other threads here on XDA have mentioned it.
PS. I did tilt the screen, it wasn't that bad IMO.

Do you have any information about the 32Gb version? Phone reservation is only available for the 16Gb model...

Hmm, Pre-Orders are open now, phoned several bell stores that confirmed they will have them in stock on April 27th.
It will be 699.95 Off contract or 199.95 on a 3 year contract or upgrade.
I cant post links but the infos on bells website

They will only be in stock for those with all the pre - order paperwork AND picture lD. And you must pick up the preorder before May 3. And you must prepay the entire amount. Can't wait!

I was told my a few stores that on april 27th they will get stock, if they get more then alotted to preorders they will sell me one off contract for the 699.95

Videotron has the s4 outright for 649.95 dollars.....

Perhaps it depends on whether it's a Bell Store or another retailer. My receipt is very specific and the service person said for the last pre-order they got only exact numbers.

If its from Oneplus.net then its international. As far as UK, don't know. I live in U.S. and they shipped via USPS, and to Canada they ship via DHL

Just to add on to this thread - how long does it take for them to actually ship the phone? I ordered mine on Thursday and it's still showing 'Processing'
I know it's been the weekend but just wanna get an idea...

Handling took 2-3 days on each of my three orders when on Express (family members). Shipping across the EU another 18 hours.
In all cases the phone showed "Processing" until when it was actually received(!), in one case even far longer. So I would not go too much on that.

1-2 business days. It should probably be done processing and ship by tonight. I ordered a two weeks ago on a Friday. It was done processing by Monday night and arrived on Wednesday.

I also ordered Thursday and received notification Sunday evening that the shipping label had been created. I expect it will go out some time today. I am in the US.

Just got my email saying it's shipped so I'm guessing I'll get it in a few days (fingers crossed!)

Did you use standard shipping with USPS?

I ordered mine and waited about 1.5 days for processing to complete before it shipped out of a warehouse in California. Very quick; I was prepared to wait for shipping from China.

How to root LG x charge

I have the LG X Charge that I got from Comcast on August 8. I wanted to root it but can find nothing on how to root it. I looked but found nothing that tells how to root it. I tried flashing SuperSu but couldn't find a custom recovery for this phone. While searching, I did find that this phone was released in Europe a few months ago where it's called X Power 2. Under settings / about phone / phone name it says LG-M322. Also under settings / about phone / software info it says the version of Android it's running is 7.0.
When I got the phone, I was surprised to see it wasn't loaded with crapware. Right now I mainly want to root it so I can do something about the restrictions placed on using the sd card.
Does anyone know if someone has found out how to root this phone? Is there a version of twrp or some other custom bootloader for it?

I have been searching all over for root on the x charge and honestly I can't find one. This phone is pretty new and will take some time for a developer to take notice. As this phone is only available on Xfinity and one other company not many people use I would say it could take some time.

Has anyone tried this to unlock the bootloader? http://www.simnetworkunlockpin.com/unlock-bootloader-apk-code-generator/ wondering if it will work for our device. It says LG is supported but I have never heard of it before. If we can get the bootloader unlocked we could then worry about twrp and root would be easy after that.

Xfinity just started offering this phone for $1 (and you own it) for their free verizon talk/text plans. Its hit the 'hot deals' sites and people are ordering by the thousands...so I think its going to be pretty popular and available quite soon.
The other phones (galaxies and iphones) are being given $200 discounts as well.

xfinitity also does trades but i haven't tried them yet. probably offer pennies through some 3rd party ))). i just bought x charge. not sure where $1 shows up, unless it's spread out into 24 months/$0.04. taxes and fees $2.26 (monthly?). still not bad for unlimited talk txt + 100mb data. i'm not familiar with this phone. would be interested in unlocking bl and root. would be amazing if possible. not sure if there's a limit. would like another one for a clock.

I just received the phone too.... for this price ($1) you can't complain about the specs. hopefully someone roots it so we can get rid of all the LG junk bloatware

I was afraid it would take a while. i used to have a ZTE phone and had to wait 6 months after I got it before a root became available. I want to root this thing mainly to get around the restrictions Marshmalow puts on using the sd card.

You should be on 7.0 not 6. My x charge came with nougat not marshmallow.

You're right. My mistake. About the dispute whether the phone is $180 or $1. The $1 price is a special that runs out in September. At least that's what I found at xfinity.com/mobile
It really pisses me off that the companies that sell the phones have this idea that we are too stupid to be allowed to do what we want with our phones. We shouldn't have to fight with rooting our phones. But lots of things should be but aren't. Politicians should always be honest. Relative humidity should never be over 20%. Daytime highs in summer should never be over 80. You get the idea.

It's a very good phone i'm surprised it seems faster than my e4 with same sd425, but $180+tx is too much. We should demand bl unlock code. By force. It's the only way. verizon/moto and xm/lg.

But you get billed for 3 lines right away? Can't just keep them unactivated indefinitely? I ordered 2, refused one. XM says i have 2 lines. I won't get billed if they receive one. If i could keep this phone for $1 and never activate i'd get 3.

Thought I'd switch data off activate them and not be billed for anything but activation fees. And use Sims in note 5 and 2 note 4 . See if everthing works. And then sell each for 100. I was surprised to see it available this morning maybe and got impulsive thinking I had 30 days to cancel or keep it to my benefit. Maybe I'll cancel 2 and play around with one for myself. I have a note 4 with verizon and unlimited plan. But paying 230 after 25% employee discount and if I can get it down to under 150 would be great. Thanks for the heads up

@davekaz, even if you are not using mobile data, you will be charged (for each account) for taxes, FCC charges and other sh... stuff. For example, AT&T charges $8.24 extra per account (see list below):
Surcharges and Other Fees

If you already received your phone you can request a price drop to the $0.04 they are offering. I just did this, the only downside is they claim it takes 30 days to start receiving the lower price. We shall see what my bill is next month.

Just wondering what restrictions to the SD card you are talking about. I haven't noticed any.

I just ordered another one. I was waiting to add my son until you could bring your own phone. I should be able to use the sim card in his phone and keep this one as a back up. It cost a whopping $2.96 after fees.

The benchmark scores are better, and it is getting better storage options. The U.S. is only getting 64GB whereas UK and other countries are getting higher options.
It cost me $1,000.

If you are talking about the bootloader being unlocked then you are living in a fantasy world. I dont see how they justify unlocking the international version, but not the US model.

oh no, i was talking about any sort of network unlock or samsung activator on first boot

Preordered Coral Biue unlocked from Samsung.Com. Have personal ATT and Work VZW and wanted options, Hopefully I don’t have to contend with the BS from ATT locking it down when SIM installed(yes I know its likely). It’s be hit or miss on my iPhone 7 Plus.

I preordered the S9+ AT&T model from Samsung. I would have went with the unlocked model but I could make good use of the wifi calling feature and I'm pretty sure AT&T only enables that feature on their own phones. Black of course.

Did you place an order? I see they are on sale for a further $235 off. Note the shipping delay however - this appears to be the most common complaint I've seen of PDA Plaza.

I see in the other forum on this phone you ordered elsewhere and paid more - what made you decide to pass on PDA Plaza (only ask because I am considering them too).

I have used PDA to buy new devices from, never had an issue with my orders.
The 2 Canadian sites ive used are, pda and swiftronics (swift has 2 stores in the GTA if your local).
Easy cell also has a good reputation.

Their prices are always lower but for me swiftronics is local and I can go to the store which is better..plus i pay cash so no tax which helps lol.

Totally understand. I'm not local to Swiftronics so will probably go with PDA. And their products are brand new in sealed boxes?

Yes they are, shipping is fast also in my experience

I backed out from PDA after a horrible reputation on redflagdeals, but peace of mind with local pick up
