Widget Picker is an app that Romanbb exposed me to.
It is extremely small in size, but does wonder for Type A's like me.
Below is a video to demonstrate what I mean.
If you want it included in a ROM, let the developer know.
If you want to just download it and move to system/app like I did in the video (you see how easy it is)... you can go to THIS THREAD
Pretty cool little app eh?
Had this before, it is a very neat little app.
Don't really have any widgets that require this right now, but for those that do, this is a must.
Doesn't work with tw 4.5 though.
I love this app,I put it in every Rom I use. If you use apps like mClock, minimalistic text or any app that has various widget sizes this is a must have.
Awesome! So simple and easy install and really does it's job. Thanks!

Hi - I think if they are unique and useful then we'll need to post a description of what they do, otherwise you'd have to download it and try it out to see if it's something that you'd find useful....
For me - Data on demand - switches your mobile data connection off when you're screen is off, unless a background task calls for it.
and battery indicator - put's a little battery icon in your status bar which shows you how many % battery you have left.. much more useful than the vagaries of the std battery icon.
Hey above two are very common man
Ok let me tell u abt mine:
1. Droid phone control
U can the contents of ur phone on laptop without using usb cable..u can do a lot more..give it a try

My first post!
Just to correct OP, MeContacts is not a smart dialer. It's an app that you can put different contacts in grid view. You can choose either to call or view contact when you tap on that particular contact. Also, speak and send is great, thanks OP.
I've been nerding and looking up for anything that can improve my X10. I'll name the ones that I don't think are very common. But ya, here goes my long list (in no particular order; i don't use all of these now, but they have been useful to me before)...
*1) QuickDesk Beta
- quick pop up menu where you can add apps/widgets and allows you to stay on your current application (for some reason the double tap doesn't work for me, but single tap works fine)
2) Last Call Widget
- a simple widget that lets you see your last call (can 1 click to call back the caller if it was a missed call)
3) Quick Settings (by Sergej Shafarenka)
- an app that lets you quickly set your WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, etc. This is better than having a widget constantly running in the background
4) Quick Battery (by Sergej Shafarenka)
- nice looking battery widget
*5) Multicon Widget
- have 4 shortcuts (not widgets) in a normally 1 icon space (helps save a lot of space)
*6) Car Mode
- press on the icon, and phone all phone calls will be coming out of the speakers (NOT a bluetooth feature which connects to other BT devices)
7) Turtle Photoframe
- best (in my opinion) photoframe for pictures, not a lot of features or customization, but gets the job done I think
8) Unit converter (by Wopnersoft)
- really nice looking interface for a unit converter
9) Tajm
- presents the time and date in word format rather than numbers
*10) Shake - Uninstall
- enable the feature, and go into any application (does not work with widgets), then shake to uninstall the app
11) Blik Calendar Widget
- a 4x1 widget that shows your calendar schedule for about 8-10 days. Uses 1 of 500 built in pics to describe your activity for that day
*12) Home Switcher
- if you use a lot of different launchers and set 1 as a default, this will be very useful for you to toggle between the different launchers
*13) Market History Manager
- 1 click to delete the history in Market, very useful and straightforward
*14) ToDo List Widget
- easy to add, edit, and delete lists. very handle and simple to use.
Hope that list helps people! *phew* that took awhile to type it up =P
*starred ones are the ones I think are most useful.

Ghost Commander... A great Dual-pane file manager(like Norton Commander, FAR manager etc), making it very easy to copy and paste between folders in your SDcard, both panes are individually configurable and its the only file manager that i use...
Its a free download from android market
Note: if you've already used dual-pane file managers handling this is a breeze, but for first timers there is a small learning curve
Thanks ECBomb for sharing the names of those apps..will try n let u know

Hi All,
I've been quite closely following Alterbridge and his Overcome GB custom rom, and since i travel around alot, its been so worth my while following it through the XDA app.
The app itself is clean, no extra fuss, and gives exactly what you ask for. What i'm driving at here is, do you feel its missing anything? Maybe we can get the developer to join us and see if they like our ideas and possibly add them to the app.
i'll go first - i think the option to THANK someone in the forums, if they helped you in any way could possibly be added to the menu (for me in android, its long-pressing menu drop-down on a specific post )
The app itself is VERY similar to Tapatalk but its missing one of my must-have features. I would love there to be a "dark" theme that uses white text and a black background instead of black text and a white background. Just something to think about.
xda app
i still can't figure out how to post with it
Search function, being able to see the smileys instead of text wrapped in colons, ability to re-arrange the order of the favorites list, and the ability to attach files other than images.
I use the XDA app alot, probably more than I visit XDA on my PC, so I guess the little things that the tapatalk app don't do tend to bug me a little after awhile lol.

Is anyone else a huge launcher 7 fan?
I love it and I want to share my experience with it.
The best thing about it thus far is the minimalistic look and the ability to colorize tiles with transparency.
Screenshots to come

I like launcher 7 for it's simplicity as well. I recently took advantage of the free sgs4g for my dad as a fathers day gift. I put launcher 7 on it to make it easy for him to access stuff without having to switch screens. Makes it easier for those who can't see the small icons on other launchers. but I would never turn in this phone for a windows phone.

Laucher 7 is great for quicklaunching things. Especially usign a phone while intoxicated. I recommend it with homeswitcher and maybe using the lightweight zedge for big widgets.
Im stil having trouble finding a contact launcher that fits into the launcher 7 scheme.
I'm liking it as well..over Bionic's rom.. super silky smooth scrolling and I enjoy changing the tile colors every few days which freshens it up.. currently mango. I'm sure you guys have done it but if you use the wp7 style status bar.. and transparency.. it adds to the effect. also I'm also using Fede's wp7 music player which works excellent and it flows great with the the wp7 launcher.

The status bar is an option within the app settings.
Can anyone recommend a good todo/task widget that displays decently in this beautiful launcher?

Yes it is VERY AWESOME
Post like a newb. Mod like a dev.
I just wanted to share with you guys a little something else i just figured out
Basically, all i have to say is, I am awesome lol..
I relinked the twitter app to your twitter notifications, so that when you get a new twitter notification you can click on it and it will open the app right up!
(It was linked to twidroid, which is now shut down )
I can also change the action of the weather icon... Any suggestions people?
Here is the Twitter Fix package:
CWM2: http://www.mediafire.com/?py31x9p5052q5dk
CWM3: http://www.mediafire.com/?0fizt0tyfmoiamd
It flashes the services.jar file to fix the ticker notifications, and it flashes TickertapeHistory.apk to fix the actual app
Just Hit thanks
Found some other things out!
Any chance we could get Google+
Integration instead of MySpace?
-Sent from my Space-Time Continuum using the XDA Premium App
Well, that would be a little out of my reach.. Maybe if Samsung opens up third party support for the ticker, then maybe someone could do that
But, i can change the visual voice mail icon in the missed notification screen to a google voice icon, then have it open it up when clicked?
you should upload this .zip for everyone

Hi. First of all, thanks to everyone on xda for... well, everything. I've been referencing this forum a lot tonight while learning how to root and flash my Continuum which seems to be long forgotten by either Samsung or Verizon.
This is probably the topic that most interests me though, as two of the apps I use the most on my phone are "incompatible" with the ticker (since they aren't one of the few apps deemed worthy of the ticker when it was created and then not officially updated).
Like circa881, I use twicca. I'm in no way knowledgeable on modding Android (or anything for that matter), so I don't know how to modify your files to do this myself.
The other app I want to bring up is Trillian. I've had lots of problems with the built-in IM app and have been using Trillian for quite a while. Is there any way that Trillian's notifications can be displayed on the ticker?
This is a question, and possibly an FYI. Is this update compatible with the EC03 ROM put out by pastorbennett? I attempted to apply this twitter fix and after rebooting I got stuck in the Samsung logo loop. Any assistance would be appreciated.
Peace,
Ray

Hey Blazer, I know your pretty busy but, I was curious if you've had any luck with the EC07 fix for this? I'm puzzled why this feature is interchangeable with any facebook app but not twitter. Is it a filename issue or something?
Peace,
Ray
Are there really no other options for lockscreens other than the stock one? Wheres 4-tab? Hopefully someone makes a good rom with all the lockscreens.
If you just mean the photo displayed, use the gallery, hit the settings button and choose use as lock screen.
Also fyi the gallery does a poor job with the wallpaper, it doesn't crop it the way it should.
If you use the image viewer in esfile explorer however, it will work fine.
I read your post again....and no, there's not. I tried an app or two from the market, but didn't like any of them.
