Please help (Infuse possessed) - Samsung Infuse 4G

Here is my setup:
Latest MIUI ROM ported to Samsung Infuse
Thunderbolt! Tweaks (2.2.0)
OC'd to 1.6 Ghz (Not my problem, It's been OC'd for months)
This setup has been working for forever, But today it just seems that it won't boot into the ROM and I have not changed anything but install an app (Google TV Remote "Official") And my phone just boot loops somewhat "Plug in phone to power, phone boots by it self shows SAMSUNG text, Shows Galaxy Nexus loading screen, Lockscreen is only up for about 1 - 2 secs then it does a hard shutdown.
1: NO I haven't installed any mods or any other major cool things for my infuse for about 1 week, So yes it was FULLY working for 1 week with no problems.
2: Can't get into CWM either... (my battery is dead, can't use button combo)
3: Download mode works, Doesn't mean necessarily I want to use it though.
To sum it up my phone was working all day today, then I had to charge it up it was on maybe 3%, I come back just to check on it a hour later and it's rebooting itself over & over like it's possessed LOL.
By request I can upload a video on youtube..

It's a boot loop. Just go into Download mode, and get yourself back to stock and start over fresh.

You may have been oc for months but I assure u no minuit Tom is stable at 1.6...never has...eventually u will have issues...it is however extremely stable at 1.4...ands really...there is no difference in the speed or fiction between the two...that is in my opinion your problem...

I wouldn't go back to stock just yet...I've had this exact thing happen to me when I was on CM7, just boots to the lock screen then restarts. (not even a battery pull kept it from booting, it did it on its own) In my case all it meant was the battery was REALLY low. (I was driving home from college and couldn't charge it) Plug it in to charge and leave it alone for an hour or so...

Look at you going to all grown up! Well ill have you know. I go to college too! anyways. Odin and just back to your set up. Flash everything back shouldn't be hard, but do you really need to be OC. I rarely find the need to be OC.

Post what you were doing when your g2X locked up

I'm starting to keep a log every time my g2x locks up where I write down the date, time and what I was doing when it happened to get an idea of what could be causing it to happen and to get an idea of how often it happens.
If you want to do this as well, please post which rom you are using and which firmware.
So far, I've logged this once when I was opening a site in the android browser.
Using Cyanogenmod 7 with Gingerbread 2.3.4
About to get on star tours, pulled it out of my pocket to check mousewait.
lockedup
I have had re boots every now and then.
Freezes and screen locks just seemed to start last week, and now today, my phone seems to shut off the screen 30 seconds after boot.
The touch buttons work fine as well as the sound and vibrate. When I hold down the off button I feel it vibrate as it does when the menu pops up, but the screen does not show.
I'm kind of clueless what changed to make this happen.
bionix..
Listening to Pandora for around 30min. Turned on the screen to check battery level. Was getting low. Plugged it into the wall charger. Phone rebooted. Had headphones plugged in.
Turned off screen. Waited a minute. Usually worked.
G2x with faux AOSP and faux orange kernel. [email protected] 5107 quadrant.
I've been consistently logging what I was doing when the phone locks up (which is no more than once per day) and it seems that my G2X has always locked up while browsing in the android browser except for 1 instance where it locked up in the Firefox app.
Has anyone else noticed this as well ? I am keeping up with the latest builds of CyanogenMod hoping that these bugs will get worked out.
On the bright side, the problem where the audio doesn't work until you reboot the phone seems to have gone away. I guess that it's been fixed in the latest builds.

Glad I'm not the only one...
I just put the phone back in the box I bought it in.
I stopped using custom ROMS when streaming radios just lagged or skipped. Now granted, at least in Stock ROM, the radio stream lag and skips stopped. It pisses me of that Slacker Radio will not work on G2x. I tried almost ever ROM. I think its the phone or the silly app. The crashes/freeze, especially on stock android browser was the last straw for me.
I had it and locked it up until the LG updates the device.
On myTouch 4g until then.
I was texting and this POS just decided to lock up.
I went to unlock the screen and this POS locked up.
I was scrolling through apps and this POS decided to lock up.
Sorry for the agression but im borederline done with this phone, 3rd shipped one.
sleeping. or sitting at my desk not using the phone. I don't think I've had it lock/reboot more than once when I was actually doing something, but lately it's rebooting every night when I'm fast asleep (phone isn't plugged in) and sometimes during the day in my pocket.

Finally someone who is in the same boat as me. I'm trying all kinds of different things to pinpoint the cause because it's very obvious that it's related to some software that's time based - runs at specific intervals. I get either freezes in standby or reboots almost every night in the middle of the night - like 3-4AM or so. HOWEVER, I use the crap out of the phone during the day (every feature, kill it all) and it hangs tough and runs great. So it's not hardware for sure. Will post if I find anything.
I was dropping a deuce when it locked up.
Talking to Lil Wayne about global economics.

Unlocking the screen, charging off of AC or USB, texting, browsing, doing nothing sitting on my desk or in my pocket... umm... let's see... just about ANYTHING at any given time. Let's not forget the random reboots that happen multiple times a day and sometimes goes for 2 or 3 days without doing it. Battery pulls becoming more frequent then with my old BB. Getting to be ridiculous.
Let me not forget I have tried every damned kernel/ROM combo out there. Stock rooted, etc... on my third phone and they have all experienced the same problems. Different batteries as well both factory stock and aftermarket. At this point I am just waiting for LG to do something. If not when the SGS II comes out I will just get that and demand a refund from T-Mobile for selling me this wonderful brick of a phone.
Mine always locks up when in browser visiting xda forums. The progress bar hits 50% and everything freezes. I have to press power several times before it gets back to normal.
Guys,
Are you guys using CyanogenMod ? This was happening to me a lot on the stock ROM but since I upgraded to CyanogenMod, I've been having maybe 1 lock up per day but sometimes less then that. I'd really recommend trying it out if you aren't using it already.
My dog fell asleep on it and it must have overheated. I pulled the battery and it wouldn't boot past the CM7 lg boot screen. Luckily I had a nandroid of dark sinister 1.1. Bet it kept the pooch warm though.

[Q] Symptoms of a bricked phone? (related to all skyrocket users)

background info:
I am (or was) running MHX superlite 3.0 rom with romracers stockish 0.3 kernel.
UCLA3 modem and radio.
So today my phone decides to restart itself and never will load past the "first two"
samsung screens.
Once these "two" samsung logos pass by, the screen turns blank (not on)
and starts to vibrate with 1 second intervals.
The only way for it to stop is if I pull the battery.
Heres the weird part.
I tried to ODIN back to stock...once I put my phone into DOWNLOAD MODE.
The little android guy that says DOWNLOADING "dont turn off" will show for a millisecond and then the screen will shut off and start the vibrations. ODIN will not recognize the device either
So what I have is a phone that wont load past the samsung logos if the power button is pressed
AND
Download mode works, but the screen will turn blank and vibrations start buzzing.
My phone is having seizures. The only way to stop the vibrations is by pulling the battery.
I have accepted the fact that the phone may be done for.
It was a great 4 months together. tear*
Well, if you can't get it sorted out there's always this! Unless the hardware is busted, but maybe he can fix that too??

Did you try booting into recovery mode instead of odin?
Is that an overclock kernel? If so sounds like may be set to high. And did u choose set on boot.

OP... what rom/kernel/modem were you running before MHX-SuperLite? and what wipe process did you use prior to MHX flash?
Can you get into recovery and restore a backup?
If you don't have a backup and can get into recovery, try wiping data/cache, then go into mounts/storage and format system, data, and cache, then go to advanced and wipe Dalvic cache. Then power down and try to Odin back to stock again.
If this doesn't work, try another data cable or usb port on your machine (or another pc if this doesn't work). Maybe communication is getting lost due to bad usb connection...
EDIT: Are you saying you tried to Odin even though Odin wasn't recognizing your phone? That could be part of the problem. Try re-installing the Samsung drivers and see if Odin sees it then.
If you can get into download mode you aren't hard bricked yet...
I think he is saying that Odin recognizes his phone but his phone goes black before he can't start the reflash right?

Did we lose the OP'r? I was just getting ready to flash this ROM (MHX) but Jooosty has thrown up a curveball. Hope you get it resolved.
Okay sorry for late response.
But i was running skyice speed before hand.
Ive only used CWM to wipe data.
No OC or UV on this kernel.
Cant get into cwm or recovery. The screen turns blank before i can do anything at all.
Ive concluded its most likely a internal hardware failure maybe...
Going to try to sell for parts

I wouldn't give up just yet. I have never seen an instance of a hard brick where you could get into download mode. Try using Odin from another machine (preferably not a laptop).
If it's internal hardware failure then you have a defective product that is covered under warranty. Call support and get them to replace it (as a last resort of course--I honestly think you'll be able to get Odin to work if the drivers are properly installed and you have a solid usb connection).
EDIT: If you insist on selling it, please pm me so I can make an offer!

He already said Odin/connection isn't the problem. His phone won't stay on long enough for the communication to be made. According to what he said, it has nothing to do with machine/drivers/cable. He needs a way of keep the phone on long enough to make the connection, or somehow communicate with it another way. Unfortunately, I have no ideas. Although, I really hope someone does. That RussianBear guy seems to be onto something with communicating with the emmc without the phone being on... or something like that.

DUDE!!!! mine just started doing the EXACT same issue....SOB....
no cwm, no download, just reboots...i acn see cwm lettering for like 0.1ms then it reboots, and reboots every second...download mode, as soon as I choose continue, it goes into reboot loop.....
this is exactly what happened when it happened to my phone......
I went to hit the power button to lock the screen, was listening ot music on power amp. instead of screen locking, the power menu came up...hit back, and tried ot lock screen again? screen went black, 2 vibrates back to back....then saw sgh-i727r boot logo, then black and 1 second vibrate intervals.....
got it sitting in rice right now in case it got wet...battery litmus paper is good...only thing it may have gotten warm today, was working outside and it was 26° celcius....
I did drop it about 1.5 months ago and changed my screen about 3 weeks ago...unfortunately I broke the old lcd when removing the screen, I guess I didn't heat the glue enough...so I can't pop it back in and test to see if related...
I may take apart my phone in a bit and see if any liquid has leaked in...but I didn't get wet....
i think i'm going to order a gt-i9100 again, as I miss that phone.....

[Q] Bootloops after battery empties

Hi everyone, I've got a Nexus S 4g, SPH-D720.
This is the second time this happened to me: my phone's battery reached 0% and turned off, I turned it back on after plugging it in, and it turned off again for some reason. Tried to turn it back on, got stuck in a bootloop.
(I was running Apex 1.1.2 at the time that this happened, but it has happened before when I was on CM 9 v4.0 as well. The first time, I was using a calibrator app that told me I had more battery left than my phoen was displaying, so after it powered off I took the battery out and put it back in multiple times to see if the phone would turn on. It didn't. However, I did not do that this time, but the same thing happened.)
I tried clearing cache and flashing the same rom over the current one, but the loop persisted, and the only way to get my phone back was to do a data wipe/factory restore and reinstall everything from scratch.
The first time this happened, I had last backed my app up via Titanium 2 days prior. After the first time, I set Titanium to make backups every night, so the only thing I lost were a few text messages.
Now, I'm afraid to turn my phone if the battery dies in case this happens again and I have to erase everything. Is there any way I can figure out what the problem is? I suspect it is the ClockworkMod Touch Recovery (v 5.8.0.2), but has anyone else had this issue?
I appreciate you taking your time to read all the way through this.
What setting do you have cpu at? If its set too high your system cant handle the boot process correctly. If theres no power to handle the load itll reset itself. Wait until you get at least a solid bar or completely full and start your phone. Dont trust apps to properly tell you your battery percentage.
sent from nexus s running kangyu 2.2.1 rom/ 3.0.31 CM9 Ink kernel on xda premium
I forgot to add. The recovery is not causing the problem it has to do with battery and/ or rom/ kernel. And its not good for battery to constantly be run to zero. Thats why theres a warning to plug your phone in at a certain percentage.
sent from nexus s running kangyu 2.2.1 rom/ 3.0.31 CM9 Ink kernel on xda premium
Processor is set to 100 min 1200 max. Yeah, I did have the same kernel so that's probably it. I'll try not to turn my phone on until it's charged while off. Thanks!
(btw, the "app" I was using was a battery calibrator script)
Your welcome and i was having issues the same way and turned off set on boot and it didnt happen again. Some of these phones are touchy! im sure you know about scripting if you did it! Lol

Battery mode

Just grabbed Ann O1 after my vibrant OD'd on me. Updated to gb, used ROM manager to flash cwm 5.0.2.7, but when i flash any aokp roms, eventually the phone doesn't boot. Goes to the "LG" splashscreen, and then a black screen with a white battery shows up. Only way to boot back up is a factory/data reset. Am i supposed to only plug the phone in when it's on? Is this the known "offline charging" issue? Thanks in advance?
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA
Yes, thats a bug. I think it goes like this.
Earlier there was no offline charging support(when a switched off phone was charged, it booted right up, there was no support for charging in switch off mode).
To correct this they tried to implement this offline charging but it did not work like it should.
hephappy said:

The problem is in charger mode, cable pull out couldn't be detected, so you see charger logo again.
To fix: Pull out charger cable, wait 10 seconds, LONG PRESS (3-5 seconds) power button. If you see charger logo again, LONG press again. It will boot normally.

You could also try cm9 tinystream. This bug( weird offline charging support) is removed from it.
I've tried holding power from the battery screen again to boot, but it still doesn't boot. At this point, I'll just chill with the stock gb rom rather than have to deal with my tp2 when the O1 is borked lol. Makes me wish i didn't sell all 10 of the phones i had last year :-/... Yes,.I'm a recovering crackflasher!

I had this problem too, just reflashed my ROM, wiped everything. Didn't really matter to me.
I've been testing various roms and recently i'm using an ICS AOKP rom that is very fluid and stable. Due to the big rom size, I applied the data2SD tweak that came very handy to me.
The overall experience of ICS is addicting and I think than can no longer go back for the CM7 based roms anymore.
For the custom recovery I'm currently using the amonra 3.06 from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=844483 and no more problems have been shown since the CWM used before.

My phone just won't turn on

I switched off my phone for a day and then today when I tried putting it for charge (when the phone was still off) the battery charging sign came for just a second and then stopped. And since then my phone won't turn on.
I don't even know what to do since I don't know what went wrong. It didn't get wet, I didn't bang it anywhere...
The phone won't turn on so I can't get to download mode or recovery
I already tried letting it charge for about 1 hour but still nothing happens

2 reason first you battery is broken secind hard brick or sudden death
Do you have custom rom?
Sent from my GT-I8160P using xda app-developers app
It could be screen problem definitely, same happened to me, so i had to take it to Samsung's center where they gave me new Galaxy 3/Apollo.
It happens because of overclocking or underclocking even by undervoltaging your device. So next time take care.
Sent from my Galaxy SIV using xda app-developers app
My battery is relatively new (bought a year ago) and I didn't flash my phone recently.
I am using a custom ROM though. I haven't overclocked my device or undervolted it.
Hmm it's possible that the screen isn't working. I'll switch on the phone and try calling on it to see if it shows as switched off or if it rings. Then I'll come to know if it's a screen fault
I'll report back soon. Thanks!
