Hello Guys, share your experience on ICS based roms, which are firing up now, and please RESPECT all DEVs for the dedication.

no 360 degree panorama too,
but the biggest factor that switch back to gingerbread for me is the stock kernel.
Hope we could change custom kernel in future update
appreciate for releasing ICS
I use ARHD 5.0, while satisfaction. Music player falls: (
So far so good, installed RCMix last night, ran the ARHD script to remove sense and flashed a stock apps pack. So far its running smoothly, much better than I origionally expected.
Only issues thus far were the usual wallpaper bug which I worked around by using QuickPic to set wallpaper than Gallery. Not tried music yet though, loving ICS thus far though.
Using ARHD 5.0.1 for 4,5 hours now,
So far no big issues gallery and music player seem to work properly.

I am wondering if hw acceleration has been fully implemented yet coz all these roms feel very laggy to me..
Some great new features though.

Yeah, the sense ics ROM is a early test build, but has the gradient which makes it hw accelerated...But please acknowledge that this ROM is a test, so it should be laggy and slow. Also the 3.0 Linux kernel fixes the async performance issues, so no need to use system tuner; async architecture isn't meant to hve both CPUs running the same clock constantly.

would you please give me a link for this. Is this rome sense base. with or without sense ? I dont like sense UI. Tried ARHD 5.0.01 (with 195 applications packages ... ) I'm waiting Ultimate 1.0.4.0.1 here
well, I thought Sense was bloated before, but with the ICS Sense ROMs weighing in at ~400MB, they make all the previous one seem positively lightweight in comparison!

No direct linking to that ROM is allowed, but... http://lmgtfy.com/?q=sensation+tripnice
So do the HTC leaked roms have HWA? I was running Trips rom before, but have now switched over to To the Sense roms+Nosense script+StockApps.zip. I love the fact that a Camera finally works, but the Notification bar seems so out of place.
cant wait the official release, through its quite a dissapointment to see the UI look exactly like gingerbread, hope HTC will make the UI at least like true ICS experience(E.G sense 4.0 or heavy customized sense 3.5)and most important is full hardware accerlation

Using Mike's 5.0.1 ARHD
Stable and smooth, glad he got the SU stuff sorted.
My only minor issue so far is with the HTC Music player, but it could be down to my sd card. Just trying another re-formatted one, but otherwise VERY pleased with this early release.
Oh and the Original Sensation comes up as 1.2Ghz so looking to fix that asap.

So I just flashed my first ever rom (ARHD 3.6.2) and am loving the speed of this phone.
I have flashed a battery mod, extended power settings and custom boot animation and font but was wondering what other cool mods are available that people are using? ARHD compatible of course. Are other roms better for mods and themes?
I have seen a couple of screen shots where people have some toggle controls in the pull down notifications and extended control options in the quick settings, what are they?
List some recommendations here. Thanks!

Cm7 has an awesome built in theme changer which can change nearly every aspect of your phone without a reboot. You can download themes for it from both the android market and from "theme chooser themes" which is basically a market app just for cm7 themes. It's really cool because there are so many different ones like ice cream sandwich theme and they apply instantly.
And if you still don't find a theme you want, there is even a website called UOTKitchen that lets you easily make cm7 themes through their website and then it will make it and you can download your newly designed theme.
Also cm7 has the notification widgets you are thinking of which are also customizable.
If it's customization you want, look no further than cyanogenmod.
Yeah I'm gonna wait for a "proper" release of cm7 before trying it out. Do you know when that will be?

Keyan said it'll be quite soon. Though that's a relative term, and can mean anything from 2 weeks to a month.
Hey Sergey glad u like the ICS cm7 theme I just added the full black statbar and new pulldown bar last night if u haven't received the update notification from the market yet. And OP you should definitely go with at least a cm7 based rom, even an "experimental" RC or nightly will be more stable than most of the modded aosp you'll find. And it will come with more built-in features like the Theme Chooser app so you don't have to use a few dozen external apps and mods every rom install to achieve the same level of customizations
OK well I still prefer to wait for a full release, liking ARHD right now and honestly can't be bothered flashing a new rom and restoring all my apps and settings just now.

Lmao hahaha, that guy is just crazy for CM. If you look at his other posts (I see them all the time) He hates sense for some reason and would more than likely sacrifice his gf for CM on his phone. The things CM can do.. it also makes him type in that nasty cyan colour. I also skipped that!

There's also things like Volume Wake if you want that.. I don't like using my power button too much. Everything breaks!
U can flash the crt mod.. the apm or advanced power menu from android revolution. U can look in the theme section for a custom lockring. U also have thyparancy honey HD theme that's nice. I personally am currently using arhd 3.6.2 but I think that coredroid is probably the most unique rom out so far, do a backup and check it out.any way hope this helps

I just learned to flash/root too, tried several ROMS. One i liked the most is CoreDroid, especially the eyecandy.
And with ARHD used the crt/fonts. Used thyparancy themes/skins.
To do it yourself goto UOT Kitchen, make your own battery mod/overscroll glow/ fonts. I just tried it this week first time, aint hard at all. And outcome is nice.

I was thinking of jumping onto an ICS rom since they seem to have ironed out loads of bugs. Anyway, I have a question.
When you get a message and your phones screen is off, usually it's displayed on the lockscreen with the contact image in a little box window thing (at least on sense) anyway my question is this. Is this also on the ICS roms, if so are the contact images finally at a decent resolution or are they still the same old blurry pixilated cluster**** they've always been? thanks!

im using tab-mod v.4 ICS and its amazing everything is working absolutely everything, however someimtes not allot actaully rare but the rom can freeze when playing system straining games like modern combat 3 or gta III, other than that its amazing
though blindice 5.4 looks good but il never try it, it does have some bugs like most ICS roms
if you like ill give a list with links on the best ICS roms and how bugish free they are that i have used

A little about me: I am no developer, but I do like to learn about programming and android related stuff.
I saw the guide for these ports on the main xda page and decided to give it a go. I havent changed anything about the roms at all. They are straight ports.
LewaOS is working pretty darn well. maybe even better than miui!
Might have to restart for data to work though.
Wipe was necessary for me to get it to boot up. I recommend it for you.
AND! you will need to flash latest gapps.
JoyOS is working, but extremely laggy in some parts. Launcher for ex.

That would be fine, this is my first port ever. Not like I did much but it's a start.
I didn't try to update the other one since it was too buggy, but it might be because of the base rom maybe?
I'll give it a try. I like the status bar with those icons better anyways. I just need to learn how to port that to the LeWas rom.
Edit: Where did you get the base rom for the JoyOS? All I get is a forum where I need to register.
Good ports
Joy Os:
I noticed it was very sluggish. The camera was experiencing weird issues too. It works but the camera button doesn't show. Instead there are black boxes and its hard to explain. It makes the camera unusable. Data also doesn't work. It boots and runs without crashes so that's a start! I'm just trying to test and report as much as possible to help you out. Nice port.
Lewa Os:
SPEEED. This rom is incredible. Performs better than MIUI 2.2.25 so far. I like this a lot. Data works fine, camera works good, looks pretty nice. Good port! I like it so far. Will report back if I experience any bugs.
I'm currently working on my port, I noticed that I couldnt update the quickpic alas gallery on the rom. Also I want to deodex it.
Anyone else running this version? You need the new basebad for it.

As for joy os, you might be on to something with the sluggishness being related to the base. Ill look into that later.

I think support for live-wallpaper can be added easily, I just didnt add it cause I don't use them. I'm thinking on updating it soo, any problems reported that I can fix I will. Currently setting up a virtual machine with windows unless someone shows me how to edodex easily from linux.
Edit: I got support for live-wallpaper, added the default from CM7.2 also. Added Gallery3D until I solve the quickpic bug. Uploading soon.
Edit2: Some apps just forceclose, I'm going to remove them and replace them for CM ones.
Edit3: Filemanager changed to CM, camera changed to cm, priot update was working but some visual mistakes, calendar from CM added, before I coudlnt sync the calendar and it was in chinese anywyas, some other changes that scape my mind.
Should I open a new thread for this particular port?

I think the answer is not. If you want, you could install it as I have the new baseband. But if memory serves me right, support for the old baseband is broken on CM7.2 RC3 and up.

Yeah its MIUI ics 4.0.3/4.0.4. It's called MIUI v4 for short though
I have been using CM10 since I got my GS3, but I recently got myself stuck in Touch wiz land for a few days. I have discovered that I really like some of the features and that the battery life is phenomenal. The only problem is that I hate pretty much everything that Samsung did to the appearance of the phone. So, my question is, which of the tw based Roms for this phone keep the most of the stability/battery life improvements and features of the Samsung ROM while removing as much of the ugly theming as possible (I LOVE the stock android look, and am baffled that they felt the need to mess with such a beautiful thing.
Excellent question, I feel the same way, hoping for some enlightening answers.

Beans ROMs may be what you are looking for. It is a TW Rom but has the look of an AOSP Rom. I tried cm10 and other AOSP Roms as well. I love the look and speed of them. However, TW does have some nice features that I don't want to go without. CleanRom (tw) seems to be the most stable and quickest Rom for me. I just flash different themes and use apex launcher to get the look I prefer. Hope this helps.

Clean Rom 5.5.1 (JB) with Heinz 57 Theme is a must.
Fast, stable, as for battery life, its decent but not as good as Synergy r73 (ICS)

I think for a fair comparison, ppl who posted recommendation on this threads should ATLEAST tried most if not all roms before they can provide recommendation, if you only tried one, it's not possible to say it's best or good since you have nothing to reference against!! So before you post we would like to see at least have tried at least 3 or more before you recommend...(They are major players). Also mention what kernel you're running with the rom.
ROM:
1. Synergy
2. CleanRom
3. Executioner
4. H311s Rally Stock
5. CM10
Happy hunting and happy New Year to everyone!!!
Beans and cleanrom are great. Keep your eye on synergy thread though. Latest build should drop in a day or two.
Beans 7 is pretty darn good.....the newly ported rom "goodness" isn't bad either, they're being updated and fixed pretty regularly
I have tried all listed above and others like beans and superwhiz . I like the look of beans the best, however cleanrom 5.5.2 with lean kernel seems to be the most stable and quickest combo for me. Definitely going to try the new synergy when it drops.

I have found that the Eclipse ROM is the best. Its super smooth. Hotspot is enabled. I've flashed a lot of ROMs and run Vellamo benchmark and Eclipse always scores 300 points higher than all other ROMs. You really have to do your own research and flash them yourself. Happy Flashing!

Rom ?
I've flashed a ton of ROMs over the past couple of days and the thing is I'm missing something important to me (it's dumb I know) and it's Facebook contact sync, it just doesn't seem to work on ANY of the ROMs I've tried.
Is there a ROM out there that is basically a "pure" Android 4.2.1 + Samsung TW? That's what I think I'm looking for. I'm really sick of the neutering that VZW does to the OS other than that I like what Samsung does (mostly).
Thoughts?
clean rom le 4.5 has proven to be by FAR the best. number one on battery life. (i streamed an hour of pandora on 4g and lost 2% battery.
clean rom is also super quick. (bloons tower defense doesnt think about laggin until you get into the 90s haha if you know what im talking about)
clean rom also has the best layout in my opipion.
i have mine running with "kinda crap mods" http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1818800 which i highly recommend!!
next i would suggest Synergy rom. but the battery life is noticeably less.
all of this is of course an opipion. but being the flash-a-holic i am, it is just from my experiences.
unfortuneitaly i havent tried 4.2 roms because they put me in a Roaming state. where i have to flash back to stock. so i stay with TW.
Beans 8 just dropped. . Very nice!
Verizon S3, running which ever tw rom I've decided to flash today. .

I highly recommend Beans Build 8. It's very solid, offers great battery life, and plenty of customization as well.:good:
I would recommend one of two: cleanrom version 5.5.1 or superchargedwiz. Both are excellent Roms, and stable enough to use everyday.

The point of the nightlies is to update small things at a time sorta for testing purposes. Some nightlies maybe able to flash over each other. These may be used as a daily driver as these are stable! If you are wanting FULL releases then please visit the other thread with full release downloads (These are not updated quite as much but may have more features!) Feel free to post a bug below and I will try and fix in a future release. Also if you are an experience developer and you would like to help develop for me then please just PM me. I am always looking for more team members.

Mr Droid premium,
The june 9 nightly which is updated with those S4 tweaks in the changelog is not present at all. The themes are like the previous only and not a bit changes at all,in fact ,I did a complete factory rest and installed the rom.I would like you to update the nightly again with those changelogs properly mentioned. All the wifi icons and battery etc whatever mentioned is like the June 2 nightly which i was using. Also the nexus boot animation is not a the centre ,its again towards the right side.I would like you to work on battery and themes and then put up and update ,I know you are working hard and I appreciate your effort.I am currently using the june 9 nightly and rest everything is fine and i possible remove those micromax apps and all the best.
Eagerly waiting for your next nightly.I would be posting suggestions to you as and when i try out your new nightlies.
Regards.

Review About this rom..
Hi Droid Premium,The rom is fast.. and good.. audio quality is awesome.. there few things which you can change.. the battery symbol is not good.. no touchwiz ui or options like u mentioned.. wats the use of torch app?? .. remove all the micromax apps.. they are of no use.. u can put ext to int swap directly into this rom.. then.. there is no shut animation itself.. change the bootanimation.. its not gud.. its better to put the stock ics bootanimation tiles one.. rest all the rom is awesome!!!

As far as S4 theme goes I can only theme the Stock Launcher and stock APPs! Thus meaning that only small things can be ported. Nothing to big right now. And I will work on all the other stuff in the next release!

As you have answered the previous post. As,the other guy, rishiandri said ,apart from those things, the multitasking ability of this rom isnt good, when i play music in walkman and also play a game like temple run ,it stucks a lot.I would like you to improve on that. Also the boot animation as I had mentioned before, its not centred ,it is displayed towards right side.Either remove it or make it proper. Also remove those micromax apps ,especially that torch light, because Micromax A89 doest have a flash light, replace with a screen light.Remove micromax apps also ,use more sound mods and make it better.
Can you bring an option for themes in settings like we have on Cyanogen mod roms.If possible try it.And please do remove the micromax apps,it not good at all.Rest all are good ,we want next nightly with more improvements as mentioned by me and rishiandri. We know you will do it.:good::good:
All hail Droid Premium.
Eagerly waiting for your next nighty.

Expecting more future awesome releases

Hey Mr.Droid premium,
I have noted one thing that Micromax A89 has linux kernel version 3.0.13 whereas Xperia tipo has kernel 3.0.8 only ,but xperia tipo custom roms battery life is too good, with a good usage it stands easily for almost 48 hours. So,with an updated kernel ,we should be having better battery life, isn't it? Can you explain me?
i expect your reply to my two posts soon.
Thanks.

ah.. the xperia tipo is only a 800mhz single core processor also with only adreno 200 gpu.. also it has 1500mah.. which is better than a89's battery which 1450mah... the Qualcomm MSM7225AA architecture.. is meant to have less battery consumption. The micromax a89 has lot of heating issues which makes the battary drain faster.. and i think micromax has used some local low capacity battery and renamed it as 1450mah.. :crying: .. the kernal doesnt matter so much about the battery drain.. some people reported that some galaxy battery. similar ones.. have been giving a way battery life to the mobile.. so if u go to the market.. you can try batteries which fit.. and it would be better ..

Hey dude,
I accept your suggestion ,but kernel updates are provided for greater web based application support, smoothness ,better graphics rendering and all other internal app operations are due to the kernel or core files. So we are having a dual core processor ,so there must be better multitasking and low battery usage when not needed based on the kernel. But, as you said, apart from these the quality of battery is also important where micromax is really too bad.So there must be some way,Lets see what our Droid premium has to give us in his next update.
Also, the galaxy battery you told doesnt work,it has mostly given more heating issues and its common sense. How can some other battery which is not tested for this device work as expected? Some even say,its a rumour and not fit at all.?
Lets wait for Droid premium's next update.

yea lets wait for the next update.. but my device stand by time increased a lot.. did u try mtk6577 governor changer? ondemand keeps the phone's core idle.. and it saves lot of battery.. a custom kernal would do the job.. lets wait for the next update :good:
