ok so out of no where my phone started flashing the boot screen i tried to odin it but it failed and it is now flashing a phone and a computer with a yellow warning sign in the middle how do i fix it if i can
also i cant get into recovery or download mode
You can still odin from the screen with the Yellow triangle on it. Try odin again, make sure that you put in the pit file, and that the odin package goes into the pda slot.
i cant odin it because the yellow triangle screen flashes so the phone is rebooting like every 5 seconds
The phone shouldn't reboot with the yellow triangle, are you sure you're holding down the trackpad and down vol buttons when turning on the phone (download mode)?
i cant turn the phone on as soon as i put the battery in the phone shows that screen and then 5 seconds later it goes off then 5 seconds comes back on ao so forth
Is this the screen you're seeing?

yes and that screen keeps flashing on and off
Have you tried this:

So by reading this, I assuming that Odin did recognize it before and then failed during the flash. You didn't unplug it before it was finished, right? It can take a while sometimes (and seem longer when something is kinda broken).
SD- Do you think his bootloader might have been corrupted somehow?
Try the Heimdell like SD suggests. Adam's stuff is great. If it fails, do it again, I have had to do it multiple times to get a phone right again (Guy I know flashed a wrong rom onto a different model phone with the wrong bootloaders-- hence using the heimell to load the correct ones onto it).
can i get a new bootloader then

There should be an option in Heimdall that you check for bootloaders. IF it is diminshed at first, run heimdall normally, and when it fails, it should be selectable. If this doesn't work out, there is a possibility of a hardware issue. If it works, make sure you hit thanks for Adam and SD for helping out...
my phone wont stay connected
any other help guys
If it won't stay connected long enough to flash in odin or heimdall then no, you have no other options.
thanks for trying guys
ok just found out my phone is hardware locked if it helps any of you guys

so yeah i got my first replacement after the first time this happened... i tried flashing krylon360's rom with odin but got a fail at factory.rfs. keep in mind i am in no way shape or form a noob with odin, i have brought many of my buddies' devices back to life, but for some reason even though i use a USB jig ( which works in my captivate and personally tested and working on the SGS4g before the unrecoverable soft brick) any help please i dont want to have to send it back to t-mobile again... they already charge 10bucks just for shipping.

Hmm I'd say if the USB jig didn't work, you're not soft bricked. That's a hard brick.
What kind of USB jig are you using?
Was it a ROM or a kernel you flashed? which one, version etc.?

donation rewards for anybody that can help! lol this is depressing, my old captivate isnt this sensitive and has been through hell and back, but this SGS4g.... im dissappointed in.
Uninstall all the drivers for the phone make sure you have the right ones also, and try plugging it into a usb 2.0 slot then run it again, this seemed to work for me. I ran into the same issue I plugged in my jig but it gave me a black screen, but odin recognized it and I flashedthe kd1 update and it was fixed. Hope this helps

If the computer is not recognizing the phone being plugged in, how is ODIN going to be able to process? I don't know if mine SGS4G is irrepairable but when I plug it in to the computer, it will not even show up on device manager. The drivers have been installed in the past and I have used ODIN before.
When I try using ODIN now it won't work since it won't recognize the phone.
I have used JIG and simply will not buzz. It's pretty much as dead as if the phone is not even on.
Any help guys??

If its currently in the state which I'm assuming..
-won't turn on, no sign of life period...
-plugging it in the wall charger won't even show the green battery status...
-won't get recognized when plugged into pc (or odin)...
-all combinations of buttons and battery pulling+usb cable plugging does nothing...
Yea I think its safe to say it went to a land far far away just like my friend's phone and only Samsung can revive it now.. Because I remember reading all the stories how everyone brought theres back to life so easily with the button combos or the jig usage, but those phones all at least showed a sign of life with that cable screen. But if its pitch black like I'm assuming then...
Same here. The jig didn't seem to work - I still got the cell + comp but odin worked anyway and reflashed stock. It's probably better to run Odin off a desktop if you have one.
That screen scared the holy hell out of me a couple of days ago. I ended up having to re-install the samsung drivers for windows 7 and then odin picked the phone right up. The reason I *knew* the phone was recoverable from that screen was simple, though:
I read the screen. It wouldn't be telling you to try something in Kies if you couldn't do anything at that screen. So, I just kept ****ing around trying different things until it worked.
*I* have personally noticed that that screen tends to come up when you accidentally or inadvertently select "Re-Partition" on a rom/image that's not setup for it, or if for any reason your phone gets disconnected or powered off during the flashing process.

I second this. I have been running into this screen while trying to install root from the 2.3.4 leak. I have had black screen, fuzzy screen, random pixel screen. In most cases I have been able recognize the phone using odin. A few of the key steps that I have used to get the phone recognizable in odin are:
1. If the computer says "usb not recognized" when initially plugging in the phone, uplug it and plug it back in. Most of the time when I do this the phone is recognized as samsung device.
1b: If odin now recognizes the phone after running through step 1 I will try to flash the files again. it will usually fail after trying to load the flash files on the first try. I have to mess around with this process a few times and I can usually get a successful flash.
2. I had an case when having to deal with this problem yesterday. I was running through steps 1,1b and not having success. Odin was hanging, (I forget which step). I let it sit for about 10 minutes and was still hanging. I unplugged the phone with odin still hanging pulled battery, powered on, plugged back in. Odin, which was still open and still trying to connect, continued its already started process after plugging it back in!!! This was an accident to still have the odin running and trying to connect, but after reconnecting the phone it successfully flashed!

These kind of observations are especially helpful! I can concur that I get the same <phone..!..pc> error, when odin tries to flash and gets a write fail, however, I do not have the "re-partition" option set. I then have to run through my previously mentioned steps to try to get a successful flash.
My question is what can i do to keep odin from failing to write when flashing?? I have only been using PDA packages, with the exception of using discrete packages (pit, csc, phone, pda) when loading the 2.3.4 rom leak.
It seems like the flashing write error in odin in causing the <phone..!..pc> error quite often with different flash processes. Does anyone have a solution to what might be causing this write error and what can be done to prevent this whole cycle? If so I sticky or new thread might be useful for other users. It has caused to have to warranty my first phone, urrrg!
Scariest feeling ever........ Not seeing your phone come up on Odin.

I had the same issue yesterday, when I tried to flash KD1 vanilla (stock) ROM
using ODIN, it failed the first 4 seconds, it boots into fuzzy looking screen and
that's it, every time I tried to boot it the fuzzy screen fades away to pitch black.
there is 2 possibilities that messed up the whole thing for me:
1) Bad ROM.. (i.e, can't be used with ODIN) although some members said it works
but don't know if there anything special to do before hand, if I want to downgrade.
2) Samsung Kies' fault, I installed just right before I used ODIN, and told me my
device is not registered.. hmm.
It could be both cases, but I suspect Kies the culprit, I had to uninstall it, and
uninstall the drivers came with it, installed the drivers found here in these forums,
and Odin recognized a COM port, although black screen on the phone, flashed
to KH1 and I am back to business. phew..
GB is awesome, but I can't stand the weak WIFI issue even with the latest KH1
I have to stand 3 feet away from my router to get a solid signal, with froyo
vanilla rom, I was able to connect like 50 feet away. but that's another problem
not for this thread.
Heh funny thing I read today in some thread, there is a conflict between Kies and
Odin after the incident happened. my fault for not reading a lot, jumping the gun
almost cost me the phone :/
My phone has been all screwy for months. I recently given up on it and bought a new phone but it irritates me that I still cannot fix this old phone.
After attempting to flash a new rom onto my phone everything went wrong. When I attempted to reboot the phone the phone showed the SAMSUNG screen then goes to CWD for recovery. I cannot fix this at all. Eventually I decided to run GTG's Ultimiate Unbrick thinking that Odin3 would fix my situation. It continuted to give me FAIL with every attempt. Now, the phone won't even show the SAMSUNG screen or the recovery screen. It just stays black... What can I do? Junk it? Is it permanently broke.. This is so upsetting.
Are you still able to access download mode? If so then i would try Heimdall this time using THIS flash file. Flash it once, let it reboot, then shutdown and go to download mode again. Flash once more with the "flash bootloaders" box checked. Has always worked for me when i screw something up due to not paying attention.
If you cannot access download mode WHAT-SO-EVER, i'm afraid i am unable to help.
Good luck

Tried today to put it into download mode. The screen flashes on completely white and back off. I can hear it connecting and disconnecting from the computer repeatedly. Im guessing there is nothing at all I can do from here. This really sucks.

Does it connect and disconnect by itself? If it does then sounds like a hardware issue. If you can get it to connect to your computer open the JAR flash file which will open Heimdall after a few seconds (10-20). Once it's open press the Vol-Up button on your phone and see if Heimdall can see it (should say "Connected" in green at the bottom right).
Give it to me lol I'll fix it

I had something similar happen to me a long time ago. I would try to put it in download mode and the screen would do something but then just shut off. I pulled up heimdall and it said it was connected. I might have just gotten lucky. Give it a try though.
I have been using android phones for a long time, and used odin before, so I have no idea what is going on here. I was attempting to root my phone using the downloads and info in the sticky here, and now my phone won't turn on. I put the phone in odin mode, it was detected, i flashed the bootchain (step 1) in the PDA section, the screen went blank, odin said "Reset" in the first box, and sat there for a long time. Then it said pass, but there was still nothing on the screen. I waited a bit, but eventually unplugged it and tried to turn it on. I can't get any button combination to work, no recovery, odin mode, or normal powerup, no response if I plug in usb or the charger, the only thing I can get is if I plug the charger or usb in with no battery, the red light will come on for about 15 seconds, then go off. I really am afraid I bricked my phone somehow the first day I got it, and now I'm leaving on a business trip tomorrow and need to get this sorted tonight.
Am I out of luck, or is there something I'm missing?
How exactly did you try to enter recovery mode? I know that when I did this and i attempted to enter recovery i let go of the home and volume up too soon and the same thing would happen to me. Also make sure you are using odin v3.07
Did you verify the md5 signature of the file on your pc before you flashed it in Odin? If not, you should check it now. Could have been a bad download. Knowing what caused the brick can help us figure out how to fix it
I was recently trying to Flash Marshmallow onto my Samsung Galaxy Tab S2. Model # SM-T713 Everything was going smoothly until the cable disconnected the device in the middle of the flash! Now my tablet is stuck in the download mode screen, with a progress bar that is painfully close to finished, but not quite, frozen on the same level. And Odin is still open, after it happened it obviously read "Failed" on the progress box above the port #.
So I hit the "Reset" and "Start" buttons again, respectively. But every time I do that, it gets stuck on "Setup Connection" ... one time it got as far as "boot.img" but then froze again.
I'm really scared that because of a touchy cord, I may have just ruined a 300 dollar tablet that I just bought... Someone please help! I don't want to turn off or restart the computer or the tablet until this issue is resolved, for fear of bricking it further...
Did I screw it up completely? It was going so well.... (((
Hi!
Don't worry it also happened to me the first time I flashed a new firmware (my luck xD)
The only thing you have to do is unplug, force shutdown your device, and power it again. It will show you a screen to tell you that something is wrong (A phone plugged to a computer with a warning triangle if I correctly remember...)
In fact you still in Download mode. You just have to retry the flashing operation and THIS TIME BE CAREFUL WITH THE CABLE....

Powering down then booting to download again then flashing again should work fine.
But if the faulty flash corrupts boot and then prevents booting to download mode or the "encountered a problem" screen with the phone, triangle and PC, you'll be in a more difficult situation.

So one day I decided to flash custom ROM onto my Samsung galaxy Tab 3 Lite (SM-T110) and I used Odin and was new to the whole Rom flashing thing, and so It messed up during flashing and I was stupid and unplugged my tablet and now it is stuck in the download mode saying "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue, please use KIES and try again" something along those lines, and I tried looking it up and tried to fix it, like holding down power button and hard rebooting, didn't work, which now, every time I plug it into my pc to try a flash factory ROM and it keeps turning on and off on the error screen. So can someone help? I cant take it apart because I am using a screwdriver and it is damaging it, to try and take out battery and put it back in, and I'm not buying one of those plastic tools, I want to but, its just for another reason why I can't, So can anyone help? ok I fixed it, using this link https://www.full-repair-firmware.com/2017/11/full-firmware-t110.html
ok good
But it made it a different language upon setup but I can change to English, but it installs like 4 applications every time I reset it and boot it up, I can uninstall them, but its annoying, and the app called calendar or is supposed to be, is called s planer, I don't like it so I'm trying to find a stock ROM for it so it is back to normal.
