Kind of on topic, one great tip for the SR is to tap and hold on the status bar and slowly slide left or right to adjust brightness levels on the fly. Love this phone!

Need help regarding automatic brightness levels tweaking

Hi all experienced cooks here, can I ask, how do I edit the automatic brightness levels manually, because on cm7 I've already set my values and I'm thinking of coming back to arhd, but I'm not sure if this is possible? Much help is appreciated!

this is the wrong place to ask questions man.. this thread will probably be moved soon..
if u want to adjust auto brightness on sense roms, it's a lot more complicated than on cm7, i believe u have to decompile framework-res.apk and edit /res/values/arrays.xml. But to what values specifically, u're on your own..

Here's a small guide by enf70: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=10660706&highlight=auto-brightness#post10660706
He's describing the procedure for leedroid's rom but it's just the same for arhd.
Important note: a lot of themes include changes in the framework-res.apk, so if you want to use a theme make sure that either the framework-res is not touched or change it again based on that guide.
btw: could you share your settings for cm7? I'm using it now and it'd be much appreciated.

With the default levels of brightness I edited the 3rd column values to
1
20
35
40
45
50
55
60
65
75
85
140
These are my values for relatively energy saving xD so the screen in normal conditions with brightness at around 15-25% then in sunlight it will go to about 55%, because you don't really need 100% brightness to look at words, you can edit them accordingly to your needs
Note, tick the Allow light decrease, so that when the conditions are not that bright, it will decrease screen brightness according to the levels you have set, and the decrease levels I've set it to 70%, working qquite well for me
Hope this helped!

[MOD] (6)Lockscreens + Power Menu + Clock Options + Accurate Batt for Trigger

Here is the mod as posted by corradokng HERE. I simply added an accurate clock using UOT Kitchen. The full battery color is a nice blue, and it shows the current percentage while charging. Hope you like it, and thanks to corradokng for the original post!
Download HERE
looking good! thanks!
Does this have the lockscreens?
yes U should try it out
Does it work with our GB deodexed version? I want the black status bar too.
Not sure...
I have not installed GB yet (I am waiting for CWM first), but I think this was designed for KD1. You can try if you like, but there is no way to back up your install ATM, so it is pretty risky.

Works great, many thanks! How does one pick the lock screen? Been looking around various settings, but I'm not exactly sure where it is.

[WIDGET IDEA] MIUI Battery Bar Widget

http://dnbr.org/other****/batterybar%20widget.png
Hi guys.
Back when I was using my Desire HD I'd rooted my phone and installed Miui. My favourite feature was the battery bar that ran across the top of the notification bar (see http://fc03.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2011/222/f/b/wip__by_chrisbanks2-d464k4m.png)
Anyway, now I'm on GNex and I totally miss this feature. I was wondering if something like a 4x1 widget that could display a battery line along the top of the widget to be placed on the top of a page as I've photoshopped above. The first image shows a 100% battery and the second 40%.
Anyway, just an idea someone might wanna follow up I certainly wouldn't mind paying a couple of quid for this and I'm sure other people would agree.

Look at chronotopia app... You can make battery bar widget with it (custom colors) its nice app but you need to read some guides in the topic about how to make this widget. Hope this helps

I had done this before when I switched from miui back to CM7 on my Incredible, but it gave my phone a lot of problems. I would love if an app like the OP mentioned were made, I really miss this from miui.

Ah just tried this. It works well though the colour scheme is a bit iffy. Wasn't aware that something like this was possible as a standalone app

Big THANK to you noranyan for giving us this link !
I was looking for a MIUI-like Battery Bar for days, and now, it's done !
So thank you !
@kaineshutler : you're right, the color sheme is a bit iffy, but stay tuned because perhaps the dev will implement a color selection in the future...
Recently, he added the ability to put the bar on bottom.
So it means that the dev is still working on it !
Thanks for pointing this battery app out. Probably would have never found it. Hope the dev keeps updating it.
On thing I noticed good or bad is that the battery bar is always shown in any app so far, even games. I like it because some games do not show battery, and this is pretty unobtrusive.
How to remove battery from status bar now? Is the only way a smali edit?

You can customize the height, location and color of the bar with this.

Reduce screen voltage??

So is there a way to reduce brightness further than the stock settings? It seems all the ROMs are too bright in a dark room. Is there something I can adjust in a file or is a kernel the only way? I have added "ro.lcd_min_brightness=0" to the build.prop but it's still not enough. I'm not looking to use an app with a filter to do the job. I just want to do it the proper way. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!
Edit.
doesn't seem to work. Sorry, I just got this phone.
Have you tried AdjBrightness?
I used to use it on my dx but sometimes the setting wouldn't stick on reboot.

I see what you saying but I really don't want another service running in the background. This also won't drop the screen voltage and will lose the nice contrast ratio we have. I really want to drop the LCD lighting voltage.

You could decompile framework-res and adjust the auto brightness setting to your own liking. I've done that. Used a guide here on xda somewhere, give it a try. You do need adb set up and 7zip and notepad++. But its fairly simple.

Great thanks! Definitely going to give it a shot. I had a Bionic before this GS3 and everything was far more difficult or impossible to tweak. That darn locked bootloader.

Lockscreen clock

Just had this phone a couple days and love it but it's a bit of a learning curve from other phones lol.
Just wondering if there is anyway to change the design of the lockscreen clock?
Any help appreciated
No I don't think you can change the lockscreen clock only the always on display clocks.

I'm sorry I misunderstood, no, I am afraid you cannot change the clock. Maybe for an analogue one?
Not so sure now?
