I'm trying to understand what is the difference between 2.3.4 and 2.3.5 and if the second one is newer why developers make Roms with 2.3.4?
Second question is whether 2.3.4 works only with 3.0 sense and 2.3.5 with 3.5 sense? it's possible to combine between them?
And last one what android version and sense version came with the original sensation, the XE and the XL?

Hi,
Sense 3.0 = 2.3.4
Sense 3.5 = 2.3.5
Sense 3.5 ROMS are made from a leaked HTC version,therefore still prone to errors and not really a FINAL.
Sense 3.0 is official and therefore more stable.
The only way to truly see the difference is to try it for yourself.
Make a nandroid backup and take the plunge.
There are SOME instances of mixing Sense 3.0 and 3.5,but they are still in their infancy.

I just saw in wikipedia that there are htc devices with sense 3.5 (like sensation XL) so the 3.5 sense shouldnt be final and stable?

Hi,
Stable and final for XL,maybe,but not for our phone.
There is no port of XL on our phone.
The two are not compatible.
Different hardware .

You upgrade by flashing a ROM with Sense 3.5. Go to the ROM thread and you'll find loads of them to try.

i flashed:
[ROM] Android Revolution HD™ 3.6.8 XE | 4.1.8 Sense 3.5 | High Quality & Performance
and it says HTC sense 3.0 ..
i need to flash :
Android Revolution HD based on HTC Sensation "non-XE" HTC base
Based on 2.08.401.1 HTC test leaked ROM with HTC Sense 3.5 for HTC Sensation
to have HTC sense 3.5 ??

There are two ROMs in that thread. Sounds like you flashed 3.6.8 which the thread says is a Sense 3 ROM. You want the 4.1.8 ROM to get Sense 3.5...it is in the 3rd or 4th post. Or try one of the other ROMs that say they include 3.5

I deffently reccomend Elagancia rom. Fastest and most stable sense 3.5 ive used.
And its nicely themed

Has any one tried integrating Android 2.3.7 with Sense 3.5 for HTC Desire S ? I know CyanogenMod 7.1 comes with Android 2.3.7. It would be great to have Sense 3.5 with it.
No, can you not just check yourself? Look in the development section.
And tell me, what advantages do you see with 2.3.7 compared to 2.3.5?

I read somewhere that HTC will release an ics whit sense 4.0 for sensation and sensation xe in europe.
Can someone give me the link where I can check?
It's not Sense 4.0.
We will get official Sense UI 3.6 / 3.5 and ICS.

we will get ICS and sense 3.5 but someone will obviusly port any sense 4.0 device rom
Nobody knows which Sense version is DEFFINATLEY releasing with ICS. Though 3.6 is likely.

As far as I know, there is no official (i.e. RUU .exe version) of any firmware from HTC that includes sense 4.0 for the Sensation. HTC have only released Ice Cream Sandwich (android 4.0.x) with Sense 3.6 for the Sensation. In fact so far the only HTC phones with Sense 4.0 are the One series - One X and One S (I don't know about the One V). Custom ROMs that you see here on xda for the Sensation that include Sense 4.0 are using parts of the ROM from the One S to get it.

So I been wanting to upgrade the wife's phone to a different ROM but I noticed that most of the ROMs I want to use has Sense 4.x in them where hers is 3.6. Is it still possible to use those ROMs? Would it upgrade HTC Sense, or will it just fubar the phone?

Check out Elegancia Rom...it still have a 3.6 version. Elegancia is the best Rom ever, so just read OP and flash it

use Android revolution hd (ARHD) it has sense 3.6 rom and faster than anyone..
but in my opinion you should try the sense 4 as its best and better than sense 3.6.

Ha so I'm guessing that it's a yes that I can safely upgrade from 3.6 to 4. VIPERS was one of the roms I was looking at.
So go for it....and experience lots of tweaks ...

Sense version is not the same as android version. There's no additional issues in flashing a sense 4 ROM from 3.6.

officialy you can't
but unofficialy yes
you have to root first and flash a custom recovery
after that you must flash a custom rom which has sense 4 from recovery
