This is a great app that will remove all(i do mean all) the apps installed on your phone, including system apps. Its not free, its only $1.02 but worth every penny.I notice alot of roms do'nt include bloat remover, unless they remove it themselves, there are a couple that offer bloatware removal tool, like MikG 3.0.
Features....
Backup/Restore
Uninstall
Enable/Disable Apps

this one does the same thing (exactly)
and the price is right 0.0$$
Can I remove all the Carrier IQ stuff with this app? will it cause force closes?

Ciq needs to be also removed from code framework files and specific apks as well. So short answer Is no.
But you can use this to remove some files like the carrieriq app itself. But keep in mind most up to date roms have Ciq removed.

Interesting point, Tommy. I mean, if you remove the CIQ apk itself, wouldn't that render all the dependencies useless?
Also, Root Explorer is my System App Remover.

Looks like airpush ( http://www.airpush.com/ ). Install any new apps recently? Have any apps that ask for these permissions:
INTERNET
READ_PHONE_STATE
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED
Click to collapse
plus optionally these:
VIBRATE
ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION
ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION

Of those the boot completed one would stand out the most. One way to try and find out would be to reboot the device and then immediately check what apps are running before doing anything else.

What apps do you have installed? When you find the one doing it post the name of it so everyone can report it as malware
I hacked up a simple app that will search for installed apps using airpush: http://kllrnohj.com/android/FindAirpush.apk
(for those so inclined, the is source here: http://kllrnohj.com/android/FindAirpush.zip )

Ok it's an app called "easy filter call and SMS blocker" which had now been removed from my phone.
It does mean I now need to find a new way to block my mum's calls and texts.

There are tons of call blockers out there, have you tried the root call blocker app? Not sure if it blocks sms as well, but I've heard great things about it. You can always use Handcent or another SMS app and blacklist the numbers you want to block.

Thank you for this great service.. You've helped me regain my sanity!
Until we get permaroot/S-OFF... as we all know... the easiest way of getting rid of bloatware is freezing an app through terminal/terminal emulator. This app makes it quite a bit easier by providing an API for freezing and unfreezing apps. Requires temp-root of course, but it works amazing!

I'm guessing this is the same has doing 'pm disable [package]' through adb?
Can't you just do this with titanium backup?

You can if you paid for it. This is a not a feature in the free version.
And to reply to the previous poster, yes it is the same as pm disable but easier with a GUI.

Didn't try those app as I simply use 'System Tuner' to uninstall unwanted system apps, and freeze Google Maps which keeps restarting and consuming CPU while I don't need it most of the time!
You can check the app there:
XDA
Android Market
Dev web site
Thank you. Already wrote 50% of code to do it by myself while googling for technical rpoblem found you did it already . (but i will reuse my code for other things )

Since you mentioned it - you are using System Tuner so I believe you possibly use it's backup feature too? Can it replace Titanium functionality? (and thanks for the tip that System Tuner has freezing too - it's interface has so small fonts that it's completely unusable for me without glasses or magnifying one, but at home it will be usable.

When you use "pm disable/enable packagename", you lost the settings...?
I use it too, but when I unfreeze, for example Dropbox, I need to reenter all data in the start session, like first time to use.
Why this happend?
This spams my notification and status bar when a. I restart phone or b. I turn off all radios and the enable again.
It has to be a third party app I have. Anyone else seen this before? Antivirus programs don't see anything wrong.
Thanks.

I would use droidwall and disable apps that you think is the problem. There is no way for you to know that it works unless it reproduce it self i think there is also another firewall app that does dynamic blocking but it is still buggy Hope you find the root of the problem.
I had that problem on my other phone when I had an mp3 downloading app. Do you have of those installed? I would check that out.

ok i had the same problem heres how to fix it go to the market and download "airpush detector" install it and run it. what it will do is pull the app/apps that are causing the issue then you can just uninstall them.
You def have a rogue app somewhere.
Look through /data/app folder for anything that you don't recognize or looks suspect. Also look through you Application Manager. If you don't remember installing it, unistall it...the worst thing that can happen if it was something you use is you lose you settings. I think that is worth it to prevent possibly losing your identity (not trying to scare you)
Yep I have a mp3 downloaded app. Uninstall!!

Yep, I thought so. Thats what I had on my old phone.
I have it. No mp3 app, though. Spam is lame as hell.
I don't know if there is a thread already for this. Can anyone list the apps and bloatware that are safe to freeze using titanium backup on the stock rom...

Download Scott's clean Rom, much easier then doing it yourself. Completely stock, debloated, tweaked, and nice mods if you want them.

Additional debloat!
A helpful tool I use to clear up space and make the system faster is an app called "DiskView", downloadable free from Play Store. It analyzes all partitions and lists directories/files and a percentage bar of how much space they're taking. With this I found a bunch of instructional how-to videos in the system/media/video/GuidedTour folder. Also, taking up some space are the hidden Voice Recognition language packs under /system/VODB. Delete all the language code folders you don't want. Also, this using like 10MB but also a privacy concern, there was a face recognition database under /system/lib. If you don't use the preloaded Swype keyboard, even after you uninstalled it, there's an extra database under /system/lib/libSwypeCore.so. Delete.
If you have a Galaxy Note, it might be worth noting that the S Note templates that you could never seem to delete can now be removed permanently. They actually use up a lot of space. First, delete the templates from your usual S Note folder on your SD card, obviously. Then navigate to /system/preload and /system/preloaddata and delete everything related to S Note in there. For me there was nothing other than S Note stuff. Should be the templates in one and a database in the other. Once you reboot, they'll never come back!
Enjoy!

soooo vague...
but sure ill bite.
I prefer odexed (its 'odex'-ed not 'ox'-ed lol). the reason being odexed apps index quicker (load quicker). you know when you boot your phone and it takes forever to finish loading everything? well if you're deodexed that may be why. odexed apps are split up to load smaller packages simultaneously vs one large package all at once (starting up 2x mspaint vs starting up 1x photoshop cs6).
the advantages of deodexed is its easier for themers to theme, if that's your thing. if you don't wanna mess around with stuff like that than odexed is where you wanna be.
now I will show you ox-ed .

Anyway, @soraxd pretty much explained it.
If you are into modding/styling apks then use deodexed.
I prefer odexed.
