wel it may be a small improvement but hey lets be honest
every improvement is one
here is the bravia engine made by Sony Ericsson for the O2x
and here for other devices thanks for editing the zip temasek!
you can flash this on every ROM: AOSP CM based, CM7, MIUI, Stock, Stock based ROMs
for anybody who doesn't know what bravia engine is it is this
the most improvement is when there is low light or no light at all
this is are two pictures i took with MIUI with CM7 Cam in a room without any lights on only the flash from the phone itself

Already integrated into the next version of Tsugi, though I'm not sure it actually does anything. Doesn't seem to hurt, so figure why not? Of course, there are still a few issues I just can't get straight so it could be a while for the next Tsugi.

This DOES work a bit, it has a noticeable difference with pictures. Pictures come out more vibrant now with the camera. I'll have them up in a few.
Script fails in line 9 in CWM.
G2X with Whitehawx MIUI
Any ideas what to change in the script? I noticed in the first few lines it notes P990 but I don't think that's the issue.

Definitely smoother/less noisy pictures.
Looks good. Thanks guys!
The pics in the OP got my interest up. I was hoping to see more feedback regarding this tweak. How is it working for everyone? Can you post some pictures?
My understanding of it is that it only helps how a picture appears on the phone and does not change the actual picture, correct?
Bravia tweak. Yea or nay?
Over 1400 views and no one has an opinion. Odd.
Has anyone tried this tweak with the Weapon Rom?

ive read great reviews on this too and so I flashed the Bravia Mod, running weapon 3.0 stock GB cam. It seems that the picture on the phone (like you mentioned looked cleaner, colors more vibrant. either that or im sold on the hype lol. but seriously it does look a bit more crisp/ brighter colors. i have yet to see what it looks like on my external screen HDTV or PC or even printed on a picture. i will try tonight and leave my feedback.

I am running weapon 3.0 with LG cam. It doesn't work with LG cam,the cam just not taking picture, I could see image on the screen. It was like the camera button is disbaled. Anyhow, I am using the modify version of Bravia. I might have to use stock GB cam
Edit: just flash gb camera, it works again. The pic does look better.

ditto, thanks for the post.
After testing: hdmi out to hdtv. I personally didn't see any significant difference pre mod. But I would like to test out on another screen. As my hdtv isn't a top of the line so that may make a difference?.
I tried this out in MIUI and found no difference at all along with the problem that third party camera apps did not seem to work with it.
Just flashed it, i guess things look a bit brighter, but that's all i really notice

I would like this too! I saw a picture of it on a different ROM and while I didn't feel like trying out the ROM I thought that the clear notification tray was really cool. Not 100% clear but like, faded or blurred or something. Obviously, I don't know how to do this and don't know how much work would go into it but if someone decides to do it that would be awesome.
This would be pretty sweet...

I'm gonna do a couple things I think. I'll try and post a flashable zip this afternoon but I will warn you I run DC 3.2.1 so this mod will be based on that framework
It will probably work on most but I will make no guarantees beyond flashing it over DC
Here you go, just flash it in recovery

what would be really slick would be an app or section in spare parts to manually adjust the opacity. no idea if that can be changed on the fly, but man that would be slick =]

Alright guys not to much progress today, I got home from work and passed out on the couch and my 2 year old tore up the house while I was sleeping...
Well for anyone who wants to check this rom out so far you are more than free to, it is in no way ready to go visually but I need some feedback. It works great it's just graphics at this point I need to work on.
Also I tried it out today with the dl18 modem and it worked just fine, got 6m accuracy indoors so I'm leaving it with the dl18 modem and if you would like to odin the dk17 modem feel free to it works just as well as the dl18 on this rom.
O BTW, I am in no way responsible if you brick your phone I have flashed this rom on 2 different epics many times with success...

Ok, dancing android while charging is awesome. If you had the battery percentages in single digits that would be awesome. Also, if the charging animation consisted of like 20-25 PNG's, the dancing would be epic. Imagine the Android doing the robot dance while charging. WANT.

Just flashed it, in call sound wasn't to horrible for me, so far it runs pretty smooth.

So is it just wishful thinking to ask whether this has the cool lock animation that the stock gingerbread or CM7 has. like the tube tv shutting off animation? Common sense tells me no but I thought I would ask.

Hey, wifi hotspot works. Nice.
Ive been hooked on MIUI for the past month and love the ui and ROM but I've been thinking about trying out a new jvb rom. I just want to know what peoples thoughts are on perception 2, gr-x, and continuum v5. That being said I know there is no best rom. I am just asking what everyone's favorite aspects/features are of each rom. And please don't say to flash them and find what works for me. I wont be able to flash for a week and have and opinion formulated.
Sent from my SGH-I897 using XDA Premium App
Read the features of each and decide for yourself. They are all fast and smooth.
So your choice comes down to which dev you like most basically!
Samsung Galaxy S i896 on Cezar's Continuum v5 GingerBread
gr-11 is fast beautiful and polishd but support for flac and maybe other codecs is missing, still trying to isolate the missing files. perception is very quick but the talon kernel breaks my gps. this is not typical. then there is c5 which is great all around but gr-11 has much cleaner and better looking implimentation of tw4. then there is subpression, i havent tried the v2 if this yet but it is very light and my sd card wouldnt mount to linux when i tried it. subpression also has touchwiz4 but on v1 which i tried it was that one with the ugly glass bubble icon and very slow.
At the moment I'm on GR-11. Great battery life, really stable.
It really depends on what you're looking for in a rom, though. MIUI and CM7 are going to give you a really custom experience, obviously. GR-X is going a fairly vanilla experience relatively.

ya i've only heard good stuff about gr-11, even DG has said its the best jvb rom out there. and i completely agree about miui and cm7. ive been on both and they're great but i can only stay on one rom for so long before wanting to test something else out.
not sure if we can but it would be sick if we could combine some of continuum's themes with gr-11. from what ive seen theyre sick.
and what to you guys think of tw 4.0? i find it kinda weird that everyone is so interested in it when almost everyone hated tw 3. maybe its just the latest and greatest and will pass over eventually
i like the stock implimentation of tw4. i also like tw3 so take that for what it is. the themed tw4 that is floating around is too slow and the icons dont match and features dont work. in gr11 tw4 (that's the stock one) is great, good looking and no slower than tw3 with the addition of support folders in the app drawer and easier editing with a way to pull icons into a blank page @ the bottom of the screen. also it has a widget picker similar to the way miui is implimented.
Im on Continuum and Im loving it. Im gonna wait another day or two for Phoenix to release something before trying Perception though
Just installed GR-11 and I gotta say I'm impressed. I know Quadrant scores don't mean much but check out the cpu score. This is on xcal kernel (the one that comes with GR) on RFS

Actually, I tested them all, and I still think all the other apps generates too much noise in the photo. Xcam I think is the best one after stock .
Another one I've found is quite good is Snap Camera.
You should add what rom you are using because it's a VERY different thing to ask for a best camera on STOCK than on AOSP.
Choices are completely different and results too.

I agree with MasterTB. There is already one post for comparing cameras, with images as a samples. I made zoomed images 100% and made preview of exact same place with different cameras, so you can compare shadows, medium tones and high tones between all 3 cameras. The best was stock camera (stock rom), after that ported g2 camera (CM12) and after that CM camera.
So if you are using some custom rom witch is not based on stock, thats when you need to compare because you actually need better camera.
Anyway, as many people mentored xcamera as good one, i thing i will give it a test ride.

If someone want to take shots, i will be glad to make 100% zoom and compare them. Generally looking at the picture, you dont notice that much difference, there are few but not much. When you zoom image you can see that images are completely different.
This proves that stock roms are better if you like photos
Sad I just installed Bliss and liked it ? wanted a stock camera

Hell of a test you did there mate. Been trying to do it myself but lack patience :b
Well done! Stock is with no doubt a winner, would be cool to see other cameras (F5V, Google Camera) on AOSP. Maybe I'll try them tomorrow and post
Im running blisspop - first time in a year that i flashed a non stock rom, why? - cause i heard that it now supports 4k, unfortunately it doesnt really work properly at all, the quality i NOTHING like 4k or even near to 1080p.
Ive been using Google Camera - ive tried many but this seems to be best when HDR is enabled.
My HTC port still has Chinese language enabled, not helpful.
