New Themed Rom Comming Soon... - Epic 4G Android Development

More Changes On The Way
Alright guys not to much progress today, I got home from work and passed out on the couch and my 2 year old tore up the house while I was sleeping...
Well for anyone who wants to check this rom out so far you are more than free to, it is in no way ready to go visually but I need some feedback. It works great it's just graphics at this point I need to work on.

I have it installed on my "epic" and the dancing droid is awesome when it's chargng.
This rom is based on the DK17 kernel and Modem.
Just seeing if it even worth my time posting it.

If everything goes well tomorrow night, The stock graphics are crap and hard to work with plus like I said I have a few bugs to work out. Not to mention the unbelievable stomache ache I got from drinkin to much damn wine at thankskiging dinner...

Love that circle battery.h

Looking good
I'm in for a test drive!

The more the better... Does it run on the new Modem and kernel

Ok, dancing android while charging is awesome. If you had the battery percentages in single digits that would be awesome. Also, if the charging animation consisted of like 20-25 PNG's, the dancing would be epic. Imagine the Android doing the robot dance while charging. WANT.

Looks great

What file system is it based off of? DK05 or DK17? Great job! Looks real good!

Any plans to do the 1% increments? I can help if need be, both with images and xml coding

It's based on the DK17 but you might have to flash the modem with odin... I'm tryin my best guys with the limited time I have.

WOW impressive. Can not wait to test this out.
Dont work to hard and be careful at walmart stay away from the fat chicks in line!

Did you fix the 1X icon in the theme?

Yeah this looks very promising... any chance of making the rom theme a flashable zip for users who may prefer another ROM?

[Request] Clear Notification Tray

I've seen a couple ROMs and full themes with the transparent pull down notification window but nothing stand alone.
Does anyone know if that mod is out there?
Thanks!!
ugh, This is one I really miss from my hero.
If no one has done it yet I'll do it in the next couple days, it's an easy mod.

I would like this too! I saw a picture of it on a different ROM and while I didn't feel like trying out the ROM I thought that the clear notification tray was really cool. Not 100% clear but like, faded or blurred or something. Obviously, I don't know how to do this and don't know how much work would go into it but if someone decides to do it that would be awesome.
This would be pretty sweet...

HAHA, I was just about to get started
I'm gonna do a couple things I think. I'll try and post a flashable zip this afternoon but I will warn you I run DC 3.2.1 so this mod will be based on that framework
It will probably work on most but I will make no guarantees beyond flashing it over DC
Here you go, just flash it in recovery

I can confirm that this works great on Fresh .3 as well.
u think it's light enough?
I was thinking I might lower the opacity a little more. On the hero it was almost hard to see the difference..
If you're good with it I'll leave it alone for now

Works for me!
what would be really slick would be an app or section in spare parts to manually adjust the opacity. no idea if that can be changed on the fly, but man that would be slick =]
good for me too.... thanks

[KERNEL] Voodoo Kernel for Showcase EB11 by lmartin92 (RETIRED)

Thanks to lmartin92 Showcase users have a Voodoo kernel once again. With the help of jt1134, he was able to get voodoo packed into the stock kernel. This will give you the red, modified CWM recovery as before.
Download. Put on your sdcard. Flash in recovery. Reboot and listen to the voodoo chick possess your phone. If for some reason you don't hear her the first time, just reboot into recovery, select voodoo, and enable lagfix. Then reboot.
As a precaution, disable lagfix and reboot before you flash anything or before you do a nandroid backup or restore.
Showcase EB11 Voodoo kernel
If you enjoy the fact that you get a Voodoo kernel again, consider a small donation to lmartin92. He has really worked very hard to bring you this kernel and I have a feeling that he will be doing some really good stuff for this corner of xda.
Thanks also to elijahblake for all of the help he has provided.
And you do it again my good sir.
Edit:
Flashed with no issues. She's purring now.
Thanks phidelt82
Thanks for posting this for me. I don't know what showcase users would do without you (probably sit at stock and want to hit themselves repeatedly).

Signal strength loss...
Anyone else having issues with signal after flashing the Voodoo kernel? Could be coincidence, but my friend at work has a stock Showcase is still getting 1 or 2 bars, while I have the circle with the slash... I typically get 1 or 2 bars in my office, and can get a good signal outside the building, but walked out a little while ago, and couldn't get it to aquire one. Reboot hasn't helped, but at lunch I'll be going to a higher signal area, so I'll see if it comes back.

the phone put itself into Airplane mode (I didn't change the setting); even when I changed the setting to off, it stayed in Airplane mode, even after a couple of reboots. Battery pull, then reboot finally brought it back.
Just FYI in case it happens to anyone else...

You must not read much .
It's been expressed many times that until we get official source code for the 2.2 kernel, we cannot undervolt/overclock/add other voodoo goodies. What we have right now is lagfix, and that will be all until the official release.

[ROM]Bionix 2 - The Legacy Continues - RC1 [05/15/2011]

Ladies and gentlemen I present to you, the 1st of many Team Whiskey Releases for the G2x.
Bionix, a well known ROM series on the Samsung Vibrant, created by Sombionix.
I have since moved onto a new device, bringing bout the Quality, and Speed with me. Sombionix will continue to lead the Vibrant Dev Team, while I lead the G2x Dev Team.
So, lets get started.... you are probably thinking to yourself, "what makes this ROM better than CM7, or EB?"
Well, let me tell you. We are about Speed and Quality. We dont just push out ROM after ROM, we take our time on them, nurture them, and see them grow. We thoroughly test our ROMS before we even release to our Beta Testers. We strive for perfection pretty much.
Now, though this ROM is based off the GB leak, I am taking Bionix to a whole other level starting next build. The G2x Dev Team will be a 100% AOSP base group.
Now, Onto the good stuff.
Bionix 2 - The Legacy Continues - RC1

Keyboard lag is a bigger issue than just the keyboard and driver. I verified this by replacing the driver on a test build with one from the vibrant. Same thing. Its most likely due to the 2.2.2 kernel. It def couldn't keep up with my speed thumbs.

[WIP] Triumph Rom

So ive decided to start deving my own bit of droidness this is a WIP rom and am building using ACS's build of the ec05 once aosp is released officially i will be switching over to that but until then I will get started here.
There has been a slight change i will be building based off of official Samsung release of the ec05 build from scratch I will be including the 6 mod lock screen as well as some other various changes which will be disclosed upon release in the changelog.
I would like to give thanks to pfftmedic for the help along the way here as well as chevycam over on droidforums as for he got me in to deving for aosp back on the og droid without him id be lost and wouldnt be doing this now.
I will be posting further as my work progresses and letting all know who are interested the updates of my success.
Slight delay - there will be a delay in the release i was shooting for this week but maybe a bit longer I dont want to just put out trash so I really want my first release to be something worthwhile and to build on.
Wanted to show all who are anticipating some of my custom work here is the def background that will be included in rom

He (jmr) barely knows how to flash a ROM on his own epic.
yea
Thank you all I had gotten in to themeing on the og droid for a minute was working on a really nice looking red white and blue patriot theme for droid but never got to finish it had everything done though far as the framework res and such just needed to go in theme all of the standard apps and keyboard but phone was done dialer etc was clean.Wish i had some screenies to show but i reformatted and didnt think to back those up since i was no longer using them but they would have come in handy now lol oh well just about done getting everything situated on the comp got the build.prop finshed up and the updater script for the rom just need to work out the framework-res and apps themeing wont be heavily themed however as I want users to be able to customize to there liking and not mine but I promise when aosp comes out it will be very nice as i already have a good foothold in modding for og droid froyo.

I changed some of the build.prop to allow for longer wifi scans and also added in some other changes to help with in shifting from app to app or screen to screen seems very smooth and great on batt so far just need to edit some of the framework and will have the beta coming hopefully within this evening.

Great job Mike...came out good.
Looks and works good on humble 1.42 so far.
Only thing I would change if I could would be to put the blue android icon in the contact pics.
Great job Mike! Thanks!

This good for a theme in the gummy toolbox, not overdone but not too simple. Looks good mike, finally something different for a change instead of your shiny-ness =D
Thank you for this, it looks great. I did notice that during the flashing process in CWM, the box that scrolls up still says black alien. By no means a complaint, just an observation. Not sure if you even care enough to change.
Again, thanks!

oops!!!! ill swap it later.
niiiice just flashed over GC 1.9.1 with no issues, looks awesome I saw the text message icon in the notification bar went back to the stock green one, I'm not sure if thats due to the theme or not... it's not a huge deal just something I noticed as it doesn't really fit in with the blues of the rest of the theme. you guys are making so many cool themes its hard to decide which one to be running aahhh choices

can you show me a screen shot please?
Maybe a dumb question but can themes be flashed over one another or do you need to re flash stock gummy first?

It's been my experience that you can flash themes over one another. However, if a theme doesn't have something specific that another does, it could end up not being changed to the new theme.
Thanks good to know .

I even wiped and reflashed GC and then the theme over it again. It's the link in the second post right? maybe a bad download I'll try it again, if theres still no change no problem dude
edit: redownloaded and flashed and still green oh well lol... I'm running GC 1.9.1 (you posted its for 1.9, maybe it could be due to a tweak kejar put in to the 1.9.1 update?), stock messaging app with go launcher if it helps
