[Q] Any custom rom with fully functional ooVoo? - Samsung Infuse 4G

Seems like most of the Custom ROMS I'm using atm doesn't have a functional ooVoo. The mic works but the front face camera isn't and I can't seem to hear their voice. Anyone using a custom rom that has a fully functional oovoo?
Much appreciated. Thank you very much for the help !

[Q] Question-Facelock

Has anyone had a positive experience using facelock with any of the ICS ROMS? I have tried quite q few and non seem to work. I do understand it is because of the quality of camera but was not sure if one is better than another.
I've tryeid but it's a mess. It takes a lot to identify u'r face than when it's time to unlock, only in spaces with good light it works and only sometimes.
we'll have to wait for the official update and hope that it comes with this feature
Slightly better experience
pretty sure no one has a good experience with face unlock on the nexus s , although the only rom i find that seems to work more then others is bigxies apex rom, download here: http://www.mediafire.com/?qmbqpebqe4fhj81

[Q] Camera pictures quality in AOSP ROMs

I have flashed some AOSP ROMs like CM and Kang and the although the camera works the quality of pictures especially in low light is terrible.
I have tested a couple of times taking pictures with CM and then the same picture with stock Sense. The ASOP pictures come out with a greenish hue.
This leads to my question, is this something the Devs can improve with time or is this a trade-off of not using a ROM based on the Sense framework?

It can be improved, but there are much more important things to do/fix as of now. And it may require a lot of work. It is at the bottom of a lot of developer's lists.
yeah I totally respect the Devs work and for the most part just wondered if it was technically possible.
thanks for the answer.
Will wait patiently..lol
Same I am very thankful to the Dev's.
Curiously though, so it seems that my best bet is to root my phone but to keep the stock ICS android on it becuase otherwise I lose sense4 and the supposedly better camera software htc preinstalled on it?
Thanks so much! cheers.

If you like sense, then stick with the Sense-based ROMs. As for the camera, the hardware is still fully capable of taking the same quality pictures whether you are using AOSP or Sense ROMs.
The camera software is different in AOSP and may not have all of the features included in Sense (yet) and the picture quality might be a little worse off in AOSP, but the AOSP ROMs are still in alpha. The developers are working hard to create a stable, fully functional AOSP ROM... it's just going to take a little time. It doesn't hurt to try the AOSP roms out and see for yourself, just don't expect everything to be working flawlessly.

[Q] ICS, Jelly 4.1.2 Working Video capture? Infuse 4g

For Infuse 4g does anyone know a ICS or preferable 4.1.2 Jelly Bean rom with working video camera (still photos are fine video capture is the issue). I have tried numerous Cyanogen, Paranoid Android, Liquid Smooth, roms for Jelly 4.1.2 and 4.2.2.
Always go back to Paranoid Android 4.1.2 pa_infuse4g-2.53-04NOV2012-152548 . Camera is fine but video capture is glitchy. Same for all the other roms I tried. Only other problem with the rom is that Wifi will stop working but a quick toggle will get it back. Otherwise smooth sailing.
All the 4.2.2 roms I have tried have been extremely buggy and laggy. I was wondering if there was a rom I overlooked running ICS or 4.1.2 that had working video. I put the video camera down to 480p like I was told on a couple of forums and it still crashes if you point it at a bright light.
If no modern roms have a working video camera, what rom should I be following that may resolve this issue. A dev that works primarily on stability vs adding features I can probably download from the app store or find a hack for on XDA. This is for my sister that likes to complain so it has to be stable. I really don't want any features just a modern non Gingerbread rom with a working video camera / and stills (she needs ICS VPN or later for work).
Thanks for any pointers in the right direction.
The video is as good as its gonna get for now for us. We don't have access to the correct drivers and code to get the video working 100% on ICS and jb. I am sure that one day one of the devs will crack it but I wouldn't hold my breath. Best thing is just do what you did and drop down in resolution and hope for the best. I've been having great luck with beanstalk, and Scott is an extreamly active dev working hard to make the ROM run smooth as well as add features. And if a feature hurts the stability he removed it.

The kernel in jt's cm9 rom over at rootzwiki allows for perfect 720p video recording.
It can be flashed over entropy's cm9 builds using sgs kernel flasher. WiFi doesn't work and perhaps other things as well...

That's interesting, was never aware Jr had once had working 720p...maybe someone could compare that kernel to the current cm9 kernel...and than try and port that fix to jb...

any luck for 720p recording in JB Rom?
There are two very fast and smooth ROMs for JB, Scott's Beanstalk and Andros11's Vanila rootbox for infuse, but unfortunatly video recording for 720P is still the issue, i am hoping some day some one will find the solution for it, Too much hope on our champ- Scott.
any luck tilll now >?
videocam illusion is not the solution, stock camera is much better than the app, its not snapy as 720p recording ,but its not looks good at all.

[Q] AOSP Call Recording app/mod/xposed?

I really liked the call recorders available on many TouchWhiz roms on here, for example Wicked Sensations has a call record button built in to the call menu while you're on the phone. Both ends of the line get recorded with no problems.
But I like AOSP roms much more. Like Liquidsmooth, Paranoid Android, Slimrom etc..
I can't find a solution for these roms. What are my options? I checked out a few from the Play Store and they only record my voice; I would need to have speaker on to record the other person. Supposedly it's a hardware issue but if that was the case then TW wouldn't be able to do it..
Any Suggestions Would Be Appreciated!!!
I'm using Liquidsmooth 3.0 d2lte Kitkat at the moment but willing to downgrade for a working solution.

My understanding of the situation is that this is one of the features of the S3 that Touchwiz ROMs can use, and AOSP ROMs can't, because Samsung has kept the inner workings of the phone's hardware secret and not published details on them. The drivers that make those functions work are locked away inside the software included in Touchwiz, so only TW ROMs can use them. Another such feature is MHL output via the USB port, AOSP ROMs can't do it on the S3, TW ROMs can. If you want to use the phone's built-in call recording, you have to use a TW-based ROM. That's the only reason I'm still on TW.

Thank you for the explanation! Makes perfect sense.
If you could recommend a TW rom that would be great.

I'm still on BoneStock v3.4: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2275376, it's been rock-stable for me since it was released 7 months ago. The AOSP theme gets it close enough to an AOSP look for me. There should be a new version coming out in the near future based on the most recent software for the GS3.

Does changing ROM from stock to the ASOP affect Camera capabilities like 64MP?

Hi All,
Hope you are fine. I am using Mi Note 10 Lite 128/6 and waiting for ending guarantee for changing stock ROM because the stock ROM is really really buggy and many features is not working like Cleaner. Cleaner is not cleaning cache of any apps. I can count more.
Let's come my question. My device supports 64MP Ultra with it's stock Camera app and other high resolution video recording, slowmotion, etc. If i change my ROM to ASOP or another ROM can i use my phone's camera capabilities with another ROM?
I need your experiences about this issue. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Kind Regards.
Happy new year all!
