What is a good launcher for fire? - Kindle Fire Themes and Apps

I tried a few so far adw and go, but I feel the apps and folders are too small for a tablet, and can't find a way to make them bigger without replacing all the icons manually. I would like the apps to look like on the shelf in the built in launcher. Any ideas?
Thanks

I've been using adw ex with much success. You can customize the Icon sizes do making then 120% seems to look pretty good.

I've been really happy with go launcher.

You can make the icons bigger with go also. Large setting works well.

i just wish zeam launcher worked with this as thats my fav!!!

I use the ics launcher. The new update is amazing!

totally loving adw launcher especially now that in 6.2.1 the wallpapers stays when you set it

ADW EX with HDPI density hack is the best "tablet" experience I've had on this device so far.

I use adw launcher EX and I love it. You can resize everything and to me it works perfectly fine for the Fire.

HDPI density hack?

SPB shell is brilliant, however I'm on CM7.

go launcher is always my only option

I have been using ADW EX which is the same launcher I use on all my phones that also rum CM7 and it seems to be doing fine with the KF. I even used the Ice Cream Sandwich theme on it and it looks great.

Check out the new 7" friendly version of Go, I absolutely love it and it's silky smooth on the fire.

I feel so boring, I like Zeam. Have tried others, all ways go back to Zeam. Have it on my phone and CM7 Kindle Fire. I had been using Syndicates Ice Cream Sandwich launcher on prior going over to CM7 and opening up more options.

I am using Go Launcher Ex beta. Extremely happy with it right now and my Kindle Fire Purchase.

I've tried Go Launcher and ICS and they both work fine, but then the Kindle bookshelf doesn't work, so the Kindle app is basically broken. Does anyone have a workaround for this?

I use Rom Toolbox for my fonts. Great app! you can download a free or paid version. after installing the font from Rom Toolbox, select Default in settings/display/screen display/font style.
I'm using GO launcher. I used to use Launcher Pro but I didn't want to pay for all the cool widgets that this seems to come with for FREE.
I've been using are but everyone seems to love go launcher

Thanks for that reference, hadn't found that one yet. Going to give it a try. Regina home works great on this phone, tried it once on my captivate = lots of lag. With the dual processor it flies though. Its a resource killer but great for showing off. I use adw for everyday purposes and LCD resolution app, set to 200. This let's you take advantage of the 4.5" screen IMO.

what do you mean like buttah??? its SUPER CHOPPY.
the only smooth launcher is launcher pro.
I'm using Go Launcher and love it.
But it does crash sometimes in the sense that the launch icons all turn into "+" symbols. Also sometimes I'll have to press more than once to launch something.
TW is not choppy for me. I don't know man...I have also flipped Willy nilly between different roms (stock root, all alien builds, s-stocketeer (1.0 & 1.5), back too nandroid, & once odin»to stock (almost forgot i flashed CRT off zip as soon as it was posted as well). All without a hitch, not sure if its dumb luck or what. I got my I727
on launch day & have followed forum ocd stylee. I have read several more experienced users @ least temporarily flame out with fc's. My device has been a rock.........so far

I've been using the ICS Launcher now on mine and have been enjoying it. Very fast scrolling and I love the looks.
I've used Launcher Pro, ADW EX, and SPB Shell in the past. All good launchers. For customizing, ADW Ex is one of my favorites.
You may just have to try them all.
You can use ROM Toolbox for fonts, they have a ton on there. I have tried a few of the other tweaks but they have not worked and I end up restoring.
The Best and most supported Launcher
I have tried ADW EX and all the launchers out there. I am now using and loving " GO LAUNCHER" it constanly has updates, widgets, SMS app and themes for everything- VERY VERY customizable- Alot of themes and wigets are absolutely free !!! Runs fast also- Try it out- you will now be disappointed....

I'm using Launcher Pro and i love it. Its clean and simple and the scrollable 5 icon dock is amazingly useful in eliminating screen clutter. I used launcher pro icons to download the ones i didnt have and now it looks slicker than ever. I'd used the free version on 2 older phones and now on the full version (only difference is being able to resize widgets and usse LP+ widgets, both which did not affect the user experience). Also great to be able to adjust animation performance and such.
I would say go launcher ex all the wayyyyyy
The touchwiz from the market is a really good imitation. Only stock touchwiz is supported by hardware acceleration, which makes it incredibly smooth.
I really like pure breeze. Having the kite anywhere on the phone is amazing. Somewhat simliar to wave launchers usefulness.

Why do people keep saying that? it stutters. It Jumps. The only REALLY SMOOTH launcher is launcher pro.
Guess it depends on how many widget and background apps you have running. Mine has always been silky smooth. No jumps or skips ever.
Edit: I'm on a ogsgsii. No lag here
But I agree that launcher pro is amazing.

ADW Launcher EX

Is friggin awesome with CM7. The included free version of ADW was nice but EX is SMOOTH and ridiculously customizable. Just wish there were more ADW themes.
I agree. I just slap the adw backup file from my G2 onto my Fire sdcard and restore and I am home, sweet home. Its like butter.

ADW Launcher EX is nice. Runs smoothly. It does have one little bug pertaining to the density hack(makes your icons bigger for tablets).
Menu>more>AdwSettings>ReSTART ADW
Unfortunately you need to do this after every bootup if you want the larger icons. Other than that, it's great. Check your inbox. I sent you a PM.

Ok, more details. How do you get ADW Launcher EX on my CyanogenMod 7 install? It runs Ok with the standard ADW but I'd also like the ADW EX version.
Can't I just download it from the Market and install?

Yes. Though you may or may not need to rename the regular ADW.apk that came with cm7. You might not even have to. Some have issues with it some don't.
ADW EX seems to move so much smoother. And I will say in advance that the Density Hack has a little bug that won't apply it after a reboot until you go to menu>more>ADWSettings>Restart ADW. Really is a great launcher even with the minor bug.

Got ADW Launcher EX installed with no problem. Only thing, I had to re-do all my widgets and icons. That takes a little time. But, it's working fine. I didn't have to re-name or move anything so far.

In Go Launcher, when you go to the screen that shows all your apps, you can hit the menu button and get an option to turn off icons that you do not use or don't want showing. Does not appear that function is in ADW. Minor gripe but I rather not look at all the system type apps all the time, mixed in with the all my downloaded apps. You can another list of them but I have found nothing to hide ones that you want to kep installed, just don't want them shown all the time.
I was a huge fan of ADW Launcher EX, but then I tried Go Launcher due to all of the hype about it and I have to say it lived up to that hype, its fantastic.
I tried to download and install the standard ADW Launcher onto my stock KF (6.3.1) but it says that my device is not compatible. This was through the Google Play store.
any other sources to d/l this launcher? I'm currently using Go Launcher EX

Suggest for me good launcher for tab

I'm very new to using my new tab. Just wondering what launcher are all of you are using and which you think is best. I'm still on original launcher but I find it slow and sometimes unresponsive. I tried out adw ex but the icons are very small. Any suggestions of good launchers for tablet?

ADW is fully customisable.
You can edit the icon size as well as text site in it's settings. ADW Ex is the best in my opinion!

Go launcher any good for tablets?
Sent from my GT-P6200 using Tapatalk
Besides Touchwiz, ADW launcher EX has HD icons for tablets... i have tryed Go Launcher, Launcher pro and both are good but more geared for phones...
However ADW EX needs to be set at a different DPI (133 and below) to get the HD icons (tablet mode) on the SG7+
I might be wrong but i have yet to find a way to make ADW EX apear in tablet mode in the standard 160dpi.
Any of the above (ADW, GO Launcher and launcher pro) are Faster than touchwiz in my experience... however touchwiz is more elegant and better suited for tablets, except that its jerky and less configurable.
Im currently using ADW with dpi at 133.. looks great IMHO
I've reinstalled adw but ibcant find where to change dpi like you said, where can i find this option?
Sent from my GT-P6200 using Tapatalk
Is it even possible to change the DPI for just ADW Launcher EX all on it's own? Or do you have to set the DPI for the entire tablet. If one could trick ADW into thinking the dpi was 133 and leave everything else alone that would fantastic and would minimize headaches.
(Sorry if I'm kinda stepping into this thread but I'm curious)

i tried most of the famous launchers. but just keep coming back to STOCK Touchwiz launcher. it just feels right for a tablet.
I use Go Launcher Ex because It's the only launcher that allows App Folder INSIDE the app list. All others can only be done in Home Screen.
For HD icons, just search for HD Theme. I use Suave theme.

I used Blade Buddy to set dpi
This made a whole lot of stuff start force closing.
I wouldn't really suggest it unless you have an abiding hatred for the Honeycomb taskbar.
If you do then I would be happy to explain how to get around the force closes (mostly).
Edit: dpi was set at 171. 160 will give you the Honeycomb again. Sorry about that.
I use LCD density modder pro, so far it works alright for me.

as i know, 160dpi is the default in tab plus.

Any other good Launchers for honeycomb other than Go Launcher HD?

Honeycomb seems like the Red headed step child of Android operating system. It almost seems as the whole point of it was to beta test ICS. And finding stuff like launchers designed for it is hard. And even google doesn't support it that well, I mean where is Chrome?
Google seems more content to pretend that Android went straight from 2.3 to Android 4.0 and there never was a 3. But when your on a tablet that isn't slated for an update, nor has alot of developers like the HTC Flyer, your options are limited, and your pretty much stuck on honeycomb.
I'd really like a nice stock launcher replacement that fits the honeycomb theme, and has customization options. Right now Go Launcher HD is the only real alternative to the stock launcher that I can find. ADW supposedly supports it, but IMO it doesn't seem much better than running a phone launcher on the tab. What else is out there that I'm not seeing?
I know what you mean. Personally, I use espier launcher. It works well. Don't use the hd version, the main launcher has a tablet layout.
