Since July, I've been eagerly awaiting the ability to video chat with friends using google's Talk and today I read that the Google+ android app has added the ability to to start a "hangout" (Google+ videochat with more than one friend at once).
Are we non-rooted MyTouch 4G users forever in the "out" crowd on this because google won't give us a basic video chat feature for their Talk app? I mean c'mon already, we are at Android 2.3.4 on this wonderful lil powerhouse of a phone with front facing cam, and I don't see any video support for google apps yet....
... have I missed something?
... or is this T-Mobile locking us out of this functionality?

You've missed the ability to read.
From http://www.androidcentral.com/google-app-set-receive-big-update-will-now-allow-you-initiate-hangouts
The Google+ Android app has continued to evolve at a rapid pace. Back in September, Google added the functionality to be able to join a Hangout from any Android phone running Android 2.3 and up. One of the biggest frustrations, however, was not being able to initiative a Hangout from your mobile device. Google has finally brought that ability to the app by allowing you to start a Hangout from Messenger. If you've started a a Messenger group, you'll now see a camera icon that will initiate a Hangout with a simple tap.
Great features just keep coming. Google announced on their blog post that the app will update in the next few days, so keep your eyes out. They also announced that similar functionality will be brought to iOS so you'll be able to Hangout with your family and friends even if they have iPhones and iPads.
If you don't yet have the Google+ app, please find links to the free app after the break.

Neither rude nor childish. What was irresponsible was posting a question that has been clearly answered by the Developers themselves.
I never claim to be nice, i just claim to be honest.
edit :
You have no clue how i posted that. If you took it as insulting the problem lies with you. You can ask anyone of the other members here. I am never insulting or demeaning to any of the members. It's pointless to be rude to people that you've/i've/we've never met.
What I read yesterday is that the Google+ app already had the ability to join a hangout in progress, but that the new app being released adds the ability to start a hangout.
Now, I don't think the Glacier ever had the ability to do video chat with google apps. But, after reading yesterday that the Google+ app has already had the ability to join a hangout, I've tried joining an existing hangout with my google+ app but could not find a way to do so. My app is up to date via the Market, but that can be difficult to verify since the market lists the version as being device dependent (and so we could be left out of the latest versions), and since we never could do video with the Talk app., I kinda wonder if I'm chasing my tail here or if video DOES work for us now.
So, has anybody with a non-rooted MyTouch 4G had any success in video chatting with Google+, or have we been left out of having this ability?

Possible for a non-rooted phone? Have you tried it with success? If so, where are the .apks and .libs (more than one?) and how does a non-rooted phone have these successfully installed (instructions)?
And yes, please understand before you insult me again, that I HAVE been searching this forum for these answers (by my ability to read). I'm asking for someone to explain how this is done; not just confirm that they know someone else that did it... I mean it's nice to know that it can be done, if that is indeed true, but you have already started this conversation off on the wrong foot, matey, and it would be nice if you would just give up your fight and let someone else respond if they actually have HELP!

If I remember correctly I have successfully joined a hangout using the stock ROM, but it was definitely rooted. I know I've used CM7 to hangout. Decent feed as long as you're on wifi, the mic is a little sensitive though and gives some feedback, esp if you're in a room with someone else in the same hangout.

The information that was highlighted in GIANT RED LETTERS is about the release of a feature to INITIATE a video chat, BUT, the google+ app has allowed JOINING a video chat for a while now. Here, let me repost what information I already read before starting this post:
"Back in September, Google added the functionality to be able to join a Hangout from any Android phone running Android 2.3 and up. One of the biggest frustrations, however, was not being able to initiative a Hangout from your mobile device."
SEPTEMBER! this ability has been around since September. And yet I haven't seen or heard of it working with our phones this is why I posted a thread.
Regardless of the latest release, it seems that a non-rooted MyTouch 4G cant do video chat with the google+ app., nor could it do it with the Talk app. I would like to know if anyone has had success with making video chat work with google apps on a non-rooted MyTouch 4G.
But, it looks like you guys didn't read my questions -- those are the sentences with the question marks at the end. I quoted them above, but I'll try to make them simpler to understand. (Some of you senior users need to just move on if you see something that annoys you, instead of attack dogging people because you don't like or understand the way a question was posed.)
Has anybody with a non-rooted MyTouch 4G had any success with video chat for the Talk app or the Google+ app?
If no...
Is this because Google left out this capability with the Talk app?
Is this because T-Mobile has locked out these features?
And this is implied:
If yes...
How do we make video chat for the Talk app work on a non-rooted MyTouch 4G?
How do we make video chat for the Google+ app work on a non-rooted MyTouch 4G?
I guess I could ask one more question:
Does anybody have a non-rooted MyTouch 4G that can answer these questions based on experience?
Hello folks,
since all other threads concerning this topic are either outdated or are about trying to fix this problem by themselves I've decided to open a new one.
The problem mentioned above should be well known to almost any android user who uses Gmail to manage and sync their contacts.
Because Google ignored earlier requests I'm trying to spread this one single request as far as possible. If enough Gmail users read and star this thread Google has to react in any way.

In fact i've added my support to many threads like this on the Google Forums over the last year, as have hundreds of other users. I find it utterly baffling how after all this time, Google still haven't addressed this issue.
If Google were to increase the contact picture size even by merely 10 pixels, they would need massive amount of additional server space.
I'm not saying it's not doable, just not as simple as we'd like to think.
iR¡[email protected]!* via Tapatalk
Actually I thought of that point too, but I made a quick calculation.
I am able to get a decent picture quality (JPEG,256x256px,8bit,quality 65) at under 15kb per picture.
Now imagine you are having 1000 contacts, it would be around 15MB of data just for the pictures. And now take into consideration that any Gmail user already has over 7,6GB(!) of free storage. Would anybody miss 15 or even 50MB?
But all this has already been written in the request thread

That's an interesting possibility; I didn't consider that Google may have a whitelist of supported devices. If I had to guess, though, I wouldn't think so. There are thousands of Android devices out there more introduced every day so trying to manually maintain a list like that would be difficult even for Google.
I suspect the problem is something worse. The version of Android on this phone appears to be far from stock Android. I think core pieces of the OS are modified enough that Android Pay's checks that you are running on a secure, uncompromised device fail. Few of the built in screens and features look like vanilla Android. The OS on thsi phone really does look like a toned-down version of MIUI from a couple of years ago. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but it's definitely not Android as Google thinks it should be.
I reported the issue to Google from within the Android Pay app. I think you guys should do the same to bring this to their attention. Maybe they can pressure Blu to fix the issue?

Hi, Pedro.
I'm sorry that you ran into an error message on your Android Pay app! I understand how frustrating that can be.
The specific error message that you saw means that your device can't support Android Pay's advanced security. If you've heavily modified your device, may I recommend returning it to its original state and trying again? Otherwise, you may want to use Android Pay on a different device for the most secure payments.

Hi, mhajii210.
Thanks for contacting Google and for your interest in Android Pay!
Yes, I have noted your request to have this device checked for eligibility and having the Android Pay be made available for your device too.
That being said, I have laid out some info about the eligibility for Android Pay.
The Android Pay app is compatible with Android phones running KitKat (4.4) or higher with "near field communication" (NFC) tap and pay capability. (For security, Android Pay isn't compatible with rooted/modified devices.)
To check whether your phone supports tap and pay, please see our Help Center.

Nexus line of phones are unlocked but of course they support Android Pay. As long as the phone uses a US SIM card on an approved carrier, it is fine. The problem is this phone is running an Android version that has not been certified to use Android Pay. It is possible if both Google and Blu work together that may change in the future. I think it really depends on how well this phone sells. If there is enough of a demand it'll happen. At this point I'm not holding my breath. It never hurts to try though since it is in Google's best interest to get Android Pay to work on as many phones as possible.
Great!

So, i haven't verified it works yet, but with HTC Sense loaded as my launcher I was able to activate my card in Android Pay. This didn't work previously but this time i was using a cellular connection versus wifi to activate. I will try to test it tonight.

I used that page you provided, installed the HTC Sense Home, and walla!! it works! I activated 5 of my cards already.
I have an issue using MX Player on android.
It is an issue specific to me as I cannot watch video or movies without subtitles.
Mx Player Plays any file I throw at it but on some of my movies will not display some lines of dialogue on the screen.
VLC has this same issue but have not fixed after I informed them probably 4 years ago.
Potplayer on Windows had this issue till I told them and they fixed within 24 hours .
I have posted this issue several times now on these forums and did get helpful response from members suggesting I should email details to support.
I have done this now on three occasions with absolutely zero response.
I think support is probably just a figment of somebody's imagination.
What is the point of advertising support if there is none.
Maybe they think it is an issue that 99% of users would not need fixed.
Anyway it is very frustrating.

Thanks at least I know support does exist.
I have emailed the information again to support using another email address and still have had no response.
What could be happening ?
Is it because the email has a link to a dropbox file ?
Maybe my URL is being blocked ?
I may have to try a VPN.
Please somebody help me communicate with support .
support still does not exist

I have lost count of the number of emails I have sent to support.
I have used different email accounts and different computers with different ip addresses.
Absolutely no response from support.
