I am using poseidon rom currently based on xxkpq firmware, used amit bagaria's cf root to root my phone. I want to move back to factory xxkpq Indian firmware and also unrooting my device like before, so can anyone tell me the procedure for that?

Just flash any Indian firmware and you would lose root and also have indian firmware.

Hi everyone, I was wondering if I could update the firmware on my Samsung Infuse from Froyo Android 2.2.1 to Gingerbread 2.3 with a rooted phone? Will anything be lost during this, and will I have to unroot and then re-root my phone in order to update?

I do not believe there is an upgrade path from froyo to gb that will keep root. There are some pre-rooted gb ROMs but nothing down the official road. The official gb update is the same as the UCKL2 leak from December. Do a search for user przekret and you'll see the thread. Its buried in the development forum somewhere. Any of the "official" GB updates are flashable only through Odin so I'm pretty sure you'd lose everything. At least that's what I've been reading. I lost everything when I flashed it. Personally, however, the "official" is very unpolished and I'm actually back on UCKH1 Froyo until a new "official" is out.

You could just help him out instead of posting something pointless.

Hi guys, I have the galaxy s 3 for Verizon I just restored it using DroidStyle's method. I am wondering how I can un-root it I just wondering what tutorial to use any links that are confirmed working would be great. I need to un-root because I am bringing my GS3 back to Verizon today to have my sim card replaced and possible have the phone replaced.
Thanks for any help you guys provide in advance.
Checked section 6 of DroidStyle's guide in the Development Section. It has working links and everything else you need.

Hello,
I'm currently on ICS 4.0.4 Poland version and I want to try different roms from several countries...
So can I just flash ANY rom via ODIN the usual way?
or do I have to do anything else before flashing?
Please reply....
Yes! you can use the same procedure which you did for the poland version...
Hope you didn't go to this sticky thread -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1983262
All answer would be there. Also, dont start new thread if same has been asked earlier. Also, you can ask the same in Q/A thread.
reporting to MOD as you got your answer.
Plus dont try any custom roms via Odin.
It will increase your counter which leads to voiding the warranty.

Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. i think you're asking how to flash the stock firmware onto your i9500 device. If that is the case see this, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265477 Whether you get your guarantee back, I can't answer.

Okay so I have a question about Lollipop rolling out for LG G2 owners. I have the 32 gb LG g2 rooted and flashed to page plus. I just want to know would it be safe to update to lollipop OTA. would I lose my root or the flash at all?
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. Since you're rooted and have a custom rom the Lollipop OTA will fail to install on your device. It won't hurt it if it tries but it will fail. In order for the OTA to work you have to be 100% stock. You can see this on how to that, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476 but it's probably easiest to just flash the lollipop stock firmware. Back up first though off your device. Also see this for further information, http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2
Also, don't forget to register on XDA to post any questions you have in the threads.
hi sorry I wasn't signed in. I wanted to say that I'm on the stock Rom still. I just have the phone flashed so I could use page plus as a carrier.
