Anyone know which media player can play encoded RMVB on Honeycomb? I tried Moboplayer, VLC, all the fairly well-known player but not one seems to work.
VLC.....? What?
Rockplayer works for me with rmvd
Moboplayer ftw

They don't work. The search goes on....
Moboplayer and rockplayer both work with .rmvb files.
I have noticed that Some files do not work. Most of my .rmvb files work open up perfectly fine.
Isn't there RealPlayer for HoneyComb? I mean, at least on 2.x it's in the market.

Whats the best app for video? This is my first android so i don't know what is "best." i need it to play MKV, Mp4, AVI, etc.... all @ HD.
MX Video Player
Thanks i will try it.
MX works very good on Fire.
Just watched Modern Family mkv in HD (720p), hardware accelerated, without lags and nothing.
PS. The only problem was the audio channel that didn't work in HW mode. Just changed that to SW decoding and everything was fine.

Yep, MX Video Player is the best video player for the Kindle Fire.

It's working on my mkv files very well. I also had to switch audio to software decode.

what about vplayer?
I have always trusted in VLC Player, however, technically its still in closed beta for Android, and not available for direct download via the Market.
With the OP being new to Android, I guess I might be expecting a little too much to say, Google for it (VLC-neon.apk), and sideload it?! But I'm putting it out there anyway!

How do you get it to work where you the gray pullup bar on the bottom doesn't interfere with the onscreen controls? Also, do you know if it can stream from Dropbox/Sugarsync? I haved some vids on SS that I stream on Moboplayer, but can't get them to stream on MX.

Hi, i too have been confronted to these .mkv files. Been told that they would be normal video format files but embedded with subtitles. Annyway, use VLC Media Player if on pc, and MX Player for Android. I loaded the standard "mx player" on Google Play. Should you face any issues, look up for the available codecs (aimed for diff. specific processors architecture) and take the one for your device. Got an ARMv7 and i didnt have to load the codecs up to now. Hope this help and didnt annoyed, kinda noticed the lenght of my thread just now...
