Anyone ese having issues with video out, when it is a downloaded movie from the market? Normal videobout for apps and games is fine but when i tried to watch a movie that i downloaded fromthe market for $.99 it would just freeze the screen. As soon as i unplugged from the tv it started again. Tested several times and it was only an issue with downloaded movies.

Wow, Nothing?
I am using the correct cable as far as I know it is just a standard mini hdmi to hdmi correct? As I said it works on everything else, just curious why I can buy a 99 cent movie on the market and pipe it from my tablet to the tv.

I'm running rooted 2.2 on captivate. I've tried to play videos off my phone through all share on my ps3 to no avail.
It won't play the videos i've taken with my phone (mp4) and it won't play downloaded movies (avi).
So my question is what format does the video have to be in to work, or is there something else i'm misssing?
anyone have an idea?
bumpity bump
Have similar problem playing some videos so I just mounted the phone instead to my ps3, about the games no idea.

Everything seems to work till you go to watch the movie then it will only play for 8sec thru the app. At least I can finish watching the movie thru the TF's browser.
So you can watch the movie in the browser? 720p?
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using XDA Premium App
Yes sir. I launched the app, clicked on the video which launched the browser to make the purchase. I ordered the movie, clicked play and it asked me to play back thru the app or the browser. I tried the app and it would only play 8sec then stop. I went back to the browser and this time when it asked me to choose I picked the browser and it worked fine. Yes, in 720p
EDIT: Forgot to mention I was getting an message in the app player something about my rental had expired.
Also, it gives you the ability to display personal videos on a youtube style video wall. Now just gotta figure out how to make cover art show up, instead of the video snippet it uses. This is what I was coming on the boards tonight to actually inquire about - How to show movies with cover art from a screen I could choose from. Problem solved!
I am10 minutes into Hall Pass, playing right out of the app, tethered to my iPhone while in the car. This is super sweet.

so does it work or what can someone else please test the apps ability to play.
Ok I rented "The rite". I was able to play it in the browser and in the video app. Only at 480p though.
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using XDA Premium App
Ok it only played for a minute in the app. But it still going in the browser. Also I'm able to watch the movie on google tv.

What's up, neighbor in Orlando? I am in Vero Beach...
Super simple...for your 3G (NOT a 3GS, right?) you'll need to jailbreak it and find an app in Cydia called 'MyWi' or 'PDANet'. Both of these will allow you to both tether with the USB cable as well as via wifi and bluetooth. If you have a 3GS, and you happen to be running iOS 4.x, you can download a tweak called 'TetherMe' which enables the native hotspot tethering in iOS4. Good luck...PM me with any questions.

OK so were you on home wifi or 3g when you did this. And how come you were only able to play the movie in 480p. Were you playing it in 480p in the browser or in the app?
Thanks for trying to out
I was at home on my wifi. I played it thru the browser. Paying it thru the app only played it for about a minute. Don't know why it only allowed 480p but it only allow that on my google tv too.
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using XDA Premium App
hmmm the rite is a fairly new movie. Maybe it has something to do with the fact it was playing on the web and not on the app. Although that's odd because on YouTube when a video is HD it plays 720. Oh well thanks for answering the posts. Hopefully Google will release the in app video update soon.
Just curious if anyone else has seen the option menu in Netflix to "Play on Google TV" when selecting a movie. I can't actually get it to play on my Google TV, it just spins a while and then says the device is no longer on the network. Still, I'm curious if anyone else has seen the feature show up, and if anyone has gotten it to work.
Yes, I get this option.
I've never got it to work from the tab, but it works from my GNex...

I have never had it work for me either. Same results as you. I have two Revue Google TV units, and tried disabling one, just to see if it would recognize it but nothing. The YouTube app works beautifully for this same kind of transfer, so it seems that it must be an app issue with Netflix, or perhaps it just works with other varieties of Google TV, but no the Revue. Strange that it has gone on for several months without more attention.

On my GNex, the Android/Google TV option appears only when the phone is connected to the charger, and on WiFi to the local LAN. It looks like Netflix wisely is protecting us from unnecessary battery drain during extended operaitons.

Not for me. Works every time I try and play from my GNex - charger or not. (Needs to be on same Wi-Fi)

Interesting. When you say it works, do you mean you actually plays to your Google TV? I'm using a Revue, with a VZW GN, which is on OS 4.2.1
UPDATE: After more experimenting, I found that I was wrong in my earlier comment that the option displays only with the charger attached. It just does it sometimes, and sometimes not - I don't know what makes the difference. In any case, even when the option appears, and I select Google TV, it doesn't successfully direct video to it.

GNex lets me select GoogleTV and watch on the Revue.
Infinity lets me select GoogleTV, but it never actually starts playing...
Cool. But why would you do this if you already have netflix onc your google tv. Its just tying up you phone IMO.

Not really. At least if it works similar to the YouTube app. You don't really tie up the phone - you just are telling Google TV what programming to play, but the program data stream isn't through the phone. You have the convenience of navigating on your phone or tablet to find what you want to play. The Netlix version isn't workng for me, but I use the YouTube version all of the time. It's hugely convenient. I can trigger off a program, then exit the app and do whatever on it until I want to change the program/

It sounds google play mean it is for android market google play App Store but have not seen play on googole tv because Im aware that apple has Apple TV. I may be overlooking if google has its own tv but beleive it is intending for android devices

Screenshot or it didn't happen.
Amazon has instituted the Adobe DRM & also added Silverlight as a requirement for streaming. This is to prevent work-arounds & currently (for the last several months) Amazon Videos will NOT work on Android phones or tablets period. There are a few browsers the do server-side rendering & it will sort-of work on those, but the quality is crap & the lag/stutter is unbearable.
Amazon's stance is that you either need to buy a crappy Kindle, or wait for them to finish extorting licensing fees from Google, the OEM's & your carrier. There have been numerous threads about this issue, which affects many platforms, all over the web.
Amazon instant video is working on my S3. I have Adobe Flash Version 11.1.115.20. It is working through my stock browser.

Amazon video on 10.1
Ok, here's a screenshot. It wont play movies marked HD, but has played everything I've wanted to watch. I'm not that concerned about hd. As long as I can watch the video, I'm good.
The video looks better than the snap shot I took. I saved it in a lower resolution.

Works for me on the Note 10.1 with Flash Player installed and Dolphin Browser. It seems a bit smoother than using the stock browser.
I'm able to watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer on the stock browser, but as you can see, the quality isn't all that good. I don't mind though because it's not that bad, either. I attached my own screenshot in case you wanted another example of the video quality.

Install the .63 flash from the Adobe Android Flash Archive. They fixed the DRM issue several weeks ago. With AOSP browser, you can even watch HD in desktop mode.
Or install from here.
Working just fine on stock browser in full screen mode.

I'm having the same issue right now. Outputting over HDMI to a Samsung TV and the audio is lagging horribly. I'm using an Asus Tf300t running 4.2.1.
Did you ever find a solution?

Nope. I had just moved and my phone was my only source of netflix. Got my ps3 unpacked and started using it.
Try uninstalling the app then install again.
