Can't use ActiveSync at work

HI
My work has ban ActiveSync, but I should get around it by using a different program.
I need a different sync program to use at work for my Outlook pleasee.
What the best one out there
Thanks
Banned where I work too.
My employer has standardised on Blackberry when they are paying. If you get your own device you can't plug it in.

Do you have an exchange server? If so, check out www.emoze.com
Super easy set up, free and it works well. I have not had any problems other than not being able to sync tasks.
Thanks I will give that a try
Unfortunately, most of the 'other programs' for desktop sync that I've tried require activesync to be installed first. Intellisync and GW PDA Connect both use the activesync connection to the phone as just a pipe to the phone, as neither of them can open a connection to the phone directly.

bidirectional sync

MS ActiveSync only syncs in one direction...from the phone to the computer or the other way. I need a bidirectional sync so that any entries I make on my phone when out of the office, or are made to my desktop calendar by my staff, are sync'ed.
As it is now, if I put something on the phone and I plug it in to the USB on the desktop, the appt. is blown out because the desktop calendar controls. I can make it the other way around but then my desktop appts. blow out.
There is a 3rd party app called Easy Sync and it does way more than just bidirectional sync but I am wondering whether (1) there is another method or (2) if anyone has experience with Easy Sync in this context.

active sync is syncing in 2 directions (if you make an entry on the device...it will be synced to desktop pc,and vice versa)
that what you mentioned (one way-ppc to pc or pc to ppc) reffers only when you have 2 same entries but with some modifications
eg. i have DLTempler entry on both my phone and pc...i edit DLTemple contact in the phone...eg change the number...if the pc to ppc is checked DLTempler entry will be reverted to entry on the pc...or if ppc to pc is checked entry on the pc will be updated
Make sure you check your settings because the general idea of the PPC is to have a computer away from home. So, "bidirectional syncing" is an automatic function, unless anything has been changed, or your using software that doens't sync properly.
found a setting on the phone side of AS that was a problem. Changed it. Have to test and see if the problem is solved.
Well, what was the setting? I'm having the exact same problem (phone entries will sync to desktop, but desktop entries won't sync to phone).
On my phone I opened AS, I clicked on Menu, then Options, then Settings,
Conflicts: replace item on device
event logging: none
Why that worked? I have no idea.
Hi there.
I've the same problem, my pc sync's with my HTC but not the inverse.
Just to add a note.
Itens on calendar are bidirectional sincronized!!!!
I have a AT&T Fuze that I use with MS Mobile Device Center as a bridge between Outlook on my MS Exchange Server at Work and Outlook 2007 on my Windows 7 laptop & desktop at home. The system works like a top. Lately the display seems a little small however. I've been looking at an HTC Thunderbolt (Android) with the HTC sync application and several after market sync applications. Windows Phone 7 is off the table because of a decision by Microsoft not to sync with it's own product, Outlook. Has anyone solved a similar problem with Android? Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks.

Sync files OTA

Hi everyone,
Since two years, I use Windows Live Sync (formerly Windows Live Foldershare) to sync my files on my PCs. This service is really really good, and I was hoping MS will develop a Windows Mobile version, but it seems they just don't care. Live Mesh mobile client could be the solution to my problem, but it is just too buggy and the live team doesn't seem to really care about the mobile client...
So, I searched for this kind of tool but didn't find anything.
I'd like to know if you know an app that could be used to sync files on my PPC with a PC over-the-air, without having to plug my usb cable, just sync by internet.
Thanks.

nope
"If you have any documents stored outside the My Documents folder on your phone, My Phone will not synchronize these documents."
It's not really the thing I search

[Q] Possible to sync Android calendar to Mac via USB only (no cloud)?

While this issue is rather well covered on the internet, I havent seen anything new about it for a while, so I will re-ask a common question doctors have about being able to use an Android device for work purposes.
I can't have my calendar sync through the cloud (HIPAA laws regarding patient privacy). Is there a way to sync the calendar only of either Droid Incredible, Droid 2, or Droid X to iCal via USB connection only? Cable syncing is permitted, but cloud syncing opens a can of worms thats not worth messing with.
I know that HTC Sync will allow this with Droid Incredible on a Windows machine, but that wont work for a Mac with iCal. I am unaware of Motorola software like HTC Sync even for the Windows side of things.... but I just thought I'd ask.
This will make the difference between another Android device being purchased or not.
Thanks in advance.

PC Sync Capable?

I'm in the market for a new phone and am considering the G4. My main requirement (aside from a hard QWERTY keyboard ) is the ability to sync via a PC rather than a cloud. Is this possible on the G4?
Many thanks!

What is it the phone has to be capable of that you're unsure it is, in order to sync via PC? It does have a micro USB port, Bluetooth, WiFi,...? What are you talking about?

Sorry about the delay in responding and thanks for your reply. I was interested in plugging my G4 into my PC via USB to sync my contacts, calendar, etc. directly rather than via a cloud service.
My company will not allow me to sync an Android device w/ my work PC, but they will let me sync my old Tilt 2, a Windows Mobile phone. In my initial research, it appeared to be feasible via LG's 'LG Bridge' software, but I quickly found out that it will only sync photos, music, & other media, but my company will not allow me to load the software anyway... I already bought the phone.
I am able to add myself to appointments with my Google email address and Google will sync that calendar to my G4. In order to sync my contacts, I am back to syncing my old WM phone with my work PC, then I have to sync my WM phone with my home PC (via Windows Device Center), and then I sync my PC with my old HTC Vision (via HTC Sync). I have my Vision set up with my home WiFi, so that it syncs with my Google account. Google then syncs with my new G4. Not an ideal way of getting everything on my new phone, but it works for now.
What I'm looking for is something that eliminate my need to sync with my old Vision, but I have been unable to find what I need. Is that more clear?
Thanks!
