Perfect Launcher that works with Note(ex Touchwiz) - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Themes and Apps

Well, im sure those of you who are use to non stock launcher like adw, launcher pro, go ex, zeam, vlc, etc is struggling to find the perfect one for note.
by perfect i mean no scrolling, animation lag.
I'm putting up this thread so everyone can share what's their best launcher and what are the tweaks to get it buttery smooth
i know one of the fix is to root and change DPI to 240. it works wonders for many launcher...im one of those who prefers note at 320..unfortunately.

Advice: Just install KL3 base ROM (mine is stock KL3, deodexed, zipalign by eyebee1970), almost all popular launcher is smooth... though im using GOlauncher now...

+1 same configuration working perfect here too (+ FM 1.4 Kernel OC to 100/1704 MHz)

I'm on adw, rocket ROM overcooked to 1.7 with no issues. Was on go launcher. I change a lot as I like new looks daily

I'm using ADW, but what I've found is turning off wallpaper scrolling makes things feel 100X more smooth.

Nemus launcher works perfect for me, also has horizontal mode!

Man, I thought you were exaggerating, so I tried out and it's true! KL3 has solved the lag issues with 3rd party launchers! Now GO Launcher EX doesn't lag at all, even at 5x5 grid.
Thanks.

From where can we download KL3 ROM?

I've used LauncherPro on all my androids with no real issue.
With my Note, I disabled 'screen bounce' and it doesn't lag at all.

I like Go Launcher.

I use Go Launcher. To make it smooth I use Spare Parts + to change the animation speed to fast. Everything seems smooth now.

where can i find the "spare parts" app thats workig well with Note's framework?

Currently using ADW Ex on KL3 and it runs beautifully.
*wipes a tear*

On stock launcher use QuickPic to select non-scrolling wallpaper(1 screen).

im on KL3 now and launcher works much better. launcher pro seems to be doing well, go launcher EX is dependent on which animation. still can't get effects like cylinder and sphere to run smoothly without lag.(appdrawer seems to work well)
first 2 swipe still laggish.
Anyone on Go launcher EX care to share?

Zeam launcher is the best for me.smoother than anyone.simple and beautiful.

O would to use TW 4.5 launcher since i cam edit and use theme without flashing. Is there tw 4.5 for note? Just curious. Thanks

I'm using SPB shell in the tablet mode widgets don't always but for the most part very smooth.

like to see TW 4.5 on NOTE oso

I love zeam launcher pretty fast and lightweight.

I've tried most of them and I always keep on going back to LauncherPro. The application drawer is the smoothest of the bunch.
Adw ex is by far the best launcher if you get the settings right its as smooth and fast as ios on the iphone4.
I've bought, and had Launcher Pro. I liked it, but once I tried out GO Launcher, I haven't been back since.
I always go back to Launcher pro its great. I like adw ex but I wish they had the names of the transition effects. it'll make it easier to pick which one you want to use. I would use Go Launcher it smooth and its FREE, but I'm not crazy about the resizing icons or my dock when I pick a dock or an icon for the dock. It'll come out blurry and fuzzy out of focus.
But Go Launcher is great and its always improving did I mentioned its FREE. Its a tough decision but for a home replacement with all the features I would pick Go Launcher.

i have a low end device (about 400 mhz cpu) and launcher pro had the smoothest transitions than all the other launchers
Zeam is the fastest for me, then comes GO Launcher. I use ADW EX tho, it has more customization than the others, but its much faster than Launcher Pro. (For me that is)
I've also tried HeLauncher, its pretty snappy. It also has a feature that has a lot of docks. From Sense, to Gingerbread, to some of the custom Sense docks on XDA.
for me, tag home is light weight and fast, but there's little you can do to its drawer or windows.

I was using launcher pro but after running ADW EX on my wifes Eris I have switched to that for about the last week. I don't see any drop in performance and the customization is amazing compared to LP. From themes to gestures and animations, the icon resizing is great as well. If you want something no frills you can always try Launcher 7 as well. It emulates the launcher from windows phone 7. It all comes down to preference really,i actually have 4 or 5 launchers on my phone that I keep just to show people differences first hand when they are choosing for their phones.

We could all sit here and tell you what our fav launcher is and why but it would not do much good. The speed will very depending on many things. Rom, Background apps, Device, Available mem, the list goes on and on. Best bet is to try them each out and find the fastest one for you on your device
Go launcher for me... Used all 3 for sometime and Go launcher have best of both awd and launcher pro world...
As nobody can ever agree which is faster i'm going to go out on a limb and say they're all about the same!
I tried ADW ex, GO ex and some others. I don't know why, but the only launcher with real fluid animations is LauncherPro.
I also like it's widgets.
Waiting for the completely rewritten LP....
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
In terms of the "feel" of the launcher, LP has been for me, hands down the smoothest and best feeling launcher (I've tried everything there is to try I think). In terms of plain speed, probably Zeam.
Go Launcher
Go Launcher will be my preference
I just switched to using Go Launcher EX from using Launcher Pro Plus and I think Go is much faster and responsive. However, that's all subject to change after the LPP rewrite is completed.

Any launchers running smooth yet?

Last week there was a couple people reporting that Launcher Pro, ADW and Go EX were not running smooth. I am wandering if any of these launchers are running smooth yet.
My launcher pro is always smooth as butter.
Just turn 3d app drawer off.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1051616
See this thread to greatly improve the UI smoothness. It's an LG screw-up.
My ADW works flawlessly
Lets see, I tried, ADW, launcher Pro, and Go launcher. I finally stayed with Launcher pro. I have elasticity effect disabled when scrolling, and its real smooth for me. I had major lag issues with Go launcher when opening and closing the app drawer. I keep my screens very minimal with the least amount of widgets as possible, not sure if that has an effect to the performance. Compared to the stock launcher, Launcher pro is alot more responsive, atleast in my case it is. I would like to read what are other people here using as well.

Launcher Pro is very smooth on this phone, smooth as iphone4.
+1 for no issues with ADW.EX

+1 for Launcher Pro free version. 3d drawer runs smooth, every LWP I've used also worked nicely.
ADWex has been great....especially after paulobien's patch.
I'm not having any problems with go launcher.
I'm running LP+, It's running really well. I probably would have stayed on the stock launcher for a bit (easily the smoothest I've ever felt on stock), but I just can't give up my scrollable dock.

Complete noob - can someone explain how to install the patch on a device? I haven't rooted yet and am still learning. I apologize for the ignorance, but I was a crapberry user for 6 years.
You'll have to root first - pretty easy, follow the instructions at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1039985. Then download ROM Manager and use that to install ClockworkMod Recovery. Transfer the file to the root of your external SD card. Using ROM manager choose 'reboot into recovery'. Then when you get to the recovery menu, using the volume and power keys navigate to 'install .zip from SD card' and select the file.

Thanks for that reference, hadn't found that one yet. Going to give it a try. Regina home works great on this phone, tried it once on my captivate = lots of lag. With the dual processor it flies though. Its a resource killer but great for showing off. I use adw for everyday purposes and LCD resolution app, set to 200. This let's you take advantage of the 4.5" screen IMO.

the only smooth launcher is launcher pro.
I'm using Go Launcher and love it.
But it does crash sometimes in the sense that the launch icons all turn into "+" symbols. Also sometimes I'll have to press more than once to launch something.
TW is not choppy for me. I don't know man...I have also flipped Willy nilly between different roms (stock root, all alien builds, s-stocketeer (1.0 & 1.5), back too nandroid, & once odin»to stock (almost forgot i flashed CRT off zip as soon as it was posted as well). All without a hitch, not sure if its dumb luck or what. I got my I727

I've been using the ICS Launcher now on mine and have been enjoying it. Very fast scrolling and I love the looks.
I've used Launcher Pro, ADW EX, and SPB Shell in the past. All good launchers. For customizing, ADW Ex is one of my favorites.
You may just have to try them all.
You can use ROM Toolbox for fonts, they have a ton on there. I have tried a few of the other tweaks but they have not worked and I end up restoring.
The Best and most supported Launcher
I have tried ADW EX and all the launchers out there. I am now using and loving " GO LAUNCHER" it constanly has updates, widgets, SMS app and themes for everything- VERY VERY customizable- Alot of themes and wigets are absolutely free !!! Runs fast also- Try it out- you will now be disappointed....

What launcher are you using?

Hello,
Im using trebuchet right now, because I don't want to change my unstable cyanogen 9.
I replaced my stock adw from cm7 for go launcher ex, because it is less laggy and you can hide apps.
So my questions is what are you using and why are you using it?

Apex launcher of course! Its smooth and easy to use.
Stock LG Optimus launcher using stock Froyo.
Apex Launcher with a Blu Kuban twist. The only launcher and ROM worth running IMHO.
Nova Launcher. Very nice. I will probably get the paid version as soon as I have money to spare. End of the month here so I'm prioritizing food instead..
I like the app drawer and the fact that you can turn off all the animations etc. If it's something I hate it's 3d effects in the home screen and app drawer. Urgh.
It's the only one I've felt is actually better than HTC Sense 4.0 that is already on the device (One V). I would probably be more keen to switch the launcher if I had a Samsung phone.
With ICS I love using Apex. One of the most fluid launchers I've ever used, and it's pretty customizable.

Even with ICS my favourite launcher is still GO Launcher. In fact, I think the GO Dev team bring a large number of quality apps to Android, which is something a lot of Android apps unfortunately lack.

I personally LOVE Trebuchet Launcher, but it is a part of CyanogenMod. I have not found any others that I really like, so I am using CM10, because it is the BEST hands down.
Now, you MIGHT be able to find the apk and put it on the stock ICS, but that might defeat the whole purpose of Trebuchet, but just to get back on the subject at hand, and that is that apex launcher is EXACTLY like Trebuchet, and it is not too bad, and worth a look.
Oh and here is flashable zip for Trebuchet, not sure how well it will work on this phone without CM on it, but it might also be worth a look.

performance wise, Nova launcher is the best by far.. though i have used Apex a lot.. the transitions in Nova launcher seem much faster.. the full version lets you make folders in app drawer and use gestures too
Personally, I like Go Launcher. It has a screenshot option which is kind of handy since the one in CM10 doesn't crop them properly at the moment.
Go keeps me going! Best to suit ma requirements!
I've tried adw, nova and apex. Apex in my opinion is the smoothest. Nova would lag at times. I bought Apex pro yesterday and it has a lot of extra features. Basically it will come down to what you like but i would recommend Apex.

Apex or ADW for sure. Nova always had 'twitches' here n there while scrolling. ADW is the most customizable launcher I've ever used n just as smooth as apex. Mind you, gotta be on ICS and up for Apex and Nova. ADW works on all, but to use all features it has, you'll have to be on JB.
