tmobile galaxy tab calls - Samsung Galaxy Tab Plus

can the new 7" galaxy tab be hacked to make calls like the original version?

not with its current honeycomb os. Maybe when it gets ics we'll be able to know for sure.

Also be aware the T-Mo verison does not have the ear piece speaker like the international version.

I would suggest SGSII or Galaxy Note those were the best and the most powerful by far not mentioning amazing custom ROM support.
I'd go Galaxy Nexus... the Note is retardedly big. Unless you are cool rocking an BT headset 90% and texting using Vlingo, it look hilarious for voice calls
I'm on Verizon I thought the note was like an iPod I didn't think it had phone service.......resound doesn't have hdmi out that is a must have

I would go for the Nexus or wait for the Galaxy SIII (hopefully the wait is not too long.)

Asus Padfone for me!
Probably the Galaxy S3. Hopefully we'll see an updated Note later in the year.
Sony Xperia S... Can't wait longer for future phones
Probably the new iPhone, depending on what they come up with.

Galaxy S3 for me....if it lives up the hype
hopefully it gets as much Dev attention as the S2
I'm waiting for Windows Phone 8 devices
I've had my eye on the Galaxy Note for a while. I'm a little worried that it's only the first of a new line though and that it could be out dated quickly with the rate mobile technology is moving these days. Alternatively, I was thinking about the Galaxy SIII, but since it's not out yet it's hard to see how it will actually stack up.
What's everyone else think about that?

Not sure yet, but seeing as my HTC has had its life dramatically extended by HTC unlocking bootloader for thier devices and so making it much easier to root and mod I am finding it difficult to find a complelling reason to move from HTC
Here is the Galaxy SIII quad core processor in action vs the dual core.

I definitely want a bigger screen. I have the DROID Bionic now and am interested in seeing what Verizon brings to the table this summer, hoping its better than there lackluster options last summer (Droid 3, Droid X2)
I am very interested in the Galaxy S3. Like I said the next thing I want in my next phone is a bigger screen, but not really taken up with onscreen keys like the Nexus. I would be OK picking up a Note variant if Verizon got it this summer, but anything with a quad core would be cool just too say I have it, even if it really isnt necessary.
Galaxy Note (TMobile). I have been saying Galaxy Note is the "best smartphone of 2012" ever since it was announced back in 2011. Now both One X and S3 specs are out and none of them have changed my mind.
I will for sure choose between a Galaxy S3 and One X

[Q] our Samsung Infuse 4g is apparently a Galaxy S Phone

http://www.samsung.com/ca/consumer/mobile/mobile-phones/smartphones/SGH-I997ZKARWC-features
i was searching around on google and came across this link for the canadian site of the samsung infuse and our phone is listed as a galaxy s device
so does that mean we have the milestone gs 2 ?
That's the Rogers version. Notice the R at the end of mode.It is considered a Galaxy S, but I don't think the ATT version is considered one. Even though it basically the same phone.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using Tapatalk 2
I think Infuse is more like Galaxy S1.5. Infuse has similar hardware look to Galaxy S2 (super amoled plus screen, back cover design, etc) but has similar spec to Galaxy S (512 ram, single core, etc)
Agreed, the occasionally overlooked and under appreciated middle child of Samsung. Born before the Galaxy S, born before the Galaxy S II. Love my phone regardless tho!!

Which phone should I get?

Well, as the title reads, which phone should I get next? My AT&T contract will be fulfilled in the next couple of months so, I've been looking at available AT&T phones. I currently have an HTC Desire Z and I love the size of it - easy to put in and take out of my jeans pocket. Most of the new phones I see are so big they should come with a back pack for them. Can anyone recommend a late model, fast phone that isn't as huge as the HTC One X and Samsung G3? And, please don't say "Iphone".
No offence but they don't sell those phones without camera anymore welcome to 2012 almost 13 everything is big now TV's cellphones etc

Nexus 4 or Galaxy S3. You could just head over to the AT&T store and road test some.

I suggest trying the one x plus. Its big but you'll get used to the size. If not then there is the Motorola atrix HD

I think ~5" is the perfect size for a smartphone - big enough screen to see things and enjoy it, but small enough to still use effectively with one hand.
Honestly, I remember the first cell-phone I ever used and it was WAY bigger.
If you do want something smaller, though - I don't know, I'd probably look at international phones that would work with ATT, or just go into an ATT store or such and look around. The Galaxy S3 Mini is smaller, but I don't know how well it will work on ATT and what you could expect (it lacks LTE, I've heard). It also depends on the performance you're expecting.
have you considered one of those quality Chinese android handsets ?
things like the Newman N1, GooPhone, ZTE V970 etc ?
I think you should go with Galaxy S3. I am also using this phone last some months it's a superb mobile phone bacase it has 4.8 inch Superb Super AMOLED display with saturated colors and high contrast with 8 megapixel camera with autofocus, flash and HD video recording, 4.0 android operating system, Quad-core 1.4 GHz Processor and 2050 mAh battery capacity. You can read full details here:

Thanks for all the replies! I do plan to look around the AT&T store but sometimes its a little overwhelming when I start diving into the specs for every phone.
I was not aware of the "quality" made chinese phones; I may look into that.
Thanks again for the help and if there are anymore recommendations please, keep them coming.

Well i have an s3 and a note 2 but i gotta say the new iphone 5 is the best it beats most droid phones.
If i could afford one i would get one.

Getting my kid a new phone for Christmas (she has my old Droid X). Was contemplating an IPhone, soley because of the incredible speech-to-text features (something my Bionic is woefully poor at) Sales dude at Verizon showed me what a Samsung can do in that realm....was utterly impressed....no diference from the 'Sirry' IPhone thing (apparently it hinges on a google service)
what's your budget? Desire z is mid range so if your budget is about the same then look at Galaxy S2.
Budget will be determined by AT&T having a phone I will settle with on a contract extension so, I guess my budget will be $200~300.

Best phone on the market at the minute (*arguably*) is the ASUS Padfone 2.. but sadly it isn't available in the US (no US release date mentioned yet either).. so would probably say the LTE version of the Samsung Galaxy S3 would be a contender..
I'm not really looking at the IPhone 5 but will the IPhone 5 sync with my google contacts and google calendar? That's one thing I really like about the android phones. From my research the iphone 5 can be made to sync with all my google stuff but how effective/accurate is it? Are there any bugs or issues with this?

I just took the Huawei U8836d shine and i'm very happy with it. Changed the stock rom to custom and has great battery life than other chinese brands. Great design. gorilla glass and sturdy materials plus very thin and comfortable. Check it out.
I recommend Samsung Galaxy Note II , it's really amazing phone very fast , smooth and got the latest Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean

Galaxy Ace for your Preffered Size
I would Suggest to go for Samsung Galaxy Ace or You can Opt for Huawei Ascend.
I will suggest you to don't go for small screen size as 2013 will be the Year of Big Screens so if you are willing then go for Note II you will love it and Also will get use to its Big Size.
Regards,
Tamour

Mp3 player running jb

Does anyone know if there is an iPod type android device that is running JB? I would need a SD slot and a decent rear camera.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
There is the galaxy player. Its not on jb and hasnt been popular because I think that mist people who want an android mp3 player just use their phone. There is also the motoactiv for something smaller. I know its rooted and old buddy of mine worked with a dev here and they did it. Again I don't think its jb.
U believe your best jb solution is a phone.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
You could just use a phone without a sim card installed? Or when it's a CDMA phone just don't activate it. Lots of people did that with the CDMA One V. I think that would be your best option, a phone that isn't activated or doesn't have a SIM card installed.
Sent from my One V using xda premium
Phones are pretty pricey especially those that are on jb. And there doesn't seem to be a decent used market for jb updated phones yet. I can use my nexus 7 but it's kind of big and no sd or camera. So until someone sees a market for it I'm out of luck.
Edit. Here's something. Does anyone have any experience with these Chinese knock offs?

BTW there are rumors and prototype pics out there of a new galaxy watch but the iPod has so completely taken over the mp3 player space they killed the zone which Microsoft threw money at like crazy. I don't know that there is or will be an android offering of any note too soon
