I have the Motorola Triumph flashed to TickerGuy's FINAL CyanogenMod 7 Release, BETA 8 with Mantera's Overclocking Kernel TheOC v1.5 (LOVE LOVE LOVE this setup, by the way )
The problem I am having, and had even before with the stock Triumph ROM and Kernel, is NO splash image upon bootup. My boot animation works perfectly, but where the Motorola logo should be when you first boot, I just have a black screen for about 10 to 15 seconds. I tried flashing a new splash image multiple times with no luck. What are some steps I can take to get the splash image to show up so I can flash a custom one? I know it's not a big deal, but I'm HUGE on the aesthetic features available on this phone.

I have recently rooted my LG Optimus V and I decided I wanted Gingerbread, so I flashed my stock rom, then installed CM7 through Rom Manager. I backed up my phone before installing. Now my phone starts up with CM7, but freezes during the blue welcome animation (where the blue android comes in on the skateboard). The arrow loops around, freezes, restarts the animation where the guy comes in on the skateboard, loops around, and freezes for good. I left it on in that position all night, but it doesnt get past the animation.
What do I do if my phone refuses to boot up? Any suggestions?

did you wipe dalvik cache, cache, and data before you flashed cm7? if not, boot into recovery (with your phone off, its home+vol down+power) and do so. if that doesnt work, restore your backup. from what ive heard, rom manager can cause some problems for our phone, so use amonra/thunderg recovery instead:

Hello guys. I really need your help right now.
I have rooted HTC Evo 3D GSM. I have used this technique: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1248231
And I have used ROM KingCobra3D. But recently I have problems with 2D photos capture. Result is just grey stripes. So I have decided to restore my original ROM backup and perform just official ICS update. But, when I have started to install the update. It just shows white triangle and orange [!] with blue android.
I have readed one topic about this and I realised that I cant perform official ICS update. So I have decided to just install another ROM. But.. I have big problem now. When I install some custom ROM with classic DATA/CACHE WIPE and WIPE DALVIK CACHE. But... when I install the ROM. It lags in boot animation... I have tried to wait at least 15 minutes and nothing happened. I have tried to do hard reset, but it had same problem.. still lag in boot animation. It was Evolver3D ROM... so I have decided to use another.. but every other ROM stucks in boot animation. When I get to boot animation, it just reboot and in boot animation it reboots again. Only rom which is working ic Cyanogenmod 9, but I dont want it. So I am practicaly stuck in original ROM. Backup works at least.
Do you have any helpful tips? If the solution is not exactly simple, I would appreciate help via Skype or something like that.
Thanks
now that i finally got clockwork working im trying to change the boot image. i have LG Ally so first is the LG logo then the VERIZON splash screen then the android logo. i flashed a boot.zip thing called matrix and it said sucessfull but it doessnt show up at boot...my other question is if i delete or replace the lg and verizon images will is mess up my OS or can i boot without them... do i need to replace them manually with a certain type of file or will a .gif or .jpeg or something work in its place?
Did you flash a custom Rom? Most of those zips are built for a specific ROM, so unless you are running that custom ROM, it probably will not work. Also it sounds like you are referring to the actual boot splash screen and not the boot animation, the difference being the animation appears after the splash screen. With a custom ROM, what will happen is the ROM will retrieve boot animations from a folder first, from which you can put your custom animation and boot splash. If nothing resides in that file, it will default to the boot animation on the phone, at least that is my understanding.
unfortunatley im having trouble finding a rom for the LG Ally. all the links i find are broken and no one at the Ally section of android forums will answer any of my questions. if anyone knows the best rom to have for lg ally here id appreciate it but i doubt the download link works
Before using Lean Kernel, I was always able to change the boot (splash) screen using this method, and having fun replacing it every once a while :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1951551
Now, ever since I started to use Lean Kernel, I can no longer flash any of these spash mods. Although the installation in recovery looks fine, when the phone boots up, the flashed image turns into pink and black no matter what the original image is. I don't have problem with LK's pink logo. I am just wondering how LK adds the pink color to whatever splash image flashed afterwards, and if there is a way to still change splash screen with LK.
Any help?
With LeanKernel you can't stop it from turning the splash screen pink. It is one of its quirks.
Hello, forum
For quite a while, I've been getting a weird issue - I get a black screen while booting. When the phone's about to boot, the boot animation comes up. I thought that it was my ROM (stock, rooted CM11S), but installing PA 4.6 got the same result. I have multiROM installed. Could that be an issue?
Thanks
Raptor
Interesting question. So the initial boot splash screen is not showing, and near the final booting, the boot animation does show?
Have you tried adb refreshing a boot logo onto one or each of the partitions?
