so my father in law just got the htc resound he loves it and verizon let him keep his bionic and asked me i wanted to trade him the charge for the bionic i know the screen isn't as amazing but that doesn't bother me as much anyone else thoujght about making the switch or have comments thanks...
Well I'd say see if he'll let you try it out for a few days. If you like it, then do it. If not then dont
He lives in Arizona lmao

I like the screen and would stick with the charge. Have you checked Dev support for it or will you be happy stock? I like the feel of my wifes motorola dx2 as it felt solid. She has the Charge as I do now and she stuck with the Charge even with all the flaws. She could have went back to the DX2 or had a Bionic. All up to you.
A. Dev support
B. Happy stock
C. Screen( have heard it many times the screen looked so bad they came back to Charge)
D. Get him to send it first see if you like it then send him whichever you dont want.
He has the resound and has a phone to use so its just some shipping.
Yeah going down there from Christmas so ill have a few days to try outb

**** if he wants to sell it cheap enough I might buy it as something else to screw around with. Have a DX2 just sitting here might try and toss something on. Always good to have something extra around. Thats the problem, extra laptops and the way HDTV"s are going mine aren't gonna be worth **** when I upgrade and only have so many bedrooms.
ha ha he is not selling it he is giving it to me for free he is just trading me the bionic acroos the board and is going to sell the charge... been wanting i dual core phone just never had the money for one being in the sales buisness really has its ups and downs...

I'm looking to sell my droid x. Somewhere around 250 for everything. The X rooted or unrooted, stock or not. all powercords the normal battery and an unused screen protector. I do have the original box and manuals. throwing in the 16GB and possibly a sony bluetooth headset. This being said the reason i would like to sell my droid x is so that i can help dev the new Thunderbolt since I live in the 4g area but being unemployed i need help with donations to purchase one so the more donations I receive the cheaper i can let the X go. I'm looking to port themes and possibly ROMs when it's possible. I am a very avid enthusiast and try to stay on the cutting edge of development. ill post some pix in a little bit. If you would like to donate towards the thunderbolt let me know and ill try to figure out how to link u to a donation page or if you are interested in buying my droid x shoot me a message with an offer thanks for taking the time to look.
Nice to see you here ..I'm selling mine as well..Anyway I think the DEV team for the TB gonna be VERY active..can't wait, even though I don't have the phone lol..

I usually sell my phones/tablets quickly using Craigslist. I also offer them at a cheaper price on my FB to any friend looking for an upgrade. I go through about 2-4 phones per year and typically pay $100-$200 per phone if I sell before values drop, unsubsidized. Though the TB was subsidized, first one in two years.
Thinking about trying the inspire again, and I'm past my 30 days with the atrix. Its a fine phone with a huge battery and nice screen. Anyone want to give one a try let me know. I have an incipio feather case ill trade with it. Both case and phone are in mint condition. Inspire must also be in mint condition.
...and do we just switch the phones and keep our SIM cards?
That won't create a problem with AT&T&T-Mobile?

I guess. Shouldn't be a problem, both devices are on some sort of smartphone data plan... it's not like one is an iphone data plan and the other is just smartphone.
And why are you interested in an Inspire? Bigger screen? Better camera? Something else?
Yes, what interests you in this whole deal? I am intrigued in this trade possibly and wanna make sure nothing is fishy here hahaha.
Haha there's nothing fishy, trust me. Truth is I've already owned an inspire. I love sense, and I basically got rid of it because of the battery life. I believe with the current roms and rocking green power premium, I could deal with it, and I want it back.
I'm a 23 year old college student, would only trade face to face, and would certainly let whoever demo the atrix to make sure its all good. I take exceptional care of all of my possessions. I'm the kind of dude that would lose it if so much a scratch happened on my phone.
They are both great phones, and I'm probable just being indecisive.
Well I was actually interested in the Atrix myself but am in the same boat as you hahaha. Well if you make up your mind pm me and maybe we can make a deal on the trade.

After thinking this through, I can't justify a trade without any sort of money thrown in to the deal. Especially considering I'm going to have to buy another case for the inspire.
I'm also sketched about the battery. Its nice getting 36 hours. Make me an offer if you're really interested.

Or on the other hand, could anyone do a store exchange for a brand new one? That would sweeten the deal as well

Difference is atrix has its bootloader locked meaning u have to wait on every update via IT'S. It may be dual core but nothing on phone takes advantage of the processor speed. My inspire runs at a great rate and for those quadrant lovers, mine hits 32000 compared to atrix's 2700? If u love atrix,go got it. I returned mine and motoblur is flipping pathetic. Inspire ALL THE WAY!!

So i'm trying to decide on a new phone. i have an upgrade available on my main line. I don't want to shell out $200-300 for a new phone, but Verizon has CPO (basically refurbished) Droid Charges listed at $50. My current Eros is a refurb and is better than the original i originally received. Anyone else tried a CPO Charge and if so what was your experience?

At this point I would wait for the Nexus.

I think a lot of people here got CLNR (certified like new replacements, refurbs basically) Charges in the Fascinate swap fiasco... speaking for myself yes it has worked flawlessly aside from the data dropping occasionally (and annoyingly) which has been pretty much fixed with EP3H build and higher radios, it always flashes correctly, never borked it doing anything, and the screen looks as great as when I first got it
so yeah if you're looking for a nice 4G phone (that I would say needed heavy tweaking to work right on Froyo, but the new GB OTA seems to be pretty solid) and don't wanna wait for the Nexus or shell out for a newer model if you can get a Charge for $50 its a steal

I love my Charge. It seems pretty unpopular with the phone community, but I don't quite see why. The screen alone makes it worth having. Little features like the HDMI out and from facing camera make it a great phone.
I will admit, stock Froyo was TERRIBLE! Don't get a Charge unless you are going to install a custom ROM with lagfix. But when overclocked the Charge is a beast!
Since you're looking for VALUE, I'd say $50 for a Charge would be an awesome deal. Just know getting into it, that we don't have a huge dev community. Also, a lot of our current devs are leaving (imoseyon changed jobs and is losing his Charge and imnuts has only pledged support for the Charge for the next few months, since he is getting a Nexus).
Check Amazonwireless.com where Charges are free for new lines, maybe even existing lines as well.
I seriously don't know why people would buy anywhere else. The new Nexus will probably be cheaper there as well. Eventually you will be able to get a free Galaxy Nexus there.
When Charges were 300 bucks each, I got mine for $150 each (they were $200 on Amazonwireless, but then they dropped them to $150 a week later, I called and they honored their new price for me.)

People don't buy elsewhere for many reasons, one of them is the fine print. Should you cancel your plan, you have a double ETF. Also, some VZW corporate stores will not help you if there is an issue and you didn't buy the device from them. The biggest reason I wouldn't buy it from Amazon or many other 3rd parties is the added ETF, and the odds of them screwing up my account are much higher, like changing my insurance or data plan.

Keep dreaming. They just rolled out GB update the other day. IF the Charge sees an official ICS release, it is still months away, and I would guess after the Nexus comes, so there is no point whatsoever.
Yeah, i'm not really expecting OFFICIAL support, but hopefully some of the devs will pick up the torch.

regardless of the size of the dev community its still a nice phone... battery life is decent, screen is awesome, its not too heavy or thick, camera is pretty darn good plus I foresee a lot of people picking up Charges and other older-gen 4G phones when the Nexus drops (hopefully some devs/themers) and eBay/craigslist gets flooded... that said we have a good group of dedicated, albeit small in number, devs and themers that even now still put up with us and update constantly lol

Fun little secret: Most of the CLNR Charges sent out in the Fascinate swap were new retail packages with a CLNR sticker pasted over the original.
got mine as a CPO back in late August/Early September.
also got my wife the iPhone. my Charge has been great thus far - especially with the help of these fine folks here on XDA and Chargeforums.com, I've been able to get the most out of it - so it really won't matter if you get a CPO. the warranty is still the same....

Start it up, if it vibrates when it turns on, the vibrate works. Let it boot up and make sure the keypad works when you have to create your account to make sure the touchscreen is fine.
Make sure it's the Skyrocket and not the S2. The Skyrocket says Galaxy SII on the back but the camera is different and so are the front buttons, look at pictures to compare.
The reason people sell brand new phones for lower than retail is because the people start a new contract, get a top of the line phone for free or dirt cheap and then they sell it and continue using their previous phone.
$300 for a Skyrocket is a steal in my opinion, test and make sure everything works and all the accessories are there.
He may have got it for free from AT& T when he boight a Galaxy Tab. They have a a deal going on.

If you are like me and don't like threads saying bye to the sub-forum because the user is changing devices feel free to skip the whole rest of this. I usually don't like those threads either.
However, with tongue firmly planted in cheek:
I'm ditching this Droid Charge because:
It didn't wash the windows
It didn't bring about world peace (yes that comes after washing the windows. I likes some clean windows, I do.)
It didn't feed the hungry or clothe the nekked...and man some of those ugly people need some clothes! Why won't this phone stop the insanity?
It didn't provide notifications while the sender was typing the message or before. Really, I would have rather had the notification before the sender woke up that day.
The voices in the phone kept talking to me and I didn't like what they had to say. "If you would like to make a call..."
I couldn't find the Any Key. Hell, I couldn't find any keys period. There were a couple of buttons, but no keys. How the hell am I supposed to open locks without any key?
The battery wouldn't charge itself. I mean, come one. Why is this too much to ask? I just want a phone that absorbs energy from the room...preferably from iPhones. I'd love it if my friend's iPhones batteries would die even faster when my phone was in the room. The OEM developers really dropped the ball on this one.
All kidding aside: This Droid Charge hasn't been stable since I got it. It was 10x better than the Fascinate garbage I came from. I've loaded ROM after ROM and some work better than others. All of them are better than the stock experience and the XDA / RootzWiki developers have my thanks for their help and time. I've had stability problems from day one and even once I'd get them ironed out stability problems would come back regardless of kernel. I've reloaded the PIT and stock ROMS plenty of times. I haven't overclocked or undervolted and this thing acts like I'm running an aggressive scheme.
So, I'm jumping ship to the Droid Razr Maxx. It will be here on Tuesday. Maybe I can sell this thing on eBay for a few bucks with the docks and extra batteries. I didn't want a Motorola phone, but I haven't been impressed with the chances I've given Samsung, so time to try something new. I'm glad that the Droid Razr Maxx has the Super AMOLED screen.
So long and thanks for all the fish.
I envy you....i will wait one year with the phone before i start harrassing vzw for an early upgrade.
Droid Charge 4G LTE
I've been looking myself as well for an upgrade too but my official upgrade doesn't come for another year. My line isn't the "master line" in the family plan that my line is part of. Also, I think we got the family plan after they stopped offering early upgrades for the "master line."
So that means I do one of the following...
Hit up eBay and see if I can get a phone there at a decent price. I'm hoping I can snag a Galaxy Nexus but some of the prices for those phones are going ridiculously high.
Save up and buy the phone at full price.

Well everyone that said that their gps worked for them no problem it never worked for use. It took forever. When my wife travels she takes enough stuff with her and needed something that worked. With the maxx we got everything we needed. A phone that locked on within 30 seconds, battery life that is incredible. Most everything we needed was there. People will say buy used. With new we get a warranty and the assurion protection. These can be used for a write off as a business expense.

I wouldn't buy moto personally, others seem to like it and from the looks of it it's really smooth. After playing with my moms droid 4, it seems blur makes everything difficult and things aren't as easy to set\ find things (probably been on touchwiz too long and need to explore others). My sister likes her droid 3 and my mom loves hers D4, I hope you will too with the MAXX. Good luck, enjoy that awesome machine!
By the looks of how technolgy for android is acknowledging upgrading our batterys to high mah batterys it seems more of these companys will follow motos lead. Especially since 4g practically destroys these batterys. By the time I have a upgrade devices with quad core and better batterys should be available. Kinda worth the wait.
