HI all,
we all know that tun.ko module is needed to make openvpn application work.
some devices does not have this module like the samsung galaxy i5510
samsung galaxy 5, samsung galaxy ace and other devices,
im wondering because the samsung i9000 stock rom does not have tun.ko
but on custom kernel they have tun.ko module,
so can any help me on how to create tun.ko modules for specific adroid units?
since tun.ko module is specific on the unit per-se, like for example tun.ko of galaxy spica will not work on tun.ko of samsung s i9000
so please if anyone can help me on how to create tun.ko module
Get the kernel source from Samsung or your phone's vendor, download the toolchain (if not included in the source bundle), install it all on an appropriate box (typically Linux, but some might cross-compile from other platforms), then compile it.
If the vendor isn't supplying you the kernel source and toolchain, then they are in violation of GPL and an email to their legal department should get you started in the right direction.
hmmm. seems very hard to do, resources are needed specifically
is there anyone having tun.ko for galaxy ace and galaxy 5
Yes I also need tun.ko for Galaxy Ace, anyone here pretty please . . .
Up for this . . .
Does anyone created the tun.ko for the LG Optimus 2X with the stock kernel ?
Does anyone has tun.ko for Dell Venue?
Hi all,
i am new in this forum, and I need help.
We have a rooted galaxy tab p3110 with latest stock rom and need to connect an ethernet adapter to it, in order to access a wired-only device.
We have a lindy USB dongle using MCS7830 kernel module
Nor Samsung stock rom, nor cyanogenmod 10.1 for p3110 seem to have this module compiled, but kernel source tree has its source.
We also tried to compile the module from source, but module version is not the same as stock kernel and the kernel is compiled with modversions enabled, so the externally compiled module cannot be loaded.
Can anyone tell me how to have this module working?
Feel free to ask any question to clarify the problem.
Regards
Qippur
This is very primary and stupid question but I still need your helping hand.
I am trying on collecting volatile memory form Samsung Galaxy Duos - GT-I8262 running Android version 4.1.2 build version: JZO54K.I8262XXAMG2.
In this link I found kernel source codes for the device, but I am not clear on what to use. There are several source code zip files. For example: GT-I8262_SEA what does stands for?
I think version is build version, none of the match with mine. So using incompatible build version to make loadable kernal module of LiME: Will if destroy my device.
Please help
Hello just building the custom kernel for S6310
I'm newbie on this development, so need guide from you all guys
This is not perfect build, but worth to try by S6310 users
"Indonesia tanah airku
Tanah tumpah darahku"
"Indonesia Raya
Merdeka Merdeka
Tanahku negriku yang kucinta"
"Indonesia Raya
Merdeka Merdeka
Hiduplah Indonesia Raya"Features:LZ4 legacy compressed kernel and initramfs (faster booting) (credit: kyungsik lee)
Kernel same page merging (reduce ram usage)
Patch kernel 3.4.106 (kernel.org)
Zram compress-decompress with latest LZO
Latest toolchains GCC 4.9.3
Support 3 ways swapping ram (zram, swapfile, swapdisk)
Min freq 122MHz, max freq 1152MHz
Tweaked read speed sdcard
Many more
BUG:
Tell meHere the kernel : signed_kernel8.zip
And modules : signed_modules8.zip
HOW TO INSTALL?
Just flash both via CWM or TWRP
This kernel featured with 3 ways swapping ram:
-zram
-swapfile
-swap partition
Choose only 1 of them, Don't use more than 1!
Because this kernel is not supported for init.d, you need install universal init.d application and make it ON then reboot to your custom recovery.
1. Activating zram: download this zram
Flash via cwm/twrp
2. Activating swapfile: download this Swapfile
Flash via cwm/twrp
3. Activating swap partition:
You need make third partition on your sdcard to linux swap partition (256 MB recommended).
You can use CWM/TWRP to partition your sdcard, don't forget to backup first.
And download this ram partition
Flash via CWM

FYI:
I build it specially for S6310 device working properly on that type of device, maybe will work on some device like S6310L, S6310N, S6312, etc but there is no guarantee to working properly, big possibility you will lose some features that S6310 don't have.

Thank you for your work I'm a S6312 user, and I'll try it and give you my feedback

Hello, can you tell me: Are you working on this kernel daily?
Is it changing the visual effects or anything in the Rom?
Do you have the original kernal? You know, just in case. Thanks.

No, i do it when have time.
You can see on my github commit for changelog
I mean: do you use this kernel in your phone everyday?
Have you experienced any troubles with it?
And what with the visual side of the kernel? Is it changing anything?

Yes sure i using this kernel on my daily
No visual side effect. But if you found any bug, let me know
If you allow the CPU to reach a higher frequency it will be better...just make it like mammoth kernel allow OC to a speed of 1292mh and it will be the best kernel for this device. z
Is thread dead? Would like to install this on my GT-S6310N also to test it out.
Actually, the NFC might break huh ? since it's for the 6310 ...
Love to hear from you, OP
working like a charm. im using it from now on too until we get cm12 for this phone. but i installed ram expander instead of the zram zip here. its easier with ram expander instead trying to get init.d to work and create scripts in there.
Ok
Hi i have a broken tablet (without FW) - Medion LifeTab E7310 (RK3066), so i need to install new rom to it, but my problem is that i can't find anywhere kernel for it - Medion on it's website gives only source of kernel from that tablet (stock 4.1) - can anyone compile it for me? Link:
http://www1.medion.de/downloads/dow...-mp-gpl-source.tar.bz2&id=12411&type=software
I've found compiled kernel for similar model (E7312) but wifi/bluetooth doesn't work (and rotation is "broken" by 90* degree).
I also need to compile, Imperium ROM: _https://github.com/tamirda/G900F_PhoeniX_Kernel_Lollipop/tree/tw6.0.1 (because ZIP download link is broken). I was unable to create new thread, so I found this one
