[Q] Android Complete Backup Solution .? - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

Hi ,
I just came from iPhone to android , and knowing that a complete dedicated backup manager like itunes for iphone doesn't exist for android b'coz of its cloud approach .
I then came by some software solutions , but am confused which is the best to use .
Can someone shed some light on what the below softwares do & which one is the best :
1. Titanium Backup
2. MyBackup Pro
3. nandroid
FYI i have a galaxy S2 ( 16GB ) without an SD card and am rooted on 2.3.5 .
Please explain what each one does .
Also , are there any desktop based solution (like itunes for iphone ) for android backup .??
Please reply ...

From the Titanium Backup wiki

1. What can Titanium Backup back up ?
- All the applications you have installed, included protected ones,
- All the data and settings of these applications,
- Most (nearly all) of your phone's settings and data.
- Titanium Backup 3.8.0+ will also backup the system applications from your ROM, not just their settings and data.

This is the only program that I've used from your list but never try a complete backup ,only some programs.
I don't know very well how Itunes make backup but Titanium Backup is one of the most widely used on Android.

Titanium Backup

Can someone please advise if there is such WM backup app similar to the Titanium Backup used in Android. Today I am using SPB Backup which backups everything, program apps as well as ROM system, however it would be nice if we can just backup the program apps without the OS, in this way we can conveniently install those favorite program apps to new or updated ROM's. Many thanks.

[Q] Titanium and ROM replacement

Ok, it is clear, as stated into General Q&A:
=========
Will i lose all my texts, apps, etc when i install a new rom?
Yes you will. You could make a titanium backup of everything though and restore it when your done flashing the roms so you can get everything back. Download titanium from the market.
=========
What I don't understand is this: almost all ROM requires wipe data, and this sounds to me settings/data are different among different ROM version. Am I wrong ?
Q1 - If I am not wrong, would a data/settings restore create the same issues like a ROM replacement w/o backup/restore ? At the end, it seems to me, there would not be any difference among backup+ROM replacement+restore and simply ROM replacement without backup&restore
Q2 - would it be better to backup and restore everything (system apps&data, user apps&data) or would it be better to be selective (i.e. only user apps&data) ? What do you generally backup and restore ?
Q3 - assuming a selective backup&restore is the best choice, I would like to know what backup in order to have it safe:
1) contacts' links
2) screens (home & others, in terms of links to applications spread across all the pages)
Awaiting any useful replies from you guys.
Thanks !
i always do a full app/data backup, then when the new rom is settled, do a full app/data + system resotre and then uninstall the apps i dont want.
this will also restore your "desktop" to what it looked like when you backed it up (if you came from the same launcher)
also restores all sms, mms, emails, recent calls etc. this way

[Q] HandyBackup

Hello:
I upgrade my Rom on my galaxy s1 and now i want to restore my data with handy backup and she told me "Restor failed.Backup might be missing."
when i'm looking at the folder with the files i see them but the apps suddenly can't restor them.
hellllp
sincerley,
I am not sure how to help you with handy backup but I would defiantly recommend titanium backup for all future use.

[Q] Android Full image backup ?

Hi just wonder if i could do full image backup of my Galaxy s3 i9300 before trying new custom roms?
My s3 is rooted
Did full wipe and then tried many custom roms.
Choosed the best one in my opinion PARDUS 13Beta4 rROm for my needs.
Then spend all day setting my phone up - apps and accounts (got plenty different types.), wigets.
Now i want to try different ROM and dont want to spend all day setting my existing rom again in case if i dont like new rom.
I hv heard of many backup solutions but did not try any of them yet.. ( dont want to loose anything ,inc msgs.logs etc)
I know apps and conntacts are backed up to google account but :
is there any thing that could backup image of my phone.. so i can recover it exacly to the same state as it is now incl rom settings messages, state of folders on iphone internal memory etc. ..everything in one go! as for example windows image backup does.
Thanx
You can always use CWM and create a Nandroid backup of your phone. Titanium backup is another good choice and probably more inclusive than a Nandroid backup.

[Q] Titanium Backup - dropbox back up

Hi,
recently purchased the titanium backup pro.
I have 2 android devices that are using it
samsung tab s and a S6.
I noticed that both devices upload to the dropbox in a single location - dropbox/TitaniumBackup.
Will it cause any issues of files being overwritten as there will definitely be some overlapping apps that i got for both devices.
Or will the file name be individualized so that will not be any problems when i restore back ups.
Another thing is, i usually do a manual restoration of my backup to the sdcard , now that both backups are in a single location, how can i "correctly" seperate them so i can transfer the correct one back to my device?
Or is there a feature within titaniumbackup that im not knowing, which can help to directly restore the backup from the dropbox location?
Btw, im upgrading my Samsung Tab S OS kitkat to lollipop.
will my data backup be still valid for usuage?
