Now that the Nexus is available, I am wondering if it would be worth dumping my DC for the Nexus. I would have to pay the full price for it.
Other than just wanting something new, I am not sure I can justify it. Stock rooted GB seems to be working well on my Charge. The only complaint I have is the lousy radio performance at work which sucks battery down to nothing in a half a day. I am not convinced the Nexus wouldn't do the same thing.
Wondering what others think about making the switch.
I haven't decided yet. I won't until after Christmas but I have two upgrades available on my lines so odds are I'll be picking one up. My charge is running great with infinity though so I'm in no rush.

I never understood why people would pay full price for a smartphone regardless of how cool the new technology is. You can buy a pretty nice laptop/desktop or tablet for that price so if your current phone does everything you want, why not wait until you are eligible for an upgrade?
I have a hard time paying the $200-300 for a new phone as part of an upgrade, nevermind $600-700.
That being said, I like everything about the Nexus EXCEPT the fact that you can't expand the memory.

The only reason i would pay full for the nexus is if i was making serious money with apps and wanted to make sure they were compatible with ICS and 720p.

Point well taken. That is part of the decision. I might want to buy a tablet for that kind of money. Even if I could sell my Charge on eBay for say, ~$200 would the Nexus be that much cooler than the Charge? Probably not.
We drool for a long time in anticipation of these new devices but when the day comes and the "buy" button is clicked, it is all downhill from there...
I considered it but then thought about what I'd actually be gaining as far as everyday use. Yes, it's more powerful than the charge but not head and shoulders above the latest and greatest. The hardware is just nothing out of this world special. ICS is about all it really has going for it and soon all new phones will have it. Now that most of the kinks with my Charge have been smoothed out I don't see the need to upgrade for a while. I understand the impulse to always get the newest tech though. The thing with Android handsets is that you really don't have to wait around very long for another new and cool phone to come out. Which is a double edged sword because it means your new and cool phone won't be considered new and cool for long. However, it is easy to pick up used android phones a few months after release for fairly cheap. I see multiple Craigslist ads in my area for Charges for $200-$300. I paid $299 when I upgraded! To each his own but I'm waiting.
I'm certainly gonna wait until these phones are out in "the wild" on Verizon's network. I'm not totally convinced that Samsung has the LTE thing figured out. I bought my charge the day they came out and have never been completely happy with call quality or data connectivity. I live smack in the center of a huge 4g area in Los Angeles and everyone on 3G phones are happy as larks.
I'm done being an early adopter and beta tester for Samsung so I'll wait a month or so and read their forums and see who's complaining about what.
Let's see. it's bigger, heavier and slower than my rooted Charge. I don't think so...

I was sooo excited about a Nexus device coming to Vzn and so let down when I saw someone point out that it didn't have a microSD slot.
This is supposed to show off what an Android Phone "Should Be", but no Android phone should be without a microSD card.
The internal MMC better be MUCH faster than a class 10 microSD. I'm going to wait to see some stats on read/write performance.

Look at it from Google's perspective. They want you to use their cloud services, and most of what the average user does with their phone can be done from the cloud. By not including an SD card or mass storage drivers, they can force people to use their cloud services. From Google's perspective, this does show off what an Android phone should be.
I use Google's cloud services extensively, and I still don't agree with the decision, but as a businessman, I understand it.

It's 7g heavier, and the dimensions are of a negligible difference (<6mm difference in any direction) and it's most certainly not slower either. I'd suggest trolling somewhere else.
I won't be getting a nexus... the combination of having no upgrade yet and me losing interest in it with all the hype and bungled release has led me to the decision to stick with my Charge for now
I'd rather just wait and take my pick of the next Q1/Q2 Samsung or HTC superphones (which I believe will match or beat the nexus spec-wise, the only thing I'll miss will be the unbloated pure Google goodness)

I'm jumping from my Charge to the Nexus. I got my Charge through the Fascinate issue so I didn't have to use my upgrade. I ordered it yesterday online. I had some corporate discount so it was $250 minus a $100 gift card I had. So I got it for $172. Plus I figure I can sell my Charge for $200, so I came out ahead. I went to the VZW store and played with it. Everything is fast and smooth! Can't wait for it!
Ill be going to the nexus, but only because I happen to need a home phone line. So im getting the $149 AmazonWireless deal, with $100 Amazon gift card for activating with a hotspot, a cost ill cover by selling my Charge - then ill just roll the line over into a Home Phone connect.
I ordered my Nexus this morning. My Charge will be my backup.

I currently have an Infuse 4G and after having a phone with 4.5" display I dont think I could ever have another phone with smaller display. I'm not in an LTE are but frequently travel to multiple LTE areas in Texas. I have my money saved up for the Galaxy Nexus Unlocked but I'm really almost tired of waiting. I've kinda been looking at these forums off and on waiting to see if this phone is gonna get any love cause I really like the "idea" of it. You guys think it will get its own forums and any dev work soon. Cause the Galaxy Nexus ship might just be sinking for me...
Tired of waiting on Google/Samsung's Failed Launch...
New phones are like my crack I just gotta have em.
I doubt AT&T will subsidize the galaxy nexus. What is likely to happen is google will sell it to you unsubsidized and AT&T will let you use it on their network. The nexus line has never been available on a carrier at launch until verizon.
Yeah I know that, I dont have an available upgrade right now anyway I had planned on purchasing the Nexus outright, and would do the same for the skyrocket if I decided to go that route i'm trying to get a feel for the phone is there gonna be any love from xda in the way of some forums and any devs coming this way is what I want to know.

Hit up BESTBUY i bought the Skyrocket full price on the (BUYBACK PROGRAM) if the Galaxy Nexus or Note drop within 6 months i can take it back and get 50% of what i paid for the phone back and apply that to the next phone. so ina sence your still only paying FULL price for 2 phones.....
a win win in my book becuase i will be getting either one of those when they drop.

Or you could upgrade to an iphone 4s and use it for a little while because they have a good resale value and won't be outdated in at least a year.
But consider these cons about the nexus:
No microsd
Old GPU/not cutting-edge CPU
Thick
Only 5MP
Will be even more outdated by the time it comes out

I was in the exact same boat and ultimately pulled the trigger on the Skyrocket. My rationale at the end was that the only tangible improvements out there for this phone would be screen resolution and form factor. Other than that, its pretty future proof and should hold value well if I want to resale.
Absolutely love it so far.

I'm really tempted to go ahead and get this. I really like having an sd card slot on my phones and the lack of gorilla glass on the nexus is kinda scary also. Not to mention that it steps down to a 5mp camera. However the development for the nexus is going to be nice and the vanilla andriod. I'd pull my hair out if I had any....
There will be some development for this and a lot for the Nexus. Nexus accessories started popping up at Verizon Stores so that may be a sign of things to come as far as the unlocked version as well.
Sorry, what I meant to say earlier is that when the nexus comes out unsubsidized a good option would be to buy an iphone 4s subsidized and sell it on ebay to get the nexus for a subsidized price. The vanilla ICS and developer compatibility of a nexus trumps all its cons IMO, but I couldn't wait any longer.
I am very glad to hear that many many others are in the same boat as myself. I have done my research, and on pg 138 of the usermanual for the skyrocket it says that the phone does have NFC, but it will be activated at a later time... maybe for ICS and Android Beam?
I am coming from a Nexus S, on ATT when it was free at Best Buy about 3 months ago... and I am lucky enough to have a wonderful girlfriend that will give me her upgrade and let her have my Nexus S.
I think I am going to take the plung with some of you today and buy a Skyrocket, though I am near DC... I'm not sure if I'll get good LTE.

There are several reasons not to go with the galaxy nexus. It doesn't have the true Super AMOLED screen that the gs2 has, so the screen will be duller. The screen doesn't have gorilla glass, so it will be more likely to break or shatter. The larger screen may be nice if you like it, but it means lower resolution. Plus, the real advantage of it, ICS, is close to irrelevant if you have cyanogenmod on your phone.

Or instead of external sd card, you could get a box account or some sort of a cloud account. i put all my pictures, tweaks, kernels, modems, apks, themes the only thing i have a problem with is actual ROMs because there to big at times.
but thats 50 gig of free space i can access from ANY phone.....
So i'm trying to decide on a new phone. i have an upgrade available on my main line. I don't want to shell out $200-300 for a new phone, but Verizon has CPO (basically refurbished) Droid Charges listed at $50. My current Eros is a refurb and is better than the original i originally received. Anyone else tried a CPO Charge and if so what was your experience?

I think a lot of people here got CLNR (certified like new replacements, refurbs basically) Charges in the Fascinate swap fiasco... speaking for myself yes it has worked flawlessly aside from the data dropping occasionally (and annoyingly) which has been pretty much fixed with EP3H build and higher radios, it always flashes correctly, never borked it doing anything, and the screen looks as great as when I first got it
so yeah if you're looking for a nice 4G phone (that I would say needed heavy tweaking to work right on Froyo, but the new GB OTA seems to be pretty solid) and don't wanna wait for the Nexus or shell out for a newer model if you can get a Charge for $50 its a steal

I love my Charge. It seems pretty unpopular with the phone community, but I don't quite see why. The screen alone makes it worth having. Little features like the HDMI out and from facing camera make it a great phone.
I will admit, stock Froyo was TERRIBLE! Don't get a Charge unless you are going to install a custom ROM with lagfix. But when overclocked the Charge is a beast!
Since you're looking for VALUE, I'd say $50 for a Charge would be an awesome deal. Just know getting into it, that we don't have a huge dev community. Also, a lot of our current devs are leaving (imoseyon changed jobs and is losing his Charge and imnuts has only pledged support for the Charge for the next few months, since he is getting a Nexus).
Check Amazonwireless.com where Charges are free for new lines, maybe even existing lines as well.
I seriously don't know why people would buy anywhere else. The new Nexus will probably be cheaper there as well. Eventually you will be able to get a free Galaxy Nexus there.
When Charges were 300 bucks each, I got mine for $150 each (they were $200 on Amazonwireless, but then they dropped them to $150 a week later, I called and they honored their new price for me.)

People don't buy elsewhere for many reasons, one of them is the fine print. Should you cancel your plan, you have a double ETF. Also, some VZW corporate stores will not help you if there is an issue and you didn't buy the device from them. The biggest reason I wouldn't buy it from Amazon or many other 3rd parties is the added ETF, and the odds of them screwing up my account are much higher, like changing my insurance or data plan.

Fun little secret: Most of the CLNR Charges sent out in the Fascinate swap were new retail packages with a CLNR sticker pasted over the original.

YUP, this is what i got
And as soon as I booted, it installed GSB. For $50, i couldn't pass it up.
My wife has been due for an upgrade for a while now and we are looking at getting the Droid Charge since it is only $10 right now through Verizon. We don't have an ISP at home so we rely on tether, but now that we've had a taste of 4G, the 3G tether on her Motorola Droid is driving her crazy. I'd really prefer a phone that has a stable release of CM, how is it on the Charge? Other than tether for the laptop, the only main things she does on the phone is text, email, and Facebook. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks!
Well the charge really is a nice phone. The worst aspect is the dev community, but it is a very solid phone. We do have stable CM9, but no data (for now). It really depends on the money, though. If I had the money I would go for a razr maxx > galaxy nexus > razr though

Thanks for the quick reply. I came from the LG Revolution; you're dev community looks great in comparison!
If I had the money I would probably get her a Galaxy Nexus. I'm loving mine and the dev community is amazing. But alas, I don't have the money. If the Charge is a good phone that can tether reliably and that will last a couple of years I think I'll get it. I don't foresee any better phone being close to free in the near future.
The Thunderbolt has CM7, but the Charge is likely the only device to get AOSP/CM ICS anytime soon. I feel like you should get semi-reliable tethering on the stock/custom ROM. I think it is probably the best single-core LTE phone available.
If I were you I'd try picking one up off of ebay and save your upgrade for a newer phone (maybe GS3?) I picked up the Charge on ebay for $150 and still have my upgrade for later. You can get the Bionic for around $150 as well on ebay.

The only downside I see to buying a Charge right now is that it is 7 months old, and there is a decent chance it won't see another major update. Otherwise, I still think it's a great LTE device, and setup properly, should work pretty well for a while.
You mean 10 months old

These types of threads are really weird to me. How can you afford pricey Verizon service if you can't afford a decent phone for it? Deals come around on the Galaxy Nexus pretty regularly.
I like the Charge, but I wouldn't re-up a contract for one. Spend your subsidy flipping an iPhone 4S or a Galaxy Nexus for cash.

It's simple. We have a monthly budget that we adhere to. Included in that is all our normal expenses including our phone bill. We don't budget for a new phone since it happens once every two years. So when it does come time to buy a new phone, we either get one that is free (or $10), or we have to take it out of another budget or savings. Since my wife mainly uses her phone for facebook and tethering, it doesn't matter to her to have the latest and greatest, as long as it works. She'd still be content with her OG Droid if it had 4G.
Flipping an iPhone is an interesting idea. I can get the 16GB for $200, sell it on eBay for about $550, buy a Charge for $200, and pocket $150. But with with varying prices, tax, and shipping I could end up with less than $100. Not sure it's worth the hassle. We went to Verizon last night and she is in love with the Charge. She even liked it better than the Bionic and Razr, mainly due to the screen and physical buttons.
Thanks for letting me talk it out guys, you've been a great help. It looks like I'll be around your forums a lot more soon!
The price of the phone pales in comparison to the ~$2000 you pay over the life of the contract. Why would you skimp on the phone? Just get a GNex.

The "skimp" is what I was trying to figure out. While I love my Gnex I don't really see how it would benefit her Facebooking and tethering. But if you have any insight into why it would be worth the extra $290 (right now) I'm all ears.
About the "~$2000" price we pay, that's over the course of two years. We pay $70 a month for her phone, so paying $360 (Gnex+plan) one month is a HUGE increase.

Charge-TwStock 1.4 / Bought this app!
I have been using the charge for about 6 months now. I will say that out of the box it is very bloated and a bit laggy. I have tried a lot of the custom roms available and none sufficed until I started using Tweakstock 1.4 with Imnuts Peanut Butta Jelly Time kernel (I believe the TS dev even has a CWM package bundled with PBJ). The phone is silky smooth with this setup overclocked at 1200 mhz, smartass v2 governor, and deadline io scheduler. The only tethering app I've been able to get working with this setup is Barnacle Wifi Tether. It is free in the market. I was very disappointed with the phone until I discovered this setup, so maybe this post will save you some frustration.
Dev JT is currently working on an ICS build. I have flashed some of the test builds and am looking forward to the finished product. There is hope for this phone!

Actually I recommend the LG Spectrum. No real dev support yet, but it's kind of a monster with a 4.5" non-pentile 720p LCD screen, dual-core A9, etc. Also has unlocked bootloader so presumably someone will dev for it.
I would recommend that if you are a technology guy who likes to flash and play with the phone, then yes the Charge is good, but if for your wife a Droid rarz Maxx (20hrs battery life), or a LG Spectrum would be more suitable.

I take that back... I just switched to the latest Eclipse ROM v1.4 with the same kernel and oc settings. It is just as smooth with better theming.

Get the Charge
Based on your post, I would definitely say get the Charge. I also recommend rooting it and flashing Eclipse Rom on it. It is so much faster than stock, looks very much like ICS and much smoother than stock. I have also read Tweetstock and Infinity are excellent Roms as well (never tried them personally) so you cannot go wrong with either one of those if she does not like Eclipse.
For $10, you cannot go wrong with the Charge. There are not as many developers as the Nexus, but the ones supporting this phone are outstanding. Plus as others mentioned, the community is close to getting a working version of ICS for the Charge.
I say grab the charge
I will agree that the dev community for this phone is incredible. When I was first getting into flashing with the Charge I f**ked it up several times (im quite impatient and rush into things ) and was always able to get back to stock to try again thanks to help from so many others in the forums.
I'm using the latest InfinityRom with a couple other addons and my phone has been lightning fast, and personally i still think it kicks the crap out of any of my friends phones. I say grab it, can't beat 10 bucks!
If you are like me and don't like threads saying bye to the sub-forum because the user is changing devices feel free to skip the whole rest of this. I usually don't like those threads either.
However, with tongue firmly planted in cheek:
I'm ditching this Droid Charge because:
It didn't wash the windows
It didn't bring about world peace (yes that comes after washing the windows. I likes some clean windows, I do.)
It didn't feed the hungry or clothe the nekked...and man some of those ugly people need some clothes! Why won't this phone stop the insanity?
It didn't provide notifications while the sender was typing the message or before. Really, I would have rather had the notification before the sender woke up that day.
The voices in the phone kept talking to me and I didn't like what they had to say. "If you would like to make a call..."
I couldn't find the Any Key. Hell, I couldn't find any keys period. There were a couple of buttons, but no keys. How the hell am I supposed to open locks without any key?
The battery wouldn't charge itself. I mean, come one. Why is this too much to ask? I just want a phone that absorbs energy from the room...preferably from iPhones. I'd love it if my friend's iPhones batteries would die even faster when my phone was in the room. The OEM developers really dropped the ball on this one.
All kidding aside: This Droid Charge hasn't been stable since I got it. It was 10x better than the Fascinate garbage I came from. I've loaded ROM after ROM and some work better than others. All of them are better than the stock experience and the XDA / RootzWiki developers have my thanks for their help and time. I've had stability problems from day one and even once I'd get them ironed out stability problems would come back regardless of kernel. I've reloaded the PIT and stock ROMS plenty of times. I haven't overclocked or undervolted and this thing acts like I'm running an aggressive scheme.
So, I'm jumping ship to the Droid Razr Maxx. It will be here on Tuesday. Maybe I can sell this thing on eBay for a few bucks with the docks and extra batteries. I didn't want a Motorola phone, but I haven't been impressed with the chances I've given Samsung, so time to try something new. I'm glad that the Droid Razr Maxx has the Super AMOLED screen.
So long and thanks for all the fish.
I envy you....i will wait one year with the phone before i start harrassing vzw for an early upgrade.
Droid Charge 4G LTE
I've been looking myself as well for an upgrade too but my official upgrade doesn't come for another year. My line isn't the "master line" in the family plan that my line is part of. Also, I think we got the family plan after they stopped offering early upgrades for the "master line."
So that means I do one of the following...
Hit up eBay and see if I can get a phone there at a decent price. I'm hoping I can snag a Galaxy Nexus but some of the prices for those phones are going ridiculously high.
Save up and buy the phone at full price.

I had to sat good bye also. Didnt have an upgrade so paid retail for 2 razr maxx. It has been the best phone to date for me atleast. Stock or Rooted it is a great phone and havent had a complaint. By the way I have 2 charges for sale with extras if anyone interested.
Congrats on being able to switch. We all should expect/own a phone that works. For some, the Charge fits the bill. Unfortunately, for others, the Charge is plagued by many flaws.
Personally, I'm waiting for CTIA(and whenever Samsung's event is) to see what's available for Verizon. I have an early upgrade available, but I'll wait it out.

Well everyone that said that their gps worked for them no problem it never worked for use. It took forever. When my wife travels she takes enough stuff with her and needed something that worked. With the maxx we got everything we needed. A phone that locked on within 30 seconds, battery life that is incredible. Most everything we needed was there. People will say buy used. With new we get a warranty and the assurion protection. These can be used for a write off as a business expense.
Scored a Samsung Galaxy Nexus for $400 on Craigslist. I already verified the ESN with Verizon and they say that the ESN is clean. In an hour or so I'm going to be going with a friend of mine to go pick the phone up in a Verizon Retail Store to have the phone checked out by a Verizon store representative as well as activate it on my account.
It has been a nice ride with the Droid Charge but it is time to move on and getting a Galaxy Nexus for $400 is like a dream come true. It is a steal of a deal.
We will definitely miss you... you've been 1 of the better ones around here for a long time.... you have helped more people than I can count... enjoy your new phone you deserve it...

I'll stay around here helping people with this phone. I'm not going to take down my one Android site with all of the helpful info on it, that would be a great disservice to the community. I'm going to be keeping the Droid Charge for tinkering and whatnot.

I wouldn't buy moto personally, others seem to like it and from the looks of it it's really smooth. After playing with my moms droid 4, it seems blur makes everything difficult and things aren't as easy to set\ find things (probably been on touchwiz too long and need to explore others). My sister likes her droid 3 and my mom loves hers D4, I hope you will too with the MAXX. Good luck, enjoy that awesome machine!
By the looks of how technolgy for android is acknowledging upgrading our batterys to high mah batterys it seems more of these companys will follow motos lead. Especially since 4g practically destroys these batterys. By the time I have a upgrade devices with quad core and better batterys should be available. Kinda worth the wait.

I gave up on my G2x. Not going to wait for fully functioning ICS or even JB anymore. Even if we get it blue tooth will still be messed up.I'm Selling my P999 on EBAY. Never looking back. Until then I’m rocking a Dell Venue Pro and I'm liking the Windows Phone 7.5 , however I have to go back to Android though because WP7 is sooo limited and boring. Thinking about the L9. Not going to get a Nexus 4 because you cant replace the battery...no SDcard slot... and super crappy battery life. No Thanks.
Any of you guys getting a T-Mobile Optimus l9? What's your take on it?
Probably picking up a GS3 tomorrow. L9 is just another LG pile of failure. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.

I was thinking about the S3 but I decided I don't want town any phone with an Amoled display. The screens don't last long. That's exactly why HTC stopped making phones with Amoled. I'll stick to the longer more durable proven IPS displays. Samsung's answer is to make a Pentile RGBG display to offset the loss in colors over time and that's the best they can do right now. Amoled technology just isn't there yet. I'll wait until they can get all of the colors to be at least at 50,000 hours of operation until then Amoled is a no go.

All I ever wanted was ICS at least. Gingerbread sucks. At least the l9 gets 4.0.4. Hopefully at least one upgrade down the road to 4.1.1.

Just sold one of my g2xs and now have a rooted HTC one s with jb 4.1.1 ROM. I like the g2x, never had any of the problems others had, and I prefer the gb UI to the jb UI. Also the voice search worked a lot better on the g2x, and the g2x is smaller. But I give up on the g2x ever getting jb, even though it's basically capable, and the upgrade to jb makes for a tremendous improvement in user satisfaction as related to speed and smoothness. LG has effectively cheated is out of a year more of use of our g2xs unless we are willing to put up with the maddening stuttering of the pre-jb Android, which comes off as a kluge compared to jb.
But beyond the improvement in speed and smoothness, every iteration of Android since gb has been a step downward in usability. The Android UI is now a make-work project for designers at Google and while it might look better, it's become harder and less intuitive to use. Leave well alone, for goodness' sake.
The One s is about as big a phone as is comfortable for me, and much thinner and lighter than the g2x. It looks like a skinny adolescent Nexus One. I had to take some shears to my SIM card, and it doesn't have an interchangeable battery or SD card, don't care about the battery but would like to have a SD card. The One s was about $100 less than a Nexus 4, and was available now. Haven't seen any problems with the AOKP jb ROM.
The speed of this phone plus the accessibility of TMO's 41Mbps HSPA+ network makes differences in browser speed very noticeable. That plus the impossibility of seeing bookmarks in list form in the jb browser means I'm now using Dolphin and Maxthon. The bookmarks thing is another fail of Google trying for what it thinks is good design. The apps drawer also now swipes sideways, what for?, and the launcher functionality in general. Including the handling of apps and widgets, has become very awkward. Thank goodness for nova and launcher pro.
I reckon it'll be a lot harder to get reliable updates for my rooted one s than for the Nexus 4 but the speed of the one s with 4.1.1 is very satisfying and the UI changes Google is now making are making the experience worse. So I have no incentive to update beyond my jb version, so no incentive to get a Nexus 4.
End of rant.

Well I guess Google can't please everyone. Personally, I dislike GB and everything before it. JB is such a huge improvement that I prefer the broken JB ROMs to the fully functional GB ROMs.
I have found nothing unintuitive about the operating system so far. I've always been able to figure out how to do something by just doing what makes sense to me. I'm not a big user of bookmarks, mostly because nowadays the predictive URL history is good enough to make opening bookmarks slower than just typing a few letters into the URL bar and pressing enter. However, I don't mean to say they're completely useless; I just don't use them. In any case, Android was made in such a way that you have access to different browsers and can integrate them as if they're the native browser, so that problem has a solution. With the app drawer, sideways is much more consistent. You only ever access the app drawer from the home screen, which scrolls sideways, so it only makes sense to not make the user have to start scrolling a different way.
I don't intend for this post to say, "your opinion is wrong!" so don't take it that way. I just wanted to point out it's kind of unfair to hate on Google and call it their fault just because you don't like something. JB has been called the best thing to happen to Android by almost everyone I've talked to about it, so I think it's safe to say it's just personal preference that you don't like it.
To each his own
Nexus 4 would've been the way to go. Battery is lasting just as long as it was with my G2x... Around 15 - 16 hours with decent usage. (Lots of Facebook, XDA, browsing with Chrome, some Instagram, and 200+ sms messages.)

In mint condition. No scratches or blemishes what so ever, and to me that is amazing since its been a love and hate relationship with it. I felt like I wanted to throw it somtimes, lol! I dislike Gingerbread, but for other people its fine. I just want a phone with ICS fully working at least. I'm eyeing that L9. I was thinking about the Nexus 4 but too many people complaining about battery life. The L9's battery lasts all day with heavy use. The lack of an SD slot on the Nexus 4 doesn't help in its favor either.
Don't get me wrong, in some ways I'll miss my G2x. Sadly it's a good phone that LG left behind without an ICS update. It's a constant reminder that I'd like to forget.

Stay away from AMOLED phones. Why buy a phone with a display that will decay over time? LCD technology is well proven and mature, no screen decay and burn in. The color blue on an AMOLED display still suffers from the fastest decay. 12,000 hours or so. I say F-That! AMOLED is just not ready for consumer use yet. I shudder to think of anyone getting a AMOLED TV as well. If you want somthing that lasts stay LCD/IPS in a phone. Stay away from AMOLED devices right now.
