[Q] Force media to play over plugged headset? - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

Hey guys,
I bought a particular bluetooth control. It's little clip looking like an iPod shuffle. It's this here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300590078906#ht_3349wt_1396
I only want to use the hardware buttons (Play/Pause, next/last title and volume up/down), but as I connect my smartphone via bluetooth, my device recognizes the bluetooth controller as an headset and all the music goes over the plug on the controller. That wouldn't be that bad, if the audio plug of the controller wouldn't be so crappy.
Now I am searching for a way to make my smartphone allways play media over the audio plug on the hardware itself and NOT over bluetooth accessory. Do you know an app or something where I can control this?
I can't find any bluetooth settings for this. :/
My device is a "Sony Ericsson Xperia Play" (R800i), Android 2.3.7 (CyanogenMod-7.2.0)
Best regards,
AltFFear

no solution for me?

bluetooth remote for the phone?

hi guys.. this isn't fpecificaly for the SGS but i dont know where to post it.
Does anyone know if a remote for the android phone exists that works like this:
the remote should have buttons to control the music( play/resume, stop, next, volume etc...) and have call buttons( but not necesery).
I would use it in my car and when i listen to music and my phone is in my pocket
im not interested in a bluetooth headset
if anyone can tell me a remote like this, i would apreciate it
Why dont you use a A2DP Bluetooth clip ?? How are you going to connect your phone to the car audio system ? You cant simply connect through the auxiliary input and receive calls at the same time. There is a bug in Galaxy S preventing redirecting calls to over a standard 3.5mm cable. You need one with a built in mic. Thats why its better to use a BT clip type headset.
Or you can use something like this : Sony Ericsson LiveView™

[Q] MW600 (A2DP) headset for music on Samsung S2

I am a new owner of a Samsung Galaxy S2 and cannot find a way to get my Sony Ericsson MW600 (fully A2DP compliant) BT stereo headset to work with the music player. All other system sounds, telephone, voice commands etc are working fine on the MW600. Even the BT to my car is fine. The Bluetooth settings menu says that the MW600 is "Connected to phone audio". Under profiles for the MW600 pairing it does say Phone: "Connected to phone audio" and also Media: "Use for media audio".
The whole point of the MW600 is for hearing quality music playback, but for all BT setting I tried, the music just comes through the phone speaker, and not through the MW600. Probably I have overlooked a setting or special condition? Any ideas?
Thanks.
JM
I'm soon to be an owner of a Samsung Galaxy S2 also, I'm really hoping that my MW600 is compatible too.
On my desire, the controls and audio were fine. Sadly the track display wasn't.
I'm going to do some SGS2 A2DP research and I'll post anything if I find any relevant reads.
I'm interested in getting a MW600 too, so i'll bump this up one time...
For Anyone Interested I have A2DP working perfectly with my Samsung Galaxy S2 and Sony Ericsson MW600 bluetooth headset.
Pairing driven by phone works perfectly and track titles also show up on the MW600's OLED screen.
Also works flawlessly with most Samsung based ROMs.
Waiting For A2DP to work on AOSP based ROMs..
Try these:
1. Go to settings > wireless and network > Bluetooth
2. Turn on bluetooth if it's not on yet.
3. Pair to MW600 if it's not paired yet
4. Connected or not, long-press the MW600 from the bluetooth devices list
5. You should see these options:
Paired and not connected:
Connect
Unpair
Options
Paired and connected:
Disconnect
Disconnect and Unpair
Options
6. Select options
7. You should see three checkboxes with 3 items:
Connect (checked if your connected to the headphones)
Phone (Checked if you are connected to the headphones' call functions)
Media (Checked if you are connected to the phones' audio streming and remote controle profile)
7. Check the one appropriate
You can also use this to say for example pair the music function to a car stereo and pair the phone function to an in-ear BT headset.
Hope that helps. Hit the thanks button please
I cant even find my mw600 with my SGS2. Is there any setting i need to change? I already tick visible, but still i cannot find it. Please help me.
P/S: what is a2dp? Sorry i'm a newcomer.

Make sure your headphones is in pairing mode do that it is discoverable. To enter pairing mode, hold down the power button for a bit longer when powering up your headset.. about 5 seconds is enough.. You'll know you've entered pairing mode when you see an icon with two arrows circling reach other..
A2dp is the bluetooth profile for transferring audio via bluetooth.. if your bluetooth device supports a2dp.. that simply means it can stream audio.. Bluetooth mice and keyboard for example are devices with hid(human interaction device I think or is it input? I forgot) and can therefore control devices that support hid, like laptops and android devices running froyo, gingerbread or honeycomb..

MW600 (A2DP) headset for music on Samsung S2
On any Android device, under bluetooth settings, you can see list of devices paired.
I also had the same problem, MW600 getting connected as phone device and not media device. If you want to get this fixed, all you have to do is press play and phone button both together same time for 5 seconds. You would be then able to see the MW600 device getting connected to phone and media device.
This worked for me. Hope you guys find this info useful.

Some possibilities...
The phone profile for bluetooth (mono) is different from the music player profile for bluetooth (stereo). It is possible that
the music (A2DP) profile is not working for your rom. Look for A2DP bluetooth support wherever you got the rom from.
You could check if your rom can talk to a bluetooth A2DP (stereo) headphone/headset. Also make sure your car stereo supports A2DP too (it probably does).
Alternatively you could play music using the mono profile
using something like Super BT Mono app which has a free trial.
If you listen to audiobooks/podcasts this might be ok. I know
this works for Froyo, not sure for honeycomb.

I doubt if this will work. Probably needs a driver for the Android
which does not exist.

[Q] Music Remote Control to use in car

Hello,
I am looking for a music remote control to use while driving, so I don't have to reach for my phone to change music track.
Right now I am learning toward buying one of these:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-Dog-T...ccessories&hash=item3a72fd0822#ht_5127wt_1270
With these, you are supposed to plug your headphones into that dogtag. My question is, if you don't plug your headphones into the dogtag, but instead plug the headphones into the phone itself, will the music come through the phone itself? If it doesn't then it defeats the purpose//

I'm not entirely sure what you mean, but it sounds like you're missing the point.
You pair that device with your phone, and audio will be sent from your phone to it via bluetooth. You then connect the "dogtag" to your car's head unit's aux-in. You can then control the audio via the buttons on the dogtag.
edit: oh I see what you mean. You want to use the dogtag solely for control and still connect the headunit directly to the phone? I haven't fiddled with BT audio in a long time, so I'm not sure if you can deselect the audio profile and just use control. If not, sound will be routed over bluetooth.
You could look into a headunit with bluetooth support as well.
i have that same headset, which is originally desigend by jabra as BT3030. didn't use it anymore but just checked what you are trying to find out.
1. when the headset is not connected to telephone media you are not able to use the dogtag to control the player.
2. if the dogtatg is connected to telephone media your are able to control the player but the headphone out of the phone is muted.
so it does not work the way u want it to. sry mate
But I'm not exactly sure why you'd want to plug the phone into the car and use the remote by itself.
Plug the remote into the car and it becomes more or less a fixed item.
You'll be able to do everything just the same, except that there's a wire or two connecting to the remote.
You'll be able to leave the phone in your pocket. Depending on the design of that BT player, if it switches on and resumes playback when there is USB power, it'd be pretty much a completely automated solution. Turn the car on, USB power is supplied, it pairs with your phone in your pocket, and playback resumes.

Help USB Audio Headphones via OTG

Hey Guys,
I recently got a new pair of headphones for Christmas. The Sony Wireless Headset 2.0 and it works amazingly with my PS4.
I was wondering if anybody knew how I could pair these headphones up with my Ascend Mate 7. The headphones connect to the ps4 wirelessly via a USB dongle. I have an OTG cable and plugging the dongle into my phone does power on the dongle as the lights come on. However no audio is passed to the headset.
Using the trial version of the following app: USB Audio Player PRO
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.extreamsd.usbaudioplayerpro
Allowed me to listen to music over my headphones but only to audio from this music player. So I know that it is possible to receive sound over the earphones via OTG, but I want to be able to use my headphones for gaming too. So I need to find a way to channel all sound out to the headphones.
Thanks in advance
