Well... it requires root if you haven't previously rooted and installed the android market, but if you unrooted after installing market originally you don't have to reroot, it installs as an update.
okay thanks
i will root after the update next week
Great, thanks!
Are there any differences?
Nothing that I noted off hand.

It's supposed to be faster.... Is it faster? Maybe a little, but not "Holy **** This Market Is Fast" fast.
It seems much faster to me.
Thanks for this. It runs way more faster than before.

Firefox released their newest beta today (11/4)....supposedly 25% faster than the stock browser. It's up for download, but I couldn't get it to open: Says device is incompatible or something like that. I'm running CM6.1 ....anyone else having problems?

The new beta that they released is supposedly 60% smaller than the last release and 25% faster than the stock browser. Check out the article about it: http://phandroid.com/2010/11/04/firefox-4-beta-updated-speed-boosts-push-it-ahead-of-stock-browser/

Ah, that sucks. The thing that keeps me from trying Firefox Mobile (besides it taking up around 17 MB), is that the UI hasn't been optimized for MDPI yet.

OFF TOPIC: I'm wondering if Cricket Wireless is any good in basements using a CDMA Hero; paying about $80 is overkill for me... I WANT MONEY so i can buy other things... =|

2 questions:
1. Does anyone know if there's something new on this (GB? SENSE 2?)
2. Is it the same exact hardware? (does it need to ported?)
Yeah, can this be flashed to our version of the Evo as-is?

I haven't been able to download it yet. You will not want to just flash this to our Evo. Let a developer play with it before you flash.
the video on the link shows Android 2.2 and our old SENSE (1.0 or 1.5)... So nothing new there...

911sniper is a very reputable leak source. There's a leak for the htc bravo (desire) as well, so I'd think it's pretty legit.
Man this site is on fire today huh lol it doesnt look too legit so ill wait on some feedback on this one guys as much as im dreaming on gb on sense lol
There is no doubt in my mind this is a legit leak. Its from the best leak source as wd said, what I'm nervous about is the fact that is says TEST. Even though it's built for the evo, It might not work entirely properly regaurdless.
Think we can get a recovery flashable version?
downloading now i will have it booting in 20

Then I downloaded the latest version of Market app (3.3.11)

(QUESTION: How can I enable the hardware graphics acceleration on my Kindle running CM7?)
Thanks for the market fix. I'm pretty sure hw accel and overclock are not yet ready . If this uses stock kernal I'd say no till a custom one. Anyone with more knowledge then me care to check me in?

there was someone posted in the original post saying that he got the hw acceleration working.

Have you looked at the build.prop thread? This has the necessary entries you will need to put in the CM7 build.prop.
Yes I have, but I couldn't find anything related to hardware acceleration
I'm the guy from the original thread. Add this line:
debug.sf.hw=1
To your build.prop and reboot.
BTW, thanks a lot for the link to the APK. Working flawless for me now.

Do you have a rough eta on ICS?
I would provide one if I could get it to boot successfully. Getting a booting build is like 80% of roming. The rest is just tinkering. I have no eta on a booting build so no eta for ics :'(

Hey Calvin, just out of my curiosity, have you figured out what might be the reason for the non-functional audio?
Too bad the original cm7 thread was closed but it was full of junk comments, i hope it doesn't discourage calvin and we keep getting more of his awesome job

Hey, Just had a quick question. Should CM7 have had Market installed when I first put it on my KF? Because mine did not, and I can not get the Market working for the life of me. I have it installed now but every time I try to open it, It prompts me to add a Gmail account. After tapping add account it just closes out to my homescreen. Any ideas?
EDIT: Fixed my problem.

it says nothing on the post about needing ICS for this to work, maybe double check your permissions using the ES file explorer. did you read the ENTIRE thread? also how did you try to get it to work? did you try to launch the widget? i would try to install it myself but i'm at work for another 3 hours and have a business meeting afterwords. re-read the thread maybe something was missed

Well when it's installing it clearly states Google Now for ICS, altho the thread itself doesn't necessarily mention it... followed all the instructions to the T, no Google Now in my apps, and certainly no widget to add either.
This thread appears to confirm requirement of ICS as well: http://forums.androidcentral.com/ve...528-google-now-thunderbolt-flashable-zip.html
