Bad Problem with the Battery
i have the TP and the bettery have a big problem it's ended in about 5 hours with no use.
how can i fix it?
is there any program to increase the use or tweak the settings?
from 5 hours no
change the battery
You have either some app running which consumes a huge amount of power (really huge! Even if you use TP as video player with the screen configured to full brightness TPs battery lasts for at least four to five hours). Or your device has got a faulty battery (which would probably be more likely).
Are you by any chance using Wayfinder Navigator gps-software? I found (the hard way) that this software doesn't close the GPS-unit in the phone automatically when you exit the application. Even after a soft-reset the problem persists. This will drain the battery in pretty much 5 hours. The solution is to manually close the GPS-connection in the WF Navigator program settings every time you exit the app (and hope for a fix ASAP). I've already reported this to Wayfinder, and they're working on it.

I was using a GPS related app the other day and the same thing happened to me. Try and find out what hasn't shut down properly...
10X for all
melcul-i think i will send an email to HTC about that
DeepThought-i checked if there is any programs that running but nothing is running acording to X-buttom 35% memory in use.
aBE-One- i am not using that app.just using QuickGPS and Nav N GO IGO8 and they are close.

what aBE-One is saying is that on his phone he had a similar problem, the software was closed but the GPS command remained active thus draining his battery, so your IGO8 might be shut down as software but there is a chance that the GPS hardware is still running in the background for no reason. go into your com manager and turn off GPS and that should resolve the issue

Exactly the same happened to me, after a full charge it took only 5 hours to an almost complete discharge.
I bought TP 1 week ago and it came with radio 1.02.25.17 with no battery issues at all but with the GPS issue -not finding sats-. After upgrading to 1.02.25.28 radio ROM, the GPS now works ok with TomTom, GPS test etc, but the battery now drains dramatically even in standby with no software running and all radios off except phone.
Is possible that the GPS radio stays on even after closing GPS software? In that case, is there any way to manually switch off the GPS module?. In TTN there's no a button to do this.
Mine too..
But i've observed this drain even before upgrating to radio 1.02.25.28
In 40 minutes from 78% to 69% (9%), in stand-by mode (short press power) without any running application!
And I've done 3 or 4 full discharge-full recharge cicles...
LE: No active moderator here? There are plenty of battery problem topics.. why not merge them? It's hard to chose in which one to post... Also, that's not the only case. See GPS related bugs, opera, etc. Too many duplicate topics.
Ok, more info:
I've drained the battery completely till the device turned off then I've left the phone on charging overnight (device turned off).
After about 9-10 hours I've unpluged and turned on the device. Used for 1 hour and 25 minutes in total (about 1 hour for browsing - not downloading, so data transfer was not continously - and the rest for music). With "Auto adjust backlight". The battery level gone from 100% down to 68%, so 32% battery drain in less than a hour and a half!!!
Now, after 4 minutes (device was in standby - eg: short power button press), I wanted to check something and the battery metter was on 66%... so 2% in standy/idle mode in just 4 minutes?!
@l1234 any updates?

That all sounds correct. I can be typing emails/sms with WiFi and phone on (not actually doing anything), drains about 1% per minute.
I read the other day that the percentage indicator is faulty. Some people have reported the battery draining down to 10% in a very short time, but then the meter will stay at 10% for hours before going down to 9%, etc. Has anyone else noticed this? If not, look for it and see if it happens to you. Also, open the power meter in the settings options and verify that it shows the same battery level. I've had that happen to me already where it would say 50% in the title bar but the power options still show 3/4 of the meter!

I have noticed that the battery percentage indicator does this. All in all, my device has better battery life after flashing a custom ROM, keeping screen brightness under half and leaving off bluetooth or wifi if possible. my battery will stay at 100% for hours, but if i soft reset, it drops 10%. other times it will drop right away but stay there. It really does stay at 10% or so though for ages before it drops further.

I was brosing via 3G/HSPDA connection. No WiFi/BT on.
Now, it seems that the drain in standby time is OK (haven't done something special, same processes opened.. maybe just now the battery can be used at its full performance, after some charges/discharges) - BUT when using the device the battery drains quite quickly..
I give you an example.
Battery was 100%. Browsing the internet with IE & Opera for 1 hour. Battery meter was on 75%. So 25% in one hour... tooo much... The display backlight is set to "Auto adjust".
Again, I'm not using Wifi/BT, push e-mail, etc. Just normal browsing (without downloads) with a 3G/HSPDA connection.
I've had my Fuze about a week and I've been testing out many of the available ROMs. I've noticed disturbing trend and want to know if anyone else is seeing this problem, and if so, how can we fix it? It seems like anytime I install a Raphael based ROM, I start to lose battery power at a fast rate - about 10%/hour, maybe even faster. With a cooked ROM based off the ATT Fuze code base, I do not have this problem. I get this even when I install the keyboard fix, etc. and I am doing a hard reset after install to no avail. Any help, input, thoughts or shared experiences welcome.

I am using PROven's latest 1.4 rom and the battery is amazing!!! I loaded it last night, charged it up around 9pm and at 5pm today I am still at 70%!!!
I've noticed this as well. I first go suspicious when after a long flight in airplane mode the battery drained significantly.
No I am in all day meetings this week so I am trying several combination to see what sucks juice and what does not by keeping the radio out of the equation.
So far it seems that RomeOS is a battery suck while NATF is not. This is with the device doing nothing but sitting there with no radio activity.
I've notice that the stock .32 radio on the fuze is the culprit (at least on MY fuze). After I downgraded to the .28 radio the battery life has easily doubled!
@NRGZ28
Which .28 radio do you mean?
1.02.25.28 - Extract Official Shipped Orange ROM ESN 1.90.75.3??
I'm using ROMeOS with 1.02.25.28 radio and I have pretty good battery life on the Fuze. I've also used some other ROMs here and no issues either in regards to battery. Is your data connection on constantly or is it configured to disconnect after X # of mins?
My Droid 2 Global is currently at 2 day 16 hours of uptime since unplugged, standard battery, moderate usage (some gaming, some phone calls, some syncing, some data connection, regular music listening)... and it still shows 40% of battery life left...
So, how did it all start?
I have followed some of the suggestions from the Battery Life Writeup thread
1. froze most of the bloatware in Titanium Backup (except for the Global apps)
2. set screen birghtness to Auto
3. set the battery profile to Custom
4. wifi and data disabled unless i need it, background data on
5. animation - all off
...
6. finally, i flashed the phone to a local CDMA provider, CDMA mode is set to Home Only, and 3G is off unless I need it.
7. i additionally killed and cleared data of the motorola services via built in android app manager
... but that helped only marginally, as I was getting 1.5 days max under minimal use
Until one day... I charge the phone in the morning, use it heavily throughout the day - music + data + phone calls... and it's dead in 12 hours. (( I actually shut off on me in the evening the same day during the phone call... I kinda got frustrated with this phone, since it wouldn't even last through the day when i needed it ....
... so I plugged it in while it was turned off, it charged fully, i unplugged the phone and turned it off before going to bed, now let the WTF begin :
WTF#1: So, I pick the phone up in the morning and it's still @ 100% after like 10 hours of standby (needless to say it usually loses 30% of battery overnight). I am like ok.... must be a batter meter lag.
WTF#2: I use the phone normally for the entire day - phone calls, music player + scrobbling via data connection, some syncing.. and by the end of the day the battery is @ 90%
WTF#3: I pick up the phone next morning after 1.5 day of use and it shows 80% of battery left At this point i start thinking the battery meter is screwed up on me and it will just shut off while @ 70% or something... but that wasn't meant to be.. I seriously start trying to get it discharged - playing games + wifi + syncing + putting in a sim card + checking mail + browsing... and by the end of the day it's only @60%
WTF#3 So, again next morning i pick it up and it's @ 40% of battery. and I have no clue how the hell this happened. right now its approaching 3 full days (2 days, 18 hours) of heavy - moderate use and the battery still shows 40% left.
Any ideas how this could happen? I will try to reproduce it once it finally discharges by letting the battery die completely and charging it while it's turned off. Anyway... your thoughts?
i got similar usage when i wasnt connected to a network i.e. data and wifi was off. i got a full 3 and a half days with minimal usage, turning wifi on when i needed it. with wifi and data on at all times i get about a day and a half of usage.
Plz let us know the outcome
I'm also struggling with batt. life
Sometimes I have to use three batteries per day
(I have many spare batteries just in case I have heavy usage)
It would be great to have three days of battery life!
Sent from my DROID2 GLOBAL using XDA App
Not sure how you managed the couple days of battery life, but that 100% after 10+ hrs without using the phone is pretty doable. Once you remove the bloatware that is. I can consistently let the phone sit for 10-12hrs and it will at most lose 10% battery life.
If you use your SMARTphone as it was designed, there is no way to get that batt life. If you use it like an old dinosaur nokia(phone calls and texts only no data) then sure, that is possible.

Hi guys, just stopping by to update that since my original post I went through a couple of charge-discharge cycles, always getting 2-3 days of battery life, depending on my usage.
So, as you see, it's possible to get this kind of battery life if using the phone as smartphone cause well.. that's what's happening to mine
I will add the additional details I omitted in my original post:
------------------------------------------------------------------
1. set your default launcher to LauncherPro
2. follow the steps in the Battery Life Writeup thread if you haven't yet
3. turn off wifi and data unless you are using it
4. clear your battery stats using Calibrate Battery app
5. discharge your phone completely until it dies (if you have a wall charger)
6. charge it back up while turned off, turn it on once done.
7. force stop & clear data for the following services - (proceed at your own risk lol it didn't break my phone but it might break yours )
- Task Manager (freeze it)
- Bluetooth Share / Bluetooth Dun (if you don't use bluetooth)
- com.motorola.photowidget
- Email Engine (if you don't use email app)
- Home (if you use launcherpro)
- Motorola Services
- Social Messaging Service
- TTS Service (if you don't use tts)
- Voice commands (if you don't use voice commands)
Then, theoretically you should have the same battery life as I do.
Hello guys I'm having a battery leak but i dont know which app/s is draining my battery i go to battery status and i only see
Phone idle 55%
Display 20%
Voice calls 11%
call standby 11%
android os 2%
Flipboard 2%
not sure if these stats help!
... but im sure that some background apps draining it , any idea how to discover the leak and deal with it ? i dont use 2g/3g gprs , Bluetooth or anything like that only wifi and not for a long time I'm running 2.3.4 un-rooted atrix4g with go launcher please help and thanks for your time
Do you use a live wallpaper? Those are sometimes cpu heavy even when hidden.
Hi
Since several weeks my galaxy s6 has been suffering severe battery issues:
- average drain per hour is 10%
- average screen on time is 2h spread on 12h going from 100% -> 0%
Analysis:
- no real app drain
- phone signal is OK/high
- Google now is off but all the rest is on (data/wifi/Bluetooth/location settings...)
- Gsam reports show that my phone never goes into doze mode... It suffers from really bad standby time
I tried a factory reset, battery calibration, package Disabler etcbut nothing helps.
Sometimes when my battery is nearly dead at around 5%, it jumps to 10-20% when plugging in. It seems that something is keeping the phone awake all the time.
Can anyone help? Images from Gsam are attached.

The battery jump is indicative of a dying cell. It might be time to have the battery replaced..

Turn off automatic backup and restore in your device settings, worked for me (if you want to use the restore function just back it up manually). I have read somewhere there is an issue with the google backup transport service in 6.0.1. I don't know if the samsung backup has the same effect, I turned it off, just to be sure. Before I got like -3.8% battery decline per hour and now it's like -0.8% per hour.
Hi, I have E6653 on Build 32.4.A.1.54 7.1.1 Nougat...
I was not able to find any root method for this as in device status it says bootlocker unlock is not allowed.. anyway, I suspect phone while in idle is draining some batter and while it's on too. So is there any kernel for the same stock version which could fix that issue?? I heard the default kernel have battery drain issues as phone idle is taking 23% of battery or so etc while screen 24% and cell standby 11%....
Is this normal then 10% battery drops after 2 hours without using phone ?
I will be thankful. Regards
No, check your installed apps for battery consumption.
Check synchronize time of email accounts etc, make this less synchronize.
Calibrate your battery, give it 2- 3 days to settle again.

Disable Bluetooth when not nessary.
Disable adjustible brightness of screen in settings.
Use greenify or Kaspersky battery saver.
