[Q] Changing the default media player for Bluetooth? - HTC Desire S

When I connect my HTC Desire S to my car's bluetooth, it starts playing music immediately from the default htc media player. However I installed Winamp onto the phone and wish to use that as the default instead. How can I change it to the default?

go to settings-applications-manage applications. find htc music app. clickt it and at the bottom you'll see defaults section, clear that.
next time you open a music file, phone will ask which program, you can select winamp and always use this selection check

I don't see "htc music app"; the closest thing in my list is "HTC Media Uploader" which doesn't seem right. Can anyone tell me the exact name the app should have on the htc Desire S?

Did you press the all tab?
It won't show in the downloaded section because it's a system app. Not sure if you can clear the defaults on a system app. Give it a try!

HTC Audio Manager arranges my songs in album in alphabetical order

Is there a way to change this?
I have many albums on my phone (HTC Touch) and the HTC Audio Manager arranges my songs in album in alphabetical order and not per track number.
The Media Player sorts the track right.
Is there a way to fix this problem?
HTC Audio Manager
The easy way to fix this is to use something else. I have found that with my touch the songs, etc were not able to use touch flo but had to use the slider bar on the side to move up or down on the screen. I have swithed to slide to play which keeps tracks in the proper order, full screen album art, and utilizes full touch screen capabilities.
Now I have the answer. I had a "old" Version of the Audio Manager. With the current version this problem is solved.
Where did you find the new version of audio manager please.
I have exactly the same problem with the touch player of the samsung omnia!
Is there already any solution for that?

HTC Ringtone trimmer app not accessible?

i know the app exist straight out the box but for some reason it does not show up in the app drawer to use it.. when inside "manage applications" its listed but doesnt give you an option to do anything with it..
has anyone been able to use this app?
i use this a bunch to trim mp3s and asign them to my fav contacts.
Ringtone Trimmer
To use the Ringtone trimmer go to the media player or "Music" app. Find the song you want to trim (easiest way is to play then pause it) Menu>Set as Ringtone>Trim the Ringtone. Hope this helps.
Nice.. This helps tremendously. I guess it's not a dedicated app like on other htc devices. I tried snooping around the music app and seen the set as ringtone option but thought that would set the whole song as a ringtone.... Good find. Thanx
does not show up
When I go into the music and select to make it a ringtone, it does not give me the option to trim it. I'm on the aria, is there another way to trim?
I found that some songs let me some don't

I wonder why this happens.
I always delete the ringtone trimmer from every rom. Try using Ringdroid from market, it is free and much more useful.

[Q] Set Default Audio Player (Not the stock player)

I am trying to figure out how to set a default player for Google Reader on my Transformer Infinity (TF700T). I completely reset the app preferences so there no longer any defaults on any apps, but when I try to launch an mp3 from Reader, the system automatically defaults to the system player and doesn't prompt me for any alternatives. The player's not bad, but it's modal so I can't do anything else when the player is in use. I prefer to use an alternate player so I can do other things while I'm listening. I see the same thing occurring when I launch mp3s from the stock web browser.
Any ideas? I've been looking all over the Interwebz and haven't found anything.

Play Google Music When Connected to Bluetooth

When I connect my phone to my cars Bluetooth it automatically starts playing music from Samsungs Music app. The issue is I have Google All Access so none of my music is in that app. Is there a way to have Google Music play by default when connected instead of Samsungs Music app? I checked to see if Samsungs app was set as a default but it wasn't and I can't find any auto play options, I also can't just disable the music app. Oddly enough sometimes it will open Google music and other times it will open Samsung Music even if the last time I was in the car I used Google Music.
Thank You in advance.
In the app section of your main phone settings can you pick the Samsung music app and disable it?

Unfortunately not, it's grayed out for me.
If you use a file manager app and try to play an MP3 or other type of music file, it should ask you which player to open it with. Choose Google Play Music and tap 'Always'. Then it should open GPM when you connect to your Bluetooth device.
If not, there are apps on the Play Store that will automatically launch the music app of your choice when it detects that you have connected to a specific Bluetooth device. I can't recall any specific app names at the moment, sorry.
Another option is to root and disable the Samsung music app with Titanium Backup.

Thanks, I'll give those options a shot.

How to change the mtcd default music player

I am running @da_anton's lightweight ROM and still getting slowdown issues. I noticed once the headunit bogs down, the tuner also starts having trouble. I think part of my problem is I have a large music library on my External SD and the music app seems to rescan it every time it boots. I want to total replace the music app and replace with something very lightweight like Eleven Player, but only if I can completely replace the existing app.
Since I am on da_anton's ROM, I am rooted, and know I can delete the default, but how do I get the replacement player to work as default so it has app priority when I select it? By that I mean if I have the radio on, and select music, the system knows radio sound stops and music app takes control.
+1 for that, I would like to use other version for music player as well, the way it sorts the folders is not good for me, need standard style, like pc folder style, not all folders at same time.
MtcdTools for set a steel button for:
1-next button
2-previous song
3-open the better music app: jetaudio
Hi,
Is there any way to assign third party app to Steering Wheel Controls command MODE so that instead of Radio -> Music -> Video -> AUX cycle thru Radio -> [My Music App] -> [My Video App] -> AUX?
Guys youl can get every other music player to work.
Just install it.
Now change buttons.
With dasaita greaser (even scip music with the round button, or ehith steerling whel is possible)
You can see it on my video.
Please skip to 4:40. And wait. I even show button functions and synchronizing mp3 with phone without pc, just music that's changed rating.
