On Windows, haven't tried yet but running WPConnector.exe and Tom XAP installer should work.
How about Mac? Is it possible? Anyone tried that?

It was not necessary to open a new thread in the development section because of this. This is what the general section is for.
On a side note, it does seem difficult for Mac users to do a lot of Android things, hopefully someone else can help. I'm sure someone out there has done it on a Mac.

Yea, this belongs in General, but let me at least get you in the right direction. attn1's hack kit supports Windows, Linux, and Mac OSX, (instructions are in the archive). Hit the link for the hack kit...

is anyone aware of a root method for mtk devices using linux? ive tried running mtkdroidtools in wine but cant get it to reconise the device.
also tried virtualbox but cant get it to run correctly...is there a way to do it manually ?i dont have accsess to a windows machine..thanks

I am learning how to develop android apps. So to debug, I need a device. I tried Genymotion, but it is not working on my PC. So instead, I set up a virtual device on virtualbox and that is running pretty good, but I don't know how to connect it to Android Studio for debugging and testing purposes. Please help me out.
