HELP! - HTC Inspire 4G

I have a mac and im tired of not being able to find a mac friendly way.. does ANYBODY have a mac version

It was not necessary to open a new thread in the development section because of this. This is what the general section is for.
On a side note, it does seem difficult for Mac users to do a lot of Android things, hopefully someone else can help. I'm sure someone out there has done it on a Mac.

Yea, this belongs in General, but let me at least get you in the right direction. attn1's hack kit supports Windows, Linux, and Mac OSX, (instructions are in the archive). Hit the link for the hack kit...

The best way to root is to use the hack kit because its flawless in execution. And all other methods have a higher chance of failing. So use the ace hack kit and use VM or boot camp to load windows and do it from there. Other wise go to a school or other windows computer and execute.
And please remember to post in the right section from now on. Otherwise it'll be an all out attack.
Just pack up the phone, send it back, and get an iPhone. Or you could start to follow the rules of xda.
I got your 10 char right here
abso Bacon Mod
Thanks and sorry for the rules. I thought this was correct but I didn't know there was a Q and A.

Please close this. There is no room for miscategorization here at XDA forums.
you mean to say that you searched yet you posted in the wrong thread, not to mention the method is the first thing on the first page
Wow! The New Year started out with a bunch of grumpy members picking on the noob. Feel better about yourselves, folks?

Grumpy? no we aren't grumpy, it gets annoying when people either
A. Don't look or search before posting
B. Create a thread in the wrong section (ESPECIALLY the dev section)
This guy did both so hes gonna obviously get flamed by people who get angry about it. Guess you don't know the rules of the forum at all.
OK guys mistakes happen. But OP please search and open threads in the proper place

Linux Question

I did not see a question section so I hope that it is OK that I post this here.
Have been looking through these posts and googled and have not found an answer.
I do not have a windows box to use. I only use Linux and I don't see any way to install CWM or custom ROMs with out Odin. Am I missing the instructions on how to do this from Linux?
Thanks

[Q] Linux Rooting and Unlocking Questions?

Hello Everyone,
I am sure there are a bunch of similar post, but I looked around and found a post on rooting and unlocking. The questions is
Is the linux version up-to-date and is the recovery included up-to-date? I downloaded it last night so it should be current, but I want to make sure.

Which tool, Casual? I have a Windows pc so I can't troubleshoot with you but the existing Windows exploits work and have not been altered in any way so the same goes whichever tool you downloaded.
Thanks just checking.
Not a problem, it should work for firmware:
-VRLF2
-VRLG1
-VRLG7
-VRLHE

[Completed] File storage web service

Hi,
I'm working on a delivery system for CASUAL, an open-source language I came up with to modify android devices. So I need a place where people can store files. I have a web server at casual-dev.com, but I am unable to figure out a suitable service/system which can do the following:
1. a web login/password system
2. user can upload/modify/delete their files
3. an API for remote access.
4. uploaded files are hosted publicly.
I could use some help locating a suitable open-source service and i don't really know where to go to figure out the answer, or let alone word the question so it's more relatable. I'm asking for something very simple.
Sir,
Please wait an answer from our administrative team.
Thanks

Hi Adam,
This section is for helping guide new members on where to find their answer on XDA. I do not think your question is quite so simple as to point you to a thread or forum. Might I suggest you ask in Android Q&A?
Cheers
Kenny

Android Q&A wouldn't be the proper place for a website infrastructure question. I don't know where the proper place would be. This is why I asked here.

We'll have to figure out the place, but nevertheless this isn't the place, thanks. Maybe ping Sv or Mike C.

[Completed] [Q] getting my windows 8.1 laptop to correctly recognise my kindle fire2

Second attempt at getting some help, - perhaps first attempt was waaay too greedy for a noobie.
Lets start simple.
I have a bricked kf2
I now have a factory cable that, when plugged in , does indeed power up the kf2 in fast boot.
The pc acknowledges that a device has been connected, but no disk drive or portable device etc appears in "my computer" [xp speak!]
In device manager, the kf2 reports as "Otter2-prod-04"
Can someone please help me connect it to the pc correctly, in order for some of the utilities to be able to interact with it - ie. more chance of unbricking it
thanks in advance
Andy
Sir,
Please review the purpose of this forum:
The mission of XDA Assist is to provide basic help to those who have tried searching but can't find what they are looking for and need assistance. This is not a "helpdesk" providing technical assistance but more to point you in the correct direction with your problem. Perhaps you can't find posts on how to root your phone, install custom recovery or maybe you have questions about how to navigate and use features on the site.
Our XDA Assist team will give you links to threads/forums that are relevant to your problem. You may be pointed towards guides and instructions that can be quite complex, so you will still need to read carefully and be cautious before attempting to make software changes to your device. It is essential you are in the correct forum for your device model; what works for one can ruin another.
