Synergy RC2+GodMode - General Questions and Answers

Does anyone have access to the .zip file for Synergy RC2+GodMode. The file on my PC is corrupt and all of the websites that claim to have an authentic file are scams. IMO, Synergy RC2+GodMode is one of the best ROMs out there for the HTC EVO 4G and wanted to get it back on my phone, but not having much luck finding the file. I appreciate the help in advance...

here is the link to the thread, RC2 is way outdated, so download RLS1+Godmode

Is there maybe another ROM you would suggest that is as fast and stable?

You really can't go wrong with Synergy ROM... when my EVO 4G was my daily driver, I used Synergy ROM wayy back when it was still in alpha and beta stages... so i do highly reccomend going with synergy ROM
but other than that, just take a look around in the EVO 4G development area.. but here are a few roms that i reccomend
AND MAKE SURE YOU MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP BEFORE YOU FLASH NEW ROMS (you probably already know this, but im just makin sure!)
this is a great rom, although it is still in nightly's so it may still have some bugs in it (but knowing Virus, there probably aren't any).. it gives you sense 3.5 and beats audio too!!! check it out and see if you like it!! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1071547
heres another one I really like, this one will probably have a few more bugs than Virus's rom, but check it out http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1278498
and heres another one that is awesome, mik roms are some of the best, and you wont be let down!! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1038967
here is a clean Evo 3D port, a good one too! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1203761
if you want more suggestions, just let me know!

Thanks for the advice, I really appreciate it. I rooted my EVO from day one last year, but I really have not had a lot of time to explore all the possibilities. Now that work has slowed down for the holidays, I'm in the mood to explore.

no problem!! I loved my EVO 4G, and even though I never use it, I can't bring myself to sell it
Again, if you need any more suggestions or anything else relating to your EVO or android in general, feel free to send me a PM!!! I will get back to you as fast as I can!
Happy flashing!

Atrix to Inspire today. What ROM SO MANY?

I have a atrix and got ATT to send me a free inspire. Long story.
Anyways on Atrix really only 2 ROM Gingerblur and Greyblur. They are both great and about 99% use one of those.
Then there is gingerbreak to root it. Very easy one at that. Then you are pretty much done since you cant over clock it.
Looking at the inspire dev section is crazy next to atrix. The whole first page is all diff rooms.
I can assume the thread with the most post is the best one but could be wrong. Also since i can overclock the inspire might be some diff options.
Here is what I like to do.
1. Root
2. Over clock
3. custom nice stable rom
4. I am somewhat noob as I had blackberry prior to feb atrix so dont want any of the above steps to be so high level i cant figure it out and brick my new phone.
Thanks in advance for the help.
Root (pick one):
Hack Kit by attn1
One Click by bubby323
ROM:
Inspired Ace
Kernel for OCing:
MDJ V Series (gingerbread)
Note, this is all preference-based. You should try out several ROMs and decide for yourself.
Thats about the worst way to decide on a rom, half the people flash roms cause of the name, just try a few. once your rooted, flashing different roms is the easy part. And the kernel is what's gonna make your phone faster and improve battery, not really the rom.
..
I'm having trouble finding a ROM better than RCMix HD. I've tried many others but keep going back to capy and friends.
Plus rumor has it capy is uploading the first working Sense 3.0 rom as I type. Soo excited!
I always end up back on cm7
Sent with the power of a unicorn horn.
I really like cm7 also. At least until I have to take a picture.
Root it, then start playing with different ROMs. Personally I stay away from ROMs that use or have parts of HTC Sense in them. No need to OC the phone it's fast enough.
I've been using CM7 for the last few weeks. I've had good luck with Cognition HD and LeeDrOiD 4G 2.2.
i keep going back to cm7. just root and flash away and see what you do and don't like about the roms out there. just make sure if you flash kernnels to make sure they'll work with whatever you are currently running

I just tried out TPGB-CM20110506 and I'm not digging the theme... restoring CM7 right now.
When I had my EVO I went Senseless (as CM6 didn't work right for it). Basically as pure android as you could get, but you had the Sense dialer and contacts, which I loved. Ever since then, I've been using CM7 on my Mytouch 4g and then my Inspire, but I think I might try a sense based ROM tonight for fun.
Honestly, try CM7, try MIUI (you either love it or hate it, I think it's gorgeous but impractical), then try a sense based rom like inspired or RCMix. You've got all these options and they're all free, so why not try them all? This isn't Apple, or even Moto and their locked bootloader; see what fits YOU best, not what someone SAYS fits you best.
My best advice is to try out a bunch of different roms and find which one you like best. Personally, I prefer CoreDroid roms with Sense. They run smooth, have great optimizations and eye candy, and the development team does an amazing job bringing new things to their roms and fixing bugs fast.
IMO best rom is coredroid v6.0 with the leedroid 3.0.1 kernel
I was using rcmix hd till the new coredroid came out ... I would start with one of those two.
I like the RCMix with evolutionary Sense, great ROM.
i'm all about cm7, but this miui **** is so slick. just started playing with it today.
Take your time with rooting. It was the longest process I've ever experienced with a phone, but worth it. Once you're rooted flashing new rom's is a snap so try them all. I like anything that doesn't have Sense in it. Also, I OC'd for a bit but found it to be pointless because the phone is plenty fast for what I need it to do. Basically, just root and try some stuff. Have fun. Read the instructions of everything. And BACKUP!

Which one is right for you?

So i am familiar with flashing phones somewhat. Used to jailbreak iphones but lost interest since the iphail screen broke and was just a POS in general. Been using a blackjack2 ever since which never failed me till recent.
Big upgrade to the inspire so even ATT Rom would be "WOW" to me. Question is how do i know what rom to flash. Which one is right for me. So many out there.
I am looking to flash the phone and then unlock it but what rom has the least amount of glitches that is running pretty smooth and allows all functions to be used.
Was lurking around for a bit and saw this.

roms are chosen by preference really the only way to find a rom that best suits you is to try them all till you find 1 that you like
now the link that you posted is the rom that i first went with & never looked back try it out & see how you like it
yea from what i have been reading this is confusing and its down to personal preff. Quiet honestly i dont want to keep switching things even though its not that hard.
I was searching and also found that leedroid is praised upon but i think leedroid is just better than stock with the bloatware out plus a few added bonuses vs the link i provided is loaded compared to leedroid.
Not sure on what to do here. I dont mind the battery life staying where its at. An increase would deff be good but its my first nice phone in a while so i want to enjoy it.

I like sense. So I am biased towards sense based roms. But leedroids has been on my phone the longest. I have tried 4 others and of course a stock that I ripped out all the bloat. I keep returning to leedriod. the dudes rom is amazing
Make a rom back up of each and that way you can just return to what you like the most.
Was looking into CM7 as well but seems that its too dumbed down for me. Now im in between coredroid and leedroid...

I have never even tried CM7 - Something just doesnt interest me about it. So Ican;t sway you. But really man, just make a back up of what you have now. Don't like the new one recover. If you like the new one, make a back up of it and try another. Its saves time and you can try em all. I'm a Rom Junkie tho so...Lol
CM7 is very nice I had it for a while and its nice. The problem with CM7 nightly is you will flash alot because they have alot of updates Im currently using MIUI and Im absolutely LOVING IT!!!!! I was using LeeDroid before and it was also AMAZING. I just love how MIUI have alot of themes to go with it and the UI.

Oh Sir let me tell you it is worth it With all the themes and all you will like it. I guarantee it.
More updates meaning it has glitches that need to be resolved?...so what makes sense to me is leedroid is more reliable...

Yes or just updates making it better. Yes to me LeeDroid was my favorite Sense ROM. Like that guy said you can just try every ROM and see which one fits you best.
yea try more than one rom. add some rcmix kingdom in there. sense 3.0 is slick. but its pretty alpha (stable enough im still using v 0.1 daily)
dont matter just use some sense and backup before making changes. if your txts are that important, dont forget to back them up too.
I've got to second this - I haven't used MIUI yet, but LeeDroid is the best rom I've used yet. I've tried CM7 and Android Revolution.
I have been liking this rom a lot:

Would it be worth posting a stock AOSP/gingerbread rom with MIUI extras?

Hi all not sure where exactly this goes, but I've modified parts of roms I took some from faux, some from cm7, some from eagleblood and am using it as a daily rom. I also added the new MIUI music/MIUI camera (I'm currenty trying to get the ffc to work), as well as miui weather.
Everything is working super fast and smooth, not sure if I could possibly just post a zip file so you can just get the extras, or it would have to be ported as an entire rom.
Any help would be appreciated new to all of this.
Thank you.
I can't say for sure but I imagine there would be plenty of people that would like trying out your ROM and probably others that would love the extras as standalone options. I have an Eris, not a G2x so I wouldn't be able to run the ROM either way but wanted to chime in since I've been working on getting a fully functional standalone version of the MIUI camera that will work on all different phones.
The link in my signature takes you to a more stable version of it but I also recently posted a test version here that has FFC working for at least some. There are other issues that need to be ironed out but I mainly wanted to know if FFCs worked with it and for what devices. I'd be interested to know if it worked for the G2x. Also, I'd be happy to share anything about what all I did if that information would help you.
hell yea dude!!!
do people use smart phones to do dumb things?
I'd like to see it
Okay thanks guys I'll try to get some help to put something together. It'll be my first attempt, and thanks mongoose your version seems better than the one i had ffc is working but in reverse/upside down.

Haha, that quote made me laugh. Everytime I see that commercial I can't help but giggling. (It's like watching the evil dead series, it's so stupid and cheesy that you just can't help laughing at it )
I've found devs and members on xda helpfull. Pm some developers make a balls to wall ROM and zip up the extras. I don't know what's up with all the gingerbread threads. Once the G2x finally gets gingerbread the dev sections gonna explode. You know what I mean explode
that rom sounds like it would be f*ckin awesome. i think you should do it!

seeking optimized TMOUS ROM

I am helping a close friend out with their new HTC One S. They really like the stock TMobile US Rom but complain about battery, and performance. I would like to know if there is a customized rom that is close to the TMo stock rom. Optimizations for performance, stability, and battery are all that is really wanted. Sense, with stock TMo bloat is just fine, and no theming.
Noble Series ROM seems to be the closest to my request, but it's a discontinued project with no download links.
Next closest appears to be TrickDroid, but the customizations removed some stock apps and changed some features that are missed.
I tried searching for roms to find one, but the descriptions are severly lacking. If it were my phone, I would just load new ROMs till I found one I liked, but it's for a friend and I can't get a hold of their phone long enough to do all that.
thanks guys!
Zydroid
Sent from my HTC One S using xda premium
Before this post get move to Q&A..
I'm running TrickDroid v3.0, which is stock rom. You can flash tweaks afterward if you like.
What are the features your friend looking for?
Another rom you can look into is Zydroid 2.0 similar to TrickDroid, but a little different in my opinion.
Battery is great on both..
Wrong section bud, try general or Q&A. My choice goes with TrickDroid, best for performance and battery and has TMOBUS version. You can use LeeDroid (I prefer much more) as it works extremely well on my TMOBUS device.
I remember back in the old days on my old device, people who posted in the wrong section got banned! This guy gets off easy
i apologize for posing to the wrong forum. I assumed as I was asking about a custom rom, that it was for dev area.
Mod's feel free to move this to Q/A.
Zydroid clearly states that it removed the bloatware.
TrickDroid does not state this, but it is removed.
We'd like to keep the stock apps if possible.
With TrickDroid, I know you get all regular apps EXCEPT the bloat **** T-Mobile puts on the device (why would anyone want this worthless crap anyways?). You still get all HTC Sense stuff and common Android apps (Play, music, Beats, browser, blah blah blah...). Same goes for LeeDroid.
anyone know what the diffs are between zydroid and trickdroid? ...... leedroid appears heavily themed. I dont care for or want theme changes.
both are based on stock w/sense. the appear competitive on tweaks. both have the stock TMO apps removed.
I'm about to release one as I've just got a One S in my hands It'll be good...
I've tried both trickdroid and zydroid, but not yet touched leedroid as it seems more of a international version. also now that you mention about the extra theme that kinda seems like a turn off to me.
So far although both are great roms I personally prefer zydroid's version, seems smooth, to the point and intended more for tmo user as it was created by a tmo user (granted trickdroid does have a tmo version, it was created by someone who is not using tmo). as far as the extra apps u get from tmo well... yes they both take them off but if there is any that you did want you can go back to the playstore and download them again for free
Hope that helps

NRG!! Now I don't feel so bad sticking with HOS. I've been using energy since my Touch Pro 2 days. Loved the ROMs!
Can't wait for Energy on HOS
PS: Maybe you can figure out why the damn volume fluctuates when you plug in headphones from music to apps.
(For instance, I'm listening to music plugged in AUX to my car and then if it switches to Voxer or Phone, its super low(even at full vol), then it goes back to full volume with music) Very annoying.)
I'd definitely give zydroid ago, Zylith is a great guy and has some excellent responses with his ROM

I maybe mistaken but from what I have read, the guys from trickdroid and zydroid are chatting on helping each other out for their next project. Can't wait to see how that turns out!
all great posts. you guys are great!

Non-owner, Q on a stable functional Rom

Not your typical, "what is the most stable Rom?" thread. I rooted my buddies phone when he came to see me about a week ago, and tossed a nice ICS Rom on it, AospX. Really nice Rom, BUT, he's having some issues with it. Since he is not quite as nerdy as I, I wanted to reach out to those of you who in fact DO own the phone, and can recommend a full featured Rom that is somewhat stable.... i.e. Camera works, voice calls, data, w/out random reboots. He lives 4 hours from me in Denver, so I don't make it down there often enough to really give him the latest and greatest frequently.
I have a few lined up for him to try later tonight:
Android_Revolution 6.3.3
BlissDroid V1 and the 1.1 update
RCMix.Energized 2.21.12
If there is an MIUI port, GB or ICS, I would love to get him on that. I have searched the forum and only found mention of the Rom, not the Rom itself. Feel free to shoot me a link!!!
Thank you Ladies and Gentlemen.
The best you can do is let him download the xda app, teach him the basics:
-where to go to download roms
-how to backup
-how to wipe or get a wipe script
-how to flash
-how to recover if anything goes wrong, i.e.: mount sd card to transfer the rom from the pc to the cell
-and probably more I forgot.
Rd miui is nice as well the one made by mcgrath. Those are gb. I can't remember if bliind made a gb miui, he is working on an ics.
You can get roms from both the inspire and dhd forums.
Edit: It may be best you keep him on GB and wait till ICS is 99% working. Cause if you don't, he may start complaining like our girlfriends and wives. I'm not insinuating anything nor mean any disrespect, I'm just trying to help you avoid constant calls/texts cause something may not be working and he not being as "nerdy" as us.

Again, thanks, and I'll be checking this every little bit on my way to Denver.

Even though it was mentioned, I didn't realize DHD was the desire hd.... and there appears to be a V4 MIUI on MIUI.us for that. Next time I go see him, that's the trick. For the mean time, CM9 was flashed. So far do good. Pretty smooth! Bad as battery life. He's happy.
