Hi
I'm new to the forum. I'm also new to Android. So I guess I'm a newbie noob!
I'm not intending this to be a question otherwise I would have posted it in the Q&A. This is an excellent forum and I don't wish to break the rules so my apologies if I have posted in the wrong place.
I have recently bought an asus Transformer TF101 and have been going through it's various settings including the MobileDock Battery saving Mode. Now, of course, the screen does not wake by pressing a key. However, quite by accident, I have found that it does wake by double tapping the touch pad with two fingers or tapping the touchpad and then the space bar in quick succession. Also one or two swipes on the touchpad wakes it aswell.
Just wondered if anyone else had noticed this. The MobileDock is a B70, version is EP101-0213.
Regards
Nope, my 8.6.5.19 TF101 (dock version ep101-0213) does not wake up on any action on touchpad if MobileDock saving is checked.... Y'r maybe lucky man
Previously, everything woke mine up, but then I sent it back for the deep sleep problem. Now mine wakes up to any touchpad activity. Baby steps?
I'm still not sure if I should send it back again. I never really payed enough attention to see whether or not the repairs made any difference.
wow that makes things easier than hiting the power button works on mine with the dubble tap on the trackpad
sweeeeeeet!
sweeeeet! Maybe you could hit my THANKS button!
I've double posted somehow. there seems to be a severe keyboard lag when using this message box
Just tried mine a double tap on the track pad will wake it up
You can disable the touchpad first. Afterwards, it will no wake up the tablet. This works for mine.
Holy crap, now I know why my Transformer "randomly" turns on when I grab it to move it somewhere. This is actually a nice feature I hadn't realised existed..
I think my dock may still be using a fair bit of power in standby. Disabling the touchpad may cure that. Does anyone else have real problems typing in the message box? i'm having real problems with sporadic delay.

I have some issues of the touchpad mistaking my palm as my finger and screwing up when I'm tryping to type. There's also a problem with how sensitive and fast the cursor moves. I hope ASUS adds a sensitivity setting in future updates.
Sent from my Transformer TF101
In a video review on youtube they said there was a hotkey to disable to trackpad for when you are typing. I don't have my tablet yet and haven't even found a keyboard dock, so I can't verify.
As far as sensitivity, I don't think there is much to be done about it for now. We will indeed have to hope ASUS adds a setting for it.
I have the same issue when I am typing where my palm seems to hit the trackpad and it brings the cursor somewhere else, messing up what I am typing. I guess that is sort of a good thing though because it is training me to be more ergonomically correct and keep my rests elevated while typing lol. There is a hot key to disable the track pad, but it is sort of a pain to have to do it every time you want to type.
I hope they include some settings for the next update to adjust sensitivity and to change what two finger actions do, because sometimes I notice myself trying to do a two finder scroll, and instead, it does a two finger click on a link.
I'm ready to throw my dock into the wall. The trackpad on it has become terrible since I've updated the firmware. As I'm navigating in the browser, it's clicking whatever it likes and I somehow end up at the homescreen.
Anyone else having issues?
I thought I was having the same issue with my trackpad, but it is very sensitive. If you'll notice two things....while you're typing you might accidentally be hitting the trackpad with your palm, but the most common issue that I faced with my mouse clicking things when trying to move and scroll like you was that the trackpad was responding to my two fingers touching the trackpad as a click, which causes you to inadvertently click things when you don't want to. I always disable the two finger or long press click on laptops, so I am hoping that they will make that an option in future firmware updates also.
All of my errors were happening in the browser, while using the trackpad to navigate, click, and two finger scroll.
I did more testing and I found out that the dock works fine when plugged into a power source. It starts going crazy when it's running on battery.
I'm going to RMA it to Newegg.
After the last firmware update, I've noticed that occasionally, my shortcut keys on the top row of the keyboard dock will stop working. It seems to happen most often when the TF is sitting overnight and then in the morning when I try to adjust brightness or open the browser using the shortcuts, they won't respond. The rest of the keyboard operates normally, with the exception of the top row.
In order to get the top row working again, I have to reboot.
Has anyone else experienced this?
My shortcut keys have worked every time for mine on all 3 firmware versions up to .13

I never had this happen on .12, but this happens regularly with .13 for me.
This also happens to me on .13, the Audio and music keys still work but Wifi through Settings keys stop working until a reboot.

How about the touch pad?
Not to hijack this thread but lately I have experienced that my touch pad is not working after I close the transformer. A reboot rectifies the issue but it's annoying. Do you think this is a related problem?

Will your trackpad shortcut key turn the trackpad back on when this happens?

Nope but the on-screen display works; all special shortcut keys actually work. It's only the touch pad that won't cooperate. It seems to happen whenever the screen goes to sleep
I am surprised by this problem. I've been using the dock for weeks now without trouble. I installed PRIME 1.3 when it was released and never had trouble with anything. Is it possible that an app can cause this disruption?
If you have a TF101 and a dock, with Stock ICS, can you please tell me:
when docked:
1. does clicking the mouse wake your tablet from sleep?
2. does moving the touchpad wake your tablet from sleep?
3. does anything else wake up your tablet, besides opening it up, and the power button?
Thanks, I'm trying to figure out if my dock is normal, or if it has a bad I/O, and I'd rather not have to flash the stock rom just to find out, it's a pain if you're just going to use it for 5 minutes.
touching the mouse pad does wake up mine...
Touching the pad does wake up the screen. Clicking the mouse button also wakes up the screen for me too.
Yes, touching the mousepad / moving mouse cursor / pressing left (only left, not right) button under mousepad wakes my TF up. But that's about it, besides this and power button nothing else does that.
all right, thanks everyone, I guess it sounds like my dock is normal then. (somebody on here told me I might have a bad I/O on my dock and might need to RMA it, but I guess mine is fine)
I have a tf201 dock for my 700, had it since I owned the prime. Never had an issue with it, but I just noticed that the trackpad has stopped responding. when i drag across it I see no pointer, but if I plug in an external mouse and use that instead, everything is fine. I have no problems typing with it at all.
has anyone else experienced this at all? Any fixes or something that locks/unlocks the trackpad?

Hi! I'm the idiot that posted this above. Apparently, I'm not too bright and don't think before posting. So allow me to answer my own dumb question,... its the 4th button from the left along the top row. trackpad lock and unlock button. I will now commence flaming myself....
have a nice day!
i was just Googling how to disable the track pad and found my answer and was just going to post that for you. I keep hitting mine accidentally and it's annoying, glad you can disable and enable it so easily
