[Q] galaxy s 4g gingerbread 2.3.6 via samsung kies mini - Samsung Galaxy S (4G Model)

Hi...new here.....Originally SGS4G running froyo 2.2 with superuser, busybox, and rommanager via superoneclick psneuter option...everything saved...installed GINGERBREAD 2.3.6 stock via samsung kies mini...removed sim and sd to perform. everything about my settings and data on phone is the same...new rom very cool, crisper, brighter, nice boot animation (after tmob intro )and alot faster...however I lost all root priveledges ofcourse and am not sure how to go about re-rooting the new stock rom, or flashing back to the froyo I had set up..I'm not very concerned because nothing has changed but the root privs. ALSO...Superoneclick 2.2 won't work in ANY way at all. any ideas? or am I just stuck with this for now?

I heard using the newest SOC two times in a row will do. Don't take my word on it, lemme know of anything!

Use SOC 2.3.1 - latest. It will take 5-7 min to root GB kj6 rom.
And then you need to push and install busybox using adb.

Cool so part done...soc2.3.1 broke into it a bit...now trying to figure out how to get adb running on my comp to force bbox in...this is all a learning exp so ill keep u updated...thx for the push in the right direction...

Why not Odin a modded kernel by Dr honk to get root and cwm?

you don't have to use adb, just put this busybox into /system/xbin directory...
you can do it with RootExplorer or just in terminal.
Make sure owner, permissions are correct and make symbolic links to busybox:
#chown root.root /system/xbin/busybox
#chmod 04755 /system/xbin/busybox
#system/xbin/busybox --install -s /system/xbin
PS: you need to remount /system volume to be RW first.

Sorry took a while to get back to this...hollidays have been extremely busy for us. Anyhow I was able to SOC the gingerbread platform after a few tries and now I have a soft root for now. I'm having a hard time trying to get clockwork mod to work on my phone and from the info I've seen so far the galaxy s series phones aren't quite compatible with clockword mod for some reason. I'm still quite inexperienced in this area and haven't taken the time to look up as much info as I maybe should be. I've decided to give it a rest for now because all the offered roms I've seen short of ICSandwich are based on older firmware platforms and don't seem to offer anything very different/useful to me at this time. I'm gonna start playing around with some heimdall stuff when I get another phone to screw around with (probably an HTC). Until then, just going to enjoy 2.3.6 until 2.3.7beta gets the go. You guys here rock and keep up the info updates. I appreciate the help VERY much. BTW if u know of any newer gingerbread firmware packages that have been modded by a known good source I'd love to hear about it!

You could change the kernel if you are looking to change roms, very easy way is to download sgs kernel flasher from the market. download one of the cwm added kernals, i'm using kj1 from Dr honks thread, then open kernel flasher and find the .zip and flash

How do I use a custom rom boot.

I would like it if someone could tell me how to get/use a custom rom boot cause I really want one and haven't the slightest idea cause I'm tired of seeing the sprint 4g start up lol.

Well if you are rooted, then go donwload one of the many custom boots on this site. Download the bootanimation.zip (and sound file if its included) to your phone. Then go grab a program like astro or root explorer and copy and paste the 2 files into /system/media. I've done it this way a few times and have never had a problem. Next time though you should use the search feature im pretty sure theres a whole thread dedicated to it.
I searched for help first but they didn't explain it the way you did. I'm going to try your method. I hope it works, I wonder if someone could make one for me..

I haven't tried either, all I know is that one uses the computer and the other has something to do with terminal and a bunch of codes, which is easier and I rooted my phone just fine, I'm learning..

it all depends on what you have I have the evo with froyo 2.2 android on it and was told it cant be rooted but i followed a video on youtube and got mine rooted you don't actualy have to flash the whole rom to get a new animation booted... just root your phone depending on what you have... i used the unrevoked method follwing a youtube video of course with windows i had to install the hboot usb thing on my evo anyways i got it rooted and the unrevoked site is just one click i got the software from unrevoked dot com... download the unrevoked 3 for whatever operating system your running on your PC... hook it up to your PC watch the youtube video tutorials they will help... don't just watch one though i spent a whole 2 weeks reasearching everything i could to root it... just incase i failed i knew how to undo it from my research... the unrevoked method worked for me... and i havn't been limited to anything i got the free tethering got full premissions i have custom lock screen and boot screen.. anyways go to the site download that theres several other files you will need like the hbooter software if your rooting the evo.. i'm not giving a tutorial on this because i spent to much time myself and knowing what i know would take this whole website to type up. ok so
back to the boot screens.. the site unrevoked is just one click... litteraly start it up with the files all ready and it'll do the rest including rebooting your phone and loading into recovery everything, now you will not loose everything, i did the root and lost nothing but just incase because there is always the chance of errors... get an app called astro... to back up all of your installed apps and an app called MIQ to backup your contacts, calandar, notes, everything basicly on your phone besides apps... on a website create a profile to upload too and then get one more app called SMS backup to backup all of your text messages outbox and inbox and you can restore it all later if for anyreason something is lost.. these are all free apps... now after it roots your phone it will install the clock work rom or w.e. i guess it does flash your phone with a rom but its pretty much the same exact thing and when i did it i lost nothing everything was still installed. if you have the correct files on your computer in the C drive on the root of the C drive... the directory you should have for the files you need to download are "C:\android" and thats it.. anyways again just root the phone then download an app called boot animation changer lite....
with boot animation changer lite all you need to do is have a rooted phone.. scroll through what you like and preview them and if you want it then tap it and choose your screen for me on the evo i chose "480x800" i don't know if thats the wrong one or causes problems but it hasn't failed yet its working good and looks fantastic
I used the exact same way to root my phone, I too used a youtube video and did a lot of research before doing something crazy. I got the app your reffered to me and it worked pretty good (thank you!) But now I want to figure out how to use adb or how to push boot roms from this site onto my phone and 480x800 was the correct size..I think. Your help was very descriptive and I like that. So can anyone help describe the adb method and or the push method so I can learn how to use the boots from this site? Please and thank you in advance.

First - Do you have the EVO drivers, and the Android SDK installed on your computer? This is needed in order to utilize ADB.
If not:
ANDROID SDK
Some of the bootanimations have been made available in a flashable zip that you can install from recovery.
If you are talking about the ones that were installed during the root process under /android then yes, so how would I go about using that to install the boots?
Sent from HTC EVO 4G via xda app
OK then.
Place the bootanimation.zip, and (optional mp3 file)
Open a command prompt and cd to wherever you have your TOOLS folder in the SDK.
ex) cd c:/AndroidSDK/tools
Then you mount the device, and can push the files to your phone to this directory:
/system/customize/resource/
ex) :
adb push bootanimation.zip /system/customize/resource/
adb push SPC_animation_final.mp3 /system/customize/resource/
Then simply reboot through adb:
adb reboot
NOTE: If the bootanimation you are switching to DOES NOT have sound then you need to remove the SPC_animation_final.mp3 from /system/customize/resource/
DONESIES!

[Temp] Fix for missing apps on froyo

in your build.prop replace the current text with this: you can get things like tv.com back
Code:
ro.build.description=passion-user 2.2.1 FRG83 60505 release-keys
ro.build.fingerprint=google/passion/passion/mahimahi:2.2.1/FRG83/60505:user/release-keys
i would upload one for people to flash but as some many people are on diff roms/kernels it would just cause more issues then its worth best way to go about fixing it is pulling the file from your phone (or the zip from teh rom your on). swapping out the text and pushing it back to /system

yes, and after rebooting a rechecked my build.prop file to make sure it took, and it was correct

The end of the second line was missing the s. Put the s in, and it works perfect.
Can I get some clarification on this? I am using Mammon 1.0.3.1 and cannot get my sprint football ap to work.
Would this be an example of what this would fix?
Could the MSID number in my phone being different from my phone number be the reason it doesn't think this is a SPrint phone?
Thanks for posting a fix but it also didn't seem to work for me. I have been trying to load a program called Laser Appraiser from maket with no avail. Can anyone find it in their market?

[GUIDE]Full Root and CWM without computer w/ Gingerbreak.apk by Chainfire & 743C

Well, since no one has mentioned this yet, hope has returned for the quick computerless root, via apk!
This is not my work, it is Chainfire's apk, with Android Exploid Crew's gingerbreak binary inside... brought to you by the makers of rageagainstthecage-arm5.bin... anyways, here's the xda post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1044765
Note: this only installs su with superuser.apk, and not busybox, from what I've seen, I tested this with stock EC05. I'm glad busybox is not included, since it would be broken, due to the limited space of the stock EC05 system. So for most using this, the first steps, after rooting with this, would be the following:
Edit: new instructions, for installing rooted kernel, and Clockworkmod 2.5.1.0, all without a computer:
* on the phone, goto menu > settings > applications. Make sure Unknown sources is checked. Goto Development, and make sure USB debugging is checked.
* Install the following apps from the market: SGS Kernel Flasher, ROM Manager, Astro File Manager, and Dolphin Browser HD, all available free from the market, the names here are market links, for your convenience. If opening the links on the phone, make sure to choose the market, when opening them.
Note: Astro File Manager is for ease of locating and installing the gingerbreak.apk on your sdcard. Dolphin Browser HD is recommended, so that downloads don't get the names truncated... The stock browser has been known to do this, especially on my kernel zip downloads.
* Grab the gingerbreak.apk from here (I used the 1.2 version of the apk). either tap the apk download from the dropdown menu, or use astro file manager to locate the apk, and install it. Now close astro file manager, and any other apps that may be using the sdcard.
Now it's time to open gingerbreak from your applications, and choose, "Root Device". It may take up to several minutes, before the phone reboots itself. If all has gone according to plan, you will now have a very basic root, with the Superuser app, so that you can control what apps have root permissions. If for some reason you don't have superuser in your apps, or the gingerbreak has frozen past 10 minutes, reboot the phone, and run the gingerbreak app again.
Note: I am not directly linking the apk here, out of respect for Chainfire, who developed this apk... I wouldn't do it without his permission anyways.
* download DRockstar.Clean.Kernel.EC05.v1.02.zip and put on your sdcard
Original kernel post with sources: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1053252
* Open SGS kernel flasher, and be sure to give permission when the superuser prompt appears. Tap "choose kernel", tap .. , locate DRockstar.Clean.Kernel.EC05.v1.02.zip on your sdcard, and flash the kernel. It should reboot the phone when done. You'll now be running a rooted stock kernel, with some nice added features.
* download cwm2.5.1.0.zip.
Original ReRFS Stock ROM and tools: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1027904
Note: It's a really good idea to download ReRFS Stock ROM, in case you need to stock the phone, in a jam.
* open ROM Manager app, and Tap "Flash ClockworkMod Recovery". Choose the Epic 4G.
The following message will appear:
"Epic4G does not have an officially supported ClockworkMod Recovery yet. Have you installed a ClockworkMod recovery manually?"
choose yes, and select ClockworkMod 2.x.
Next, tap "Install ROM from SD Card". Browse to, and choose the cwm2.5.1.0.zip on your sdcard.
Tap OK at "Reboot and Install", and be sure to give permission, when the superuser prompt appears.
Presto... rooted kernel with full busybox, and Clockworkmod, with no computer needed, for the epic!
Note: Here's cwm3.0.0.6.zip, if you're ready to plunge into ext4. Make sure you have an ext4 compatible ROM ready to flash, on your you sdcard, before converting to ext4. The stock EC05 system will not boot after converting to ext4. Also, be warned, that as of yet, no posted Epic kernels are ROM Manager compatible with ext4, though I am quite certain that tanimn is very hard at work, doing his best to make this happen.
Anyways, I figured all this would be welcome news, and gives me hope again, that an all in one apk can be mustered for the Epic.
I know some are you are saying, "But this is all so complicated, can't you make this any easier?" Well, I say, having dealt with driver and cable issues galore for months, supporting one click root adb scripts... that this is, in fact, no more complicated at all. It may even be easier.
Maybe with some luck and a little skill, I can do a custom apk for us in the future, but for now, this *will* work.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk
It's been mentioned in "themes and apps" where it belongs not here in development.
OK, I did look there first (in the Epic section, anyways), but I must have missed it...
Some of the devs in the irc channel didn't even know, so I thought it was worthy of mention here, as much as a one click root is stickied in this very section.
If this thread needs to be deleted, so be it, I thought I was doing a service, calling people's attention to it, and outlining what steps should be taken, after using it.
Edit: now I see a post in the apps section, but my notes here are still very pertinent, to anyone relying on the gingerbreak.apk
theimpaler747: do what you will on this thread, it was intended as a public service announcement, and just might affect the development of the epic, especially since it'll most likely become the new root for gingerbread. I leave it up to you and your judgement.

First off, I suspect any one click scripts for gingerbread, would have to use the gingerbreak binary, also listed and linked in the Chainfire post.
Hopefully, before GB is released (and hopefully a patch hasn't been, for rooter's sake), we can make an apk that flashes a proper recovery in bml8. (Preferably, in my opinion, to cwm 2.5.1.0, until the user decides to convert to ext4, which can be done with a subsequent cwm zip, like the cwm3.0.0.6.zip in my ReRFS Stock ROM post.)
joeykrim has made a kernel flashing apk (FlashImage GUI, in market), but at my behest, left out the ability to flash bml8, due to the fact that if a corrupt kernel is flashed there, odin or heimdall is required to fix it, once a 3 button boot is attempted to a corrupt bml8 flash.
For now, I would recommend a manual bmlwrite bml8 flash for a known good recovery kernel, for anyone using the gingerbreak method.
Also, some kernels, like my Clean Kernel, have reboot recovery to cwm 2.5.1.0 if RFS, and, can be flashed with the free SGS Kernel Flasher apk from the market. Once reboot recovery is achieved, cwm can be flashed to bml8, using the zip tools in the ReRFS post.

Actually, you can convert to ext4 too, with the cwm3.0.0.6.zip posted in the ReRFS ROM thread... just flash it through cwm 3 button boot, or from reboot recovery with the kernel... keep in mind, that reboot recovery won't work for ext4 with the Clean Kernel, at this point in time.
but anyway, there's still nothing you can't do without a computer!

Also, almost all the links are phone friendly now, especially if you use the Dolphin HD Browser to download files, and the app names, are now market links, in the hopes that will make installing them even easier from the phone.
The only link that is not a direct link, is to the actual gingerbreak.apk itself, which is contained in an xda post, that requires xda registration to see. I respect that and the original dev, and will not give a direct download link, without Chainfire's expressed permission. I do think others will understand this.
Anyways,
Hope you all dig it!

[How to] Disable CarrierIQ on the Atrix 2

I am posting this in the Developer forum, because it is still a little more than a In-experienced user can handle at the moment, and the potential to get into a bootloop is a little higher if you are not familiar with what you are doing here.
If you are at all new / uncomfortable with Android, UNIX/LINUX, this phone, or adb, then: PLEASE DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME.
If you get into a bootloop I am not responsible for this, nor is this the place to complain if that happens. You can ask for support here though if this process has caused that.
If you do get into a bootloop, then try and help me out, with providing as much info as possible with what happened (any output or screen prints are VERY helpful). I am also posting the original /system/etc/init.goldfish.sh file here AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS POST. That way if it does all go wrong it is here to grab. So don't go asking for it someplace else, or even asking here for it.
You have been warned!
Now with that out of the way, on to the good stuff.
1) Go grab some kind of bloat freeze program, from the market. I have used bloat freezer from the market with great success.
Just download and install it, don't run it just yet, if you already have, and frozen the "Device Health Application", then unfreeze it, and reboot, before doing the next step.
It is VERY important that it is done in EXACTLY this order. The reason is, if the Device Health program is frozen when you let the init script run, it will not work exactly as it should and these services will restart, since part of it is frozen when it first runs, and it all has to be disabled in the proper way, so that it can not be restarted remotely, or we will HAVE to use cron to run checks. Cron is an elaborate hack, I don't want to have to do, unless we HAVE to. If you do it in the exact order noted here, cron will not be needed and this will not restart.
2) Go get the init.goldfish.sh file from http://dl.dropbox.com/u/45576654/init.goldfish.sh.tar
push this tarball to your phone:
Code:
adb push init.goldfish.sh.tar /data/local/
End code
Now is the command line part of this hack.
Code:
adb shell
su
mount -o remount, rw /system
cd /data/local
tar -xvf init.goldfish.sh.tar
cp /system/etc/init.goldfish.sh /sdcard/init.goldfish.sh
cp ./init.goldfish.sh /system/etc/init.goldfish.sh
chown root /system/etc/init.goldfish.sh
chmod 550 /system/etc/init.goldfish.sh
mount -o remount, ro /system
reboot
End code
Now when your phone comes back up:
3) Open your bloat freezer program and freeze the "Device Health Application"
Your phone will freak out, and tell you that Device Health has stopped and it will keep asking you to FC, all you can do is pull the battery.
Put the battery back in the phone an boot it up.
Now CarrierIQ should be 100% disabled on your Atrix 2.
As promissed, here is the Original /system/etc/init.goldfish.sh file in a tarball, just use the same code above to put this back in place.
DON'T USE ROOT EXPLORER TO COPY THESE FILES INTO PLACE!!!
Original /system/etc/init.goldfish.sh file:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/45576654/init.goldfish.sh-orig.tar

LOL....
Hopefully I have not scared everyone from trying this.... I just want to let all the newbies who just got this as thier first android phone yesterday, and rooted it today, and now think that this is a good hack to try, that this is not the best thing for them just yet. It can and will bootloop the phone if you get too excited and don't follow the directions exactly... I got mine in a bootloop testing this all out, and finding the exact steps, but it was not hard to get out of, because it gets into android enough to let you adb in, if you screw up...
quick question: Why would rooting followed by freezing not work for that application? I think I did that when I got the phone. I don't see anything called Device Health in my running or installed applications.
Is carrierIQ still running on my phone? Have you got a string I can look for in the 'ps' output in the Terminal to confirm? There are 100000 processes running on these phones these days, most with cryptic names.... I miss the G1 days....

Is carrierIQ still running on my phone? Have you got a string I can look for in the 'ps' output in the Terminal to confirm? There are 100000 processes running on these phones these days, most with cryptic names.... I miss the G1 days....

No just freezing the device health app just stops the collection process.
The part where you run the commands to stop the services in android are where the data can and will be sent to CIQ or AT&T, there are other things collected that att does not care much about (ATT only wants what is collected with the dev health app), and that goes straight to CIQ, so the services at the OS level are VERY important to stop. There is really not a way to see them running, but I have found that these can and will restart if my instructions are not followed 100%. To find out if CIQ is doing anything take a look on youtube there is a video that explains how to look at the system logs and see what is being collected if anything, and what is being sent out. After a lot of trial and error, I found this is the ONLY way to stop it 100%.
Hey Jim. sorry I've been out of the forums for so long on this. I was going to dig around my atrix2 and see what I could find wrt carrieriq. I got stuck on missing shell tools and you gave me some advice wrt paths and such. I was wondering if you could point me in the right direction for fixing up my env when I shell in? I also don't seem to have grep anywhere... odd.
YOu mentioned doing some of the destructive work in an emulator, and I would like to try the same thing, but I've no idea how to get the atrix2 ROM into an emulator. How did you accomplish this?
I followed the instructions above precisely and verified that my init.goldfish.sh is indeed modified correctly with the carrieriq stuff, and have suffered no ill effects. I have not, however, attempted to determine if carrieriq processes have stopped running. I did notice that after having frozen and unfrozen device.health.monitor a few times, it doesn't ever register as a running app... wonder what's up with that.
thanks for the help.
I was wondering....could this be made into a handy dandy flashable zip?
Then after flashing just freeze the app?

NICE! you really are a jedi master!
Who wants to be the first to try this out? I have created a flashable zip to disable CIQ on every boot, all you have to do is grab the file below:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/45576654/NoCIQ.zip
Then with CWM, flash it, don't wipe anything, except maybe dalvic cache, but nothing else. This will only flash one file to your phone.
You will still have to freeze the device health app as in the OP.
This is just a test right now, once someone other than me tests this, and reports back, that all is great, then I will update the OP, to this method.

It said switch to edify scripting. Installation aborted. Something about gingerbread cwm 3. Not sure. Never see this before. I checked the zip and it has 2 updater scripts. One just has a ~ at the end. I know nothing of code but just trying to help.

Tried this. No go. Here is the error in CWM.
Installing Update...
Amend Scripting (update0script) is no longer supported.
Amend Scripting was deprecated by Google in Android 1.5.
It was necessary to remove it when upgrading to the ClockworkMod 3.0 Gingerbread based recover.
Please switch to Edify scripting (updater-script and update-binary) to create working update zip packages.
Installation Aborted.
There ya go. Hope this helps.

That does not perform the hack, only detects if it is running. The voodoo ciq detection app works much better though.

I just rooted my phone, applied the hack and used Titanium Backup to freeze the Device Health App but I didn't see any FC.
Although when I opened Ti Backup, it told me that my su right are wrong. They are 4755 instead of 6755 or something like that and TiBu told me that it will fix it. I fixed it then froze the app and no FC or nothing. Phone is running fine but not sure if it worked.
Is it really necessary for the app to FC in order to show that it worked?
Should I try it all over again?
Thank you.

Go download and install this, and it will show you if it (CarrierIQ) is active or not.

[Q] How To, If Possible, Root With Bad Volume Keys

So, I'm attempting to root a Charge that the volume keys do not work. Apparently, 1 and 2 year olds who have great throwing ability is something the Charge, well, anything really, doesn't exactly appreciate. Normally, I root by going into the download mode, and flashing CWM, then installing the ROM. Obviously, not happening here.
My question is, has someone with more knowledge than I figured out how to accomplish this? Its running stock FP5. I really don't want to send it in because of the contract timing and wasteful of money. I'm also willing to experiment replacing parts, if someone knows anything about it...
Thanks.

Yep. There's a jig that will force the phone into dl mode. IIRC it's branded for the gnex but it's confirmed to work on the Charge as well. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=27533069

Hey, I had a thought of using ADB to root, and somehow forcing CWM on it, then using an app to boot it into dl mode. I've never used and before and don't know if it's possible, although, from what I read, it seems plausible. Can you offer any insight on this idea?

If you have adb all set up and it properly recognizes your phone (something comes up when putting in the adb devices command) you can boot into download mode with
adb reboot download
Actually it's something I looked into recently for another member. I'm not saying it's not possible but I don't think we have the right tools for it. Originally ginger root was used via adb to root the charge but that's not going to work with our version of gb (assuming you could still find it). I'm not sure the format of cwm will work either. I'm not really proficient with adb so someone with more expertise might be able to get you going.

Awesome. I don't have it installed yet, but it doesn't look like it takes much to make it work. Plus, I have nine that isn't screwed up, so I think I'll see what I can come up with later.
On a side note, I can't post a reply to your tweaked 3.1 thread, but I ran into somewhat of a problem... run tweaktools, did the tweaks thing, phone BARELY would run. I also couldn't get a shell to run to get back in to uninstall. What I ended up doing to fix was a reinstall of SuperSU and installing a bash shell off a different emulator to get back into tweaktools. This was after I played in /system/etc/init.d awhile trying my hand at fixing it. Thought you may want/need to knoknow.

By the way, thanks for the tip. I'll report one way or another in a day or 2.

Sorry to hear of the troubles - not sure what would have caused the issue with tweaktools. You weren't able to su, or you weren't able to open terminal emulator? What were you messing with specifically in the tweaks?

Okay, Found it in ADB, and am able to reboot into download, so all is well, I think.
On the tweaktools issue, I kinda did something like this...One tweak does okay, so lets install ALL of them....after that, performed the reboot, and everything went very sloooow. So, I tried to get into a term emulator, and nothing happened, the shell wouldn't even start. Blank screen. So, I tried a different outside of ROM toolbox. Nothing. So, I played around with the settings here and there, and still nothing. I then went into root browser, and started trying to manually move the tweaks out, nothing different. So, I downloaded another term emulator, "Better Terminal Emulator" and got a bash shell to at least open, was able to get into tweaktools, erase all tweaks, clear downloads. But the shells still weren't operating right. They'd open and run, but nothing would show on screen. So, a erase/reinstall of SuperSU, everything good....LOL
Well, maybe it'll help, maybe not, but here's the path I used to do this:
Visit samsung's site for the ADB download and install to c:\android-sdk\ (default)
Put USB Debugging on in phone
Start up command line and Odin 1.82
issue following in command line (notably in the c:\android-sdk\platform-tools)
Code:
adb reboot download
Odin up some Tweaked 2.2 with recovery and kernel for root
once rebooted, issue the following in ADB shell:
Code:
adb shell
su (Checked phone to be sure root was granted)
cd /data
rm -R *
cd /cache
rm -R *
cd /dbdata rm -R *
reboot, then adb reboot download.
Flashed EP4 Stock, updated,
Updated to FP5E
Once again, USB debug, adb reboot download, and Odin Tweaked 3.1 with 0302,
follow above code again, reboot, and I think I have it right....
Since the volume keys don't work on here, is there a way to screw around in the recovery mode via ADB rather than only the keys? I see ADB sees the phone in recovery, and seems to want to connect with it....Second is, is there a way to play with this in the *nix enviroment? I also have been searching for the Gingerbreak, etc to root this thing on stock, but haven't been able to do it....and last, is there a way to do a data wipe other than what I did, and think i accomplished with ADB?
Thanks
With the CWM that I am using, you can use the hard buttons at the bottom of the phone to navigate.
