Installing Nexus S OTA Rom on Galaxy Ace? - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I own both phones: the nexus s, and the galaxy ace.
I really like the stock Nexus S OTA rom, but the stock Galaxy Ace OTA roms have all this Samsung bloatware included with them. I've installed the custom Myth ICS rom on the Galaxy Ace, but I was wondering if I could install the Nexus S OTA rom on the Galaxy Ace?
If not, what would be the closest thing to the stock Nexus S OTA rom for the Galaxy Ace?

Check in galaxy ace android development if there is a fully aosp rom. You want it without touchwiz right?

Ah, so that's what Samsung's bloatware is called... "TouchWiz"
I'll do a search right now. I didn't realize that roms like the Nexus S OTA roms are called AOSP roms either. Thanks!

You can't just flash it install nexus s Roms onto the g ace. Look at the development section for g ace and then flash a rom that is aosp and not touchwiz for your g ace.

Touchwiz Rom?

I was wondering if there was a stock/pure Touchwiz Rom.
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using XDA Premium
Nope, at least currently there's no touchwiz rom.
But of course, we might get touchwiz in the future. Since we have lots of great devs

Nope - No Touchwhiz rom however you can flash this touchwhiz addon(UX) file to get GS3 look. It is for GS1 but i was able to flash it on my Nexus S Running Code Name Android Rom and it worked.

Why no, we can make a port ,right ? But it will take alot of effort. We better wait for our ICS update.
Questions go in the Q&A section

Great idea. I'm looking forward to seeing how you do it. Considering that it's totally different hardware, it will be a challenge, but you want a challenge, right?
Actually some guy is porting a full sgs3 touchwiz rom to galaxy Nexus they are 2 completely different phones/hardware and the port its turning out really good.. Step by step adding all features and looks... Its not all there but almost.. He needs some more days/weeks and it will be working at 100% he has been releasing betas with all the done features and hey for those who likes touchwiz the rom its pretty awesome

Now it is released and I have one! Would be nice to get a new section for it

It would be kind of pointless porting galaxy note 10.1 to any galaxy tablet for the simple reason that one of notes special features like using a stylus pen would not be useable on the Sgt and in the end all you will have is just a stock ics. In the end I see no need to do a port for it I would not mind using some of its apps though...

A word of caution: PA is like crack - once you get the DPIs set up the way you like all other ROMs lose their appeal!

Root for ICS

Hello All,
I am a current Galaxy Nexus user but I have come over here to ask a few questions in regards to the I727. My friend owns this device and has just upgraded his phone to ICS 4.0.4 (Build # IMM76D.UCLF6), and he has come to me wanting me to root his phone for him. Now just for a little background, he has never been rooted and has always run his phone stock. He updated through the Kies software. I am pretty familiar with android and the rooting process. My questions is due to the fairly recent release of ICS is there a working way to root this device?
I have briefly browsed a few of the rooting threads and to my knowledge they are only working if you are running either 2.3.5 or .6. If someone wouldn't mind shedding some light on this situation, that would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Hope this helps

So maybe I am a little spoiled with having the galaxy nexus. It just seems that after viewing a few of the threads and topics, that I see a lot of issues with ppl flashing and rooting this device? Now I do understand that most issues are user error..

They are more than likely user error. But you should be fine.

Almost 99% user error from people flashing other variants of gs2 -777, Global version
Also flash cm9 on his rocket as it's insanely better than stock twiz

I prefer aokp. And there is info on the "brick bug" in the link I posted earlier. I would share what my understanding of it is, but I'm not so sure myself and I don't want any misunderstanding of it. So feel free to take a look.

theres a new updated sticky by me in the dev forum that has all the current roms
[REF] SKYROCKET >> | ROMS | KERNELS | FIRMWARE | RADIOS | GUIDES | INFo

[Q] Roms etc.

I recently purchased the galaxy s3 and am quite happy with it, put adw launcher pro made a few tweaks got the jellybean update and am satisfied with everything it does.
My question is what is the need for flashing new Roms or rooting the device? What is the purpose and benefits?
I'm new to all of this and would love some briefing!
