[Guide] How to seperate Amazon apps from Kindle registration - Kindle Fire Themes and Apps

By doing this you can sign into Amazon apps with different accounts other than the one used to register your fire.
You must be rooted.
*With RootExplorer navigate to /system/app and find com.amazon.dcp.apk
*Rename com.amazon.dcp.apk to com.amazon.dcp.apk.bak
*Reboot
Now you should be able to use whatever account you want to sign into the amazon apps
This worked great for me, though I take no responsibility for anything you may do to your device.

This allowed me to sign in to another Apps account, but then it would not allow me to register the kindle with any account.

How do I get a copy of the APK file of an app that I purchased?

I have multiple Android devices which all have their own gmail acct. How can I get a copy of the APK file that I purchased through the android market? I thought it would go into the download directory, but the app never went there... where else can I look?
Sounds like a huge gray area to me. With the same google account the solution is obvious... but what you are asking for is essentially how to pay for an app once and then put it on everything you own.
With the Xoom, you can open the Market, in the upper-right corner, through the settings/menu button, you can select other accounts you've link to your device. Other devices would require pulling the .apk from the internal storage (/data/apps) via ADB. This, of course, is a grey area since purchases are linked to the account and not the user in general. If you are the purchaser of the apps and the only user of those accounts, I doubt Google would take offense but they certainly won't endorse it.
I originally purchased it on my xoom, but now need to transfer it to my G-Pad because of issues with Cisco VPN over a non-rooted android device. My G-Pad is rooted and I can connect, so I need to transfer the app to the G-Pad. On my G-Pad there's no way to link acct's and honestly I don't know how to use ADB, can someone please shed some light on what that is and how to use it?
easiest way to transfer files between devices is dropbox; if you have root explorer you just find the apk (/data/app) and long-press, click "send" and you can send it to dropbox. Using dropbox on your other device, download it. No google accounts involved
Zoom isn't rooted... Any way to get it without rooting?
I don't think you have access to that folder without root
Sent from my Xoom using Tapatalk
Sign into that google acct. Download it and signout
Sent from my Xoom using XDA App
Clear the cache in apps for the market to sign In through another acct
Sent from my Xoom using XDA App
MyBackup Pro will give you the option to backup the apk file. You can then either copy the entire MyBackup Pro folder over and restore it using MyBackup Pro or go into the folder and send the apk file itself to dropbox.

Hacked Email app (exchange pin request)

Hi,
I am looking for a hacked email app for my Moto X. Had one on another phone earlier - my server policy requieres a PIN lock, which on the Moto X with voice activation is not very helpfull.
Any hints?
Tomi
Couple ways to handle that. If you're rooted, the easiest is to use the Xposed module (can't remember the name, but search modules for Exchange Security).
A better (but not free) way is to use an app that contains the Exchange security to just the app. Nine and Touchdown are the big two. You only get prompted for a pin when you open the app, so it doesn't mess with locks screens. Since the security is still enabled for the Exchange email, you're also less likely to pass off your email admins...
As explained above if you have rooted phone xposed module does the job. I am using this module for many months now

Enhanced mail, best solution.
Mail wise works great too. Look up the exchange bypass code on their site's faq
i have been messing with that ExchangeNoPIN-v6.0 found in here
i am have a dev edition, rooted, on the 4.4.4 ota. i believe on 4.4.2 i had it working simply by flashing the zip on twrp but this was not the case with 4.4.4. i tried a bunch of different things by trial and error... eventually what i ended up doing the following get this to work (not sure which step was the key).
you have to make sure to clear data and cache in both email and exchange service apps first
i copied email.apk and exchange2.apk from the zip in the aforementioned thread into my phone.
interesting bit on 4.4.4 is that email.apk is in /system/priv-app and exchange2.apk is in /system/app
i took manually copied both apks into /system/app and /system/priv-app using root explorer, and set 0644 permissions for each, rebooted, didnt work, so then i simply manually installed both of them by clicking on the apks (from the original directory, before they were copied to the system folders). this installed them as an "update."
after I did this, everything was working.

Is there a portable password manager that can also log into my computer?

Hello,
I was wondering if there is a password manager out there which can be stored on a flashdrive so that I can plug it in to log into my PC among other applications and websites?
I have never used a password manager before, and since recent scandals involving password theft, I feel like a lot of people are posting about the benefits of a password manager, so I felt I should try a password manager as well. I want to go the whole nine yards though. I want an immersive experience to REALLY get a feel of whether or not I will use a password manager, so I want to change everything, including my google password and Microsoft password, and let my password manager handle keeping them.
However, my Microsoft password is linked to my PC, so my computer password changes when my Microsoft account password changes. If I change it to some randomly generated strong password I would not remember it and would depend entirely on the password manager, which is why I want to know if there is a portable application that can log into my PC for me as well.
Also, my google account is linked to my phone, and it keeps record of my call history, text messages, and contacts. These are things I want to be retained whenever I get a new phone, factory reset my current phone, or clean install a custom ROM, so is there a password manager that handles this as well? The problem with apps is the fact that we need Google Play Store to download and install them officially, and we need a google account to access Google Play Store. I know that I can sideload an apk from my computer to my phone, but let's say I get a new phone at Best Buy and just CAN'T wait to get home and start using it. When I boot up it'll ask for my Google account so it can restore my contacts at the very least, but I'd be dependent on my password manager and will not be able to login without it. Is there something I can do that will allow me to login immediately upon turning on this shiny new device?
I've tried Dashlane, they don't have a remedy for the things above, and it seems like most password managers do not. On top of Dashlane's android overlay doesn't pop up when adding a google account, whether it just be for gmail or other google services. I am pretty sure that my request is a stretch, and if so, I'll probably just continue to manually type in my own passwords, but I figured I'd ask and see if anyone knew of an app that might do what I want or is migrating in that direction.
Thanks,
Weilun

Allow multiple users to access apps

I picked up a Kinzo Ichi A5Ql cheap on Amazon for my new home phone for my kids to use. This is running Android 6.0 and I do not have root access. I have been unable to find a guide on here on rooting it. If someone can point me in that direction, that would be great.
I have set myself up as the primary user and my kids as just a user. I have a separate gmail account for them. If I download an app from the play store on on my user it does not allow the other users to access it even though it is the same gmail account. I wish to change this. I don't want to have to download apps twice. For example, if I download Cardboard I want them to be able to access so I used the kids gmail account. Their user still does not have access the app unless I redownload it.

Back up android data (on old/current phone) w/o logging in to google acct on old phone

I need to know is there any way/app/program that I can back up ALL of my stuff on my Motorola g6 Play, without having to specifically use google or my google acct in any way, so I can transfer to my new Motorola G Power...
Backstory & Details quick history...
Jan 2022 my google acct was hacked. Google never sent me notification until after they had already changed my recovery info & put 2-factor, etc. I have tried EVERY thing I've came across to possibly work, to no avail. Google made it very clear they care less if ppl w/an acct 10+ years, who can verify every single detail abbout their acct, get hacked or not, even when there is online visa card $ sitting in the email folders. In fact they roll out the red carpet for the foreigner hackers (apparently wasnt too pro because the hacker forgot to sign me out of all browsers. I jumped on my 2nd pc browser, accessed acct for a few minutes including have a screenshot of what they used as a verification phone, in isreal, the recovery email they changed it to, & more. However when I tried to change my recovery info back, it wanted my new password. About 3 hours later they realized & logged me out.) & dont care to let you into your acct. [sorry for rant - touchy subject, lol]
I never put another google acct on the phone, I just cant sign in my google anywhere. My data is apparently saved locally, because its still on phone just as always.
I just got a new motorola g power for Christmas. Of course since I still havent regained access to my original acct, I know I'll have to use another acct to set it up. HOWEVER, I desperately need to save/transfer all my data from my current phone (with the non-accessible hacked acct) to new one. Obviously cant backup to anything that makes me login my acct such as my google drive, etc.
Is there ANY program or app that would backup everything, & then let me restore it on my new phone w/new google acct???

Without root and an external SD card....no. Apps such as Swift Backup or TItanium Backup can back up all user apps, but because of SELinux and scoped storage, what data a particular app can access is very limited - only certain system data (call logs, texts, etc) and common data (internal/external storage) is accessible; an app cannot access other apps' private information.
The only way to get around this is root.
However, you may be able to login to a new Google account on your existing phone, log out of the old one, and set the new account to be used for sync; once your information is backed up to the new account, you can then login on the new device, and transfer most of your data.
Keep in mind that this still won't transfer app data - while it will restore the apps you have installed, it can't transfer app data from the old phone.
