Looks so promising cause it brings Flipboard like qualities to Android, but there's no lover for my Transformer.
Can't post link to app on Marketplace yet cause i don't have enough posts, but search for Google Currents and it should be there to find.
P.S. didn't see any topic on this here...
Edit: found out that this is for US residents only right now, so that could explain why I can't install it.

see the link for a link to the apk.
not tried it on the transformer yet, but its working on my Samsung Galaxy S2, apparently the app works on all devices...?
I love this app it's brilliant. I was looking for something like that for ages.

It's a really nice app. My only wish is that it has the same amount of sources that Pulse has. But knowing Google, it's only a matter of time.
Definitely a to-be alternative to Pulse.

I was wondering if there would ever be an XDA application available to android on the market. Seems like it would be pretty sweet.
Anyone else think so?
Any developers out there that would like to give this a go?
well umm, its an alright idea, but since i own a nexus, browsing http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=556 is rather easy and fast with even low 3g signal
I understand its available to view on the nexus, I have one and it does do a good job for viewing. Just thought a native app would be nice to have.
It actually came out, Congrats to XDA for this milestone
yea i just downloaded it earlier this morning
its great in concept but it takes way to long to load the thread lists.
http://www.xda-developers.com/announcements/official-xda-developers-android-app-released-today/
i am typing on the official xda app right now and it works much faster to ne on my n1 than going through the browser. its funny how android got a workable official app before winmo did

yea I saw it on a Sig searched xda on the market and now I'm a happy camper. typing from the xda app right now
Never mind.. I was stupid for a second there.

This right here is the only reason I will not use this app. I don't need everyone knowing that I used the app to post on the site. Obviously if I posted I know about the website, and the only reason someone would use the app is if they liked xda developers, or simply wanted to post here.
So why do we need the extra notification, legal purposes? Advertisement? Credit?

Oh my gawd.. sorry for such harsh complaining without investigating. Now I will use the app, lol.
ya, i turned my off
I don't think I see the point to this. Wouldn't a mobile version of the webpage be enough for this? I certainly wouldn't want a separate app for every forum I visit.
Excellent. Worth downloading.
Wow, very nice app !!

you didn't rate the app on the marketplace before figuring this out, did you?
Is there any way to make it so that when you tap the Forums tab, that it goes to the Nexus One forum by default so we don't have to scroll through the list to find it?

My only complaint so far. I only every read the N1 stuff.
Same here..that and the text could be formatted better.
Okay, so.... Apparently, Google purchased this startup.

So what's up... !?
Did they acquire this so as to use it in a future release?
I, for one... Would LOVE to have such an immersive launcher.
Thoughts?
I remember this. Bumptop was pretty cool. I was excited to see it show up in one of Google's products but am disappointed to not see it anywhere yet. It would be a shame if they gobbled it up to never even use the tech.
Same thing goes for Blindtype.

That's what I wonder... Google has acquired many cool startups; never to be seen again.
The other really cool one was "TAT Home" ... It was acquired by RIM. :-/
Maybe some features will be included in Icecream sandwhich ?
Those two apps are really attractive. Seriously where I can get them. Are you sure there is no way? Thanks.

It's amazing that google effort into making such a nice news app, but yet somehow forgot a widget.
Would this be something extremely difficult to make?
It seems crazy to me that they would have a widget for Reader but not Currents.

This is the #1 reason why I don't use currents anymore. That and when I used it, if the Web article you were reading had multiple pictures, the app read them as separate pages. So a 3-4 page article turned into a 50-60 article.

+1
I can't believe they don't have a widget for this otherwise awesome news aggregator. All their major competition has some sort of widget...even something like google genie would be better than nothing...of course scrollable would be preferred.
What's the deal, Google?
As the title specifies I'm really annoyed that Google gave iOS a better search than us on ICS. They basically gave them the search of JellyBean (minus the Google Now). What the hell?!

You answered yourself right there. We have Google Now, they don't. Why would they make the exactly same search app for Android when Jellybean has it. I also understand that its not there for Android, but what happened to downloading that flashable package that you can just flash to get GNow? iOS doesn't have that now do they...
Just my opinion

Google doesn't make very much money from Android itself; it's mostly for revenue from the Play Store and the data/advertising that they pull from mobile users.
Google needs excellence in a bottle to get iPhone users to use their apps over Apple Maps and Siri search (which is why the iOS Google Maps looks better than Android).
Give them time; if you haven't noticed they're revamping everything. Gmail, Offers, Currents, Play Store, Google Music; they're finetuning everything. Don't get butthurt so quickly.

Second this! People take everything so personally. Google makes a lot of money off of people using their products on iOS devices. They'd be stupid to provide a less-than-exemplary experience, even in a competing ecosystem.
Google now is still better than the search on the iPhone. But I must say that chrome is a lot better on the iPhone.

It's not; because Apple doesn't allow Apps to really do their own thing on the phone - Google Chrome for iPhone is essentially Safari with a Skin over it
I'm a little confused by this rant. Google now is extremely powerful if you know what you are doing and its only getting better.

Ah OK I see the ICS now, but still I don't get the point of this rant or why its here. It has nothing to do with the skyrocket and honestly I don't get what the op wants. Root the phone run any number of jb ROMs including a leak firmware. This thread really provides nothing to the community.

Before me? I don't think so!
'Swyped' from my GT-N7100
one advantage ive noticed with google keep over evernote so far after a few mins is the integration it has with google now just press the google now button and say "note to self..." and say something that you want to remember for later" it stores in the app.
this app for now has def replaced my evernote and any.do will see how well it lasts over time, I took all my notes and such from evernote already imported into google keep thanks to the website, and will test google keeps check boxes to fully replace any.do which is a cool app for a shopping list or honey do's that me and my wife used alot, hoping it goes well and will replace evernote and any.do from my daily usage.
and jujuburi you are correct seems u were the first one to post it if time stamps are accurate.
Mine FCs on launch.

Its not bad, I wish they had folders to organize a little better. Other then that work pretty good.

maybe they thought folders would clutter the app/look/feel of the app. seems like they aimed for it to be minimalistic which it sure is.
