I don't use any data or speak any language but English. I have no need for stock apps such as HTC likes or HTC hub. Some of the widgets are just plain strange to me and I find them unnessessary. How do I delete things like that?

You have a few options freind. the easiest would be titanium backup but the most thorough would be Ron cleaner script to be flashed. I used it once but had to go back it actually got rid of too many things. Have to make my own script then ill flash it.
Try it out you will like it
You mean ROM cleaner?

Yes sorry auto correct sucks sometimes lol
If you're rooted & S-OFF you could try AntTek App manager, it let's you uninstall user and system apps, so just look through the list and remove any bloatware. Don't forget to backup first though.
Do a market search for bloat freezer. It gives you Titanium Backup Pro's freeze feature for free. It lets you remove it without actually removing it, just incase you need it down the road. It's either bloatware freezer or bloat freezer.
Boat freezer, I use it all the time

It's called Bloat/CIQ * Freezer - Free in the market. Great app.

I do like the idea behind it. I installed it and gave it a go only to find there's nothing I need to freeze! I used ROM cleaner when I installed ARHD.
Swyped from my HTC Sensation using xda premium.
If you're rooted, download Root Manager and browse to
/system/app
you can delete the .apk files from there (only things you're sure about!)
Make sure you do a nandroid backup first.

Titanium backup will do the job.
Or root explorer
If you just want to remove some bloatware, then look into doing a temp root and using Titanium to freeze the bloatware.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1161283
If you are looking into using a custom ROM as well, then youll want to use the revolutionary tool to gain S-OFF and then flash a ROM.
Many people have chosen to just temp root and freeze some bloat. That is the easiest path to take, with the least risk
Matt
Is there neway to remove the task manager from ne ROM because from what I understand it takes up more RAM than Its worth..thanx

If your phone is rooted download anttek app manager from the market and you can delete any apps you don't want.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA App
Thanks for the suggestion...I downloaded the app nd deleted the task manager..although it fc's wen I try to go into task manager it is still in quick settings..nd seems to still register the free RAM..so apparently I've only gotten rid of it on an application layer..my goal is to completely remove it because I still believe it is eating unnecessary RAM..cool app tho nd thanks..hope someone can help

The Android OS does not work like a desktop OS.
The Android OS automatically removes programs from memory as it is nedeed.
Having lots of available empty memory is not a good thing. It takes the same amount of power to hold "nothing" in memory.
Don't use task killers.
Sorry about that you need root explorer to delete it completely.

You need to root your phone to either freeze the apps via Titanium or by ViperBloat
Rooting your phone is really a good thing to do as it open your phone to changing, modifying and adding certain apps

Jhobert, I advise you to read and get very familiar with the process as it could brick your phone. Brick means that it won't work at all no matter what you do.
Just wanted to warn you and advise you to do a lot of reading.

I would suggest downloading and flashing one of the NO-SENSE scripts in the Dev section or using ViperBloat to remove all the uneeded bloatware!

Can you UNINSTALL the bloatware apps or will that mess things up?
Also, where is ViperBloat? I am searching the dev forums but don't see it, unless it is a very old thread.

Here you go, it call Vipermod
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1167420&highlight=vipermod
Hey guys,
I just received my Sensation 4G a few days ago, as a warranty replacement for my HTC G2. I have enjoyed the phone, but now I want a little better performance. I am currently rooted(perma) with S-OFF. (used Revolutionary). Stock 2.3.4 ROM
I have removed the TMO crap (mall, apps, telenav, teeter, Slacker, Qik, etc). I downloaded ROOT Browser from the market, went to SYSTEM/APP and selected Lookout, then Delete. Same process I did for every other app/bloatware I removed. But Lookout is still showing in my app drawer. Any ideas on what im missing?
Thanks everyone
Hmmm I have yet to see this added on my phone or a Rom idk
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using xda premium
Turns out some of the app icons are still in my drawer. Nova is gone , but slacker is still there. Weird

Maybe your phone was reset vs ruu at HTC or wherever they refreb them
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using xda premium
It came brand new. In box, sealed, headphones etc etc. Very very unlikely its a refurb.
Not sure why some bloat deletes and some doesn't
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using xda premium
Check out /data/app and see if it is in there too
Sent from my Sensation in UrQuan subspace
Hmmm idk lol but that's a third party app all I know ruu with one I posted and format sdcard

I suggest using RootExplorer or ES File Explorer (in root mode). Go to the top level directory (where you see /System, /Data, /SDCard, etc and touch the search button. Type lookout and see what the search comes up with. It should help you find it.
If 'Lookout' Had been granted Device Administrator then it cannot be uninstalled from the phone until this option is unchecked. Or a factory reset in recovery.
This could maybe be the issue ??
Lookout did not have administrator privilege.
I restored a backup of my original software. So everything is back to stock (rooted w/ S-Off).
So how can I remove bloat WITHOUT using a BAT or adb commands ?
I assume I can use RootExplorer , go to /System/App and select said bloatware and then select Uninstall.
Is there an official list of safe bloatware to remove? (Nova, teeter, tmo mall, qik, etc etc)
Many thanks !

I would suggest using a custom ROM like Android Revolution HD...they already removed the bloatware in their ROMs and stripped it down to just essentials. It is still using the Sense framework too, so you know it has good compatibility with your device...otherwise, copy down the list of files in your /system/app directory, post it here, and I will tell you what you can safely get rid of.
Just remember that, if you decide to flash the android 4/ICS version of Android Revolution, you MUST have SuperCID and flashed updated ICS firmware or it will NOT boot
You could try ROM cleaner it's in the themes and apps section.
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio using XDA
Thanks guy's, I guess I will just use ROMcleaner. I'm not flashing any custom ROMs until the official TMO ics update comes out.
Thanks again

Howdy all,
Is there a way to save what i see on my sensations screen when i change or update the rom? i like to change roms periodically and it would be nice to easily save what I see to a new rom. on the pc i mean the "desktop" but what is it called on android?
thank you in advance!
You can take a 'screenshot' of whatever is on you screen.
Press 'vol down'+'pwr' together, for some 2 seconds and a "screenshot animation" should appear.

Just use DeskMigrate and/or titanium backup.
Download the apps from play store. Using titanium backup you can backup the current launcher (backup the data too). After flashing another rom install titanium backup again and restore the launcher. If you want all od the icons on another launcher just use deskmigrate app

Remember though, if your ROM changes base, or you're switching ROM's, restoring data from titanium can have unpredictable results. Most likely launcher fc's or random reboots.
Periodic ROM updates (ie, goin from ARHD 6.x.x to 6.x.y) should be no issue.
