[Q] Dead bootloader HTC Sensation - HTC Sensation

Hi, my HTS Sensation is not switching on, not entering bootloader
i think that bootloader the fell off, is it possible restore dead bootloader if phone not turn on? is there any manual how to unbrick device?
thanks for help!

Did the let the battery die all the way by any chance?
If so, the battery is too low and I believe certain recoveries don't charge the phone (it's a bug). If you let it die all the way, take an old charger with a comparable output voltage and rip the end off that goes into the phone. There are gonna be two wires, red and black. Take the red and attach it to the + Terminal on the battery, and the black goes to the - Terminal. Do this for maybe 15 to 20 minutes, and that'll charge the battery - hopefully enough to turn the phone on. Do this with the battery out of the phone and make sure the wires never touch or cross. There are four terminals on the battery, the inner two shouldn't be touched, ever.
Again, only do this if you happened to let the battery die completely, as it's semi risky and making a mistake can damage the battery.

Try this:
1. Unplug battery and put it back try to boot in bootloader mode if that didn't work.
2. plug the USB cable in and hook it with the computer and try to boot it. If your computer show up some device found but is not show as normal android usb or sensation. most likely your sensation got hardware damage. If that happened try to contact HTC and ask for repair service.
I got similar issue before (rooted and s-off then sh1t my device during flash the rom) I send back to HTC and they repaired and send it back to me only shipping fee charged.

the battery is full, but the phone doesn't respond... the bootloader not run anymore
I have no guarantee, and I don't know where is service center HTC

Do as Johnsonyc said, remove your battery, reinsert it, and try to boot it up. If not, ship it to an HTC center and they should take care of it.

Did you do anything to cause this or did it just happen out of nowhere?
One trick you can try is to pull the battery, put it back in, insert a usb cable, hold volume down, then plug the usb into a comp. Sometimes that will get it to boot up.

Thanks for all.... but you don't understand?! I did everything 100 times .... do you know what is a bootloader? it (boot up) does not exist... just bricks
There are two solutions: 1)- send to a service center (pls. not offered).
2)- flash the bootloader - if anyone knows how to do it, please write.
thank you

Cool down sunshine. I don't believe we can flash the bootloader. Just send it in to HTC, they'll take care of it.

oh... it seems I'm sunk ... I live abroad and bought it on eBay :'(

HELP!!!Impossible to charge the battery, permanent RED Led

As i said on the title, suddenly i couldn't recharge my Universal anymore, yes i've tried with a brend new official battery as well but everything was in vain.As soon as i plug my charge to my Universal it appear a Red Led and after 3 min or so the led turn off and so the battery.
How can i fix this problem?!
Is there any chance?!
Is it really dead like that?!
Please HHHHHHHEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If the battery is really brand new, then I guess the connectors might be damaged or the internal power buses might be broken somewhere. Have you dropped your device recently? Or did anything that might explain broken connectors or internal buses?
Nothing happened to my device and never felt down,it just happened suddenly! Now if i won't be able to fix this by myself this means a finger in da a.. cuz my warranty is expired!DAAAAAAAAMN

It can be a software error. Have you tried hard resetting or installing another ROM?

Your battery is fine, unfortunately your device broke
Unless you have a lot of specialized equipment at home, and the proper qualifications, there's no way in hell you can fix this. I'm sticking with my diagnosis, that either the power routing circuit broke down, or a power bus inside the device.
Really, your best off taking it back to the store, and paying for the repair. Either that, or buying a new phone, and selling this one for spares...
Sorry mate...

What a terrible news!I can't believe it!!!!
If i'll bring my phone to the assistant i'm gonna pay alot of money,at least 200.00 euro!!!!
similar problem
i had the exact same thing happen to my EXEC when i got 2 new batteries for it. One was a standard sized, pretty much the same as the stock one that came with the phone and one was a much larger capacity one that needs an extra cover for the back.
Id been using the device for ages on this huge battery and the charge said 100% constantly. then the device turned itself off and it wouldnt come back on. upon connecting the charger the LED was red, so i thought the battery was dead. I left it on charge over night and when i tried again the next morning it was fine.
this happens everytime with this battery, it just needs a much longer charge than the standard one, and doesnt register properly on the default OS, i havent tried it on my recent upgrade to one of the midget roms.
so try leaving it on charge over night or for a very long time. if all else fails just get a new battery.
That might reset the battery back to life, but I wouldn't exactly count on that. A battery with a broken monitor circuitry is pretty hard to reset.
My last hope,i'm gonna leave charging my phone for a day and then see what happend....I'm desperate
Permanent red light...
I had this problem, I put the phone on charge but forgot to put a battery in - spare phone... It wouldn't work no matter what I did , until I reformatted the DOC by following the steps in the WIKI.

Could u post it please?!
Took a while but here it is...
I did the task 28 55aa command in MTTY which should reformat the DOC alternatively you could reload the bootloader using the link below...
MTTY with "task 28 55aa", "set 14 0", "set 14 9, "set 14 10" and "set 14 20" as described. bootloader screen may be replaced with a blank one, boot it on bootloader mode by "Backlight+Power+Reset"
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Universal_Resets
now upgrade as usual.
If you stuck on the bootloader again after upgrading, try to upgrade the bootloader itself go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1255206&postcount=52

If anyone knows how can i revive my jasjar pls pls let us know....Thank you so much.

Exactly if my Jasjar is completely dead how can i connect via usb and then use mtty?!
I'm losing my hope to bring it back to live!
have same problem - can do nothing, still waiting
but there is one thing - led flashes once, when i put the charger into the device - but it does nor light, nor flashes - exactly nothing happens
If your device is dead...
Well just to answer the question, if the battery is dead and you can't charge it because of a red LED. I suggest you buy a standalone charger from ebay and charge the battery or get someone else to charge it for you. Then follow the steps as I stated in my previous post...

The point is that the device is dead and that is why the constant red light. I have a device that is stuck on the splash screen (no solution in sight) and another that fell down and broke. The one that fell down does not power on. If you put a charged battery ang plug in the charger nothing happens, no light comes on, but if you put a discharged battery the red light comes on. I have a third Uni that I accidentally flashed with a BA rom. It is behaving exactly like the broken uni, it does not turn on, does not go into bootloader and the red light comes on when I plug in the charger with a discharged battery in it.
For some things, there's just no cure...
Okay I understand where you're coming from but essentially what you need to do, under normal circumstances, is connect it to your PC, which if the device is working at all the PC will detect it but not connect... In the case of two of your Uni's I don't think this will help - the dropped one and the BA ROM failure. The one with the Red LED, which has stopped working could be a component failure on the board or it could be a Corrupt DOC table. Now to get back to how you'd go about fixing it if it is a corrupt DOC table, when you connect it to the PC and the PC detects it you disable ActiveSync and start MTTY it should give you the option of connecting to the USB port, when it does this if you get a prompt the problem should be fixable because MTTY can "talk" to the device... As for the other's try this method and if it doesn't work sell them for parts or canabalise the one for parts for the other...

BIG WEIRD Fuze problem PLZ Help

Ok people let me tell you i love my fuze and i have followed all directions to updating my rom and i had a nice new cooked rom and everything was running fine until one day i go and take my phone off the charger and it turns off as if it had no power from the battery so then i try to turn it back on and still nothing :O "Sad FacE" then after staring at my phone for 20 minutes in complete disbeleive i started being creative starting with a soft reset to a hard reset , also take note when i put my phone back on the charger the light that breathes no longer came on, then i got my phone to boot to hard-spl olinox 1.90 and it said no boot image and sat there so then i turn the phone off and did a rom update thru my hard spl after updating the phone went to reset but only turned off and the only thing i can pull up is hard spl. plz help it would be so so so much appreciated and im not slow at computers so u wont have to explain everything to me i do programming but never cooked a rom or delt with this
Sounds like you may have a hardware problem; maybe there was a power surge or something and part of the phone got fried. Just a guess, but sorry, man. Could it have gotten wet somehow?
I guess the other possibility is that the battery is just completely dead. You can get into bootloader without a battery (pull the battery, plug it in, and you'll see). You can even flash, but you can't boot up. Try cleaning the contacts, and make sure they're contacting the battery electrodes. Now that I think about it more, I bet it's just the battery, or it's related to the battery (maybe the usb port is screwed). If this fails, go buy a cheap battery for the phone and try it out. If that doesn't work, just flash the stock rom and then the stock spl and return it for warranty. All isn't lost.
Thnx
ok thank you for you're reply. the battery is good i can flash rom off my micro sd card with out power source to phone also the phone had dropped about a foot from the ground onto carpet the same time i started having this problem im wondering if somethen is loose idk. im figuren if the phone can boot olinex on its own then it is still working as in the screen has full fuction as far as i know all buttons work, as i was looking into this phone im wondering if the thing that stops ur phone from charging and turning on when its over heating might be damaged. there is no warranty so im tryen to look into this as much as possible
GOOD NEWS
Ok I have no idea what was wrong with my phone but i found a htc service manual and disassembled my phone then put it back together and hoped for the best and press the power button and boom wala it came on to the at&t flash logo and problem solved all help was appreciated and i hope to help other peeps out as well and cooking up some roms eventualy

Charge phone in fastboot or in bootloop?

Hello,
My friend's phone got stuck in a bootloop (HTC logo). I want to try and fix this by installing an official RUU. However, I get the warning that the battery is too low (below 30%). How can I charge it? I believe you cannot charge your phone while in fastboot mode and when I power of the phone and plug the wall charger in, the phone automatically powers on into the bootloop. How can I make shure that the phone is charging? I don't think it will charge enough in the bootloop...
The phone is not rooted and has S-On
thanks,
Amigo
If the phone is in warranty n If u say the phone is not rooted n is s-on take the phone to nearest HTC care centre.... They vll fix it up
If I hve helped you press the thanks button ...
sent from HTC sensation
I understand, but I first want to try it myself before the Phone is gone for three weeks

Not recommended to update to official ics, bugs that u can only fix by rooting your phone(void your warranty).
If it is still under warranty you might as well sent it back.
ps : Removing the battery can harm the phone's emmc chip = bricked phone.
a stand alone wall charger could do the trick. but...as suggested by the folks, might as well let htc do their job and fix it for you
In fastboot mode or Just in the bootloop?
Turn it off and charge it

Then it will automatically turn on into bootloop
Turn it off after you connect

[Q] Phone dead, but the problem is not the battery

Last night I changed the SIM of my Nexus S, put back the battery but did not close the phone with its battery cover since I was going to change the SIM again soon after. I turned the phone on, but the battery fell down and obviously the phone turned off. However, when I tried to put the battery back and turned on the phone, it did not. The phone seems dead and I'm pretty sure the problem is not the battery as it has always been working fine. Any help?

No charging animation right? Same here. it seems we have bricked our phones beyond repair.
Cache?
I am not too sure if this would work but try these steps however this will only work if you phone is rooted (ONLY UP TILL STEP 5, AFTER STEP 5 ROOT WILL BE NEEDED):
1) Pull of the back cover of the phone and then plug it into the computer via a usb cable
2) Hold down the power button for 15 seconds, in some lucky chances the phone may turn on if not continue to step 3
3) Pull out the battery but keep the usb plugged in DO NOT UNPLUG
4) Now hold down the power button for a further 15 seconds, in some lucky chances the phone may turn on if not continue to step 5
5) After this unplug the phone from the usb, reinsert the battery IF YOUR PHONE IS ROOTED attempt to turn it on but holding the volume UP button and the power button then navigate to the recovery section from here clear your cache then attempt to turn your phone on. IF YOU PHONE IS NOT ROOTED you can only try and turn it on the normal way (by holding down the power button).
Hope this works for you.
mine too, pulled off battery after it hang, and now it can't be turn on.

JUST STOP !!!
My phone is getting scared..
Do you know how many times i've just pulled the battery when it hangs, or I was stupid and didn't have on the back cover, or it Was wednesday and I was bored?.. Here my phone is, all in a panic, and I'm afraid to pull it's battery to ease the pain of it being frozen, or pull it's battery when it gets sick with a bootlooping bug.. How am I supposed to pull the battery when my hands are shaking and my mind is telling me NO, but my heart just wants to help?? How am I supposed to look my phone in the camera and say, "I can't help you"??
I just can't do it,..
I just can't..

This sh1t happen to me last night, from my research the emmc is bricked the phone needs a new emmc or a repair using a tool like riff box or an external programmer of a kind.
The cost for this operation is really high i will try to do it with a simple smd work station and see how it goes
@mimimouchi if u don't have warranty, u will have to pay a huge amount to fix the phone which doesn't worth it if u take into consideration the current price and age of the phone
Why this happen on samsung mobiles ? is this company going down ? ffs

From my research, people which pull the battery during boot have a dead/bricked or whatever, emmc. Your first bet is the unbrickable mod if u have the soldering skills and the proper tools, after u apply the mod and u can't flash the phone ur emmc crapped and u need to replace it with a new one, u will need an smd station to remove the chip and solder the new one.
The cost of the operation is around 100$, another option is to try and find a new motherboard from a user / broken whatever nexus still at the price range of 100$++
My opinion ? ur phone is dead blame samsung for this **** and go buy a new one without samsung parts ....

If ur battery fell during the boot sequence then ur emmc is bricked, and u need to replace it ther is no mod to fix this nor jtag can fix it, if u have experience with smd soldering desoldering reballing reflowing etc etc then u can fix it urself
The cost for this will run around 100euros depends on the shop and the method that they will use to solder the new chip
You can ask local technicians how much they charge for something like this, my opinion is that if they want more than 50euros ur better off buying a newer phone

no cause ur phone acts completely dead 99% when a nexus s can't give a signal of life (despite battery heating when u plug the charger) it's an emmc brick which can be resolved only if u replace the actual chip all the emmc bricks happen when the battery is removed during boot / shutdown and rarely when the phone is already running android
But if u want to be 100% sure the only cheap solution IF U HAVE THE EXPERIENCE is to perform the unbrickable mod, which requires to remove a resistor on the motherboard and bridge 2 pads, then ur phone will be detected and if u can't flash a rom in this stage then u need to replace the emmc
As for me i'm sure that ur phone has an emmc brick, a nexus s that acts dead, no vibration, no lights, no nothing, except heating when u plug the charger indicates a hardware failure
You have 2 solutions bring it to a shop or fix it urself if u can ... nothing can be done with software at this point that's my opinion

[Q] QHUSB_DLOAD: How to unbrick ?

I have bricked my phone while flashing RUU. My phone didn't restart after flash. It doesn't charge and also doesn't respond to long press key combination.
Now when I connect to computer the driver doesn't get installed. Error is "QHUSB_Dload missing".
I found that it is a Qualcomm driver used to identify the CPU serial number and establish any communication with my phone.
How do I unbrick ?
Do I need the JTAG method ?
Can a HTC service center fix this ?
Hi, sounds like a problem i encountered
after hours of digging and end up with not much..i put up a trick that actually worked for me(over and over again for me,cos my H0s keep entering qhsusb_dload mode each time i restart my phone.
u have to take apart your phone, get a torx T5 and a philips screwdriver(search or see at youtube how to take apart your phone.
just take apart the back cover to reveal the mainboard
-disconnect the battery
-connect the phone to charger(charger, not pc/usb)
-keep an eye on the notification led, it will light up(orange) for a couple of seconds after u connect it to charger, then went off
-after the notification led went off, reconnect the battery and pull off the charger from phone.
-(dont reassembly the phone yet)press the power button a few times to see if it will boot, or you can hold the power button for a 10 second.
-in my case,at this point the phone should be booting, but to a bootloop.
-i suggest you enter the recovery when it boots up and do a full wipe.
Try it,do tell me the result please, i hope it will help and do it safely, carefully because anything that happens, i ain't gonna be your warranty desk

I guess this method assumes that the battery has some charge left. Mine doesn't. I tried no result :crying:
I dont think it matters..when you are flashing the ruu how much juice you got left? if u start flashing when the battery is around 100% im sure there should be enough charge to at least turn the phone on..can you tell me more why it didnt work for you? what you went through?
