Ok people let me tell you i love my fuze and i have followed all directions to updating my rom and i had a nice new cooked rom and everything was running fine until one day i go and take my phone off the charger and it turns off as if it had no power from the battery so then i try to turn it back on and still nothing :O "Sad FacE" then after staring at my phone for 20 minutes in complete disbeleive i started being creative starting with a soft reset to a hard reset , also take note when i put my phone back on the charger the light that breathes no longer came on, then i got my phone to boot to hard-spl olinox 1.90 and it said no boot image and sat there so then i turn the phone off and did a rom update thru my hard spl after updating the phone went to reset but only turned off and the only thing i can pull up is hard spl. plz help it would be so so so much appreciated and im not slow at computers so u wont have to explain everything to me i do programming but never cooked a rom or delt with this
Sounds like you may have a hardware problem; maybe there was a power surge or something and part of the phone got fried. Just a guess, but sorry, man. Could it have gotten wet somehow?
I guess the other possibility is that the battery is just completely dead. You can get into bootloader without a battery (pull the battery, plug it in, and you'll see). You can even flash, but you can't boot up. Try cleaning the contacts, and make sure they're contacting the battery electrodes. Now that I think about it more, I bet it's just the battery, or it's related to the battery (maybe the usb port is screwed). If this fails, go buy a cheap battery for the phone and try it out. If that doesn't work, just flash the stock rom and then the stock spl and return it for warranty. All isn't lost.
Thnx
ok thank you for you're reply. the battery is good i can flash rom off my micro sd card with out power source to phone also the phone had dropped about a foot from the ground onto carpet the same time i started having this problem im wondering if somethen is loose idk. im figuren if the phone can boot olinex on its own then it is still working as in the screen has full fuction as far as i know all buttons work, as i was looking into this phone im wondering if the thing that stops ur phone from charging and turning on when its over heating might be damaged. there is no warranty so im tryen to look into this as much as possible
GOOD NEWS
Ok I have no idea what was wrong with my phone but i found a htc service manual and disassembled my phone then put it back together and hoped for the best and press the power button and boom wala it came on to the at&t flash logo and problem solved all help was appreciated and i hope to help other peeps out as well and cooking up some roms eventualy

hi guys...
i have this problem... i think i've flashed my mini too many times or something, my last flash was WWE_11200_550_11200... and it went flat liner, dead.... totally... can't on it now, can't bring it to boot loader or what so ever... is there any method to bring it back to life? pls help...
there's no led appearing when i'm charging... but when i removed the battery cover, the led turns red... that happens also when i remove the battery and put the back cover back on...
man... am i screwed or what...
Assuming you have tried leaving out the battery over night, etc, etc- Your device will need to be sent to the service center.
Had the same thing happen to me back in July- I think the bootloader was corrupted.
I replied to a similar problem only a few days ago.
i think you're right... so is there anyway i can fix the bootloader?
I'm not aware of any utility available to public for repairing the Magician bootloader.
I think there is one for the Blue Angel- I tried that one in vain but no joy.
As long as your device is in warranty, you shouldn't have much of a problem.
thanks man... i guess have no other choice but to send it back...
cheers..
I have have had this happen to me twice now,
left the battery out for 5-6 hours then re-inserted it (with the back cover on, m500 has a quirky switch that the cover pushes down) and then held the buttons down to place it into bootloader mode (held down until it appeared)
good luck
Imp
pls give me more details... cos if i'm sending it back for repair, i will need to post it oversea... that will be my last resort...
im having the same problem..
as far as i can tell the battery is just completely flat..
however without a working ROM the unit will not charge the battery..
thats what i believe anyways

Might be cheaper to purchase a battery, perhaps it comes charged?
As i said on the title, suddenly i couldn't recharge my Universal anymore, yes i've tried with a brend new official battery as well but everything was in vain.As soon as i plug my charge to my Universal it appear a Red Led and after 3 min or so the led turn off and so the battery.
How can i fix this problem?!
Is there any chance?!
Is it really dead like that?!
Please HHHHHHHEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If the battery is really brand new, then I guess the connectors might be damaged or the internal power buses might be broken somewhere. Have you dropped your device recently? Or did anything that might explain broken connectors or internal buses?
Nothing happened to my device and never felt down,it just happened suddenly! Now if i won't be able to fix this by myself this means a finger in da a.. cuz my warranty is expired!DAAAAAAAAMN

Your battery is fine, unfortunately your device broke
Unless you have a lot of specialized equipment at home, and the proper qualifications, there's no way in hell you can fix this. I'm sticking with my diagnosis, that either the power routing circuit broke down, or a power bus inside the device.
Really, your best off taking it back to the store, and paying for the repair. Either that, or buying a new phone, and selling this one for spares...
Sorry mate...

What a terrible news!I can't believe it!!!!
If i'll bring my phone to the assistant i'm gonna pay alot of money,at least 200.00 euro!!!!
similar problem
i had the exact same thing happen to my EXEC when i got 2 new batteries for it. One was a standard sized, pretty much the same as the stock one that came with the phone and one was a much larger capacity one that needs an extra cover for the back.
Id been using the device for ages on this huge battery and the charge said 100% constantly. then the device turned itself off and it wouldnt come back on. upon connecting the charger the LED was red, so i thought the battery was dead. I left it on charge over night and when i tried again the next morning it was fine.
this happens everytime with this battery, it just needs a much longer charge than the standard one, and doesnt register properly on the default OS, i havent tried it on my recent upgrade to one of the midget roms.
so try leaving it on charge over night or for a very long time. if all else fails just get a new battery.
That might reset the battery back to life, but I wouldn't exactly count on that. A battery with a broken monitor circuitry is pretty hard to reset.
My last hope,i'm gonna leave charging my phone for a day and then see what happend....I'm desperate
Permanent red light...
I had this problem, I put the phone on charge but forgot to put a battery in - spare phone... It wouldn't work no matter what I did , until I reformatted the DOC by following the steps in the WIKI.

Could u post it please?!
Took a while but here it is...
I did the task 28 55aa command in MTTY which should reformat the DOC alternatively you could reload the bootloader using the link below...
MTTY with "task 28 55aa", "set 14 0", "set 14 9, "set 14 10" and "set 14 20" as described. bootloader screen may be replaced with a blank one, boot it on bootloader mode by "Backlight+Power+Reset"
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Universal_Resets
now upgrade as usual.
If you stuck on the bootloader again after upgrading, try to upgrade the bootloader itself go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1255206&postcount=52

If anyone knows how can i revive my jasjar pls pls let us know....Thank you so much.

Exactly if my Jasjar is completely dead how can i connect via usb and then use mtty?!
I'm losing my hope to bring it back to live!
have same problem - can do nothing, still waiting
but there is one thing - led flashes once, when i put the charger into the device - but it does nor light, nor flashes - exactly nothing happens
If your device is dead...
Well just to answer the question, if the battery is dead and you can't charge it because of a red LED. I suggest you buy a standalone charger from ebay and charge the battery or get someone else to charge it for you. Then follow the steps as I stated in my previous post...

The point is that the device is dead and that is why the constant red light. I have a device that is stuck on the splash screen (no solution in sight) and another that fell down and broke. The one that fell down does not power on. If you put a charged battery ang plug in the charger nothing happens, no light comes on, but if you put a discharged battery the red light comes on. I have a third Uni that I accidentally flashed with a BA rom. It is behaving exactly like the broken uni, it does not turn on, does not go into bootloader and the red light comes on when I plug in the charger with a discharged battery in it.
For some things, there's just no cure...
Okay I understand where you're coming from but essentially what you need to do, under normal circumstances, is connect it to your PC, which if the device is working at all the PC will detect it but not connect... In the case of two of your Uni's I don't think this will help - the dropped one and the BA ROM failure. The one with the Red LED, which has stopped working could be a component failure on the board or it could be a Corrupt DOC table. Now to get back to how you'd go about fixing it if it is a corrupt DOC table, when you connect it to the PC and the PC detects it you disable ActiveSync and start MTTY it should give you the option of connecting to the USB port, when it does this if you get a prompt the problem should be fixable because MTTY can "talk" to the device... As for the other's try this method and if it doesn't work sell them for parts or canabalise the one for parts for the other...
Thank you in advance for any help!
So I flashed my phone (with the newest RomEo ROM) and everything installed correctly. After install phone starts up and I calibrate my stylus. It then proceeds to install some stuff automatically and reboots on its own. Everything is still great. On restart I'm asked for my sim so I turn off the phone, throw the sim in, and then.....NOTHING. Phone will not turn on or respond to anything. Any advice?
Did you hard reset after flashin the rom? (when you got to the calibrate stylus screen)
Damn. Forgot. Any solution?
Im not sure, Ive heard that if you can get to the bootloader screen your ok. I would suggest just trying to flash again.
First, thanks for your input thusfar.
I would try to flash again but the phone is dead. It doesn't turn on at all and it doesn't sync with the computer. Hell, it doesn't even charge. I just bought the phone from AT&T the other day so I guess I'll walk in and tell them it died and see if they give me a new one, unless I can fix this thing tonight.
i dont know if this would be a problem but do you have HARDSPL on it? and maybe you just have a bad battery. Might want to test that first before taking it to the store and them getting it to work and then see the new ROM and void the warranty.
Im new to all of this so I dont know what advice to give. Did you pust in the Roms thread?
Since you have flashed a new Rom your carrier may not give you a refund.
You did flash GSM rom to a GSM phone and not to a CDMA one right?
he flashed the right rom because Romeos does not have a CDMA rom. I just hope he had hard spl. I mean i dont know what would happen if he flashed a rom and did not have hard spl. I dont know if it would even let him flash the new rom with out hard spl. So that is one possible reason i can think or his battery might have just given out. Since he says nothing turns on and it does not charge.
I do have hardSPL. I check and double checked that everything was the right version and everything was compatible. I'm hoping it's the battery but it's so weird if that is the case because I just got the phone a few days ago! Well, I guess I'll roll the dice and take the phone in and try to get a replacement for either the battery or phone.
Thanks for the input everyone.
If is was the battery, though, shouldn't the phone still boot up when it is connected to the power, even if the battery is dead? If you take the battery out of your phone and connect it to the power, does it still startup?
Nevermind. I took the sim out (again -- for the 10th time) and played with the battery prongs and, thank god, it worked. Thanks one last time for all the input and concern.
awesome! glad to hear it was just a battery problem
after i attemped to upgrade my jf 1.41 rc 30 to jf 1.41 rc 33 my phone freeze and then i took out the battery, try to turn it on and it wont turn back on is there any way or any buttons i need to push to get this back on again? i'm desperate and dont want to wait for a g1 replacement which is coming next week please give me some advice on how to make my phone work again.

So far you are the only person with this problem so we are running through the basics.
Did you get any errors or messages during the update? Did the phone run out of battery mid update? Did anything odd or unusual happen?
quick question in while in the topic, had he done a FULL nandroid backup and was able to atleast get to boot screen would he be able to restore his phone? just a quick questions because to this day i have no idea how the nandroid thing works i cant do it on my x64 vista either and dont see how it comes in handy lol. Sorry just trying to fig it out.
after i tried to install the radio update it showed some sort of chip with an arrow and then it froze for over 10 mins so i ended up taking out the battery
@zgjbeta Yes. If you can get to the blinkin android screen, your not really bricked. Nandroid would fix it right up.
If it wont even turn on, like your case. I dono what to tell you.
For starters, try to connect it to a wall outlet to make sure its not the battery.
Also tell us exactly what happened during the update process.
EDIT: I read your most recent post. That's strange because everyone gets the chip thing, you shouldve tried home + back or menu + green + red.
One of those wouldve most likely worked.
Good luck.
Also maybe try to take it out again and put it back in.
I had the chip and arrow after the radio update, I didn't take the battery out, started pressing random keys, lol... and then it went away and booted back to a JF recovery style screen. Pressed home + back and it rebooted to a stuck flashing android. Then did call+menu+end to reboot and it has worked fine ever since.
There is definitely something whacky going on...
yes i tried to do the home key plus end and camera plus end options while in that chip state but didnt do anything so i resolve to take out the battery and it wont turn on again. i also tried all the button reset combo nothing happens
If it wont even turn then there is really nothing that can be done. Another thing I would try is if you know someone else with a G1 try their battery.

Also try cleaning the battery contacts in the phone and on the battery. This happened to one of my dumbphones once - cleaned out the battery contacts and it worked again. Bizzare situation, simple solutions first.
You might've turned it off while it was writing a vital file. Thus your phone might be bricked.
Here's an idea - sent it back to T-Mobile/HTC - and I don't think they will notice you violated your warranty until it's too late (they have to fix your phone to find out) so you could just refuse to pay and have them send it back to you.
I too saw the chip with the arrow thing, so that makes 3 people in this thread. It happened when I did the radio update. Anyway, in my case, I held down the recovery mode keys for a while and it went to the menu. Then I just rebooted and everything was great. Glad I didn't take out the battery (I considered it).
I had the chip and just waited and it took care of itself. Just be patient people.
plug in the wall charger, wait 10 seconds, then hold the red power button for 3-5 seconds then release, it should turn on
i tried that didnt work anymore advice?
also is there any way to run diagnostics of this phone to pc to make it work?
If the phone won't turn on, go back to the T-Mobile store and ***** em out. Not much else to say if we can't even get power to it.
I was carrying my phone and i dropped it, and now it won't turn on. Well i plug it to my computer and then i pressed the on button and it turns on but it gets to windows screen and reboots and does this over and over. BUT if i unplug it doesnt turn on anymore.
I've flashed it a couple of time but the last time i flashed it was back to the stock alltel rom because I wanted picture messages to come through.
I've reflashed it again and it goes through but when you unplug it. It turns off again.
So, when did you drop it? Like, right after you flashed a gsm rom onto a cdma phone (or vice-versa, not sure what alltel is, though I suspect it's cdma). Is dropping the phone even relevant to the story, or is flashing the cause of the re-boot cycles? You need to be a little more clear. By that, I mean, what did you do immediately before the re-booting started? Flash, or drop?
I suspect you need to go back to the stock rom and you'll be good to go. If dropping is the cause, go back to stock, and if it's still broken, send it in for repairs/warranty/insurance or whatever.

Yup, Alltel IS CDMA.....
If it works while connected to the computer then you might have broken the battery-phone connection...or who knows. I'd definitely send it back if it is tstill in warranty.
Good luck.
Okay, i flashed it like 6 hours earlier to droping it, no i don't have warranty on it.
so i flashed it with back to the stock rom
then i dropped it 6 hours later and it keeps rebooting only when i have it plugged in but it wont turn on without it being plug.
You haven't answered whether or not you flashed a GSM ROM to your CDMA phone.
Can you see physical damage?
Oh, idk why but i typed something wrong, i've had this rom forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=42741 the alltel one since yesterday, and i dropped it today, After i dropped it put the battery back on but it didn't start up so i pluged it to my comp and it started up so i did hard reset while i had it plugged up to the computer and it didn't fix it.
*NOTE it can only start up (well try to start up but reboots) when i have the cord pluged up as soon as i take it out it wont start at all.*
So, i figured since it will only start up when i have a power source and reboots it might have a booting problem. So i reflashed it with the same rom i posted a link to..
I still have the same problem
Also i have no warranty bought phone from a friend.
*Also no damage just battery poped out when it got dropped*

So before you dropped it it was working fine on the stock Alltel ROM?
If that's the case, its probably physical damage, although the constant restarts would indicate a software issue.
Make sure your battery is getting a good connection.
It may just be a damaged battery.
Yes, it was working fine, I got a spare battery at home so i'm gonna try that, but ya the restarting make me think a software problem cause its getting power really from the computer port.
