Maybe start the setup process, select english, next , skip back up assistant, either enter a gmail account or fake and see if you can get as far as you can just to get into the settings.
Ok what screen are you seeing can you do anything? Some company's can unlock the phone so u enter ur country code I guess then maybe bypass setup.Maybe have a friend that has a setup sim card for your country put in the phone just to pass the setup screen then there are several options to continue.
If you can get to a keypad screen,
Try this:
1. Select emergency call and dial ##778.
2. Select edit and enter service password 000000.
3. Select NAM Settings.
4. Change Mobile Directory number to 0000000000 (Ten digits).
5. Change MIN1 to 0000000 (Seven digits).
6. Change Mobile Country Code to 000 (Three digits).
7. As you back out "Commit the Change".

No keypad or picture of a droid? Ive read several posts that if you can stick a valid sim card in even if its not your I would assume from the country you bought the phone you can bypass setup. If bought in the US use any active sim card and then bypass everything.
---------- Post added at 04:57 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:50 AM ----------
Read another option, get a prepaid sim card from your country to help get past the no sim card and then disable the sim card check without continue as setup as you dont want to use as phone and cant.

If i manage to root the phone and install a custom firmware,i still have to enter in testmode every time i start the phone?well, for me isnt realy a phone,is a mini tablet...

Yeah I think so as you wipe everything and it wants to do some type of setup.

So,i cant get rid of the verizon apps and the bypass process in any way?

If you can bypass the setup process like you said you would just install a rooted rom that is either debloated or download a program to unistall or freeze them. So basically use ODIN to install debloated Rom and then you can do whatever you want. To be honest I havent really paid attention as Ive changed my phone so many times but even with rooted roms I think you would still need to bypass setup and like I said then you can do whatever you want.Didnt you say you had bypassed the setup process?
Just read you post #9 so you were referring to entering test mode everytime you restart your phone. Dont know didnt do anymore research as you said you had it working. I would have to google more an look it up. Maybe someone else might know more?

[Guide] How to fix roaming/wont activate problem after flashing 4.2.1 rom

***ONLY VERIZON GS3***
A lot of people have been having problems with flashing CM10.1 and the SlimBean 4.2.1 beta. This guide will tell you how to fix the data. At first it looks like you lost your IMEI, but you probably didn't. It is a simple fix.
What you will need:
Odin: http://samsung-updates.com/Odin307.zip
Stock Rom: https://www.dropbox.com/s/wjaifmod7d78lt0/stock.vzw_root66.tar
Instructions:
1. Go into Odin put the stock rom into the PDA part and make sure the check mark next to it is checked.
2. Boot into Download mode by hitting Volume Down + Power + Home
2. Make sure only "Auto Reboot" and "F. Reset Time" are checked under options (if not you can seriously mess up your phone).
3. Flash the stock rom using Odin.
4. Once it says pass in Odin take your phones battery out and boot into recovery by hitting Volume Up + Power + Home.
5. Hit wipe data/factory reset (your phone should restart)
6. Hit the bottom left then right then left then right then volume up to pass activation.
7 Then type *2767*3855# into the phone once you set it up (you shouldn't have to press call).
Now you phone should be fixed, and you should be able to root, unlock your boot loader and try again.
Tip:
When flashing SlimBean 4.2.1 beta 1 and CM10.1 use a dirty flash over a 4.1.1 or 4.1.2 rom.
- Dirty flash is when you don't clear your data before you flash.
I think you forgot a step, after step 4 when they boot into recovery they need to wipe data/factory reset and then boot the ROM, and THEN dial the number to re-provision.
Thank you for this. I have been trying to fix my phone for a couple days now from this roaming thing. I flashed the stock VRALHD, erased data, called that *2767blahblah number over and over. Nothing seemed to work. Finally, after leaving my family's Christmas party to catch my ferry back home, I figured I would try to dial that *2767*3855# again so I'd be able to let my family know I made the boat. After reboot, I had data! Not sure what changed but I'm afraid to reboot or do anything in fear of losing data again and being stuck in roaming. I'm going to try this fix when I get home. Thanks again, and merry Christmas!

Once the phone successfully re-provisions you won't have any problems with data anymore, unless you flash a 10.1 build without RIL support for data that is. If you want to flash 10.1 again make sure it is the 12/24 nightly or later.

Thank you. Any ideas as to why it took so many attempts at re-provisioning? Like I said, I've been trying for two days now.

This is a touchy subject. I once had the triangle and roaming with dual clock. I did all I could with all the fixes. Wound up getting sim replaced. Then happened again with the slim bean update. So both were triangles. But the luck the second time was flashing the backup of strumer jons miui. It has all the nice deep network settings. And it worked. I see now many are talking about the fix in most cases kust going in to network settings and chainging to ruim from nv ...then auto. So try this if you have the roaming triangle and still have your imei and number.. min

Hello i am dealing with this right now as i type this. I have gone into Network settings and switched everything i can possibly find, nothing seems to get rid of the triangle
Also tried flashing other roms i had backed up
Also tried a fresh factory reset
Right now im downloading this ROM and Odin, and ill give it a whirl. If all else fails i guess i have to go get a new SIM? What do i tell them at the counter? Will they care that I am rooted? Do i even need to bring my phone to them or can i just bring the SIM and ask for a new one?
---------- Post added at 05:43 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:40 PM ----------
To the OP ... you mentioned follow these steps then i should be able to root/unlock ... but I already have. Do you mean that by following these steps I will lose my root and ill need to do it again?
Thanks
I wish this guide was out a couple days ago I had to figure it out by googling and flashing through Odin/face plants into keyboard. But what he says is what I did works great!

I feel like such a nub lol, never did use Odin. Im following this process ... i booted the phone and i see the little android robot. It says "Downloading... Do not turn off Target!"
I open Odin and i pointed the PDA path to the ROM i downloaded, check box is checked ... I hit start, and nothing happens.
Just says "<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 0)"
Did i do it wrong?
EDIT, apparently i had to wait for it to "ADD" my drive ... now i hit start and its doing all sorts of ish ... wish me luck!
---------- Post added at 07:38 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:12 PM ----------
I have gotten through to step 5 (factory reset) and now booted. It appears to be in an "Activation Loop" or something? I see the triangle is on top, and actually it sometimes switches to an "R" but then back to a triangle.
The phone says "Activating ..." and every minute it dials out to some number and connects for 2 seconds, then disconnects, and just keeps repeating.
It did that maybe 5 or 6 times, now it says my only option is to restart or make an emergency call. Cannot dial the code in step6 from the emergency keypad, it wont let me.
Im restarting, not sure what to do, there are no options.
Is this normal?

The R or triangle is what this is fixing that means your roaming just get out of the activation screen and call the number.
Right on ... it worked! I googled "How to get past activation screen" and could not believe that tapping actually worked, but it did lol. Dialed the number and bam .. service.
Now im assuming i need to reroot and unlock? Ill get on that now
Thanks so much to everyone.

This was the case for me. However easy to go into verizon without your phone. Tell them its ar home and you just need new sim. Offer to pay for it. Then they will give it free.

No, you don't need to unlock, the root66 ROM preserves your unlocked bootloader. All you have to do is flash Clockworkmod recovery, or TWRP recovery, and then you can flash back your custom ROM
So I originally had the roaming issue. Went back to the stock rom and entered the code provided in the dialer, re rooted and unlocked bootloader and flashed a custom recovery. Tried flashing 10.1 again...still the same deal. Roaming. How can I get past this roaming with an android 4.2 rom!? has anyone been successful at it?
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated haha

You have to do a dirty flash over a 4.1.1 or 4.1.2 rom.
Post over at the cyanogenmod forums suggest trying:
Go into Mobile Settings -> Mobile Networks
Change CDMA mode to RUIM
Toggle Airplane Mode (or reboot)
Haven't been able to verify myself, but if it can save someone from reflashing it's worth a shot.

This worked for me but I have a couple question.
- How do I get to be bone stock from here? I don't want to be rooted or flash any roms
For some reason, I don't have any 4LTE service only 3g.
I went to status update two times and both times I got upgraded to 4.04 not 4.1
Basically I would like the phone like it just came out of the box and I did an OTA update for 4.1
Thanks.

[Q] HTC Wildfire A3333 HARDLOCKED

I am a 65 year old android phone nooby I do not have a clue how these things work, I got the Wildfire A3333 off my son who purchased it secondhand off e-bay. It was completely locked up, but I purchased an unlock code that did not work? So went on you tube and found out how to reset it by clearing it? I put in a new sim card and I connected to the internet ok but when I tried to phone to set up the SIM it would not connect, nor will it send messages, it has a phone number in there that does not belong to it? because when I phoned it instead of ringing, a bloke answered?? Is there a way to get pass this hardlock or is it useless for phoning /messaging, everything else works internet, camera etc.

clear storage is just about the sdcard as far as i know. Other way is to factory reset in the android settings under "storage" or "security"
Just in case that will not help we can think about further steps to reset the phone. If its a used phone i CLEARLY recommend to reset or better reflash it bacause you cant if the last owner installed any malicious software on the phone.

I followed your instructions and did a factory reset, but it is still the same? except now there is no red triangle when I try to phone 150 to register the SIM card, I still can not access the call forwarding/call barring settings? And to be honest I do not have a clue what reflash means?
Thanks for help anyway:good:

Reflash means to reinstall the operating system (Android) on the phone. Compared to install windows on a home computer. It needs some more experience flashing a firmware but i can assisst you.
The point is that it seems as someone modified the phone on his own or the phone is from a different region/country. Just to be clear. Why did you buy a locked phone?
To know how to act pls do as followed:
Turn off phone. Go into "BOOTLOADER" by pressing "Vol down + Power" for some seconds. It will show some info. Please take a photo and upload it. then go to section "SIMLOCK" and take a photo too.
With this informations i can easiest tell you if its modified and how to get rid of the lock.

I did not buy it, it was given to me by my youngest son, he has learning difficulties and I do not think he knew what he was buying? And I think he tried accessing it until it completely locked up? It has been in a drawer for two years and came to light when he recently moved house, he also took out the SD card and misplaced it.
I hope I have done this right

Please download this --> HTC Wildfire unbranded RUU
and HTC USB drivers
you will also need a working usb cable and of course your computer
BTW it was good to have a micro sd card (Not necessary)
---------- Post added at 07:53 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:38 PM ----------
Install the driver and Make sure HTC sync (in case you installed it before) is closed. Start the phone into bootloader and select "fastboot" while connected to your computer. It should show up "fastboot usb" then you can run the RUU ( the big file you downloaded ) it will flash the stock firmware on your phone. Keep in mind that all personal data will be cleared during the flash process. If it runs successfully you should not face trouble anymore. If issues remain just tell me. Its important that the firmware update is NOT INTERRUPTED in any way, as it could make the device temporarily unusable. This should work fine for you, but of course its in YOUR RESPONCE what happens to the phone. So just go on, if you're sure how to act.

I can not get my computer to run the HTC Driver programme? I think a virus programme or firewall is stopping it opening?
It's NO VIRUS for sure. You can cut internet connection and deactivate antivirus to solve it and still be safe. After installing you can reactivate AV.
To proceed:
You are running a windows computer? Have installed any syncing software e.g. Samsung KIES, HTC Sync, Blackberry Chimera? If yes, uninstall it pls.
I ask bacause i NEVER had issues with installing teh HTC driver. Does it show up any error message?

I am a complete novice at this :good: I did not try last night because my battery went low and I did not want to interupt the install? fully charged now,:good: Thank you
First Download BOTH files please. That means to save them to your computer.
Run the HTCdriver4.2.exe as it provides the needed drivers. It will tell you that drivers have been installed successfully when finished.
Then you can boot the phone to "bootloader" and select "Fastboot" connect it to your computer and it will show "fastboot USB". Keep the phone connected like that.
Run the RUU_Buzz_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.22.405.1_Radio_13.55.55.24H_3.35.20.10_release_160191_signed.exe
It is self explaing BUT to be safe: Check the box "I read and understand it" - press next - Check "steps done" and press next.
NOW the programm will start flashing the firmware (Operating System + some other needed files).
Once finished the programm will tell you "successfull ...!
You should be able to boot Android and everything should be resetted and set back to stock.
Then you can try if you still face any issues with the simcard.

Sprint S6 Marshmallow update locked me out with new pin requirement for fingerprint.

I am quite frustrated with MM at this point. My wife's phone Sprint S6 had Lollipop on it, and she set up fingerprint unlock. It did not ask for a pin and there was no backup pin/password set up on the phone. The new MM update rolls around and the policy has changed so that it now requires a pin for the fingerprint unlock and it will not use fingerprint authentication after a reboot or 24 hours of not being used. Well her phone went straight to asking for a pin without one ever being set up and refuses to unlock with a fingerprint. Sprint sent us another phone and I have set it up, but so far the old phone is on and I can do anything you can do with a locked phone on the main screen, take pictures or screenshots, open and close the top menu, but I can't sign in to make any changes. The wifi is on, and it connects to my network. I signed into Android Device Manager and can get it to ring, attempt to reset the lock code which does put up another lock screen but it will not let me unlock the phone. Just keeps going back to the pin. She didn't have a Samsung account so I can't use the unlock on the Samsung page. Took it to a Sprint service center and they couldn't do squat of course. It was another center that told me to go to that one for help. Guess that was just a couple hours drive time wasted.
I now have a spreadsheet of pins I have attempted and it's an hour between attempts but I am getting nowhere fast, and feel like I am wasting time. Since the bootloader is locked I can't get Odin to update it to TWRP, and I have downloaded 5.1.1 to try and push it back but that too is locked out when I try Odin. I logged into the bootloader and have tried to Apply Update from ADB, but I can't seem to find an OTA version of 5.1.1 for Sprint SM-G920P. I can find the .tar.md5 version bit Odin will not let me put it on, I am assuming because it isn't letting me go backward.
I did manage to get all of my contacts off the phone because we still hadn't deleted the bluetooth connection to our car, and it pulls all of the contacts to the car when you connect a phone. So I let it connect to the car, pulled the contacts and then used my phone to video as I scrolled through the contacts and expanded the ones that were truncated on the screen.
The only thing I want now would be some of the pictures, and I can't get to those since there's no micro SD card on an S6. So at this point I don't know if this is just a rant or if someone knows if there is anything I can possibly Update through ADB to help me get into my phone? I have a few more days before I have to send it back to Sprint as they called and wanted it already, but I told them they needed to give me more time since someone (Sprint, Google, or Samsung) let this particular scenario slip by before they pushed this update. Having the phone just sitting here beeping with updates and updating software all the while not letting me in is like it's just screwing with me. If it would just allow the fingerprint to unlock this would be done. Anyone have any ideas?

Yes. The file I tried to upload was the stock 5.1.1 (1648503226 Apr 27 18:36 G920PVPU2BOF7_G920PSPT2BOF7_SPR.zip wrong file this is the one I tried with Odin - 3662786727 Jun 12 2015 G920PVPU2BOF7_G920PSPT2BOF7_G920PVPU2BOF7_HOME.tar.md5 ) for the G920P. The phone has always been stock. I get an error with if I recall LRP and it shows the version numbers and will not allow the update to load. Odin fails pretty quickly. If I try and upload the TWRP bootloader it will show it uploading and then fails the write as the bootloader lock is on.
Correct, I can't see the pics, and didn't have USB debugging turned on either, otherwise there was a chance that I could have used adb to do a backup. It was my wifes phone so I didn't mess with it. In hindsight I guess I should have, and will definitely be correcting this on the replacement.
Try the sprint 6.0.1 tar

It currently has 6.0.1 on it, and I don't think reloading the same version will help any, since it's the policy of the new MM update to require a pin on a restart, which is what happened here. When the new phone came in it still had 5.1.1 on it, and I went through and verified that setting up fingerprint authentication didn't require a pin. I did turn it back off so we wouldn't get bit by the same issue twice. I also took a screenshot of the 6.0.1 MM update where it mentions the new fingerprint rules. Seems to me they forgot about people who might have set up fingerprint verification and not had a required pin. I have tried over 30 different pins that we can think of, including the last 4 of the phone number, etc. No luck and I am just about to give up.

I will go read that right now. I am almost ready to go to the bootloader and "Wipe Cache Partition" also to see if that will maybe get it to where it let's me attempt to get back in using the gmail account.
Which leads me to a side rant. The gmail account on the phone was set to sync everything and I figured when I logged into the new phone it would all (at least contacts and calendar entries) just re-sync and download. Nope. Nothing. So I entered new contacts into the new phone, made sure sync was set up, and logged into google with the account and nothing had synced up. I had to tell it to sync manually on the PC before it pulled anything from the phone. Make sure and check your google account folks. Make sure it's actually syncing your data and not just saying it is.
Off to read the thread and see how it goes. I will report back.
Yea I noticed that with Google and the syncing learned that a few years back lol but that thread should be able to help and once u put a custom rom u should be good to go

It didn't work. I get "Custom Binary(RECOVERY) Blocked by FRP Lock. And I can't get in to turn on the OEM Unlock. I guess my next step will be deleting the cache from the bootloader and see if that resets something to let me re-try via the google account. I am not going to do the factory reset until I am putting it back in the box, but at this point I don't have much to lose.
But a factory reset would not delete your pics and stuff that might be what u need because that's a bug
Sent from my SM-G920T using Tapatalk
I did not know it would keep the data. When I go to the bootloader there is the option "Wipe data/Factory reset". So I just assumed that was the nuke option. Or do I need to google or search here for factory reset? I am also downloading the 6.0.1 stock firmware to attempt to see if it will upload through Odin. This phone gets sent back in a few days so I can't really screw it up and I am not worried about tripping Knox or anything like that. So it's about another 5 hours to dl, as I am on a sloooow connection. Might read up on the factory reset and hit the hay. It's 1:30AM here and I can pick this up tomorrow. Appreciate all of the help and sticking with me.

Let me know how those 2 methods work out for u mate
Am saving the factory reset for a last resort as from what I read it wipes everything and since the S6 has no card to remove... The download didn't complete so I just restarted. Couple of hours to go.
I got the MM update to successfully upload, but as I figured I am in the same position. I even tried swapping out the recovery.img with another from a rooted firmware, but the FRP lock kept it from loading. So now it's just back to trying pin numbers. And I am about up to about the 40th one since I started logging them. I am sure I have duplicated some of the ones we tried earlier, but since there was nothing set initially I am really just wasting my time I guess. So I will keep an eye here and maybe by the end of the week just wipe the device and put it in the mail back to Sprint. Again, thanks for the help.
Officially gave up on it tonight. Sprint is calling and threatening that if we don't send the phone back they will charge us the full amount so times up. Tried well over 40 possible pins, tried flashing a different firmware, tried flashing twrp, even tried cobbling together a firmware package with twrp stuck inside. No dice. You win Samsung/Google/Sprint.
So beware folks, if you are running Lollipop and using fingerprint authentication and don't have a pin set, switch to another type of unlock before it updates to Marshmallow. Or else you could be stuck in the same predicament as I was. I realize it's a possibly rare combo of settings, but I saw someone in the Sprint repair center the same time I was in there with the same problem.

Sprint SM-G900P Wont get signal from Metro PCS.... HELP PLease

Hope someone is up for a challenge.
Yesterday I went to Metro PCS to port my number and phone to them after using Sprint for 15 years.
They told me it was locked and I need to have it unlocked.
So I came home and found a guy on here to do it for me, Unlock.
I went back the lady registered the phone and sim and made a call to her store number and it rang.
I went outside and tried to call my wifes phone to make sure it would work and it tells me its connecting to Sprint network and I need to enter a credit card# to use it.
I went back today and they entered the APN info. and spent an hour with customer service and couldnt fix it.
They told me to wait 2 days and see if it would come on later in the week after they looked at their system.
HELP i need my phone.
what OS are you on? many stock OS's wont let an APN change stick, so itll revert back to trying to use sprint towers instead of the t-mobile stuff youre entering in the APN settings. Who did the unlock for you? If youre rooted, i suggest the marshmallow version of the resurrection remix ROM as it has all the APNs built in and all you have to do is select it. I use H2O wireless, and it had it listed in the APN choices.
did assadnow2k do the unlock? or stifilz?

ive even had it to where MOAR wouldnt allow me access to the area where you edit the APN, all you need to do in those instances is dirty flash (reinstall the ROM without wiping anything) and reboot, then itll again allow you access to that menu and youre off to the races again. yep. youre far better off that way. The stock ROM isnt too friendly with APN changes. Ive been using GSM on my G900P for about 10 mos now via several different MVNOs (cell service resellers like straight talk, boost, cricket, etc ect) and the stock ROMs just arent the best for this. Also, the best unlocking service out there that ive ran into is http://www.idoneapps.com/ They just know exactly what theyre doing, and have the moderators that provider the backup for their product that can guarantee that itll work. They rock.

No data using unlocked AT&T Samsung S7- HELP

My apologies if this has been dealt with elsewhere, if so please just point me where to go...
Last week we switched to T-Mobile from AT&T. I had AT&T unlock all 4 of our phones. That was done successfully.
So my wife starts using her S7 and she can make calls and text just fine, but she calls from work saying she has no data. Hmm. So I call tech support. They have me change Access Point info several times, but still no luck. Tech guy "escalates" things to "Engineering" but we haven't heard boo from them.
I was tinkering with the phone and recall Airplane mode can sometimes kickstart data issues, sure enough, if I turn Airplane Mode on, then off, I get full 4G LTE signal and we can surf. But the minute I reboot the phone, we lose data connection until I do the airplane trick.
Note that all of our other phones have no issues like this, and yes, tech says all phones show having full access to data.
So has anyone had this issue and successfully fixed it? If so how? It's driving us crazy.
Thanks in advance.

Ok it's actually easier to give you instructions on the main thread but first I need you to make sure you have access to a computer unless you are actually using xda so assuming you are near your computer when you have time back up your wife's phone with smart switch, here is a download link http://www.samsung.com/us/assets/Smart_Switch_pc_setup.exe
Matter of fact I got a call from T-Mobile telling me to try to "flash the software" and use the Smart Switch to back things up. I downloaded the Smart Switch for PC but when I tried to open it, it wouldn't install, gave me some weird error message.
So once I get the phone backed up, can you point me to how to flash the T-Mobile software? I'm crossing my fingers this is fairly easy since I'm not much of a tech when it comes to deeper smartphone tweaking (ROM's this and that lol).
Thanks for your help folks. I just want a smooth running phone vs. giving T-Mobile $30 more a month for an identical phone.

Thanks for the links, do you (or anyone else) have a detailed list of installation instructions? Teach me like I'm in 3rd grade.

Ok first put your phone In download mode by holding down volume down+power+home until you see this
Sorry, posted too soon here is what you will see while in download mode
So am I downloading both those files above to my PC, or to the phone? At what point to do I put phone into Download mode??
I guess the big question, what are the odds that this bricks her phone?
thx
And then in Odin you will see 4 tabs BL AP CP CSC click on the BL button next to the message box and select your downloads folder do this for the AP CP and CSC as well and click start

The bootloader is locked so you can only brick your phone if you unplug it while it is flashing also you may have to use a modified Odin program so if you need it let me know
So to confirm the steps:
First backup my phone using Samsungs software via my PC then..
Download the two files you posted earlier TO MY PC.
Open Odin and get the folders situated..
Plug in the phone to the PC and set it to Download mode
Let it do it's thing..once done I should have the full T-Mobile software and no more AT&T junk?
Sound correct..if not, please fill in any missing steps.
Much appreciated.

Thanks, so how would I know if I need a modified Odin program??
How do I make sure I have the correct drivers? Assuming I need those loaded to the PC(?) BEFORE I start all this process?

Use this link to download drivers http://developer.samsung.com/common/download/check.do?actId=698
So have you done this same thing to an AT&T S7 with full success? Just wondering. My wife won't let me hear the end of it if I brick this phone. LOL
