Android on iPhone

Hi all!
To those of you who don't already know it,Android on iPhone and/or iPod Touch has been made possible. So I want to propose that the devs here start looking into it.Maybe we can prove that the iPhone is a good phone from a bad idea!It is still a bit of a tricky process to get it working and it's not that good, but I am confident that,if the project is adopted here in XDA,it will become a lot easier and better experience!
And,for god's sake, think about the poor guys that are still using iPhones.Don't they have the right to use a truly good OS and taste some freedom from their devices?
you should have mentioned that it is still impossible to get android running on ipod touch 3rd gen and iphone 3gs.

[Q] How can I downgrade iPod touch from iOS 4?

First off,I am sincerely sorry for asking about some of Apple's iCrap things here, but I won't fall as much as to visit one of their forums!
So,to the situation.I have an iPod touch 2G(I think) and updated the iOS to version 4.Now that thing is freaking SLOW!It's jerky,it's slower than it was and some games don't play as smooth as they did.I thought it'd have multitasking but not even that!So I want to downgrade to version 3.x..At least before it had some basic functionality and it was smooth! Now it's ****tier than every Apple product out there!
Thanks!
You can easily downgrade but you have to download the 3.1.3 firmware and then run something to keep the restore from erroring out. Or you'll have to use iboot.

Support appreciated dude! But c'mon, they are stupid enough to sabotage their own products with their new software!Has anyone seen iOS 4 running on an iPod touch? It makes me miss my old Sony Ericsson w810i!At least it could play music without lagging!

How would iPhone owners be jealous? They'll just laugh at you when you buy a competitor product only to imitate their's.
That aside though, this does look quite cool.
I want to try that on my x10,can some1 make a flashable zip?
it looks like qq launcher with an iphone theme to me
This is fake! Notice when he starts dialing 5555.... ios puts dashes between them and notice the unresposive resistive touch screen....its a Chinese KIRF(keepin it real fake)*quoted from ENGADGET* phone

Anyways - FYI - To properly embed videos onto XDA all you have to do is go to advanced reply> Press youtube button > Copy only the last few letters after the = in your link and put it in between the youtubes and then you got it!

[Q] BB Playbook dual boot

I am considering purchasing the Playbook when it comes out due to it's specs. Does anything think it might be a possibility to have it dual boot with honeycomb?
Bump!! Well not exactly bump....
I got a Playbook yesterday to evaluate for work and the hardware is great. I am currently using a Nook Color but the Playbook beats it hands down except for the software which has a long way to go.
Instead of a dual boot how about a straight port of say...CM-7?
Anyone...anyone? Is it remotely possible, I wouldn't even know where to start but I would be willing to help financially.
I'll third that!
That would be a killer combo for me! If anyone has the chops to tackle this you would be my hero!
maybe running some android apps but the os i dont think so.

Since it is able to run Android apps, I wouldn't be surprised if it was able to get a port of Honeycomb or something eg the iPhone's Android or HD2's Android. I would actually expect it to be rooted and such just like android devices. I may be able to get one because my cousin is the Production Manager or something along those lines for the the Playbook and he has a bunch of in his house.
My understanding of the Android Apps is that they would have to be repackaged and recompiled as opposed to running natively. They would then need to be released via the Blackberry app world. I am not sure if this is conducive to an emulator, etc.
My offer of financial assistance still holds.

From my understanding it plays them out of the box.
I know this for sure, there not emulated, and not ready out of the box. They will need to be compiled differently from my understanding, to early to tell yet, a few weeks away from them announcing details i think

Hm, I havent really checked into its specs, but if the processer is compatible, then It is possible for it to run Android. I think it's best bet is some port of Honeycomb like the Nook's version. If they can get it on the iPhone of all devices, then the Playbook shouldn't be as hard.

I don't believe it is an Android derivative. RIM bought an OS manufacturer, QNX, and are you using that OS.
I agree that it ought to be easier than an iOS device but there would need to be demand. I think I will go over to Crackberry.com and see if I can't stir up some interest over there.

[Q] Why not Android on WP7

I am wondering how come android can be developed for any other HTC but not for Surround? I know some may not like my question, but I am a layman, stuck with this phone and don't know how to and where from i can find the android on my phone.
