[MOD] [DEV] HTC ReZound Beats Audio - HTC Sensation

Here i have a other one for you.
Don't blaim me i tried to do my best.
I even bought me a pair of Monster Ibeats earbuds today to test this... (Damm are the expensive)
This is only working on Sense 3.5.
Yesterday I received from the same person as from the 4x1 widget a bunch of Beats files.
The sender doesn't want to get any credits although he earns it.
He also doesn't want to be mentioned.(respect)
Well i put all the files together and replaced some from mine existing rom.
Cause the ReZound audio files messed up some stuff like VoiceSearch.
My conclusion it's perfect for an non XE add on.
The popup in the screen below is the one you'll see with original Beats Headphones:

Note:
Since the flashable zip doesn't contain the necessary framework files.
It's ment to be for the dev's or roms which already have Beats implanted.
If you flash this zip you woudn't get the icon in the notification bar.
Flashable zip is provided in the attachment below.

Is this mod better than the original XE beats? If so can I have the senders permission and your permission to use the files in my Beats Audio XE mod please. My goal is not to compete with other devs but to create the best possible audio sound

With all respect to the other MODS.
I personally find these files from the HTC ReZound sounds better the rest out there.
As i mentioned it, i even bought me a pair of Monster Ibeats earbuds today specially for testing this one out.
You can test it out to hear the difference.
And of cource you may use it, why not?
Thats why i posted it, to share it with the rest of XDA.

Have you also tried it with the beats audio files from before and the Rezound Beats files are better... Scale of 1 - 10 how good are each?

Personally, the rezound beats give ever so slightly better bass, possibly +2 on the scale but the XE beats give better volume.
So the solution to get the best sound is replace libbeatsbass.so file from the XE beats with the one from the rezound mod
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio Z715e using xda premium

Thanks for this, this isn't a mod tweak like the otheer versions

I made rezound beats mod to sense 3.0 XE base. I don't know about the quality but the volume lower than original beats for xe than rezound for sure.

volume is stock and the whole Beats isn't modded in anyway.

I didn't use your mod. I used the libs and other files from the rezound, without the apk that won't work for sense 3.0. I have beats studio and the phone recognized them as beats headset so it use the real beats sound. With rezound files the sound volume with the beats studio is lower than with stock xe files.

thanks....

Indeed the volume is lower.
It could be the sound chipset behaviour on the Rezound behaves different in volume wise speaking.
Or the XE Beats libs are modified.
Didn't take a look at that.

Your welcome...

Hi V6, this is my findings if you are interested.
The volume lower on normal sensation is because the configuration file of amplifier chip, TPA2051_CFG_XC.csv, on headset, XE is 55, and normal sensation is 50, change it will make it higher. csv files in etc folder are device specific, so don't replace it with other devices. Beats is just bass enhancement, that makes you feel beating . There are other devices ROM cook made enhance on these, like mixture of the bass boost of equalizer + beats.
For sensation sense 3.5 2.08.401.1 to have beats working, the files missing are libbeatsbass.so and HtcBeatsNotify.apk, and some peqimage*, dynamiage* basimage* take it from runny or xe is fine. Using libaudcal.so libaudcal_nel and libaudcalwb.so from xe is fine too, but will stable only when using custom kernel.
My mods is over here

The Rom has beats in it
Launch the default music app & play any song you should get a option in the notification bar allowing you to enable or disable beats
If this does not happen try pressing the menu soft button in the player when the song is playing then choose sound enhancers & choose beats
There is now a flahable zip available for any sense Rom to have beats

I am trying beats audio now on Hyperion Rom.

That's a good new.
I'm considering go back to s-off.
Any way to get beats working with Power AMP?

Similar thread to one in the General section. Here's my post from that one;
Beats Audio is basically Dr. Dre's idea of what EQ settings you should have when some Beats Audio high performance equipment is plugged in. A stock phone with Beats Audio (Sensation XE) will detect the official Beats headphones (somehow) and Beats Audio will apply a certain EQ.
It's not like beats audio means it has any special audio processing hardware. It is simply an EQ tailored to get the "best" sound out of a specific set of headphones (and make Dr. Dre more ‘paper’). If you are not planning on using Beats headphones, then it is kinda redundant. I'm simply curious to see if this EQ is better than my custom one using PowerAmp. (PowerAmp is also currently running a 2.0 Beta from their website. Check it out.)
I have yet to test it myself, but I would imagine that unless you are planning on splashing out £100+ on Beats headphones, you are best of sticking with using PowerAmp and it's awesome equaliser to tune the sound to best suit the headphones you already have. Much Cheaper! Also the hack that needs to be applied, so that beats activates with any headphones can't possibly apply a different EQ for each set of headphones. It'll be one fixed bass/treble tweak designed to compliment the Beats headphones bundled with the Sensation XE. That's the best reason to get the XE. Those headphones would normally cost over £100 and are meant to be very good.
Since we are on the topic, we all know the headphones supplied with the Desire S are shocking. I can highly recommend the a-Jays One. IMO you'll not get a better sound for £20! Plus the cable is truly tangle-free! I'd have been very happy with these had they cost me £60.
(Also wins the prize for the most over-packaged product I've ever bought. The case is good for keeping anything you want to survive the nuclear apocolypse.)

I tried beats, tbh not much if a differnce with my senheiser cx-200s. It jut amplifies the sound quality a but, and makes the music sound 'brighter'
Still yet to try it on my friends beats solo HD pair.
My senheisers broke, (keeps losing conncetion) so I'm looking for a new pair. Will check out your review for those headphones!

beats audio on sensation rom

im am not fully understanding the whole beats audio thing with the new revolution 3.6.x rom.does this actually load software in the phone that makes the phone have this actual feature or is it just there as something to show off to people.im just not understanding it because i thought that one would have to have all other types of internal equipment to add an audio system to a phone.
Well I think its some fancy set of equalizer maybe alithrograms that the music runs through (software side)
I assume on the sensation XE it has the beats amp built into the phone
So really yes you do have beats but only the software side of things
If that's the case you could pretty much get the effects using DSp manager with something like poweramp and vet close if not better sound
Hope this was helpful, I'm going to bed now lol

its basically a software thats included on a rom. if you were to flash any of the roms without beats onto the xe, you would lose beats. this is basically a scheme that htc came up with to promote beats audio. all in all, xe is only a sensation clocked to 1.5 which is what the regular sensation is supposed to be on, and a bigger battery with more red accents
Sensation XE does not have ANY DIFFERENCE from the orignal Sensation ( unless you count cosmetic differences. ) Beats is only software side. Dont fret it.

[Q] BEATS: A ROM or kernel thing?

Please don't laugh if it sounds like a stupid question. I am very new at these things . i successfully flashed my XE to Revolution HD 3.6.8 sense 3.0 which used faux kernel & there was no change in beats sound. After that i flashed bricked kernel V1.5 ondemand successfully. Then when i connected my XE to my car audio system the beats icon appeared/ activated !!! & the sound was no near as if with the headphone (obviously) i also found that when before with faux kernel there was only option to enable/disable beats, now i have other sound enhancement options So i was wondering/ wanted to know..
1.can kernel change beats audio settings or it is only ROM thing?
2.if kernel can change beats settings, then which one uses the real beats settings? ( as i have read that beats used in custom ROM never sound as good as original beats )
3.lastly asking wise suggestion..as Revolution HD 3.6.8 gave me no trouble..should i stick to that, or try a different ROM considering speed+ battery life+ beats are MUST
Would be really grateful if i can have some wise suggestions here, thanx

Beats Audio is a ROM thing not a kernel thing.
To solve you problem just flash my Beats Audio XE mod and you will have your beats again. My advice is also upgrade to a sense 3.5 ROM but not ICS as ICS is not yet stable and mine and others beats mods will only work with sense 3.5 android 2.3.5 ROM's

Wrong.. Beats Audio both available in ROM and/or KERNEL.. but rezound is using dedicated beats sound driver in the kernel.. devs successfully port that beats audio driver in kernel of rezound for evo 3d..
thanx both of u guyz...i also knew beats is ROM thing, but after flashing new ROM..beats settings also got changed that made me to ask.
can u guyz please suggest me a ROM with speed+battery life+beats?

Actually I'm right, the actual sound and notification that comes from beats mode is purely ROM, both me and mudhi have been discussing this and we both have our respective beats mod that improves the sound beyond the normal beats and it has to do with files in the ROM. I also have my own custom kernel and went through every single file and there is no reference to beats. I did my homework so do not dispute on something in which you don't have a lot of knowledge in.

it's different, that's why it was emphasized in the first place.. rezound may have hardware accelerated that may benefit from its kernel, but it's already ported to e3d's kernel and it's noticeably different.. if you notice, most of htc apks were built to cater wide range of their devices with minor mods required, same goes with their specific kernel, it's portable across for most part of the codes.. and that's the reason the question was asked by op:

id like to differ with your "facts" here - let me get some snippets of my kernel's source code and paste them here in a few
BEATS support is about 40% rom, 60% kernel
yes you will get improvement without the kernel drivers, but you need both to be 100%
LEFT is HTC STOCK
RIGHT is MY KERNEL
and this is only maybe 5% of the beats code... there are about 20-30 more files - and all the RED area to the far left is basicly where the BEATS code sits..
you can also read some users feedback here
http://forums.infectedrom.com/showthread.php/1048-Anthrax-Kernel-Sensation-ICS-SENSE-4-0
...this kernel dont have beats yet, but im slowly porting over the shooter audio drivers from my shooter kernel... already has improvement in Bluetooth audio

[Q] Beats Audio and bad links

I just dled the old ARHD 3.6.13, I had looked at getting InsertCoin but the DL link was bad. Now I have 3.6.13 but I'm looking at getting ARHD 4.1.13. I want beats so I was trying to find the DL and all the links I came across were bad. Is something going on I don't know about? Anybody have the link for the improved beats audio?
Another question. The larger MMS mod says you must have CWM, I have 4EXT, can I not flash with 4EXT? If not, how can I flash mods that say CWM using 4EXT?
Thanks
4EXT will work fine

Maybe a tad off topic, but poweramp player now has beats support since yesterday, if you keep the bass and treble at 50%, disable the EQ and enable the tone and limit, and enable the beats button, it sounds exactly like the stock player with beats enabled. Only with poweramp you can then customise this sound if you really must have that additional bass or treble.

Beats audio?

Hey guys, I see that a lot of ROMs have beats audio ported. On the HTC Sensation, would the Beats Audio port be equivalent to a HTC One S in terms of sound quality? And what exactly does the Beats Audio mod do to the sound?
Thanks

Just applies an equilizer preset.
Remember that on the xe original 3.6 stock Rom, if you don't plug in headphones with a Mic you get the bass boost preset - that or beats. If you want pure sound without any effects for.your good headphones, perhaps you should try either a sense 4 rom or a pure ics one, or not using HTC built.in music player
