This is really noob question...but does anyone know how long is the actual time to charge sgs+ battery? I usually charge it overnight with the phone off...i know there's many people wsnt to know this...how long to charge?
GT-I9001 Adrenaline Shot v13 - powered by Instanet free edition : )
The times may be various, its will depend how much your phone batt has drained n the amp of your charger. Gingerbread 2.3.5 will beep n shown a notification on the screen that " the batt is full n remove the charger " Normally, i charge the batt over night - even i hear the beep, i don't bother to wake up n turn it off. I will discharge the batt fully once a month. My phone batt can last for a whole day - with 5 or 6 hours surfing net, listening to fews songs n abt an hour of phone call.
The beep sound is when u charge it overnight with the phone not switch rite? How bout ur usage? Is it full day with 3g on or u just switch it on when u want to surf the net?

My hp re on 3g network 24 hrs a day. On average, i use abt 2gb of data/mth only. There always a beep sound during the hp start charging n after fully charge. But when i ve upgrade the rom frm DXKG2 2.3.3.to DXKJ2 2.3.5. I do noticed that there re an addition warning on the screen to ve ask us to remove the charger when it was fully charged. Today I ve surf the net for more thn 2hrs n ve make 2 video call. Right now, my hp batt still remain 65%

Where did u all ve bought those handset? Frm Samsung authorise dealer or reseller? Some reseller may sold the handset at much lower prices, but they wil silently exchange the ori batt n charger with a low quality type
I buy from trusted reseller at rm1000...the phone was in the sealed box even the blue seal sticker are in place...after i open it, it revealed the VOID text...it is original...

charging takes about 3 hrs and discharging takes 15-24 hrs up to playing games, or calls, internet, if you have less than that you should continuously kill all apps running in the background, there are a lot that start without your knowledge, heard that asia rom 2.3.6 zskp6 has got a good battery life but didn't try myself.

hello,
i have I5801 galaxy 3..
currently on kies Froyo firmware..
from since flashing to froyo ..
1) whenever i talk on phone (ie do voice call) battery drains out in even less then a hour when fully charged..
2) when kept for charging.. even if battery shows like 10% remaining .. within like a min or two.. battery indicator shows an 100% charged status.
and it drains out in like 10 mins if removed from charging
what i think is somehow froyo is assuming it's charged and is stopping the charging process.
i've rooted it, and tried calibration.. still no luck.. I've deleted batterystats.bin regularly, still a new file is created and no change in battery condition is seen
plz help.. too much frustrated
PS: i am not a pro.. so help plz

don't delete batterystats.bin do some full charge discharge then report.
tried that.. still no change
battery drained off in 30-40 mins..
does ATK make battery drain? somewhere along on some phone someone said that draining battery to nil and charging back cycle makes battery life even shorter.. dunno what to do..

Calibrate your battery after doing a full charge. And use as "normal" for few normal cycles, just like you usually did.

Hi
Try using light version of g3mod kernel instead of oc based.
You can flash your phone with my Rom and test after full battery charge. note some apps are battery drainer like tweetcaster etc due to continuous sync.
Try to stop those services and test your phone thereafter..it will show improvement. .and dont delete any battery calibration seetting once done after you flash thats all.
Do let me know if it not happens.
Cheers.

still when i try to put it to charge..
say currently it shows like 40% charge.. but as soon as i put it on charging (via AC) .. it shoots up directly to 90-100 in two minutes.... this should be wrong, right?
darin rate is also bad
it showed 100% charged and a 3 min call .. made battery level goto 45%

i was thinking about G3mod 2.0 Beta2 kernel .. heard it uses very less battery..
but i've got a question ( and i can't ask in development forum as per post limitation) that does the 2.0 Beta2 uses less battery than the official samsung jp6 kernel? or should i try flashing that?
(now i may look like stupid asking these question)
first of all, sorry for bumping this after a month..
actually G3 wasnt with me from then, now it's back and problem persists
what i notice is that
1) phone when put to charge, shoots up to 100% in 5-10 mins, even when off
2) and same with the drain, it goes to 1% in 5-10mins
i checked out with battery, and it is fine they(samsung service center) say,..
plz help, i am at question as to what is the reason for this sudden rise and fall of battery level.

nope... i had used it before but now i am currently on I5801DDJP6 updated from 2.1 eclair via kies
its stock,unrooted, no modifications..
i'd calibrate battery, but the fact that it shoots up t0 100% in 10 mins
and what i guess is when phone detects 100% battery, it pretty much stops charging after that, thus battery starves ..
can something be done so that it actually gets accurate reading on battery status ?
Switch off your cell...let it full charge....
Then switch on the device and flash the cyanogen mod...
Its fast, stable and also increases the battery power...
had the exact same problem...did that and now works for almost two days...

cyanogenMod site doesnt show Galaxy 3 support...
btw u are saying ROM or kernel?? coz i like stock ROM of samsung as it's easy to use
@bscraze i contacted service center.. they say battery's good and doesn't need replacement...
hey i discharged until phone switched itself off couple of times
and charged it back to 100% while phone was off and then again when ON..
then, i increased brightness,turned on wifi,bluetooh,gps,etc and it dropped to 90% ..
as it is stock rom i think it was between 90-100% (coz with 1% mod)
but as soon as a call came, which was of 2:38 seconds, my phone battery dropped off to 3%
any guesses, why this is happening?

what i have been able to detect from last two days is,
that battery fall is severe only when on voice call,
i have been playing music, games without much battery drain
but a mere voice call with everything off (GPS,bluetooh, dataconntection) for not more than 10 mins, drains battery by 20-30%
any ideas about it's reason??

Check out which app uses more battery in battery - settings - usage. That particular process may use more battery than others.
I have a similar problem with my G3 - I'm running CM 6.2
While I checked the OS takes 76% of the battery. I found CM6.2 better in handling FC than 7.1..Or should i just go back to Cm 7.1??
Experts, please advice
Hello everyone. its long since i posted here and thats bcoz of only one reason .. battery problem with my phone. i really was getting pissed off by the issue that i stopped posting here .. cursing my bad old phone.. my battery was lasting near abt 6-10 hrs lately .. finally i decided to..
1. flash eclair (stock) JG6 which came along at the time of my purchase and had reasonable to good batt back up. flashed that and i was like 18-24hrs of batt backup. Used it for almost one week. and as i was surfing thru our threads.. saw some really encouraging post abt Kyrillos 9.3 and its battery backup. so..
2. I flashed kyrillos 9.3 for last 3 days .. and did the calibration on my very first charging after flashing 9.3.. yesterday got almost 36 hrs of batt backup .. right now m on 84%.. unplugged @ 8pm yesterday .. it 10:15am right now in india. so its around 14 hrs .. which i feel is quite good considering my past exp with my battery ..
I dont know what actually has done the trick or its illusion to me . but after flashing eclair my phone performance has gone up smartly.
Using 9.3 NON-OC. with a2sd enabled.
i hope it can help ppl abt our all confusing battery issue .. if not .. at least it can throw some light ...
Press the thanks button if u find it helpful. Hve a gr8 day.

Just an observation, but the graph at the top under where it says 1 day 19 hours clearly shows your battery going up 3 times. Which I was just going to pass up but I have a bunch of shots of my battery stats and none of them go up.

So if I'm not mistaken you plugged in a couple times.
I seen that as well but I honestly have no idea why. I can assure you it has not been plugged in. I even have a prior screen shot on another battery run that has the same issue.

Battery Management
Hi, all.
I want to pass this tip along to anyone who want or need to conserve their battery for what ever reasons.
I have gone usually 3 day+ on one charge.
I'm running on stock rom. Froyo 2.2.1
It is rooted though
I use the phone moderately. Text occasionally.
I downloaded an app called "DataSwitch" by TomatoX.
I use wifi when I'm at home or work.
I have dataswitch activated when I don't need constant background data. ?I turn it on when I need to use it for surfing and such.
In Settings, there is also a toggle for background on/off, although I don't use this much.
With the data off, you can still get phone call and text msg.
I usually turn off data and wifi at bedtime.
On the third day, I'm usually down to 35%.
This may also be useful if you are low and can't get to a charge right away.
It may not apply to everybody, but it works for me..esp with only a 200mb data plan. Battery life is great!
lol look at that cell standby use your phone lol

Good one. But next time on, it would be more useful if you post the screenshots showing call duration and display time. With just this one screenshot it could have display on for just 5 mins or 50 mins. Its hard to tell.
Just now noticed, the tiny green bars in the screenshot (circled in red) come up when the phone is charging.
I noticed that (at least for my phone) if you connect it to wall charging it would reset the "time on battery" count but if i connected it via usb to pc it was charging, yeah slowly maybe but the timer never reset when connected via usb as if the phone said "well im charging but it doesnt counts since the guy its transfering data"(lmao yeah my phone is smart) so if you wait for 10% battery ans then go usb mode and charge it and use it and repeat i once got displaying 4 days 10 hours on battery haha.
While on my real stats my phone never last more than 18 hours ;/

I got my phone to say 2 days 15 hours once. As long as I don't charge it 100% the time on my battery continues to go up. I can plug it in while it has 10% left charge it till its 90% unplug it, and the time won't reset.
If anyone mistook my comment, I'm not really interested in claiming any specific record as the op as stated.
I simply meant to share my thoughts on "dataswitch" app and how I had applied it.
I think found it useful to limit data usage and to conserve the battery when I can't get a charge right away.
You'll be surprise how much battery life background data consumes.
The other part tech part of me also recognizes that battery memory exist...it may be best to "widen" your charge range (0% to 100%) when possible.
Well, I figured out what caused that.. My radio in my truck has a USB port that I plug my phone into to listen to my music. Worked great on my Ipod but it wouldn't charge my Ipod. However today when coming home, I plugged my phone in and it doesnt show to be charging, but when I looked at the Battery Use chart, it deffinately showed an increase.
And here I was thinking I was getting impecable battery life lol.

hmm was in idle around 16hours if I'm honest as I barely used it over the weekend and took that screenshot the next day, yeah I'm pretty impressed by it! In idle this phone hangs on to life with a urge to live!
Awesome

Your battery is fine. 2 and half hours of gaming on full brightness with connections active is about average. Nothing wrong with your phone
