The bleeding is geting worse

Hi I bought the g2x like a week ago it had little backlight bleed from the top corners and today I noticed its getting worse, now its from the middle and from bottom to plus now I have a dead pixel. I checked the phone when I got it the first day and now its getting very bad. I wanted to keep but its going back.

I was just looking at mine today and you might be right-when I got it a little over a week ago the bleeding was minor-nothing to worry about, now it's clearly visible under low light environment- top left and right corners as well as the bottom left corner. Completely unacceptable for $550 device that claims to be one of the best super smart phones out there.

I so wanted to overlook the screenbleed but now when its getting worse I can't , plus now I have a dead pixel right in the middle that's making me more crazy, yesterday my friend got himself g2x and he's the screen is good but it had other problems like wifi connection issues and rebooting, man this phone sound so perfect on the paper but when u get them they have so many problems. I'm thinking waithing for gs2.

There are apps in the market to fix the dead pixel-give it a try. As far as the bleeding-we are on the same boat it seems...

I really think some people are blowing this issue out of proportion.

If you're not affected by this issue I would understand why you think that way. But my phone is getting worse and I am not going to settle that easy!!! I am exchanging it Monday...again

Well I was trying to think that too blowing out of proportion, I paid $544 something and fff them if they going to take my money and give me half ass ****.

I have it as well but I only notice it in complete darkness on full brightness.

The people that ***** are those that ***** a lot. The minority is always the most vocal.
Guess what other device has a similar "problem". The evo 4g, yet there isn't as much complaining now.
People should do their research before buying. This phone has been out for quite some time now.

One, tried to exchange it second time, but the new one was even worse than mine in terms of LCD Bleeding so I kept mine...but mine now just started randomly rebooting so I will go and exchange it again....

Your taking a chance man. But I understand. Ask for a later date. Or check box when they bring replacement out. I exchanged 3 times and I have minimal bleeding.

LOL again we blow it out of proportion and you have already exchanged it 3 times.....
i have had 2 that had horrible bleeding and one with reboots/wifi/sim wont recognize problems....
third one on the way
i figured it would get worse as i stated in other threads... my tv got worse within just about 3 months time after buying it and i got it replaced...
i just dont get why some are really bad....others are ok... and then some have NO backlight bleeding... again ill say it...
i worked in a plastic company for 3 years total and we had "standards" parts that where not to the "standard" where thrown away..... this is all about korean quality control.... they dont have any if there is such wide spectrum of good bleed vs bad bleed vs horrible bleed....

I was buying it until you said you had bleeding from the middle. Turn down your brightness.

I returned for other reasons. I had reboot issues.and data stuck in 2g one. I had minimal on all. Like I said u only notice in a complete pitch black room with brightness on 100%. Yes blown out of proportion. The issue isnt gonna be fixed for some time. Most stores arent even on a second batch shipment. Keep returning if u think it will make matters better. Some people have reported diff. Taking a chance when the one u have may be the best it can get.

What u buying it it bleeding from right side in the middle if I put the phone from the angle I can see 2 spots leaking the light in the middle its like the screen is not sitting tight

Got a replacement G2X - hideous screen bleed but doesn't heat up. FML

So I got a refurb today and I'm in a bad spot. It came with Froyo and absolutely horrible screen bleeding which my original G2X doesn't have at all. Been loading it up and using it a lot and I immediately noticed that the phone hasn't heated up at all or definitely not as much as my original G2X. Not sure if that means this one might be stable but now I'd have to give up a perfect screen for possible stability.
What would you do?

I am in the same boat. Just got mine yesterday and it's a refurb. My last one heated up and had NO screen bleed either. This refurb has terrible screen bleed. I am going to be calling them demanding a new one. It's completely unacceptable that they try and give a refurbished phone to replace a 2 month old brand new one. Otherwise I want my $500 back.

Got my wife a free one in the way. I'm taking it if the bleed is less then nothing. As long as there are no other issues that is....

What would be amazing is if only the devices that had bleed had no other problems. My original one had zero bleed but lots of issues. Who knows.

I just requested another replacement - the bleed on the refurb is atrocious and it also just froze up. Thinking it might be app related but trying to push T-Mobile for a new replacement. They are sending one for Monday but can't guarantee it will be new but they requested it.
So I'll have 3 G2X in my possession on Monday before 2 go back.

Any chance you'd show us a pic of the screen bleed? I just want to compare really.

I looked in the xda glossary for screen bleed, but nada. So (here comes the noob question) what is screen bleed? I am probably in the same boat as some others - I'll gladly take a stable G2X with screen bleed. My wife and I don't game or watch video.

Look what showed up at my work today.
It came directly from HTC for specific reps who won phones from HTC in April. I'd imagine they are releasing them very shortly since we received them as prizes today. Mine should be here in a few days and I'll check software versions to see if there are any differences.

Well when i had talked to one of the higher ups at HTC in March, he said they planned on releasing the Black version at launch, but since the coating had the chipping issues they decided to delay it till they fixed it.
Hopefully this was the actual reason, and we don't have any chipping issues on these phones. I'll post some more pictures tomorrow or day after.

this sucks if I woulda known T-Mobile was gettin this color I woulda waited..I might just go ahead and swap my blue housing for black now..I bought my phone used and its got a dent on the bottom right..is the chipping on the black housing really bad?

My wife fell in love with the black model. She's still holding on to her GS2 and doesn't care for the GS3 or anything equal in size.

Quality control - my 4th SGS3!

Anybody else out there having amazingly bad luck with your GS3? I just got a 3rd refurb and it came with the power button loose, and fell off in under 3 hours when I tried to use it. They are sending me a new unit instead of a refurb this time - priority overnight. This is the 2nd one I've had with a power button that came off! #2 just rebooted randomly more-and-more every day until I gave up figuring it out after a factory reset and "Safe Mode" start - it would still reboot just sitting there. *SMH* :silly:

Jumped up and down, calmly getting elevated from first-line tech until I got the "customer advocate". She agreed that if I had gotten two defective "recertified" phones, I deserved to have a real (new) one. I had to agree to a two year contract, which in my case only adds 9 weeks to my commitment and they agreed not to change my TOS. Basically they did an end run around themselves, because it will look like I upgraded my phone again, allowing them to ship a new unit. *SMH*

Already 4? That's sucks man. I'm on my 15th RAZR maxx...

Do you suppose these type of returns are what prompts Verizon to keep the bootloader locked down? If I were Verizon I'd sure want to.

Likewise, maybe we just got lucky...

Mines perfect no black spots or power button issue.but I will be on the look out for them two issues to happen.maybe our phones arnt as indestructible as thought.maybe time for a case n protector. any recommended?

mine has this weird line going down the left side of the screen
its only noticeable if you have a light source shinning on it and holding the device at an angle, doesn't effect viewing quality at all
slightly annoys me but im not about to return it and get a scratched up refurb phone in return

So I sent back one already for this and my referb I got back is not nearly as bad but they are still there. Basically, when I am using the phone in a dark area and the screen gives black , not off, there are black dots on the screen. This one is not nearly as bad but is it worth trying another one?

Well my first one was TERRIBLE with them. There was one that took up about 1/3 of the screen and looked like someone took a swab of paint and spread it around underneath the glass. This one just has a few small dots that are black

My GSIII has two relatively small blotches. Very annoying, but from what I understand if I get a replacement it will probably be worse.

I just noticed mine having 2 small(ish) ones last night, I just thought it was very odd. So this just happens with Super AMOLED? Is this a panel issue or quality in assembly issue?

From what I remember from the galaxy s2 the Qualcomm chip actually doesn't do well arraying the colors, compared to exynos.

Mine has a few small ones but they're only noticeable in a dark gray. I haven't seen it any other time and it's a color is don't see often so I just let it go

I see a few on mine also in the same situation(black screen but not off). I don't see them very much though. I guess I got lucky and got small ones. (one of the only situation a guy likes to admit he has small ones lol)
