[i9001][MOD]Custom Bootanimation - Galaxy S Plus I9001 Android Development

I dont have this phone, try at your own risk!
as the title says, this mod will enable u to easily customize bootscreen !
I Have Attached The Custom Booting.zip File
Which Contain 2 files
1) bootanimation
2) samsungani
NOTE : Files Should Be Executable
ie. Permission should be rwxr_xr_x (r=read, w=write, x= executable)
These Two Files Have to be copied to /system/bin With Root Explorer Or Any Thing Like That
The Next File I am Attaching Is sanim.zip
sanim.zip file must be copied To /system/media
delete /system/media/shutdown.qmg /system/media/bootanimation.qmg and /system/media/bootanimationloop.qmg.
The sanim contains the PNG files Which Can be edited As your will

I put all files where you said and changed permissions accordingly, the phone boots alright, but after the samsung- and the following galaxy s plus gt....-screens
there is just a black screen till boot is complete.

ooops, sorry my mistake. My question was for Sakindia. I was wondering because he obviously didn't change the init.rc which would trigger the bootanimation binary.
EDIT: Nevermind. Found it out by looking at the files. The samsungani Sakindia uploaded does trigger the bootanimation binary, so no need to do it in the init.rc

well I've tested my own version of it (but with modded init.rc) and I was facing the same issue as the other users did with your version. Where did you get the bootanimation binary from? I think that binary may cause the issue. Anyway I have to take a deeper look at what happens when starting the bootanimation.

The question....is it can be use now?

delete /system/media/shutdown.qmg /system/media/bootanimation.qmg and /system/media/bootanimationloop.qmg. It should work afterwards. See also the latest FeaMod Release as the FeaCore kernel now supports bootanimation.zip (I've changed the init.rc and took a different bootanimation binary):

I want to share this extended power menu.
How to install:
Extract the archive and put the files to system/framework, then reboot the phone. DEODEX IS REQUIRED!

Hey!
Do you know what I have to edit to remove the prompts for "Reboot", "Recovery" and "Download" of the Extended Power Menu that ask if I REALLY want to do the action?
Since the "Power off" action of the original menu doesn't ask for confirmation, I think it'd be more consistent to have these from the extended menu do the same as well!
Thanks
and also could you provide us the informations how to do this extended power menu since i want to keep my icons ^^
How is this done actually? is it through kitchen? but i cant seem to find any power menu option >.<
How to make the extended power menu myself?

Yup, in my case with an odexed ROM (without deodexing) it first started to FC when the files were replaced, and then got stuck in bootloop after factory reset.

Above bootloop was caused by XXKPS. After reverting to XXKP4 it was ok again... haven't tested (yet) whether Power Menu works find without deodexing XXKPS, but will try later
Ok... tried everything, but can't get it to work, not even in XXKP. Can someone explain the exact steps to take?
I tried:
1. copying files, deleting the odex versions, restart device -- nothing
2. deleing odex, copying files, restart device -- nothing
3. deodex, copying files, restart device -- nothing
So far power menu will not showup...
(battery indicator did change btw)

[req] CRT lock animation

Can anyone make this for the Galaxy Note? Would be much appreciated!
Or can anyone tell me if this will work:

You could try the app "Screen Off and Lock" from the Market, not quite as slick as the real thing since it doesn't map to the power button, but not bad in the meantime!

How do you replace the old framework-res.apk ?
I've tried Root Explorer with no success... The file is read only.
Click the little mount r/o button then try to paste it
Your phone will restart and when it comes back on, this and battery percentage should both work

Much more simpler to do than explaining it ...
Thanks to tr.supradeep for it post ... if you have root make like this ... it works on all rom and all themes ... better than flashing someone framework.res.apk that can stuck your phone in bootloop ...
FOR THOSE WHO JUST WANT TO ENABLE CRT ANIMATION WITHOUT CHANGING THEME IN CODEROM:
Just follow the steps given below regarding build.prop and probably if there is no mistake then it should work.
How to enable CRT animation:
1. Pull out "build.prop" using adb or copy it to your comp using Root Explorer. Modify it as suggested ahead. It resides in /system/build.prop .
2. Open build.prop and modify one(or two on coderomnexus) of the line.
'debug.sf.hw=1' is the line in the file. Replace it by '#debug.sf.hw=1'. Indirectly you are just changing the line into a comment by adding a #.
3. Now take this file and replace your original build.prop. You can do this by using adb or root explorer it doesnt matter.
4. Now apply any of the themes provided below using the steps given above.
5. Reboot phone.
NOTE: If the CRT animation is not working after reboot then reapply theme after you have modified your build.prop and try to reboot and see. And also enable all animations or some animations in Settings->Display->Animation for CRT animation to work.
NOTE: If you cannot follow the instructions given here please follow the link given below.
Video for Instructions to enable CRT animation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zp6RsSZ4X2w
Credit for the Video: GadgetCheck (Thank you very much GadgetCheck )
Hope this works for all of you.
Any problems please comment. And i do hope many other developers use my theme and make newer or older theme with the CRT animation enabled as i cannot do it all by myself.
Please click Thanks if this post helped you.

Modified framework-res.apk for KK1
I had modified framework-res.apk with the animation turned on only for KK1 per attachment. Just replace the one in /system/framework.

U mind giving telling me what files to replace in framework-res.
I got a heavily modded framework that I dont want to loose. It would be easier if I just recompile ur xml into my framework rather than the other way round.
What xml did u edit.?
And any additional files?
Also, is it both crt on and off... or only off effect?
Thnx a million.
I edited res/values/bools.xml
Changed "<bool name="config_animateScreenLights">true</bool>" to "<bool name="config_animateScreenLights">false</bool>"
Hope it helps.

[MOD][bootanim] ICS-like boot animation (requires my 20120105 kernel or better)

I put it in the title, and I'll put it here again because I KNOW someone will ask (or do worse)
THIS BOOT ANIMATION WILL ONLY WORK ON THE P6210 WITH KERNELS THAT SUPPORT BOOT ANIMATIONS. THAT CURRENTLY ONLY INCLUDES MY KERNEL FOR THE P6210 WITH A VERSION GREATER THAN OR EQUAL TO 20120105.
I wonder how many people will ignore that and install it on the 20120102 version (which, honestly, will amuse me quite a bit as it'll have an interesting result.)
Credit where credit is due: The actual boot animation was modified from the animation provided in UnNamed 1.x for the AT&T SGSII by gtg465x. All I did was rotate all the images, tweak the dimensions of the control file, and stick it into a recovery installable update.zip file.
How to install:
Download it. Put it on your device. Boot into recovery and install .zip file from sdcard (or internal sdcard if you put it on the microSD.)
This is completely unsupported... it's only meant as a sample and proof of concept for the boot anims.
This post has a link to a youtube showing the boot anim: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21101682&postcount=8

Rock On dude! can someone post a teaser video! thanks garyd!!
dont know if this also removes boot up sound,
in case anyone cant figure it out it should be /system/etc/poweron.wav, you can play the .wav first to verify, if so rather than delete it just rename to backuppoweron.wav
cheers!
by the way i found a way how to change the bootanimation on my galaxy mini :
1. delete the 'bootanimation' located in /system/bin (better to backup)
2. then copy and rename 'samsungani' to 'bootanimation'
3. then delete (backup) the bootani.qmg located in /system/media
4. copy the bootanimation.zip file to /system/media
and, i tried this on my gtab 7+ p6200.
but on step 3, in /system/media there are bootsamsung.qmg and bootsamsungloop.qmg. i don't know which file to delete/replace.
is the bootsamsungloop.qmg ?
can someone help me?
how come that Gtab7+ doesn't support the bootanimation ? if we got samsung bootanimation means it can support any bootanim i guess. or whatcha you think ?

ive tried this method with renaming both of these files, bootanimation finishes and lockscreen/homescreen come up but bootanimation is frozen stuck covering the top 60% of screen.

I'll post a video today on how it looks. Much better than stock.

Power off is in there though
EDIT found it!
/etc/1power_on.ogg
Delete that and bye bye boot up sound
Same here. its system/etc/1_poweron.ogg just renamed mine with root explorer.
This mod is only a "proof of concept" to demonstrate the changing of the boot animation using the kernel I posted in another thread. The boot sound is unrelated to the boot animation from the kernel point of view. Normally, the boot animation and/or sound would be changed by firmware developers.

Because Samsung insists on using their own wacky bootanimation binary and format.
So you need to either:
1) Replace the binary (manual effort, no "fallback" if no bootanim is present)
2) Add a script to the kernel initramfs that uses "standard" bootanim support if you have one present, and Samsung's as a fallback.

against by reason on startup screen between the samsung i9003 gt and the beginning of boot screen stays black for 8 sec why?
mtz files would normally go in the same place as your saved themes for miui. then, using theme manager, select that bootanimation and it will be changed. I've done it before on v8.5, just haven't bothered changing my theme yet on v9.

Bootanimation Problem

Hi everyone I have a problem with a bootanimation.
The anmation at first plays normally but when the sofkey light up an the phone vibrates the phone screen goes white.
After that the screen stays black but the status bar stys visible.
I am using ViperSaga 2.20 I am s-off.
I have uploaded the bootanimation for you to test so you can tell me if the bootanimation.zip is at fault.
This is the site from where I have the animation: http://androidbootanimation.com/page/2/
Thanks in advance.
I unziped the folder and the boot animation is meant for HD displays.
You would have to resize every picture and change the .txt file in the folder to "480*800"

Gimp should work. And in the script you have to change the line in the desc.txt from 800 1280 to 480 800 without the * The 20 behind has to stay (It tells the speed of the animation (fps[frames per second])
BTW the boot animation is/was(haven't used AOKP in a while) the official AOKP boot anmiation. You can extract the animation out of a ROM zip. I only have a old Nexus 7 ROM on my hard drive (again wrong resolution...), but search for it, you might find one with the right resolution on Google.
Edit: had 2 bootanimtion.zip on my SD card...
You are right the zip you uploaded is correct, I don't know what the problem is, sorry
Edit2: the picture format should be PNG not JPEG, try changing that.

I installed another animation from xda and it works. But the one I uploaded isn't working properly. Really weird.

What do mean with rw is mounted?
Step by step using ES file explorer: Mount the system writable, delete the old animation, paste the new that isn't working, long press on the zip, click on properties and change the permissions to rw-r--r-- (read|write-read--read--) & and don't forget to reboot
chmod is a terminal command to changes permissions 644=rw-r--r--

I did all this. But sadly it isn't working.
Maybe it's because of rom Viper Saga.

I will do a full wipe. Then I will know if the problem is my Device or the Rom.

Have you tried using venom tweaks to install the custom boot?
