Hi. I installed Koush's CM9 Alpha 11 on my Nexus S cos I just couldn't wait
It's a great build, but I'd like to be able to go back to vanilla android once Google releases ICS. Can I flash the 2.3 build from ROM Manager and will it update then it how can I go back? I'm aware that I'll probably lose root then, but that's not an issue.

It should work ive done it before, soon you flash 2.3 from rom manager, check your phone for update and install 2.3.6 from there
Thanks. That's a relief

Oh well. i guess, i'll have to see what happens, Shivammcool. If it doesn't work using ROM Manager i gotta find another way. But thanks for your comment anyway.
Shortly after Google releases the OTA someone here will have it uploaded for you to flash.
I hope it will be uploaded to ROM Manager. The latest stock ROM there is 2.3.3 i think.. RM and CWM recovery make things so easy

Hello, i installed the teamos rom stable a week ago, and i'm very surprised to receive what it seems like an official update to 4.0.4. So i have a few questions :
1. Is it safe to accept this update ? I mean without loosing the teamos features ?
2. Could the teamos propose its updates the same way ?
Thank you
1. No. You will end up in a boot loop.
2. They don't have that capability to my knowledge.

Nope. I would not attempt it.
How do we get rid of the update notification if we are running TeamEOS or Other custom ROM?
Yea I am having the same issue with cyanogen. 9 rom. Anyway to bypass it
Sent from my HTC sensation 4g using Tapatalk
you need to get the paid version of Titanium Backup and freeze the android updater process to prevent the update notifications.
Edit.. well this worked on my phone to get rid of the notifications.. but i cant find the program that does it on CM9.. so i dont know

Is this for the wifi only model? Has ICS officially come out for the 4G models?
I'm getting the same notification but I cannot find the android update process as mentioned. Any ideas?

I agree the solution would be to upgrade to a 4.0.4 teamos version. Maybe they could tag this as a 1.5 stable So « simple users» like me wouldn't be afraid.
The problem still exists since a new 4.0.5 OTA would cause the same problem......

system update 4.0.4 with teamos 1.0 rom
I would never try to perform an official OTA update after a custom from has been installed. That is just asking for trouble. You also mentioned that you were running team eos's rom. I can tell you first hand experience, I've been a very loyal team EOS from user for my Xoom for several months and typically load every nightly they put out for my model. The reason I point this out, is because most times the developer roms xda are actually much further along than the official updates. The biggest example is the fact that ICS is not available officially from Motorola/Verizon as of yet. Plus you get so many features and functions you will likely not see in the official builds.
Others - feel free to help me explain, agree, disagree, etc....
Good luck,
®obert
I've tried many, and I mean many roms, mods, and themes. Hands down - Team EOS is the single most exciting, knowledgeable, helpful and down right customer oriented in the Android Development groups.

However, to answer your question, you should just install a custom ROM. They are nicer.
Sent from my MB860 using xda premium
install a custom rom.
Have you ever rooted it, or flashed any custom roms? I think that can interfere with OTA updates.
Either way, all you have to do is install a custom rom. I recommend the EOS ICS 1.0.0 rom. Check it out here.
Nightlies are better and have more features.

No! Nightlies are different
Only use nightlies if you know what it is. I wouldn't recommend it to someone who has difficulties updating his stock rom...
Getting the update message on EOS 1.0.0 now. I will agree this ROM is much better than stock
I just updated to the march 2012 baseband, it is running T-Mobile stock 2.3.4 android v21y. With this new baseband, will the other ROMs in the G2x development forum work?
EDIT: CM 7.2 RC 3 works now... get.cm
Sent from my LG-P999 using Tapatalk 2
Anything with v21y in it yes those are stock based custom roms, where as cm7/9 will not

Just BuROM and kwes's ROM for now.
Ok, thanks for the help!
Supposedly CM7 does now
flashing it now, 27th's nightly
oh really? I'm going to give this a try. If it don't work, im going to try Burom.
Btw can you please post a link where they say it now supports the new baseband?
cm7 rc3 works! In call audio sounds good but a little lower than stock mod roms. Can't wait for some one to get MIUI working now that cm got it figured out!!!

Thanks.
I downloaded the CM 7 RC3 build and installed. Works perfectly. In call audio works, GPS still works (althought it took like 30 seconds the first time), data works. And all CM features are there. Make sure that after you also install google apps for market, proper connection to google account etc.
Quick Question
I cant find the 27th nightly. Does everything work properly because i have the new BB and 2.3.4 and want to get a working rom such as cyanogen with no problems. Also which is the RC3 you are speaking of CM7.2.0 RC3 2012-05-26 16:53:23? Which is better for my system the Stable version or rc3 version. Thank you.

Kinda old thread if you want cm go with 7.2 stable and if you want a custom rom that's not compatible with the new bb just flash this zip by owain right after you flash the rom http://db.tt/fC1QynNS.... Please note that any rom other than stock won't have bluetooth calling and there's no know fix yet

Hey! I have a working ICS using the ICS EB4.0.4 is confirmed to have call audio and text messaging does work, however I believe that Bluetooth may still be an issue. I made a guide for it.

If you want a more stock experience, I strongly recommend EaglesBlood ICS 4.04 AOSP, build 5.5 with 5.6 kernel. These guys also fixed the data drop problem. It's the smoothest ICS ROM I've seen. Also, it uses the Aroma Installer, and supports both the OLD and NEW baseband.. it defaults to the OLD baseband when installing, so you shouldn't have any problems.
For this sweet setup, just do the following and you should be good to go:
1.) Install Build 5.5 zip through CWM Recovery - developer.clockworkmod.com/downloads/718/3127/egb-nightly-2012-07-01-signed.zip
2.) Install latest GApps zip RIGHT after that in CWM Recovery - goo.im/gapps/gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip
3.) Install Kernel 5.6 zip right after that in CWM Recovery - dropbox.com/s/p8z8sdy7iwemegk/eb_p999_beta5.6.zip
4.) [Added Bonus] Install Default Browser Rotation/Flickering Fix right after THAT in CWM Recovery - charlie.d-h.st/k7J/00010/Browser-rotationfixed-tonyp.zip?key=1343730743 (by tonyp)
The above links work. Unfortunately, I can't supply the nice clickable outside links until I have more postings under my belt.
genesis is pretty awesome, too. Tons of options, aroma installer, both basebands supported, CM9 and AOKP fusion.
My advice is try them all out. Pretty much anything on here is better than stock. See what fits you and your phone the best

Anyone pull it so guys on ICS based Rom can get some love?
I'm with ya. Running Google now on stock ics Rom and would love to check out this update. I'm sure we will be flashing the latest update through cwm any second now.

Do they have Google Now that runs on a stock TW Rom, rooted? Google Now will be the one thing I will miss from my GNEX JB Rom.

Like how you can finally add your teams manually also
Google Now error [CM10 on SGS3/Verizon]
On my Samsung Galaxy S III on Verizon, with CM10 nightly, Google Now keeps telling me that I need to turn on Google's location service. But it is on. This notification keeps coming back and I can't get any further with Google Now.
Known issue? Am I missing something??
I went from stock rooted to cm10 and now Beans build 9.. Which is the best right now imo
I'm sure this could be installed as an apk, not flashed correct?
Google now has to be hacked to work on ics. Which is why there are a few bugs currently compared to jb roms. Will probably take a few days for this update to work its way through the team that is porting it over.
