Hello
I am wondering if there is a way to disable the recent contacts under messaging?
I have tried deleting from call log and from contact history but they still appear in the list..
if anyone has this issue or has a solution i would appreciate the knowledge !!!
Thanks..
If you really want to disable your recent contacts you'll have to hunt them all down and take a tire iron to their... oh, you mean wiping the list off of your messaging app, don't you? The only way I can think of is to go into settings/applications/manage applications/all, scroll down to your messaging app and wipe data.
Has anyone seen John Connor?
Lol... I actualy prefer your first method over second... it was a problem with rom.. some how it was locking up any number that was sending any txt message.. changed rom.. problem solved... thanks for your time.

Hey guys. So I was in terminal deleting the stock apps that I don't need to have and one of those apps which I deleted was the stock messaging app, I did this because I was using hancent. Well now I am not receiving text messages.
- It all started after I deleted the stock app, I am not sure if it started immediately after or a while after.
- I was using handcent and I noticed that I was getting the pop up received thing and the quick reply option but in the actual handcent app under each conversation the incoming message was not there.
- I then switched to chomp sms to see if that would fix it. Now I am not getting the quick reply popup message received (in chomp)
Are there any suggestions to fix this or knowledge about this topic? Do you need to have the stock messaging app inorder to have other messaging apps work correctly. Oh ya, outgoing messages are still being sent correctly.
Sorry guys wrong section I wanted to post in q n a
Yes it is needed for other apps, that is why they have you turn off Messaging's notifications- so they can give them to you instead. They just read what messaging gets, they don't actually get the messages
I have recently got the X10i after yrs of a N95 ( sorry ), am doing my best to like the phone and am giving it every chance. I have lurked on this site and last week I rooted the phone and made it more personnal for me, thanks to the developers and those who provide the info for rooting.
I quickly removed the moxier stuff and also the messaging app but I am having issues with handcent sms, I wanted it for group/bulk texting tbh but it seems I have to restart the phone to get it to send a text to a group which has got 18 recipients.
Once the phone has started up I can send a group text no probs but the second group text will send to 1 or 2 of my contacts but the rest then fail, so I then restart the phone and resend the text and they get delivered, I have tried chompsms, grouptext and groupui, but each one gives me the same problem.
Has anybody got any ideas or another app I could try to resolve this issue ?
maybe it could be that the sms apps you use need (or work thanks) the main messaging app which were installed on the phone, the one you uninstalled.

I dont think it is that to be honest, I think it is more to do with the amount of contacts in the list, so I am hopeful that somebody confirms this and also gives me a better option.

Actually this could be true, as you should not remove core system applications, such as messaging.
so, you can try resetting your phone using Update Service software on your pc. I tried searching for an SMS app in my mobile folder to share with you, but there are several files that may be connected togheter, about messaging, and I am not able to choose the right one (or ones) to share.
Hi all!
Can somebody tell me which app answers for notifications of incoming messages and delivered? Can it be fixed by reinstalling of app? Which app do i need to reinstall?
Problem is:
Notifications of incoming messages and delivered are the same, just if i chose different melodies. It use notification of incoming messages allways for both types of them.
Help!
P.S. If anybody can ask about all HTC system app (which is answer for) it will be very good.
Can you try explaining your problem again. I am just not sure what you are asking.
(I am sure your English is better than my Russian though
Are you looking for an app that pops up a different style of notification for different events?
If so you can give Pops a try its on the market .

if you are looking for a good sms app, try to take a look at Handcent sms, it can do whatever you want.

I don't like the View All function of the Samsung Messenger on my Galaxy S8 and my research shows there is no way to disable it.
I downloaded and installed Android Messenger but my recent messages sent with the Samsung messenger are not showing up in Android Messages.
I can switch back to Samsung Messenger and they will show up again. How do I get all my messages (both sent and received) to show up on Android Messenger?
Any help is appreciated.
Found out that Advanced messaging got turned on. How can I convert the sent messages from Advanced to basic so they will show up in a 3rd party messenger app?
Try going to settings in Android messenger and click default sms app then changing it to android messenges

That was the first thing I tried. I did some more poking around and I found out that ATT Advanced messaging got turned on and the sent messages from 7-7-17 to 7-9-17 where sent as Advanced messaging instead of Basic messaging. Im looking for a way to convert those sent messages from Advanced to basic without having to reset the date and time on my device to resend them.
